Remarkable breakfast diner. First rate hospitality by the staff, they are friendly, give utmost attention about their customers from the time they enter to exit. Breakfast omelettes are well done. House blend coffee is refreshing. Home made potato fries are tasteful. Gets busy as the day goes as they serve lunch too. There is outdoor seating too. They serve some special desserts which I am gonna try on my next visit.

They have the BEST service here of any restaurant I have been to in Columbus! The food is also fantastic!! This may be our new regular place. Absolutely loved it!

Food is great, but customer service is better. Heard about this spot and went to check it out. Not the best breakfast I ever had. Needs a little bit more seasoning, but I'm from the South. Most of the food we ate in Ohio needed extra seasoning, lol

My housemates and I stopped here for breakfast while on an 18+ hour road trip. We didn’t know it was a diner and was hoping to get take out. They were really accommodating when we walked in and let us sit down to order. The waitress was patient and good hearted which meant a lot since there were five of us and we were all ordering separately. The food came out quickly and was delicious! Great portions for a great price. I got the eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Plus toast! My friends got: Greek Omelette, Veggie Omelette with GF bread, Western Omelette, and a coffee. My housemates all said it was “Amazing!” They also gave my housemate her coffee for free. Great Mom and Pop joint! Definitely recommend.

Stopped in for breakfast and had a great experience! Got the potato pancakes (latkes) and French toast and would absolutely recommend both. The food was 10/10 amazing and the employees were so friendly and kind, they all seemed genuinely happy to be there. The decor is so welcoming and clean and lively. I wish I lived in the area because Scotty's Cafe is the kind of place I'd return to over and over.

Really good home cooked style food. Owners are incredibly friendly and always moving around talking to people. An amazing place for great food and great people. They even have Diet RC which I have never seen before! Update: This continues to be a favorite spot. Scotty and his wife always talk to us and make sure the food is great and that everything is good. You must try the blintzes and potato latkas. They are amazing!

After an amazing tasting at the Cafe' we hired Scotty for our customer event at our CEO's house for 75 guests. Scotty and his team, including his family, made our event a truly memorable experience for everyone in attendance! Not only was the food terrific, unique, and fresh, but their service and personal attention to every detail made me look like a genius for hiring them. We were so happy to work with Scotty's Catering and will gladly use them again for our next event. They treat you like part of their family and provide a one-of-a-kind experience that is hard to beat! Thank you again for everything...we truly appreciate all your hard work.

WOW! Simply WOW! Excellent Food and Service! If you think authentic customer service is gone... Try Scotty's!!!! My Mother and I went for Breakfast and they made it easy to impress Mom. Coffee stayed filled, the food was hot, and the smiles kept coming. I'm impressed.

This was my first time visiting Scotty's cafe. I was immediately greeted with overwhelming friendliness from all of the staff. This continued throughout my dining experience. I also noticed a great level of teamwork throughout my stay. I ordered a hot pastrami & swiss on rye toasted. This was the best sandwich I've had in a very long time. You can tell that everything is made from scratch. The vibe is casual and laid back. I highly recommend you visit and see for yourself.

This was my first time at this place I was really impressed with service and the cleanliness of the restaurant and it really matters when cooks come and ask how the food is that shows they take pride in their food and they care about the customers experience. The bacon was cooked as I requested. My potatoes where fresh and not greasy the pancake was great much more than I can eat definitely something to share or get a doggy bag. My colleague was also happy with his meal it he got a egg white omelet. Let the pictures tell the story as well.

WOW!! ! We stopped in for breakfast today and everything was delicious. Had The Schmoozer, French Toast and Bunny’s Cheese Blintzes. The Schmoozer is freshly made potato latkes with corned beef and over easy eggs. The latkes were the BEST!!! Crispy on the edges, thick, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Adding the corned beef and eggs makes it the ultimate. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The blintzes…oh man were they amazing! Soft pillows of blintze wrapped around a light, creamy center and lightly browned. Top with sour cream and jam. The sheer joy on my husband’s face said it all! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The French Toast was really off the charts! A recommendation from our waitress Yvette and even though we were full we still ate them. =) Made on their house made cinnamon bread, lightly toasted and tender in the center with syrup. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! On top of all the wonderful food, the customer service was above and beyond too! It’s rare to see such positive interaction consistently among staff. Our waitress was so very nice and the owner went to every table talking with customers. THANK YOU! We’ll be back.

