An absolutely stunning and delicious time here at The Whitney House. Our friends invited us up from Dayton and this was hands down the best selection. The food was on point. The service was amazing with our server being hilarious throughout it all. Did I mentioned the environment itself was so comfy. Highly encourage you to try and make sure you get dessert!

I have to say, I’m surprised at how good this was. Granted it’s your typical new American Midwest bistro food; with a fine touch. Everything from start to finish was either pretty good or very good, and the service was excellent! A little slow but Frank made up for it very much. The atmosphere was calm not too snobby or anything, just very well rounded and upbeat, slightly low lit. Reminds me of kitchen social, maybe better. Outstanding!

I've had brunch and dinner here and it's definitely a top-notch spot to dine in Columbus! It's great for a date night. From dinner, I can't decide which was better: the chicken, the trout, or the service. The sauce paired with that chicken made the perfect sweet/salty contrast, and both proteins were cooked perfectly. The crab cakes are also phenomenal - I'd highly recommend. I'm pretty sure I ate my first grilled cheese as an adult here (and it was appropriately called the "adult grilled cheese"). It was better than any one I ever made growing up; once again, it had a subtle sweetness from a jam that made for an excellent flavor contrast. Even though I've never tried it, they have boozy cereal on their brunch menu (let that sink in!!) I'd be excited to try almost anything from their menu, so Whitney House better get used to seeing my face!

Service was great, our server was attentive and answered all the questions we had on dishes. The portions to be just right for a meal. I only took dinner home because I ordered chips and guacamole. The presentation was superb, I was surprised to see the chips in a flower shape!

Just got back from my first ever brunch there. It would be 5 stars if not for the little bait and switch. I understand that the on line menu may not always be right. Waiter pointed that out. But he never mentioned the menu prices on the menu at your table are off by twenty some percent. $16 entree is really $21. And so on. What I expected to be a $50 brunch was almost $80 with the tip. Pretty shady practice in my opinion. Do better.

We went to The Whitney House for our anniversary dinner and had an incredible time. We sat on the tavern side which felt quieter and more intimate on a Sunday night. The staff were all very personable and made it a point to congratulate us, and even brought us complimentary champagne. The entire meal, from starters to dessert, were excellent and came out very quickly.

Enjoyed a great Sunday brunch! I loved the quaint atmosphere, and the coziness of the restaurant. They also has great outdoor patio seating. The food was wonderful and one of the best eggs Benedict I’ve had! I would definitely recommend that as well as the Belgium waffle and French toast. Service was wonderful and attentive. I would definitely frequent here again when I visit Columbus.

We had an exceptional experience here this morning for brunch. I had the flat iron steak and eggs, while the old lady had the flat iron steak salad. The meat was tender, the potatoes were somehow extraordinary (not sure how they were cooked, but wow!!), and the eggs were cooked to order. Weihenstephaner on draft was crisp and cold. The French pressed coffee was hot and bold. Tommy was attentive and helpful! I will definitely be making a trip back.

I'm having a hard time believing all the 4 and 5 star reviews this place gets. I think it speaks a lot to the friendly & attentive service. The food is very mediocre and overpriced. Tries hard to be upscale, but the talent and flavor just isn't there. Very disappointing.

Crowded and noisy night we were there but had excellent trout dinner. Waiter was quite professional. Smaller private room in back with bar. Special ice cream floats were yummy desserts. Would definitely go back again based on food.

Great food and service is still available at the Whitney House. We’ve been here before, but per Covid so this time we ate outside. Nice area along the sidewalk giving it a cosmopolitan feel. We started with cocktails and a salad. Our main course was the scallops and a hanger steak. All of which were great.

The Whitney house was wonderful. I came here with my boyfriend and his family and we had a lovely time. Service was great and the food was amazing. I had the quiche of the day and we all shared a cinnamon roll and some bacon, which was delicious. Very happy to enjoy the brunch!

I showed up on a Friday around 7:00, so pretty close to peak rush hour. I was alone and they sat me at the bar. There were three bartenders who were very busy. I must admit it was kind of fun to watch the bartenders since they mixed a lot of interesting looking drinks. They took the time to discuss the menu options to make sure I ended up with something I would like. The walleye was absolutely amazing. They mostly managed to keep my drink filled. There was at least a 15 minute delay if not longer between when I finished my walleye and before I was asked about dessert. Why the delay? Because those bartenders were crazy busy. When they did ask me about my preference for dessert, they not only took the time to discuss the options, but someone did an in-depth look at what was added cuz I told him I was afraid there was something I would not like on one of them. Turns out there was something I wouldn't like on one of them, for them taking the extra time was greatly appreciated. I got a fabulous dessert that I really enjoyed. To take away is, things might be a little slow when they're busy; and that is what I expect when they're busy. But even when they are very busy, they will still take the individual time required to make certain you get what you need. It was overall a great experience. This is a Coke shop.

