I wouldn't haven't even given this place 1 star if I didn't have to choose between 1 and 5 stars. This place has the absolute RUDEST employees. We went there for a concert.. the bar tender kept yelling about there being another bar up front because she had too many customers. The sound guy literally argued with the artist and then muted him. While the artist was on stage. Then the security guy was mad about the meet and greet because they needed to set up for another show. They just have no customer service skills what so ever. The drinks were not good drinks. All in all it was just a horrible experience. The show was great.. the venue, not so much!!!

If you're a single woman, there are sooo many creeps. They do make strong drinks but not worth it for the money and don't be surprised if your debit/credit card or ID get "lost" and you get charged way more for your tab. Pretty much stay away unless you want to risk your safety. The area surrounding isn't great and it's equally the same inside. For the bands that play there, the sound guys are the worst in this city and Skullys takes almost all of the money the bands earn. Too bad because the venue is cool but it's a total wash. I wish someone would buy this place out and make it a great place to go. It would be closed by now but they just feed off new college students who want to get drunk and totally take advantage of their situation. Seriously, be careful and please leave a review of your experience because this needs to stop.

Went to Skully’s for the Damn Girl event. Nice mixed crowd of people, a large dance floor an upstairs bar and lounge and an outdoor space with a bar. Admission was free before 11. The music was mostly 70s which was a vibe. Would have liked some more songs with lyrics.

I attended the Scarface concert last night and everything was so professional. I appreciated the security who actually checked individuals to ensure safety. The opening acts and DJ were really talented and I was entertained and Scarface did not disappoint at all as he was genuine and appreciative to the fans. This being his farewell tour made it even more special for me since it was my uncle was passed away that introduced me to his music!!! Great venue

This is one of my favorite new venues, I like a dive bar-esque venue and this hits all my markers. There are places to get out of the crowd and sit if you need to, there are two floors with bars on them and tons of space for shows. It really was phenomenal. ❤️

An event was listed as being $10. Even came up as $10 when I went to order from Event Brite. I chose to get at the door in lieu of a $2 fee. We were then charged $20 EACH at the door. The only stall door that closes properly in the women’s room is the handicapped one. Although it closes, it doesn’t lock. The bartender was rude. The only thing positive about the place is the sound. If it weren’t for wanting to support the band playing, I would NEVER set foot in this place. TERRIBLE

We had a group of 20 that came into dance for 80's night. We just wanted to dance to 80's music. The songs that were played were not well known songs of the 80's. We requested songs such as Whitney Houston and Journey only to be told that they didn't have any songs by them. Really? I asked a bar tender if I could speak to a manager. I waited. I was ignored. So another bar tender asked what I needed. I told him that I would like to speak to a manager to ask about the 80's music. I was told that if I didn't like the music that I should leave. He pointed to the entrance and told me to get out. I was told that they have been playing this music for 80's music for years. As someone who grew up in the 80's, the music played was not representative of the music of that time period. I was not being rude. I just wanted to speak to someone about the music and the DJ was not being receptive to requests. Our group was very disappointed because we really wanted to have some fun dancing to popular 80's music. That bartender was extremely aggressive and the manner in which he conducted himself was unacceptable. If you are going to have an 80's dance night, please pick music that is truly 80's dance music.

My first time here was 7/27/22, when I saw Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum, my favorite band. It was way more spacious than I imagined. The staff was friendly. I will definitely go to more shows here!! Plus, there is a cool vinyl record store beside of Skully's!

Was a great venue for a smaller concert. Was my first time here. Main reason for 4 stars is the bathroom definitely needs some work.

I had a great time here for a packed event. The event space is fantastic, I love the overhead balcony. Parking Information Skully’s does not have designated customer parking. There is a city lot with meters to the north of our location; there is also street parking (metered & free) in the surrounding area Bag Policy No Large Bags or Backpacks Permitted. Small Purses will be searched and permitted at the discretion of the venue.

