Awesome experience. Butterflies were active and awesome to look at and every room I went into felt refreshing! There were also massive and amazing glass pieces that were shown all throughout the conservatory that was so fun to look at. Great place to stop by and look at beautiful plants and feel the positive energy. The facility was very clean and easy to walk through. Staff was incredibly kind as well :). I went on Thursday at 1pm and it wasn't too busy but I'm sure it's a different story on the weekends. Parking was also free so that's a plus!

This place was so cute, and so pretty at night with all the Christmas lights lit up. My friend and I even enjoyed the space designated for kids (I need that mushroom shaped drum), and we got to see the inside and outside for a couple of hours before it closed. I loved all of it, and we got to get some small things from the gift shop too!! We want to go back when it snows and sometime in the spring. Definitely worth the money and trip time!!

What a great place! This is the largest collection of Chihuly sculptures outside of his own museum in Seattle. Such a delight to see his art in concert with the gorgeous plants and flowers 🌺 (I attached a map of his art pieces around the gardens). Most of the best parts are inside so even if the weather is not great, still an awesome visit! Also a full children’s play area on the lower level. Plus a cafe and nice gift shop - you’ll enjoy! 🌈

Nice gardens with lots of activities for kids. Very clean and well maintained. I did think admission was a little too pricey, but not enough to be mad about it. More water fountains would have been nice. My kids loved the playhouse in the children’s garden.

The conservatory was absolutely beautiful and very interactive for our children. There is a few water features that we did not know about, but we let them be kids and splash away. Hindsight, we should have put them in better outfits or even swimwear and differently brought a towel. Only be an issue during the summertime. My kids loved the model train sets and play equipment. I hear their Christmas lights are best in town, but haven't made it out here for that yet.

What an excellent place to appreciate flowers, plants, bonsai, topiary displays, Chihuly glass art, and a children's garden. The conservatory was set up and organized very well. My group and I thoroughly enjoyed walking through and seeing all the beautiful displays. They have a gift shop. There was a live band playing while we were there, which was a nice touch. The parking was free, but the admission fee was a little steep for seniors. They had clean, accessible bathrooms. They also had wheelchairs for those who couldn't do the walking. I am glad I visited this conservatory, and I recommend you visit here as well. Definitely deserves the 5 star rating I give it!!

Beautiful conservatory. Plenty to see and they have a nice gift shop. Crowds are light during the week in the afternoon. Allow around 2 hours to visit, 3 if you eat.

Such a beautiful building at any time of year but the lights at Christmas are my favorite! Beautifully done and spaced out for everyone to enjoy! The kids loved it and so did the adults if we’re being honest! A must see with the family if you’re looking for an adventure during the holiday season!

A must visit during the holidays. The light display is so beautiful and nearly done. 10/10 recommend over ZooLights. It’s always a joy to sit with the plants. I just wish the parents had their kids respect nature and everything else FPC has to offer. Cheers!

Gorgeous!!!!! If you're a Columbus resident, you can get free tickets through the library! Otherwise, I think the entrance fee is well worth it. At this time of year the perennials are mostly dead, but the plants inside are thriving. Beautiful bonsai exhibit and really fun train exhibit when we went. Strongly recommend.

Beautiful botanical garden! The children's garden was awesome and if you have children, there is a lot for them to see, touch and experience. Also, worth noting, their Garden Railway is AWESOME!! They had a Fairytale and European theme to their buildings. It was well executed. Much of their displays are located in the visitor center. Not the biggest botanical garden I've ever been to, but very nice. Every single worker we ran into was extremely helpful and friendly!

We were worried this would be one of those places you're in and out in 45 minutes. We wound up spending hours here. Very very beautiful grounds outdoors, the large scale model train outside is like nothing I've ever seen before. Inside was just as nice as the outside gardens. Also a lot of blown glass artwork integrated in the displays. A nice gift shop and cafe. Bathrooms were clean too. Well worth the visit.

