Man, I really wanted to give this a full five stars on everything because I love this place AND recommended it to my significant other's family but one of our orders got messed up not once but twice which really turned them off from the place. Although that was disappointing, they still enjoyed the food. Holy smokes the food really is worth it. Their famous breakfast tacos are incredible and my significant other really enjoyed his buttermilk brined chicken sandwich. Definitely get there early because the Harrison West location is small and seats can be hard to come by. I also completely love the vibes of this place and I really enjoyed getting to leave my mark - literally. The chalk and markers that allow you to write on the walls and table are so cool! I absolutely still recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a fun breakfast in Columbus. PS. Definitely get the blood orange juice. It's the best I've ever had!

Rating is 3.5. Parking is very limited so you may have to find some street parking nearby. Restaurant is very small with limited seating. Staff was very pleasant and welcoming. You order at the register and then they bring it out to you. We ordered breakfast tacos, Mexican French toast, and pumpkin-apple butter pancake balls with sweet and spicy bacon strips. Breakfast tacos were the winner here. All of the ingredients were fresh and combined taste was heavenly. Unfortunately, the Mexican French toast and pancake balls were the downfall. Mexican French toast tasted just like conventional French toast just at a higher price. Pancake balls I wanted more of that pumpkin-apple butter filling in each bite. It just wasn’t enough. The sweet and spicy bacon was very tasty. Orange juice was very refreshing. Prices are expensive. If you eat inside then you can draw on the tables and walls.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! Most items on menu had vegetarian option and some vegan options too. Good R&B and soul music vibe. But the place has only 3 parking spots and indoor seating capacity of 15-20 people. So plan accordingly. Great vibe and great food!

I wanted to try a new brunch place so my friend recommended Katalina's. We arrived around 11 am and there was a small line to order so we had to wait outside for a few minutes. After we were able to move inside and order, we were told we would have to wait until a table was free so we could be seated. There was another couple ahead of us already waiting so we kinda had to stand out of the way for 10-15ish minutes lol. The staff was friendly and tried to urge people who were just lounging about to wrap up their visit. Once a table was free, someone brought out our food and we were able to be seated. I ordered the Mexican French Toast with bacon and my friend ordered some type of breakfast tacos with street corn. 🌮 🌽 Overall, the French toast was okay. My total was a lil over $17 which seemed kinda steep for such a basic meal and a cup of hot black tea. 😅 The decor/atmosphere was fun and lively and there are paint markers on the table so that guests can draw or write on basically anything in the restaurant. Overall, the price for the experience is what hindered my impression. I'm sure in the summer months this spot is a great find, but the size of the restaurant really limits the ability to truly take in and enjoy the experience. I'd be open to come here again when the weather is warm and I'll sit outside.

Excellent breakfast. Small place/small seating inside. Outdoor seating is currently closed due to weather I believe. Breakfast menu is great, we ordered four different types and everything was deliciously made. My photos should have the item name. Reasonable pricing. Friendly Staff. There was waiting during our visit. Ambience inside is artistic, all hand writings by customers with colorful markers. Parking in front of the restaurant is just for two cars however there should be parking behind the restaurant and lots of street parking too.

First timer! Picturesque little place in Columbus, parking is behind the establishment just by Pennsylvania ave, it's free if you're a customer. Tried the award winning tacos and their pancake balls. It's an experience if you've never been, while I don't see myself coming back (I'm not a breakfast person) but I definitely can recommend it if you're in town. Enjoy!

I came here with my mom for lunch on a Sunday. It was busy but not too packed. We ordered the Hen's in a Basket($15.95 and the Everything but the Chicken Sink Sammy($16.95). The food was delicious! I think my favorite was the Hen's in a Basket. The Sammy was good and filling! The service was great. The patio space is cute. We will definitely be back. They also have free parking in the back.

Mostly self serve breakfast hotspot tucked away among the neighborhood with wonderful outdoor seating. Great find. Just don't sit immediately next to all the blooming flowers unless you want to complete for your meal with local bees. 🐝

Great service, however the prices of the food has went up a bit more so I don't get to visit as much as I use to. Also it's CARD only no cash. I personally find that a tad annoying but sill a good place to eat.

