Really one of the better Italian restaurants I’ve been to in Columbus and for some of the dishes some of my favorite in memory. A really charming and shame place with curated service and a unique menu that was outstanding overall. We had the autumn menu and really loved the squash and burrata, the best dish of its kind I’ve ever tried. I’ll most definitely return soon!

Great experience! I had been craving fettucine alfredo for months, and I was told by many people that La Tavola was the best alfredo in the area. I would have to agree! I will say that it is ACTUAL fettucine alfredo. Meaning, it is almost straight cheese, with a lot less heavy cream/butter than one may be used to. Still, super good! I also got the tiramisu, which was amazing as well. Edit: I went back again, in person this time, and it was better than ever. I got this lovely pesto pasta, which was probably the best I've ever had. Our server (I don't remember her name, but she had a bunch of tattoos) was incredibly nice and helpful. The atmosphere was great, and everyone (servers, cooks, etc) all seemed like they genuinely enjoyed working there. Smiles all around!

Came here for husbands birthday dinner because he wanted chicken parm and this place filled his dream! A great Italian restaurant with delicious in house/local ingredients. Would definitely come here again. Highly recommend the burrata app, and the focaccia was to die for 😩🤤

I can't say enough about this place. Decided to go here for a very special occasion and everything just felt so personal and intimate. Not a very large place but the family style tables and decor felt like everyone was well taken care of. Food was incredible, pizza was to die for. Service was wonderful with great care for our experience. I HIGHLY recommend coming here and will certainly be coming back.

My husband and I cut our camping vacation short due to weather and went out for a nice dinner to end the week. I love handmade pasta and this is the best I've had in Columbus! I ordered the Gnocchi al Forno with prosciutto and my husband had the Pasta Bolognese. The Gnocchi was like small clouds of deliciousness with brussels sprouts that magically stayed crispy though smothered in cheese sauce (in a good way). Pasta Bolognese was perfectly Al Dente. Dessert was really great though if I'm being super nitpicky a tad dry towards the outside of the cake but perfect until reaching almost the edge and the ganache and cream cheese masked it. Server was excellent. We left full--the portion sizes were perfect in my opinion. The decor inside was casual but felt special, this was a great date night spot! Definitely get a reservation. we waited outside for 10 minutes before opening to make sure we got one of the two walk-in available tables. Someone washing the doors popped outside and told us he would put our names on the wait-list but then the host didn't seem to believe us when we said that happened--which was kind of strange. We still got a table but I wouldn't risk it in the future!

Every part of the meal was extraordinary, from the starters to the drinks to the meals. The Octopus Chitarra was so well done - the noodles were chewier than the octopus! The kitchen simply does an excellent job at any time or day of the week.

I had many times Italian restaurants in north end(Italian district)—Boston and loved it. Now I have to admit, this Italian restaurant is even better. Only thing is their menu a bit limited, I hope they can expand their menu to more dishes.

THE ONLY ITALIAN PLACE I'VE EVER WANTED TO GO BACK TO. ✔️ Delicious seasonal specials ✔️ Fantastic service ✔️ Nice ambiance ✔️ Decent portions ⚠️ Some of their regular menu items are alright. Nothing crazy. Everything we shared was from the seasonal specials: Agnolotti (5⭐) Halibut Fettuccine (4⭐) Mushroom Pizza (4⭐) Peach Pizza (4⭐) Bucatini + Meatballs (3⭐) Full transparency, I don't like Italian food and generally eat much of it. So I probably don't have the best opinion about it, also I have never been to Italy. That being said, this is the best Italian food I've ever had in my life.

We normally try a different Italian place every month and this is one of my favorites. The service is always wonderful and the wine is fantastic. The food is freshly prepared and delish. I do feel Italian food is always under seasoned. The crust on the tart was a bit too thick but the custard was great.

I went to La Tavola with my partner and had an amazing experience. We split an app, two mains, and two desserts, and along with two drinks each and a tip, our bill came just under $200. There’s a little outside seating but it’s on a busy street in front of a parking lot, so unless the weather is absolutely perfect, I’d recommend sitting inside for the full experience. Our waitress was incredibly wonderful and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. We got the Buratta starter on her recommendation which was absolutely amazing and maybe my favorite thing that night. The Spring Pea and Prosciutto Gnocci was also amazing, but our other main (a Chicken special, I forget what it was called) was just good, not great. We got the Lemon Tart and Chocolate Torte for dessert, both made by the chefs wife (who also makes all the bread in house: big props to her, all of the bread is amazing). I highly recommend saving room for dessert. We had enough food to bring a little home, but we didn’t come starving either. The focaccia (which was free) was also amazing. While the menu online says it changes daily, from what I can see, that’s mostly just specials. Most of the other things on the menu seemed consistent for at least a couple of weeks. I’d highly recommend going to La Tavola for a special night out! Great vibes, great food, and excellent drink options. We enjoyed our time there and would definitely come back.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and it did not disappoint! Erin, our server, was so attentive and friendly! I’ve truly never had better Italian food, and I will absolutely be going back! The food and ingredients are so well thought out, and executed perfectly. We also ended with the chocolate torte, and it was a must have.