The portions here are awesome! The rice has been cooked perfectly everytime I've been there and the customer service is awesome. The flavors here are very unique, it almost tastes like a cross between Indian and Mediterranean cuisine and I love it! Their spicy rice is incredible super flavorful but if you can't handle spicy food it's not for you. But I highly recommend their spicy rice. They just recently added mango chicken and that is super good, but honestly I feel like where their food shines is in how awesome their cooked veggies are. The chick peas are cooked perfectly, their cabbage is tender, their spinach is full of flavor and their lentils are great. I haven't tried the goat but I wouldn't be surprised if it was great. 10 out of ten would recommend!

Scotty’s is absolutely delightful. All the employees were ultra friendly and service was quick. I had the Reuben Sandwich, it was delicious with a side of fries. At the end of our meal they brought a snowman marshmallow for my daughter.

My husband took me here for my birthday breakfast. He’s been a few times and It was my first of MANY visits to come. The place was packed but each server, including the owners Scottie and Gina made us feel like we were royalty. Found out that Gina and I share the same special day and Scottie had the entire restaurant sing happy birthday to us. I felt so very special! The food was amazing! Great big portions too. My favorite was the French toast, best I’ve had in years. Will definitely be back. Thanks for such an unforgettable day Scottie and Gina, I’ll remember it always!

The number of stars that I seen for this placed seemed unreal so I had to give it a try. Customer service here was nothing short of great. Went around 11 in the morning and was seated and food served within 15mins of being there. Food was made to perfection, waitress stopped pass often, and was not price gouged when going to pay. This place is not the biggest so get there early or call ahead for a large party. Food was fresh and portions were great IMO. Worth a try

Wow. Legit grub and pastries in the heart of Columbus. Don’t let the bad 80’s-strip-mall facade throw you off. Sweet breakfast with incredible waffles and a complete diner menu. And then, home made pastries and cakes for dessert or the road. Whaaaaaat? Finally, the nicest Americana service and vibe. Holy heartland!

Oh my goodness. I've never had flavors like this before. I think I've been missing out! I got their sweet and spicy chicken it was delicious! I actually asked for smaller portions, so don't let my picture deceive you. Each rice bowl comes with two sides and I only asked for one. The spinach was very good and I wish I had gotten that second side! I wish we lived closer, I would be here often.

Covud friendly, clean environment and great staff. Chose this place after we didn't make it in time for our breakfast at the hotel. Great reviews and nobody lied. Located right down the street from the Botanical Gardens (2.3) miles. F Glad we ate here. Coming from Cleveland so we don't know the small mom and pops places so if we're in town again, we will be back.

This is a small restaurant. Not a lot of parking available. But the food and service is amazing! 🥰 I had an omelet and it was fresh and hot and made just the way I like it. Nice and juicy. The coffee was also very good.

First time there was AMAZING!! I had the bowl chicken Suqaar..Mango juice it was so flavorful and clean. Think of it as a Somalian Chipotle style place..just WAY more flavor...DELISH...

I'm so glad that we were directed to Scotty's Cafe coming from another Cafe that we're supposed to hold a meeting. The food was exceptional, the service was great and the prices are reasonable and I forget to ask the name of our server but she's very helpful and so friendly.

Always fantastic. Great food, incredible staff, amazing owners. Their daily specials are so good but it's hard to not get the garden sampler a scoop of each tuna salad, chicken salad, and egg salad, sliced red onions, dill pickle spear, sliced tomato, lettuce, cucumber, your choice of bread (the everything bagel is a must), and a side (can't go wrong with your choice but I love the pasta salad.

I tried Hoyos out this past weekend and can say that it is easily the best thing I've had at North Market in years! The young woman behind the counter was very helpful explaining the dishes to me and made a wonderful recommendation. The food was fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice (mango spicy chicken). I can't wait to go back and will be making a special trip back to North Market just to have Hoyo's Kitchen again!

I came out of town specially for this place. Heard about it from my husband who came here few times and really wanted to try it. Unfortunately, the whole north market place is closed! No number to call. No announced working hours. Nothing It was very frustrating to drive over 25 min from my hotel to this place and find it closed with no response. Would you please put a phone number and working hours on your google maps location so no one has to experience this again?

I came here with my mom last week for the first time and we had an amazing experience. This was the most genuinely kind, warm cafe environment I’ve ever been in. The owners, Gina and Scotty, we so sweet and friendly and every single staff member was so nice. It truly felt like it was more than just a job for everyone who worked there and that they genuinely enjoyed their job. And on top of all that, the food was excellent and the prices were unbeatable. This place was so wholesome and had an amazing vibe. Will be coming here with my mom every time I am back home in Columbus!

