This water fall was refreshing. Please pay attention to the parking lot because it is easy to miss. It is not that big. The walk from the parking lot to the falls is not far. Enjoy every moment. There is a lot of shade so you don’t have to worry about the sunny blinding you. 😎

Review addressing accessibility Impressive waterfall for being in the city. It’s a short distance to the falls, but it is not an accessible trek. The parking lot is very small and on the side of a busy road. I could see larger vehicles struggling to navigate the parking lot. The lot was almost full when I visited. The parking lot immediately leads to 3 flights of wooden steps. There are landings between each flight with room to rest out of the way. Once down the stairs you’re on a long deck structure with sides & railings the rest of the way. It’s not a very wide path (see image). The deck itself is pretty slippery in many areas because it’s so misty/humid down there. I did not see any benches or areas to sit on the deck, though the railings felt sturdy enough to lean on. An absolutely gorgeous park with lots of birds & plants. The loud, powerful water of the falls was so impressive. But there are many barriers to access

A hidden gem just mins from the busy interstate but seems like hundreds of miles away, deep in the mountains. There’s quite a few stairs down (and back up) to a boardwalk that leads you along rocky walls and the river bed. The falls cascade down into a pool of blue clear water and then the pool trickles down a stone river bed down to the river. Absolutely beautiful and a must see!

Great place to make a short stop (15 mins walk to and from total) to visit a waterfall. Awesome spot to take pics and relax for a bit before moving on. Can go down to the river and dip you feet in the water in some parts as well. Lots of steps. Overall a pretty ok spot to visit!

Dry, but that's to be expected. Filthy homeless encampment under the bridge nearby and limited parking. Maybe it would be worth going to in the fall when the water levels are up. The rock cliffs were cool on their own. Ill try it again next time I'm in Columbus.

The Natural Play Area was a fun and unique outdoor adventure for our family. It was neat to see all the surprises as we wound along the trail. The zip line was great (ages 5 and up, max rider weight 350 lb). I hopped on the giant teeter-totter opposite my 8-year-old. Wear your walking shoes - my sandals didn't cut it. The kids also enjoyed the other playgrounds and swings.

Very nice waterfall and pathway. The main issue was the small parking lot. As mentioned by other reviewers you’ll most likely have to wait until someone leaves to get a parking spot or you might get blocked in your parking spot. There’s also a lot of steps before getting to the waterfall so it’s not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Depending on time it may be a little crowded with tourists. Other than that it really is beautiful and refreshing to see this waterfall.

This gets 3 stars only because of nature's beauty. The parking lot is VERY small and only those that can handle stairs and big steps can get to the falls. We went on a warm spring day and had to leave shortly after arriving because of lack of space and people smoking. It's a great short walk but difficult to get to and small/crowded.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this tiny but lovely oasis is EASY TO MISS! If you type Hayden Falls Park into your GPS system, it will bring you to a small parking lot for the "Griggs Nature Preserve" on Hayden Run Rd. There are only 5 or 6 parking spaces, but this is the right place! Walk down the staircase and follow the boardwalk, and you will dead end at Hayden Falls. It's literally 500 steps (if that) from the parking lot. I was there a day after a heavy rain, and the waterfall was full and gorgeous. The shady boardwalk is there to protect the ecosystem but still gives a great view of the river gorge as you walk to the falls. Worth the trip!

A wonderful waterfall that you can explore less than 10 minutes of walking. A short distance to the Dublin historic site. You must visit this place if you’re around Columbus area.

Good for kids, adults - you got big stairs nearby - so for older people, it’s difficult to walk down on 30+ steps down One wheelchair parking is available , overall only 9 parking (so parking is the toughest to be here if coming on weekends or holidays or busy times ) Maybe 0.5 mile walk from parking to falls ; depending on season you can see the flow of falls larger or smaller Kids cross the fence and go near falls or walk over the falls water river .. you can also view the top of the falls by walking from parking at top towards side of parking lot

Beautiful hiking trail. Very easy to walk. The trail is lightly graveled and goes over a few bridges and down a few stairs. There are some observation decks to see parts of the stream. I encountered a few places where you can easily get down to the stream. At the very end you are rewarded with a beautiful view of the falls from an observation deck well above them. Beautiful scenery the whole way through.

Great little getaway within the city limits. Small Parking lot and can fill up fast due to how easily accessible the falls are. There are wooden steps down to the bottom and then you just follow the wooden boardwalk to the falls. Not wheelchair or baby stroller friendly.

A magic portal into nature, from the bustling city, just south of Dublin. This is a popular destination, with well maintained wooden walkway and railings, ending at a tall waterfall, feeding the Scioto River.

Very nice waterfall and pathway, very small parking lot, it caused people to park directly behind my vehicle (not in a spot) and made it very hard to get out. Also, a lot of people were swimming in the waterfall so it was hard to get pictures. Other than that, beautiful place.

Beautiful Falls. The area walking to the falls is very beautiful as well with rocks and many trees. It is free to go there. Only complaint is the parking. There are only a few parking spaces, and at least the time that we went, there was nowhere to park. It is a busy street and there is nowhere nearby at all as an alternative option for parking. It is definitely a short walk to get to the falls, maybe one or two minutes after you go down the stairs. So if the person is able to go down the stairs, after that it is an easy walk.