I sat waiting for 6 hours, to watch a performance to only watch them be bumped from 5pm to 7:30pm to not performing at all. Whole other performers weren’t ready taking 15-20 minutes to set up or showed up late as hell. There were huge delays when performing should have been happening! However is in charge of the performers (specifically Sunday) and booking them needs to tell them you are bumped if you are late. PERIOD. Then as the people I waited to see finally were able to go on, they pulled the plug, and not able to perform. I understand with Covid-19 regulations things have to be wrapped up at a specific time; however, having said that, this is why timeliness should be the expectation. I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK. This place needs a major overhaul...... don’t waste your time

Not the same anymore. Back in 2019/2020 there was good vibes and positivity everywhere. The last few shows I've been to at Skullys in the past year and a half something bad has happened. Weather someone tried to steal my painting from me, another girl was acting super disrespectful over the rail and acted like she owned it even though she was just standing in front of it and not even dancing. It makes me sad because really good edm DJs come here and the bass is LIIIIIT and the lights have been upgrading. But the crowd is not the same anymore. I don't see that many real wooks anymore either. 😕 It breaks my heart because some of my favorite DJs play here and I love hanging out in the smoking section. But I'm never going back here again because of the kind of crowd I have been dealing with here lately. Bluestone is way better 🤷‍♀️

I usually go here for either Space Camp or Ladies 80s. I have also attended for other concerts as well. The parking isn't great so, if you can, carpool or get there early. The last time my friends and I went to Ladies 80s, the DJ was not great. I think he may be a new DJ than who they had before. He played a lot of songs that were definitely 80s, but not bangers. He may be new, so no worries.

It was a pretty cool venue and nice Bartenders. It can get pretty crowded depending on the performer, but you still get pretty good views wherever you stand there. Go early, because parking can get to be hard to find if you're trying to be right next to the venue.

We got to see The Red Jumpsuit Apperatus here and di the VIP seating. The venue was smaller than what I expected but that packed us in for an awesome concert. We were pretty much able to reach and touch the band(which I had to restrain my wife from doing lol). We were right up on the stage front row. There isn't really seating standing only but again it was awesome. Venue dud a get job hosting.

Loved visiting this place! Very chill vibe. Multiple bars means no wait for drinks. My husband and I were here to see Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum and were impressed with the sound and view of the stage. Love that there is an upstairs and downstairs option for viewing the stage (with a bar upstairs as well). I do wish they had more dark beer options, as we regularly drink stouts and porters. The owners and manager are extremely friendly! I do have to admit the woman's bathroom was kinda terrifying, but I think that is mostly because women are disgusting creatures when using public restrooms (especially in bars) so no real fault on the venue. Maybe they could send someone in the clean more frequently. Overall a great experience and we will be back! *The photo added is from the back of the event area. Even from the back of the crowd you have a great view!

Venue holds 1100 patrons. There is always a worthwhile artist/artists playing here. Great staff. If you like to discover new bands, Skullys is a must visit.

My main, personal dealbreaker here is that they don't serve free water. It's a totally unexcusable safety risk just so they can make extra money off bottled water. I have female friends that have told me that they have been repeatedly groped here and none of the venue employees will help them. Those facts, along with the location being a minor pain, mean that the only time I will usually go here is if a traveling artist I wanna see is playing.

Hello recently went here feb 15 to see the BabyTron concert with my 3 friends. We purchased tickets and they didn’t believe us. One of the people up front checking our tickets then said “goodbye losers”. We will never be coming here again. I hope we can get this person fired.

This place is great! Good selection on beer and alcohol, easy access to street parking, upstairs and outdoor seating, and lots of events to attend. Came here for a show and it's got a lot of room so you won't feel crowded. It sucks that the road is being worked on at the time being but there were lots of places to park on the street. Will definitely be back!

To be a music venue I was highly disappointed in the fact that they were unable to not only pull up my purchased tickets from an online purchase, but they were also unable to take cash for payment after making me re-purchase two new tickets. Super unprofessional to not be able to use an ID, email, and the physical credit card I used to buy said tickets, in order to pull up my ticket information at the door- after having lost my phone earlier in the day. Will not be coming back to a venue that is behind in such simple tech.