To be honest, at $20 a person I thought the price was a bit steep. But after spending the morning here I can say it's worth every penny! The grounds are well manicured; the variety of plants is quite impressive; and the staff is all very helpful and kind. The Glassblowing Hot Shop was a wonderful experience to observe. I will come back next time I'm in town.

I have been coming here since I was a child (almost 20 years!) I’ve seen this place when it cost only $7. Now the admission is $20 at which I was appalled, admittedly at first but it is very much worth it! It’s exciting to see all these people and children continue to enjoy the conservatory. I haven’t been able to afford a membership or to get all the time but whenever we do, it’s an experience! I always take a ton of pictures of plants and the Palm House is my favorite spot hands down. I remember being a part of a yoga class in there once. What I love that’s new is the children’s garden and the Hot Shot(?) glass blowing demonstration ,which I got to see today for the first time. Its always a surprise to see what is new here. Some things never change and some new things always are coming. Price is underpaying honestly. So I know the FPC is actually community oriented <3 And the Columbus libraries (Main, MLK South East & more)has free passes for the day for FPC (first come first serve) that restart every day when they open.

Fantastic botanical garden. Very family friendly now with a large outdoor children's garden with exploration and water features. Desert, jungle, palm house, hot house for glass blowing demonstrations, large outdoor train to open in the summer. Free parking, small Cafe and gift store. Wheelchair accessible in many areas.

We had some time to burn before an event so we decided to check out this place. I did not expect to stay there for an hour and a half! There were so many gorgeous plants/trees. My favorite things were the bonsai trees and the railway outside with various carved wooden houses. Each area had a theme like animal, fairy tale, European, and wild west and the craftsmanship was phenomenal. The glass work throughout was a nice added touch as well.

We went to Aglow and have made it an annual event. We love going and it’s refreshing to be outside and refreshments / popcorn on site. Inside is spectacular and the fish are truly stunning. The gift shop is adorable - parking and tickets all went smooth and customer service was good. Five stars from this girl.

I was here for the Chihuly Nights experience and it was amazing. I would recommend coming in early because there is so a lot to see, it took us about 2 and a half hours and probably could have spent even more time. The glass art pieces blend well with the plants, and there is a huge variety of beautiful plants. It's a great experience. On top of that, there's the model train exhibit, the Children's Garden which has a bunch of interactive stuff, and a small art exhibit inside by the gift shop. There is a lot to do, and it's all very interesting.

This place was really incredible. I got to experience the Conservatory Aglow, and it was lovely. The lights were amazing and beautiful and crowds were not bad at all. There was so much to experience and it was altogether really neat. Great place to go for anyone of any age. Perfect place for a date as well. Only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is the price. It's very steep, which makes it only worth it for a single trip. Other than that, this place was amazing.

Very nice conservatory. Lots of plants and flowers. There is a gift shop and dining area. The butterfly area is really nice and we loved seeing all the different butterflies. The outside area is one of my kids favorites with a wonderful play space (especially when the weather is warmer and the kids can play in the water-bring a change of clothes). I recommend going in spring or summer if you want to be outdoors and see a lot of the flowers in bloom. Elevators are available to navigate between floors for those that may need them.

This place was magical! So many things to explore. Great for kids with indoor and outdoor exhibits for them. I loved looking at all the plants and flowers. Worth the 3 hour drive we had to get there! Wish they were open later just because of our drive time.

$23+tax per person, under $50 for 2 people. I've been to a few other botanical gardens and this one is nice. I do like the inside gardens and different temperate zones. The outside railroad setup is so cool!! Fun place to visit for a few hours. There is a really nice kid's zone outside.

I will give you a small taste of our outing to The Conservatory. Tickets and wearing masks/distancing are required for inside entry. There are lights to see outside too. Inside there is access to a gift shop, bathrooms and hand sanitizer. (In addition to the amazing lit glass displays). *I did not show glass creations...get tickets and go see it after dark...amazing!