You will LOVE this restaurant. They e outdone themselves with the cozy inside. The service. And most importantly, the food. Our server, Evan, was incredible. Friendly. Prompt. Engaging. Attentive. All the things you expect when you go out to dinner. The Mezcal tequila drink was one of the most delicious drinks I've ever had. A single large cube of ice keeps it from getting watered down. The fries from my burger were ridiculously tasty. And the triple chocolate cake!? We don't get a date night often with the hustle and bustle of life and a toddler so we value them. We were so happy to experience this wonderful place a d plan on returning soon.

What a perfect brunch this weekend with my boyfriend! This is a great choice for families, friendly get togethers, and of course a quiet and romantic brunch. The food portions, presentation, variety and quality were all 5 star. I can't believe I've lived in the area most of my life and never been here before... But now I'll be back!

Cozy little spot in Worthington. Everything scratch made. Trout is amazing with the has underneath. Friday they offer a lobster pot pie that is delicious as well. We also had their pierogies which didn't disappoint. Finished dinner with a carrot cake and a cup of French press coffee. Everything was truly amazing. Highly recommend this spot!

The Whitney House has great ambiance, like a pub/restaurant from days gone by, while also being modern in their offerings. The service has always been attentive and accommodating. The salmon is delicious, as is the "big ol' meatloaf" (which is, indeed, big) and the hanger steak. The fries are delicious and so are the salads, which are very generous. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.

Decided to try local last night, probably won't return. Only one other table occupied but it took the waiter 20 minutes to get our order. Orders arrived twenty minutes later. We both ordered simple hamburger and fries. The hamburgers were delicious, the fries were horribly over done. I don't think I have ever not liked fries before until now. The sauce provided was quite tasty tho. Paid our bill and waitress never returned our change nor approached our table again. We ended up leaving a nice tip but adjusting it since we didn't receive our change. Really disappointed

Stacie was a fantastic server , extremely knowledgeable about the menu and recipes and and able to give great suggestions and listen to what we were looking for. The food was exceptional. I had the game sausages and pierogies for dinner. For dessert I had the chocolate and bread pudding. And the French press coffee was stellar as well

This is mine and my husband's go-to fancy celebration place. If you happen to go when they're serving monkfish, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a hideously ugly fish in the wild, but it's soooo tasty on the plate.

Thoroughly disappointing chicken was tough, rubbery, and cold. It was, without a doubt, among the worst-tasting chicken I have ever eaten. Tasted like it had been reheated from a freezer via microwave. Included vegetables were bland. The garnish tasted like canned jam.

We had the braised short rib hash which was very good, the short ribs were prepared in a red wine demiglaze which was very good, we also had the cornbread biscuits and gravy which were excellent, but the biscuit was a little dry. Overall, very good meal and we will be back.

I came here for a weekend brunch, nice and cozy place with a great French coffee press. The breakfast was good but the coffee was perfect. I suggest getting a sweet dessert along with your coffee. They have a carrot cake that perfectly matches with the coffee.

Let me start off by saying that the actual servers are amazing and the food is too. We will return to the restaurant. HOWEVER, lets go into what happened today. My office is located in Worthington and I like supporting my local business so I took my 70 year old grandmother for lunch before we stepped into afternoon meetings at our office. We went to the back door ( Where we have entered time and time again in the past 2 weeks) and stood there waited to be seated. The bartender (2/26/20 Around 1 in the afternoon) took his time to look over towards the door to see us standing there. When he looked over, it honestly felt like he was judging us in how we were dressed ( Sorry Mr. Bartender, I'm a plumber by trade and I don't dress fancy like the clientele you are accustomed to). He then says "Hey, you need to walk around to the front of the building that's where the hostess stand is". Looking around and seeing the atmosphere of the area where we normally sit, you can tell we weren't fitting his criteria to sit in his area. So that's cool, we go around to the front ( The door was locked) and then find the second side door. We then get seated by our server. Our Server ( The red haired young lady) WAS FANTASTIC. I asked to speak with the manager and the manager came over and I voiced my concerns. She said she was going to speak with him. The manager was apologetic and awesome too. We had lunch and the food was fantastic. I paid the bill and then this is where this review comes from. In walks Mr.Bartender and he approaches our table. He then proceeds to say, " I just wanted to make sure were o.k here". I told him " No were not, and im going to educate you in the world of customer service real quick". I said " When you see a client walk in to your section with his 70 year old grandmother, you DON'T tell them to go back outside and walk around". He says " I NEVER ONCE SAID THAT". So here we are, bickering back and forth in the main dining room with this moronic bartender arguing with me over him being rude to us. He then repeats that "I never once said that" again and I told him "were done talking". I get up to walk out with my grandmother and the manager herself seemed blown away that member of staff decided to approach a patron and become argumentative over a situation they caused. To those of you who choose to dine here. THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC. If you walk in the back door with Blue Jeans on and a grandmother who is wearing a flannel shirt and blue jeans and this bartender is working, be prepared to be judged and told to walk out and around.