Great atmosphere. Fun visit with my daughter, who wanted to go for the pancake balls. I thought they were just right and was worried it would be too rich, where she, on the other hand, was expecting a "gob" of Nutella and was a little disappointed. Lol! The bacon was amazing. The food took a while to get, but it was packed and totally understandable. (It was a Sunday morning, about 11 am, with gorgeous weather and Pride weekend in Cbus.) The place is very cute and friendly. I happened to use the restroom, which was fine overall, but it could definitely use a good scrubbing on the baseboards and whatnot. It's probably because I'm aging, but I sadly notice this a lot in public restrooms and always makes me wonder about the kitchen. I suppose I could do without this comment, but I'd also want to know if I was a business owner. Can look grimy if you know what I mean. Overall... I'd go back in a heartbeat & recommend it to others for sure. We'll be back. Loved it.

Stopped by randomly on our road trip, just searched for vegetarian food near us, and ended up lucking into probably the best meal we've had in Ohio! We got the vegetarian breakfast tacos and the avocado toast, both were outstanding! The menu had a BUNCH of vegetarian options, and there was a collection of hot sauces at the table ranging from sweet and mild to bold and spicy. The outdoor dining atmosphere was super friendly and very casual.

Great pancake balls! Loved the vibe. Outside was full so sat inside. Which was fine as it was hot out. Parking was no issue. Cute place to check out with great food.

This was an amazing find! The staff were excellent, the food was mouth wateringly delicious, and the atmosphere was an amazing vibe. Loved that they give each table paint pens to add your mark on the space! It's a very small cafe, not many seats but we were able to sit without waiting. I had the Mexican french toast and it was incredible! Pancake balls were a hit with my friend. Highly recommend this place for a quirky place to eat!

Came here on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 8AM. It was nice and empty before the rush came in! The inside fills up pretty quickly since it’s a small space. On first glance the interior is covered up with paint markings as they leave paint markers on the tables for you to write on the tables and walls. Fun touch of creativity. For food we got the pancake balls, breakfast tacos, pork breakfast sandwich, and purple hash potatoes. Everything was delicious and tasted high quality! Our favorite was the pork breakfast sandwich which was juicy and flavorful with a nice toasted bread texture. The breakfast tacos were our least favorite and I wouldn’t order those again - they lacked flavor and the tortilla was just okay. We also had some coffee which is self serve and they have almond milk and honey on the side if that’s your jam! Love this cute, quaint, and creative place and wish more breakfast places were like this!

Love this place for brunch always! The best breakfast tacos & omg the pancake balls!!!! I only took off a star because this visit I feel like they SEVERELY lessened the quality of the pancake balls. Usually they’re oozing filling (I like Nutella), and this time I had like the teeniest bit in each it was practically empty pancake balls. Very very disappointing! But I love the vibes and the food overall. Def must try, esp love their accommodations for GF and vegetarian!

Delicious brunch with the lady. They are def famous for their pancake balls for sure. They had different fillings but chose the pumpkin apple butter. It came with your choice of bacon which we did the sweet and spicy. Nice and blazing hot to order with some syrup to dip. We also shared the breakfast taco which is the best of both worlds (brunch baby!) of eggs and chorizo. Def going back to try the other items on the menu like the chicken breakfast sandwich.

I went for brunch with my family yesterday and we loved it! The patio is so colorful and beautiful! I look forward to enjoying it when the weather is not cold. We sat inside and I was amazed by the personality of the place. The decoration is the handwriting of the customers. You can write anywhere: on the chairs, tables, walls, even the floor or the ceiling if you can reach it! There are markers available for you to leave the personal mark of your visit. This makes the place unique. My two favorite things on the menu were the fresh orange juice (this is so difficult to find, so it’s a treasure!) and the pork and egg sandwich. This is already my favorite breakfast sandwich in Columbus. I also loved the tortilla chips, very fresh and delicious, and the variety of spicy sauces. The place is small inside, but if you find a spot, you will enjoy the ambiance. The staff was very kind. It was my birthday, and I was very pleased with the experience. We will come back.

Canadian review: great vibes in the joint. Really appreciate the quick service. The tacos were on point and so was the cheesy pulled pork egg sandwich! My mom loved both. Oh and the blood orange juice was a nice drink to pair!