We were looking for a local Italian restaurant and lucked out finding this gem. Service was great, recommendations were spot on and we will be coming back! Layla is a great server as well!

We loved the righteous service and suggestions for an out of this world meal at La Tavola by Layla so much we dined here the next evening as well! Score! They sat us within Layla's customer service quad tonight too. Happiness--the perfectly cooked scallop special was so good I ordered it again. Gnocchi with butternut squash and lamb, pizza with made from scratch Italian sausage, house made pasta with bolognese, pesto pasta with crispy fried chicken (to die for), and delicious fairly priced wines graced our table. Only neg--no Seattle satellite location. Thank goodness our son and d-n-l live here. A return in the near future!

Absolutely amazing! Simple. Fresh. Delicious Walk-in diners wound up on patio bc the restaurant was at capacity. Best decision ever - the weather was as incredible as our meal. We enjoyed a good mix of specials and regular menu items Caprese Sausage & pepper pasta Chicken Parm w/gnocchi Scratch-made experience began with the house bread and just progressed from there in quality of experience - the pasta is made in house and the menu is incredibly thoughtful. These hidden gem is well worth its salt and I cannot wait to return with a larger group to explore more of the menu in one shot!

We have been going to La Tavola consistently for the past few years. The food is fantastic, which goes without saying. By far the best Italian food in the city. But, most importantly, every time that we go in, we are treated like family. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant any higher.

  • 3/5 Arthur S. 10 months ago on Google
Their specialty is homemade pasta, but it’s still thick, almost like dumpling. I had their pasta Bolognese with meat sauce. The sauce is dark, strong and very salty. But their tiramisu was fantastic. I didn’t have room for it after dinner, but we got went to go.

An amazing rustic, expertly executed, authentic Italian dining experience. Farm to table daily specials, and you can tell everything was homemade. Get the house made fresh pasta, have a three course meal, you won't regret it

This was my first time dining at this lovely restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable! Being able to see the kitchen and watch the chefs work together was something special. They prepare each dish with so much passion and attention to detail. And of course the food was absolute perfection! La Tavola has easily now become my favorite authentic Italian restaurant in Columbus.

Really fine dining experience, -street side table outside on a beautiful evening in verdant Grandview. Service was excellent. Food was at or above par for price point. We expect to return to this place; our current fave restaurant. --Recommend arriving before the throng, <=5:30p

My husband and I made a reservation here for our four year anniversary after researching the top date spot in Columbus. We decided to sit outside given the pleasant weather and to be able to have a more intimate dinner setting together since inside the restaurant was kinda small. ❤️ The hostess and server were both very friendly and welcoming. We ordered our drinks, appetizers, and entrées shortly after we were seated and the first round of food arrived within a reasonable timeframe. My husband ordered the Peroni beer to drink and he said loved it. 🍺 I ordered the ambrosia negroni cocktail which was alright. I was hoping it would have had more of an orange flavor. 🍊 We both ordered the arugula salad and wow that was a massive salad. 🥗 🤣 I think we would have been better off sharing one instead of getting two. You definitely get your money's worth with that option. Also, the bread and oil they serve was divine. 🥖 For entrées, my husband ordered the chicken parmesan and I had the gnocchi parmadora. He said the chicken was good but the gnocchi was somewhat cold. My meal was much smaller than I anticipated but the red sauce was palatable - not too acidic like some places. We wanted to end the meal with tea, coffee, and dessert but they didn't have espresso and only had chamomile tea. Both disappointing but my husband ordered a regular coffee and I'm a weirdo and had an Earl Grey teabag in my purse. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 They brought out a teapot with hot water for me and it was so so so cute. For dessert, my husband had the tiramisu and I had the chocolate cake. The cake was a bit dry but overall okay. The entire experience was good but it lacked in some aspects. Service was slow, the price for the portions is questionable (our end total was like $97), and the limited tea and coffee menu was disappointing. The food was good but nothing to rave about. The outdoor dining area was definitely cute and the atmosphere was romantic. I'd love to come here again in the summer.

The food is amazing: pasta dishes, pizza and dessert. It’s a bit on the more expensive side, but still reasonable for a nice date night. Service is great! Would recommend making a reservation because the restaurant is small without tons of seating (especially when the patio is closed), but very romantic and cozy atmosphere.

In town on business and wanted some Italian. This place had excellent reviews so I thought I would give it a go. I was dining alone, so they were able to squeeze me into a small table, but I would highly recommend reservations. I asked the waitress for recommendations and she told me that they had the best chicken parm I would ever had. I chose to go with that and subbed in the housemade gnocchi. The Parm is definitely up there with the best, but the gnocchi are in the top 3. Great assortment of Italian wines to pair and a great atmosphere.

I enjoyed foods in an adorable place. I love pastas and pizza also. I think they are making pasta in the restaurant. Love to know this place! :)

Really, really spectacular meal. The service was superb (our waitress was very friendly and offered great recommendations). The daily specials rotate so the menu never seems to get old. The homemade pasta is to die for (the gnocchi is some of the best I've ever had... I kid you not it had the consistency of a soft cheese), the desserts are super fresh and well balanced, and the wine list has something for everyone. I'll _definitely_ be returning.