I was here in Sept 2022 for the Front 242 show. No issues with checking in and getting the wrist band since there were no actual tickets. Was even allowed to leave to go across the street to the burger joint and come back. Show was great. Very small stage and venue overall so that made my 1st time seeing 242 even better. My only concern was the lack of security screening. There was absolutely no checking of bags and purses, no wanding of anyone. In todays environment of high crime and such and especially with this venue's location, they really need to have security measures in place. You can bet I had my escape route planned as I was waiting for the show to start.

Jim was Amazing and so accommodating to everyone. It's hard to find venues with workers who care about patrons and take time out of their busy shift to answer any questions/concerns. I hope there are more concerts I am able to go to at Skullys just for the staff.

So I came here to see Haarper, sinister and Sxmpra perform. It's a nice little place located close to ohio state university. From what I'm told they normally have food but the people I went to see are more of a jumping mosh pit style of music so there wasn't any food available. They had the bar open though so that was a big plus and it brings me to the reason why I didn't give a 5 star...it was crazy hot the whole time we were in there. Every performer said something about it and needed alot of water to help them get through it. And a person literally had to be taken outside from how hot it was! But luckily the security was fast and helped and got her some water. But when I got the bar for some water i was expecting 2 cold bottles of water...no 2 small cups of water...but hopefully the take better measures to realize it gets hot and sometimes people may need water if they don't have money. Overall though I'd highly recommend going here to see anyone live the sound system is good and everyone is very professional...now I gotta come back and try the food.

Here to see Southern Culture on the Skids. Skullys no longer has food, just an FYI. Doors opened at 7pm. I asked if there was any seating and was told chairs could be brought in from the dining area and placed along the wall but no seating in front of the stage. Also there is seating upstairs. We pulled chairs over to the railing and had great seats. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I’m completely impressed. Often bars that have concerts have uninterested bar tenders and staff. Not here. Everyone went out of there way to make sure we were happy. The bar tender upstairs was awesome!! The opening band came on stage promptly at 8. Good band, good vocals. I’m listening to them now so I haven’t heard SCOTS yet, but hey, we know they will be great.

Really solid concerts. We had a blast, but be careful on the second floor. I'm not sure if they clean the wooden floor properly, and it is absurdly slippery. The one night we went there were people falling all over the place. Lovely atmosphere, but make sure you're vaxxed.

Update: The number given by the owner goes to a full mailbox that no one answers. The number on the website never has anyone answer. Both emails listed including the one the owner gave me have not sent any replies. Where is my money owner????? I'm obviously getting the runaround. Next step is the Better Business Bureau Thanks for having an event through a ticket vendor that didn't list the required covid test or vaccination card for entry. I would have had the test if it was written literally ANYWHERE in the information given to me when I purchased my tickets. Thanks for wasting my time and money because you are too incompetent to put that on your ticket as required for entry. Now I'm glad I missed the show and didn't hangout there. No more of my money for you.

Went to see Front 242 play. Merch only took cash so tried using atm inside which was not working but yet still tried to take it out of my account, so beware. Bartenders were super nice trying to keep up. One of the bartenders had to come to my resue and throw a guy out because he was drunk and wouldnt leave me alone even with my husband by my side.

For a smaller venue this place is out of control. Amazing lighting and sound combined with a large floor, good food, cheap drinks, and a cool staff. Can’t ask for much else. Photos are of the band Cousin Simple playing there and the place was packed. Still had room to dance and have a good time.

Attended a concert in December of 2022 and purchased meet and greet tickets for the artist performing, after the show had ended they told everyone that was waiting for the meet and greet that it was off because "too many people" were on the stage during the show and "the show went on too long". Never even got a refund. Its a shame how people that wanted the meet and greet got punished because of the venue's inability to coordinate a concert/ hire proper security to actually do their job and keep people from going on stage. Aside from issues related to meet and greet, the concert was amazing.