Downtown Worthington only got better when The Whitney House opened. I've grown up here and as an adult I choose to raise my family in Worthington. I've seen good (and bad) restaurants come and go but this particular gem is by far the best. I loved the Steak (cooked perfectly) with baked potato and veggies and the service was spectacular. They were attentive and kind. I not only recommend the quiet beauty of Downtown Worthington but I also recommend the culinary delights of The Whitney House.

We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We made reservations through Resy. When we arrived, our table was waiting for us in the front, by the window, overlooking downtown Worthington. Very cozy and romantic. Our waiter Frank was knowledgeable, made excellent suggestions, and provided great service. We started with the Brussels tart and split the pear and prosciutto salad. Yum! For dinner we ordered the Lobster pot pie, Trout, and perogies. Everything was absolutely delicious. To end the evening we ordered french pressed coffee and split the carrot cake. It was by far the best carrot cake we have ever tasted and we savored every bite. Everything is made from scratch and delectable. Thank you for a perfect date night

OVERALL: A quaint evening I would take the in-laws to. MENU: Simple yet many items to choose from. How many places offer quail? STAFFING: Other waiters looked like they were doing great however, our waiter was forgetful and distant. We ordered an appetizer to begin with but enough time passed where the waiter came back to take our main course order. Wanting to see where the night took us, we didn't mention the appetizer. Eventually our food was brought to our table with no appetizer. The evening continued and we didn't say anything when the order wasn't on our bill. MEAL: Ordered the bacon wrapped scallop. These were not bacon wrapped but had pieces of bacon sprinkled throughout the plate. The scallops were delicious and properly cooked but were swimming in garlic. ATMOSPHERE: Warm vibe with comfortable chairs. CLEANLINESS: Bathrooms were so nice had to take a pic! Every furniture item was well picked and tastefully placed.

The atmosphere is great. Our server Sean did a wonderful job with taking care of us. The downfall of Whitney's was the food. The Shrimp a-la Vodka tasted just fine but the size of the shrimp was disappointing. Both my wife's and my entrees were disappointing as well. The Scallops were luke warm and the vegetable was piping hot. Which leads me to believe they were plated and left while the Broccoli finished cooking. My Flat Iron steak was cooked correctly but had the same fate as the Scallops. It was also not seasoned well at all. Since we were the ONLY diners in the room it was not because they were overwhelmed, it was just poor execution from the kitchen. Sorry guys, not coming back.

We went for lunch. First, I have to commend Brian, our server. There is an art form to being a great server, he nailed it. The Ohio burger is tasty, and I swear they give you 4 cut potatoes as fries... lots of food! The tomato soup was tangy and delicious.

Such an amazing experience. My parents and I came here for a Friday night, Mum and I had the French onion soup and dad had the salad, all wonderful. We all had the lobster pot pie for our main course and saying it was excellent is an understatement. The drink menu was extremely diverse and we tried a little bit of everything, from bourbon infused with blackberry to rum based drinks. Our server was delightful and I regret to say I’ve forgotten her name, but she was blonde and so cheerful, she lit up the whole room and made our entire experience so pleasant. The dessert was the best part, the carrot cake and the cobbler are to die for! I’ve never eaten more at once in my entire life, I literally couldn’t say no to the menu.

We sat in the bar area in a booth with Leslie as our server. Leslie was friendly and attentive! The space can get a little loud when full and can make it hard to have a conversation. Pictured is the Ohio City gnocchi, the Tavern burger (best burger ever had) and the TWH pretzel cake. 10/10 would recommend and will be going back!