Highly recommend. Everything is beautiful. We went around noon, it was a little warm (September). Going in the morning would probably be more comfortable for exploring outdoor areas. I believe they currently have evening events too, which would be beautiful. Recommend checking the website prior to visiting, we weren’t able to work that into our trip this time, but would have loved to see “chihuly at night”.

A beautiful place for a family to hangout a complete day(you have nice places in the green to sit and have food carried from home). Kids would love the place and seniors would admire the beauty of the nature and the artwork. It was a surprise planned by my wife on Father’s Day and indeed in turned out to be a fantastic surprise.

Great for all ages! The fall/ pumpkin display is fabulous! The color throughout the gardens is amazing. The fall colors are brilliant and the pumpkin's add the perfect touch as they are tucked into displays everywhere! Truly a beautiful walk in the middle of the day. There is handicap parking and the gardens are handicap accessible.

We had a lot of fun here. We came on a warm sunny day and the butterflies where flying all around us in the butterfly habitat. They were beautiful! The plants where lovely and the art pieces where amazing. We ate at the cafe there and the food was very good, the fries were my favorite- soft on the inside and crunchy outside. We seen all the exhibits and were not disappointed by any of them. We were just intrigued by the bonsai trees and how old they were! Over all I recommend taking a trip there and seeing all they have there. We went in early april so not everything is in bloom but it was still beautiful. Also if you are a senior, member, military or on medicaid they have discounts- must show proof for medicaid and military.

Beautiful experience, they have amazing plants. We missed all the activities but I didn't see anywhere when we entered that told us there was anything going on. I just remembered seeing the end of a petting zoo. Definitely a great place to visit on any day as most of the plants are inside.

My first time visiting the conservatory! It was such a beautiful and relaxing day to be in nature, and seeing the work of art of different creative things (as shown in my pictures)! My favorite part is being in an enclosed green house with butterflies! Such a kid-friendly place, saw lots of couples and families there.

We spent a couple of hours on a very warm Friday afternoon in August exploring the Conservatory. Unfortunately,it was too hot to enjoy the park and grounds outside. First off, the basics: Plenty of clean bathrooms, pleasant and helpful staff, and a very cute gift shop. We came mostly for the Chihuly sculptures and were not disappointed. If you love seeking them out, this will be a great place to spend a couple of hours. I also enjoyed the many plants and flowers, and particularly the bonsai. There are also a couple of connected outdoor areas with topiary, landscaped space, and water features.

A very beautiful building with white design. The orchid garden was very lovely. My favorite was the butterfly garden. The staff told me there were more than 2000 butterflies here, but I think they have less…. In general the experience was nice. I spent about 1 hour here. If you plan 1 day to visit Columbus, buy a 1-day pass of the city will be cheaper than buying separate tickets. I bought a pass a went to The Conservatory and the Zoo/Aquarium.

This is truly a Columbus gem! There is so much packed into this building, but by following the free, numbered map they provide at check-in, you should be able to see everything and experience each room or “climate” within two hours. They have such a great diversity of plants and flowers! This is a kid-friendly place, just be respectful of those who are there without kids looking to have a quieter experience. There is a small section along the self-guided tour where parents can stop and rest while kids play around with the kid-friendly, touchable exhibit. There are also plenty of places to sit throughout the entire building. The staff is very friendly and kind, especially in the gift shop. This place is so beautiful that I wish I could’ve been married here! My husband and I visited on the weekday (on a Wednesday specifically) so it was quieter and we didn’t have a wait. I do recommend buying your tickets online in advance. And if you have a Dawes Arboretum membership, you might get a small discount on tickets! That’s not guaranteed, so be sure to check before buying.

My husband and I visited the conservatory as our anniversary date. It was a really great experience and everything is absolutely beautiful. It's worth the 3 hour drive. Can't wait to take my daughter and granddaughter when the weather warms up. There's so much to see outside that we missed because it's February.

Stunning! We came for Conservatory Aglow with our kids (9 and 12). The lights were very impressive, and we loved the music throughout. We spent about an hour outside, grabbed some hot cocoa, and then toured the botanical gardens. There was so much to see! Well worth the money - will definitely return.