My son wanted pancakes for his birthday, best pancakes ever! Everything was amazing, omlette, tomato basil soup, french toast, bagel, we even got 2 Miriam sandwiches to take home and they were great too! We have been all over Columbus to breakfast but our first time here, we will definitely be back! Thanks so much for a great birthday brunch for Christians!!

Our first visit to Scotty's was disappointing to say the least. We were only the 3rd table in the restaurant on a Monday at 9am, our server came up and took our drink order, once drinks were dropped off he didn't come back, there were a lot of people in the back but our server disappeared. We had to leave because we only had a short time for breakfast, we expected a lot more. Not sure we'll try it again. Also please fix the spelling error on your table tents.

Scotty’s Cafe was the most wonderful dinning experience we have had in Ohio. This place felt like home, from the perfectly prepared food to the attentive service. All employees seemed happy and to enjoy their jobs. This is just a perfect little place . We were well taken care of and felt like serving us was important. What a place! Loved it!

We was gonna try something different. Totally new experiences for our special day out. First restaurant was closed during business hours. No explanation. Second place and good distance away said closed note on door said due to system being down. Third place took forever to find parking. Walked in and there was two tables open. Was told they are reserved for three people only and there is only two of us. So we left. So we decided to go to a place we both had been to. Ended up at lucky table #13 at Scotty’s Cafe. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere and they will serve two people! LOL it was our anniversary morning we wanted breakfast together and was all over from Gahanna to Easton to Columbus trying to get breakfast. Scotty’s will not disappoint. I’ve eaten there before and great experience and my spouse eats there often for lunch. Scotty come over and have us a cupcake and announced our Anniversary to the restaurant to congratulate us and it was so heartwarming. Our waitress took our photo for us and we had the best time. Thank you for taking amazing care of us celebrating with us! 20 years married.

I had the best breakfast at Scotty’s Cafe! The atmosphere was so friendly, the whole staff really felt like a family! My server Krista was very attentive and made sure I was taken care of, along with the rest of the crew! The desserts were so good! I tried the carrot cake and the lemon bar. 10/10 highly recommend.

Best Somali food I’ve had in awhile, love their unique spin on it too. Mango lime chicken & suqaar was amazing. Also they’re soo nice!! Definitely will be back!

Great spot for a traditional American breakfast! Service was impeccable, seriously the nicest staff and the owners wife even was coming around asking if I needed anything and how I was doing. Food was pretty good, a little greasy but good home style food. I also ordered a hot tea with my meal and appreciated that they gave another little serving of hot water with my tea.

Best customer experience EVER in dining. This was a lunch to remember. Top rate restaurant/cafe and deli. From the minute you walk in to the minute you walk out, they make you feel like a part of their family. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and whether your a first timer or a regular, Scotty’s smile will brighten your day.

Breakfast (at noon) was outstanding! Greek omelet, homefries and wheat toast. Was our first visit and we were treated to a half order of french toast on the house. Service excellent! Seated as soon as we walked in, coffee cup was never empty. Waitress, Evette, was so friendly. Even the owners were out greeting customers. Took home some yummy carrot cake for later. Will be back!!!

Absolutely delicious! This was my first time eating Somali food but it was a great experience. I feel encouraged to try more dishes. During my first trip I tried a Goat meat bowl, with half and half rice topped with cabbage and spinach and my preferred cold toppings. At the recommendation of the owner paired with my taste preferences I had the traditional hot sauce on top of my entree. I had a beef sambusa and a sabiyad on the side. I feel like the sabiyad enhanced my meal and the sambusa was delicious. I will definitely be back to Hoyo's Kitchen.

Such a good meal! My husband and I booked bar seating because that is all that was available on short notice, but I'm actually glad that's what we had. The bar vibe seems much livelier and more our style than the dining rooms. We also felt like we could take our time a bit more rather than ordering…

The vibes here are incredible! The owners are so wonderful and the staff are super positive and helpful. This place feels like community and the best parts of Columbus. The food is delicious and large portions! They gave us a reservation for a large group of our co-workers and it was the best day out for lunch we’ve had! This was our first time at this restaurant and we were so glad we came, we will be back! Also the desserts are delicious!

The mango chicken here was phenomenal! For sides I got the lentils and chick peas. I am not sure which one, but one of them was so spicy I was in tears. Very good food tho, would totally recommend.

Great little find. Had breakfast and the staff was great. It takes a while if you order the French toast. I loved my omelet. The place filled up quickly and lots of great reviews made me stop in. It was great. Will have to come back and try the Ruben sandwich next time. Very clean.