This water fall is right by the interstate which makes it pretty unique on its own. I have been here twice and unfortunately both times there was not a huge flow of water but it was still beautiful and peaceful. During this visit there was a few people swimming so they were in the way of taking pictures which isn’t a big deal but when I tried to fly my drone I quickly found out this is a restricted flying area so was unable too. I’ve seen a ton of pictures and videos of how big of a flow this falls can have and would be excited to give it another shot but think I’d just wait for a rainy day and throw on my rain gear. The falls is just a small walk from where you can park.

It's a quick trip from the parking lot to the falls. There aren't a lot of parking spots available, so if it's full, try again in half an hour. Very pretty. And loud. There was a portal in the falls today (for you fantasy lovers) 😁 only visible through the camera.

Visiting from Texas and wanted to visit here. Brought my dog, steep steps at front about 15 steps. Wood walkway to the waterfall, short walk, it's shady and real nice, lovely water sounds. The waterfall lightly mists you. Very light. Really relaxing place. No place to sit.

It's literally a hidden fall 🍁 beautiful place for some refreshing for a daily hectic lifestyle. I wish I can swim 🏊 Note - Very Limited Parking Space. If it's busy timings better avoid. - Steps are slippery if it's rainy days Watch Out.. 👀 ENJOY!

Great little park and beautiful waterfall area. Saw a crane and some other wildlife. No place to sit an eat by the waterfall but the walkway ledges are wide enough to stand and have a quick meal(which we did with our picks from North Market). Parking lot can be a bit congested as it's small, but since the main attraction is the waterfall and it's small, people are normally there and gone in a short amount of time.

As an Aquarius this was the perfect spot to celebrate my special day. The waterfall was beautiful. It is so peaceful here. The stairs are sturdy with some moss growing. The rails offer support if needed. It's just a short walk. The sound of the waterfall was magical and it added to the excitement. The beautiful blue birds along the way made it extra special!! There were no gates or closed signs. The parking was right next to the stairs.

Very nice boardwalk! There’s quite a few steps going down, so quite a few going back up. It’s a short walk from the parking lot. You can see nice views if you follow the trail along the street.

The scenery was nice but the trail was not what I expected. There was no waterfall because it was dry. Maybe if we went a different time in the year but it is a disappointment in the month of August. There were three flights of stairs leading down to a boardwalk That was supposed to leave to a waterfall that was about a hundred meters long. No trails to explore here. We found a spot under the bridge and although the view of the water was nice there was literally a ton of trash all over the ground. They should get someone to come clean that up. Overall the scenery was very decent. There were large Cliffs that you wouldn't expect to see. If there were more ways to get to the waterfall this would have been a better place.

Very nicely done boardwalk leading to the falls... I'd hardly call it a hike, but a lovely little walk

  • 3/5 Tom W. 3 years ago on Google
It's beautiful, but they had the falls turned off when I was there. Seriously it's worth the trip after enough rain for the water fall to work. Parking lot is ridiculously small, but that can never be improved due to space. If you visit, good luck.

Falls are beautiful, however someone has painted a large rock in front of it with graffiti, which ruins some of the natural appeal. Sign out front doesn't indicate that you're at Hayden Run Park, but follow the widen path, and it will lead you directly to the falls.

First of all hard to find there is no sign that says Hayden falls if your handicapped or have a stroller don't even bother there's no handicap access. There are many many steps and they are very very steep. If you're already a hiker it's probably fine if not forget about it. Very disappointed.

We stopped at Hayden Falls while passing through Columbus. In the summer, there wasn't much of a waterfall, but it was a pretty little gorge and unexpected right in Columbus. There's a small parking area on Hayden Run Road just west of Scioto River. Stairs lead down from the parking area to a short boardwalk trail that leads through the gorge to a viewing deck of the waterfall. I'd like to visit again in the spring or some time the water is flowing more.

I cannot believe I've been in Columbus for 20 years and never knew about this hidden gem! I grew up in West Virginia and I've never seen a place that reminded me of home like this around here. Absolutely beautiful well-maintained trails and scenic views everywhere you look. I even played the disc golf course while I was there and it was nice, too! No matter where you are in the park, make sure you stay in the areas where you are supposed to be... both for conservation and for your own good since there is poison ivy everywhere off the trails!

Short walk straight to the falls. Once you walk down board walk the sound of traffic disappears as You follow The River to the Falls 😲. So amazing! Wishing we had a trash bag on hand to pick up trash near the falls(wall). We walked out some. Sad people do this. Truly an amazing fall!

Small walk down the stairs and across the boardwalk, you come across mini misty waterfalls. 3 stars is because of VERY limited parking. Literally 9 spots. Waited about 20mins for someone to come out for me to take their spot.

Small parking lot leads down a flights of stairs to a boardwalk few creeks running off from the mainstream from the waterfall there is quite a bit of trash an graffiti on the boardwalk but overall such a impressive waterfall just be mindful as boardwalk can be very slippery at times when visiting we had prior rain storm so the waterfall was very large definitely recommend checking this place out you won't be disappointed!

For a little park inside a town. Hayden Falls is pretty spectacular. Very well maintained, and incredibly easily accessible trails and a picturesque waterfall and stone cliff faces. If you're traveling through, it's worth a stop.

Beautiful area that has been overrun with graffiti and litter. During the middle of the day was fine...but would not be here after dark! Boardwalk is well maintained. Tall staircase at the beginning gives you access to boardwalk trail leading to falls. No restrooms, playground, or picnic tables. Just a short boardwalk to the falls (if there has been rain!) It was dry when we went, but still a beautiful short walk!

This was a beautiful short little walk. You have to go down several steps and you come out on a boardwalk between to rock cliffs. Beautiful. You keep walking until it fleas ends at an overlook of the falls. Best time to go, after a rain.