Love coming hear at any point of the year. It's a great little paradise in the middle of the city. Went to see the orchid showcase today and was not disappointed. The railway they have built outside is incredibly unique and I could look for hours at all the details. Great outdoor play are for kids too!

  • 5/5 Irene H. 3 years ago on Google
Our toddler loved the model railway outdoor display. We found it enchanting and took many photos and videos. We also loved the children’s gardens and all the activities it offered. It’s a good idea to bring swimwear and a change of clothes so that your child can paddle in the water. Our only suggestion is that we would have liked maps to be displayed in the conservatory to help us get our bearings as we walked around.

  • 5/5 Brandi T. 3 years ago on Google
Visited to see the Conservatory Aglow and it was spectacular! I really enjoyed the garden scale train the most. A lot of thought and creativity went into making this all happen and the effort shows. It was also really fun wandering through the Conservatory at night. I never imagined the vibe being that different. Added bonus we got to see the gingerbread house entries, something we’ve grown to look forward to every year.

What a beautiful way to spend a couple of hours! You can visit a tropical rainforest, Himalayan mountains, the desert, a Bonsi courtyard or Chihuly glass exhibits here. Such a wide variety of plants to see. The grounds outside are just as beautiful as those inside. Definitely a day well spent!

  • 5/5 Thang T. 3 years ago on Google

this is a pretty neat collection of plants! i do wish they had more of them labeled.. we also missed seeing the palm room since it was rented out for a wedding while we were there. the miniature railroad park outside is charming. personal opinion here but this place might be better worth the entrance fee in spring when the outdoor spaces are green and blooming..

This conservatory is incredible and has ample outdoor space to explore and enjoy. Aside from the beautiful botanical features, there are also stunning glass pieces complementing the plants making it feel more magical. Seasonal exhibits such as their winter train set keep the conservatory new and interesting for returning visitors so check out what they have on display at the time you are visiting. There is also a cute indoor shop and seating as well as venue areas for events.

Very, very nice place with both indoor and outdoor areas to explore, including an area for the kids outside. Plenty of parking.

Franklin Park Conservatory is one of my favorite spots in Columbus. I’ve taken friends and my family here many times, and everyone has enjoyed the experience! If you like to visit regularly, the membership plans are a great deal. It’s wonderful to have a relaxing green space to retreat to when living in the city. The ever-changing exhibits and events will bring you back! My favorite part is the Pacific Island Water Garden. I love to visit the koi fish, and the Blooms & Butterflies exhibit was amazing! :) Big fan of the sky hammock in the Children’s Garden, too!

This place is beautiful and the staff are all very friendly. Nice place to go on a Sunday morning before brunch. Very good for kids to learn about different plants and environments. Ultimately, I don’t think it’s worth the price, but I do know they offer specials on some days.

Amazing familiar experience. The botanical areas are really pretty! We love the figures made of plants. Really artistic place and joyable for people of every age. If the weather conditions are good, the outside gardens are spectacular and the train is amazing. They have food and restrooms inside . Definitely worth it.

This conservatory is truly amazing. Whether you are coming to see the flowers, to entertain your children in the kid area, or just want to see the butterflies, this place has much to offer for everybody. The Halloween event is especially nice. I recommend becoming a member. I can promise you that you won’t regret buying a membership. In summary, the conservatory is an amazing place, with something for everyone.

The staff was very patient and kind (went for a kindergarten field trip). They were amazing with the children and very knowledgeable!! Its absolutely beautiful! I will be going back soon! I don't remember it being that beautiful when I had my senior pics done there several years ago. Lol DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! ❤️

This was a great way to spend the day. The park had a really easily navigable layout that was stroller friendly. There are several different areas to check out, each with its own vibe.