A very welcome addition to the North Market! Despite only being open for 3 days, the food was extremely good! The wrap with beef was delicious, a great blend of spices with well cooked beef wrapped in a delicious buttery bread. The chicken sambusa had a great texture and taste. The staff was very friendly and it's nice to see some counter seating!

This place is amazing. The spices..the flavors they crank out of these dishes are so uniquely delicious. I've eaten all types of food from all over, and Hoyo's does it right. They always deliver with fresh, healthy ingredients and very generous portions. To make it an all-around great experience, the staff is always very warm and friendly when I stop by for lunch. Highly recommended!

As a fat man the food here is amazing.. hands down one of the top 5 meals I’ve ever had in my life. Everything is delicious and aromatic the rice and mango chicken will transport you to another moment in life it’s so damn good.

I kept hearing such great things about this place and I was blown away. the vegetarian option is great. I could probably eat the sambusas until I made myself sick. the people were wonderful as well even in the hectic North Market. will definitely be back soon!

Delicious. If you like slightly sour things then you have to try an injera flatbread. So good. And man, their ginger pineapple lemonade is insane.

Chickpeas and rice is my current favorite.

Hoyos is bomb! So flavorful, tastes like nothing else I’ve ever had. The portion is huge and you can easily make a bowl multiple meals. And all the veggies makes for a healthy-feeling food for eating out.

Top-notch friendly and fast service, perfectly prepared, fresh and flavor-filled; rice, chicken suqaar, cabbage, onion, peppers, and spinach. And very reasonably priced, too, one portion is enough for two meals. Wow! Can’t wait for my next visit.

Had it for the first time yesterday, staff kept area very neat they didn’t mind explaining all the choices to me and knew about each item. Food was incredible had the Mango Habanero Chicken and the sweet to heat ratio was perfect. Going back today to try something else.

We were looking for someplace close to the airport for breakfast and saw reviews for this place. It is a gem! We were immediately welcomed by Yvette. I got an omelet that was great but the bagel stole the show...the best I have had in years. Everything was top notch. The staff is incredible. It felt like a neighborhood secret that we discovered. We will be back whenever we are in the area.

Amazing first time experience! I heard phenomenal reviews about Scotty's and finally found the time to make it over. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly and our kids were offered goldfish to hold them over as we were seated. Not only was the food incredible but their service and atmosphere, along with the friendliness of everyone really made the place. I wish I could give their place more stars. Somali food was new to me, but I was very excited to try Hoyo's kitchen and I am glad I did. The staff were so friendly as I asked for help ordering, and I really liked what I ordered. The portions are huge, so I was actually able to split it into 2 lunches. You should definitely try it!

Visited Scotty's today after a recommendation from a close friend and it did not disappoint. My brother-n-law and I split the Reuben along with the open face Meatloaf sandwich. Both were fantastic! Topped it off with some carrot cake for dessert. Yum! The staff was awesome and the owner even came out to greet us. Service was top notch all around. We will be back!

Hidden gem of Columbus

So today I took a trip to the North Market with my uncle, btw I'm visiting from out of town, and we had lunch at Hoyo's. I'm familiar with the curry and Indian food because my husband is Bengalese, but today was my first time trying Somali food, and LET👏 ME 👏TELL👏 YOU👏 The sambusas are to die for, The chicken and goat meat was amazing, flavorful, and tender. The basmati rice was super vibrant and delicious, and then they had cold toppings to put on, and the portions are HUGE..... needless to say after a 2 hr nap I'm still full from this afternoon, but I am looking forward to having leftovers for dinner 😋😋😋

Amazing food. I had the goat with spicy rice and my wife had the goat with the Somali Basmati rice and both were fantastic. We also had the Sambusa which tasted amazing. I had never thought about Somali food as a “thing”, Hoya’s is now definitely on the list of places to go for great food.

EXCELLENT!!! My family and I found this place by accident and I'm so glad we did! Staff here is amazing, very friendly, and attentive! We ordered breakfast food which was delicious,warm, and plate sizes are pretty big! We will definitely be coming back with our family to try the lunch menu next! Great place with yummy food

Wow, wow, and wow! This was my first time at this cafe and it was amazing. First, the service was outstanding, the girl that served me was kinda new but extremely sweet and attentive, she’s from Venezuela but I can’t remember her name unfortunately. The food came out hot and was delicious as well as visually appetizing. Another lady(Manager or owner, not sure) was amazing, and also extremely kind and helpful. This is some of the best service I’ve had and I will be a frequent customer because of my outstanding experience and I highly recommend Scotty’s Cafe.
