Great place to visit with friends or family. There is cool little library. They could sell souvenirs, but honestly this place is all about old fashion entertainment: books, giant telescopes, small telescopes, and lots of things to learn from the super knowledgeable guide. Even though the place has plenty of room for improvement, I still give it five stars. This place is unique in Ohio.

I haven't been to Perkins Observatory since I was a kid. We took a tour of the observatory and had a lecture about Jupiter and Saturn. Unfortunately the weather was completely overcast so we were unable to look through the telescope. There were plenty of displays and educational facts about space spread throughout the first floor and basement. The building itself is also pretty darn cool. It was built in the 1920s, so visiting for the history alone is worth a trip (only 20 miles north of Columbus!)

Great if you are a member, but they don't welcome people who just want to set up their own telescope on a dark night. They want you to pay for a telescope class (I built my telescope; I could teach a telescope class). I recommend going to the John Glenn Astro Park if you just want to star gaze with your own equipment or other's for free.

The observatory is a fun place to learn about space. We went on a cloudy night so we were unable to use the telescope. However, the director of the observatory gave a question and answer session and tour instead. Very insightful.

This has to be one of the most beautiful buildings in central Ohio. Don’t miss out!

How wonderful to have a place so close to home where I can meet other astronomical enthusiasts!! Many knowledgeable individuals to teach you about the phenomenal sky, and how to observe the stars and planets with their amazing equipment. My only complaint is the parking situation. The road leading to the observatory is very narrow, unpaved, and no actual parking lot.

I came here for my birthday a few years ago. The man hosting the tour has a shirt so low cut you could see his chest hairs! He practically dismissed us and we walked through aimlessly ourselves. We couldn’t use the telescope so that was a bust. The observatory wasn’t impressive but we made it into a good time.

Great presentation and historical building. Layer for weather, the presentation room was hot, the actual observatory is basically outside... You know the drill.

Very good experience.. he was answering all questions asked by audince In library looking at computers i was feeling like I am at shooting set of "Big bang theory " web series

We had an amazing time looking at planets and stars! The staff was incredibly friendly and patient with our 6 year old. Ever since the visit, she's been talking about nebula and the "7 sisters". πŸ€—

πŸ‘πŸ‘ What a fun park. It has a splash pad, tons of slides and climbing things, and a huge picnic area. Amazing if you live close but worth the hike if you aren’t as close. Provides fun for hours.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Nice and quiet place to go for a walk or just to sit by the water. They have a small kids playground so it's perfect for a family picnic.