Great for anyone! We come here for homeschooling trips or if we just need to get out of the house. It's handicap and stroller accessible too. We come every year to see the butterflies. There is always something going on anytime of the year! Huge selection of things to do outside with the kiddos in the "Children's Garden". Beautiful flowers and many things to play on/with. If you have WIC you can get in for $3. Highly recommend visiting!! 🦋🌼

I have now visited the Conservatory twice and will continue to go each time I visit Columbus. Such a lovely place to spend a few hours. As a bonus, my fiancé and I went while they had their butterfly exhibit! A lovely surprise.

Love it every time! My kids love it, too. The children's gardens are awesome. We also love all the indoor spaces and the outdoor trains. We come several times per year. And it's especially cool during Pumpkins Aglow in the Fall and Conservatory Aglow at Christmas time.

Awesome spot! Fantastic way to spend a few hours, with locations both inside and outside. The bonsai exhibits were especially inspiring, personally. Food at the shops was good as well - I had the veggie bagel and would definitely get it again! It is a conservatory, so just expect some indoor areas to be hotter and/or more humid than outside! Only other minor complaint is I wish more of the plants were labeled. Would be hard to do given the size, of course, but would still be nice for the curious mind

This was enjoyable (although it was a hot day!) while we passed time for a flight out. They have a really nice kids outdoor garden/explore area, and a small area where the children can actually get into the water, so bring a towel and appropriate clothing/shoes if you want to participate. I like how many of the plants had cards identifying them. The gift shop is nice and they sell live plants. Wish they had a butterfly pavilion :D We purchased tickets online to ensure access, but it wasn't that busy when we went. It was not "cheap" for a family of 4 as non-members, we spent about 1.5-2 hrs here.

Lovely place for an afternoon walk and a chance to enjoy nature. The topiary section is really well done and although the bonsai section is a bit small, the trees are very well maintained. The miniature train exhibit that is currently hosted at the gardens is really worth ehile seeing. Very well done.

My wife and I had a good time here! Admission is a little pricey and could be less for what we saw. However, it was fun seeing all of the plants/flowers and they were all taken care of extremely well.

This was a nice place to visit as a visitor to Columbus. If you like plants and nature, you'll like this place. It was a bit pricey for what it was, in my opinion, but I trust that the funds are going toward maintenance and support of the conservatory.

Always a great place to spend an evening. Clean, organized, and really relaxing. We did a family trip for the evening to see the Pumpkins a'Glow event and it was raining. We brought umbrellas and had a great time. Go to the lighting events when you can, just wait until it's dark. Best place to walk and unwind for the evening.

We went here for pumpkins aglow. It was a family friendly Halloween event. (Although the gentleman directing parking had some colorful language to describe a free for all parking situation...it was very busy for a week night apparently) The map provided was of the Conservatory; not of the event, and it was really too dark to read outside anyways. The pumpkins were all displayed really well and themed. There were some unused spaces that might have been good for treat stations. We went on a week night and found some of the entertainment only available on the weekend. I do wish that had been reflected in the price we paid for tickets. The food truck area did not have enough seating on a weeknight, the bar also ran out of coctail mix by 7:15pm. We had fun, and will likely return but would like to spend the day.

This place is beautiful. We had to plan our first visit well because the first time we tried to go here, it was on the first Sunday of the month when it's free for county residents. We highly recommend not going then because you won't find a parking spot and it's stupid crowded. Instead, we went the day before and we nearly had the place to ourselves. The building has lots of history and we found out the fiddle leaf fig they have here is at least 100 years old and the largest fiddle leaf fig indoors in the United States. I would like to go back for other events and even though we don't live in Columbus, I would consider getting a pass here. They have a lot for little kids and our daughter (2) loved it.

Fabulous place, great for special occasions or just regular days! Really nice now that its getting cold to feel like your outside in the tropics. Its a fantastic mental health boost and of course tons of great picture backdrops

Gorgeous botanical garden. Butterfly garden had a lot of activity and no wait to enter. Butterflies are more active on sunny days! Great spot to take photos and don’t miss out on the outdoor areas. The gift shop is reasonably priced and a good size.