I live right by here and I finally made it over for brunch! I always knew it was small from walking by and when I walked inside I confirmed that there are only a few tables and bar seats, but they do lots of take out it seems. The entire place is covered in writing due to the markers left on every table, which was a cool vibe. I got everything but the chicken sink which is essentially a fried chicken sandwich with French toast as the bread - the chicken was good but not super crispy and the French toast was kind of meh. We also got the pancake balls with apple and pumpkin butter, which were delicious! I ended up eating the chicken out of my sandwich, skipping the French toast, and eating more pancake balls. My bf got the toast with egg on the inside and spicy/sweet bacon. I think he thought his meal was good, but nothing crazy! Overall I thought it was good, but I won’t be shouting from the rooftops about it.

Went to Katalina's for weekend lunch, ordered (i) Hen's-in-a-basket and (ii) Ms.Katalina's Migas. The first one had two toasted bread with a centered circular cut filled with over-&-easy egg, the centered part of each toast fried and topped with two bacons and,cube-cut fried purple potatoes. The second one had four pieces of toasted bread cut in half-heart shape and generously topped with avocado paste with seasoning and roasted nuts and, scrambled eggs with cheese and green onions. The food were all good except the scrambled eggs which I found a bit oily to have in the morning. Purple potatoes was different and had that for the first time. It was ~$35-40 for two people. If you are new to this place, go inside to place your order and get your order no., you may sit inside or outside, they'll serve you at your table. The place inside is smaller and walls are heavily painted, probably by the guests, outside you'll find picnic table type arrangement with a adjustable (tilted) hamid. This place gets filled up quickly and you may have to wait for a while especially on the weekends. There's a parking lot infront and at the back as well.

Cute little hidden brunch spot. The chicken sandwich was the best thing I have ordered at this location, unfortunately I didn’t like anything else here. Service was great!

Katalina's is a hidden gem, tucked away in Columbus, Ohio, near OSU. I love the artsy decor and how many customers signed their names on the walls. The menu is pretty straightforward with the selection of delicious Latin cuisine. They offer breakfast and lunch options. Also, local brewed teas and drinks. I will say I have tried many hibiscus drinks, and this one was weak. It wasn't sweet, even though it said it had cane sugar. I tried the avacado toast, and it was okay. The Holy Tomole soup was delicious.

Set in a beautiful victorian neighborhood, great unique atmosphere and a truely unique imagining of breakfast. EVERYTHING was delicious. If I lived in columbus, I would want to live nearby just to eat there anytime I wanted. Very lgbtq+ friendly, which I love.

As someone just visiting for the weekend it became apparent Katalina's was the place to go after a few locals recommended it. To order, you have to go inside and place your order at the counter before getting a number and finding your own table. There's some indoor seating and a large patio as well. The Migas and Avocado Toast were delicious and the cold brew was great as well (if a little small for the price).

Very cool looking place great menu and delicious food, however, the young woman ringing us up literally rolled her eyes a few times and could not have been more apathetic when we asked questions about the menu. It's a shame that it only takes one person to bring an entire dining experience down.

Great local joint in Columbus that you have to try! A must is the pancake balls! The chicken was amazing, reminding me of my grandmother's chicken.

Fabulous lunch stop while passing through Columbus. My Grilled cheese and Holy Tomole soup was perfect. My husbands BLT tacos were unique and very good. Just. the right amount of food for lunch. Service was excellent. We will definitely stop by again!

Was passing through Columbus on a road trip and ate here. The staff was awesome and very responsive to whatever questions you have. The food is not only extremely delicious, they give you a very generous amount and they bring it out to you in a very timely manner. As a VEGETARIAN, it was awesome seeing that they had plant based meatless options. They cleaned the tables in between customers.

The most delicious food to enjoy on their outdoor patio. Service was great too. Celebrated our 15 wedding anniversary today at brunch while the kiddos were at school!

Retro and hip spot.. super duper crowded over the weekend.. food was delicious.. must try the fresh orange juice.. Pancake balls with Nutella - mind blowing 😍

  • 4/5 Alexander P. 2 years ago on Google
Had the pancake balls (with pumpkin-apple filling) and a side of sweet and spicy bacon. Now the food was phenomenal and the bacon had a nice kick to it, but what cost it 5 stars was that this dish alone was $14. I was able to demolish it in under 3 minutes. Didn't fill me up, but was very good. Had takeout so not sure about the atmosphere.
