This is such an amazing place!! The first hangar and the offices feels like a time capsule. Everything is so well preserved too and for the buildings that no longer stand there are metal poles describing where they were I also really enjoyed the documentaries in the second airplane hangar. Their Junior ranger program is also really great and they still give the patches to plus wings. I definitely recommend adding this to your travel list 🤠

Excellent...stayed in Auburn 20 minutes away. Highly recommend for History buffs and people who feel there is a gap in mainstream education. Experience details that should have been in our history books!

I did not get to see the place do to closer. Alabama is still shut down due to Covid. What I seen was amazing and the two gentlemen I talked to was wonderful and kind.

This is a historically important memorial to the trailblazing men and women designated as Tuskegee Airmen. Thir role in the history of the military deserves a much bigger, much grander memorial than this. Now, I'm. Ot knocking this, this is definitely a place to come and see and learn about a significant group of men and women. There are a few original structures, displays, and relics that show what life was like for them. I recommend that if you ever swing through Alabama, stop and check this memorial out. Its important to keep our history alive.

WOW!! So Wonderfully Preserved And Well Kept. This Inside Look At Some Of The Remaining Standing Structures Of The Training Grounds For The Esteemed Tuskegee Airmen Is A Beacon Of History. Although The Time Period That This Museum Takes Place In (30's & 40's) Is Marred With A Painful Past, This Site Focuses On The Training These Men Went Through While They Were There, Prior To Going Overseas. Be Sure To Ask Your Park Ranger Questions. They Are So Super Friendly And Knowledgeable. Have Fun!

Very nice quality museum with just enough to read and listen to, but not so much you can't fit it all in. It's a nice stroll around the airfield facilities and there is a very picturesque pond located behind the air tower.

Place was amazing. Open today with normal masks and covid protocol. Allowed to explore inside and out, even climb the stairs of the control tower.

Really great museum about the African American experience during WWII. These men and women were patriots and weren't treated like it. They deserved better and our country failed them in various ways. But it's a positive experience showing how they overcame such obstacles and succeeded to help win the war as well as thier basic human rights after the war. Really great museum. Highly recommended. I drove 3 hours to get here from GA. Worth my time.

Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site is a wonderful way to connect the rich history of the region and the United States as a whole. On display are artifacts related to training of African American pilots and the impact that these veterans have had on American history. There are actual planes to see, documentaries to watch, and workshops for kids. Don’t forget to stop by the souvenir shop for a keepsake! If you have found this review helpful, please like and share the review. Thanks and have a wonderful day!

One of the best preserved historical military sites here in the United States. When you visit the airfield and its buildings, it feels like you’re stepping back in time. I visited on a Saturday and there was only two other families there. Every room I walked into I was the only one in there so I was able to really immerse myself in the settings, sounds, and smells. You can not only go into all the different offices in the hangars, but you can also climb the old control tower. Be careful from spring until fall as there are wasps which were being dealt with at the time. The staff are helpful and friendly. It’s free to visit but I would recommend leaving a donation. The site also has a nice little gift shop.

We did an impromptu stop, and it was super worth it. It's amazing how these heroes were able to focus. I was in awe with all of their accomplishments they've achieved while enduring such hardships. Show some respect and educate yourself with the various journeys of their time. They fought for this country only to return home to fight for substandard treatment and Jim Crow laws. Redtails for life!!! I want to ride in that mustang!

The museum offered a great look into the unique and powerful history that our great nation can offer. A very small and quaint museum it offers itself with a lot of heart. The airstrip is busier than one would think. Yet that is a major part of its charm. One could learn many things from a history laden town such as Tuskegee.

I think ever American should come visit this National Park. So worth the time spent. Walk around and take in the sights and sound as airplanes take off and do touch and goes. What these men did for us ❤️

Such a hidden gem! This museum honors great heroes who sacrificed to protect us and their fellow pilots. This museum continues to get better and better. The movie is fantastic!

Wonderful, thought-provoking experience. Our group enjoyed our visit. Staff, the Park Service, and volunteers were all very friendly and helpful. Be sure to visit both hangars because they're very different.

This was a great place to visit to learn about the Tuskegee airmen! Having lived in the DC area and gone to both Smithsonian air and space museums (downtown and near IAD), we were not sure what to expect. While there were really only about half a dozen big artifacts in hanger 1, hanger 2 had great videos of interviews with various airmen (about a dozen clips) that really made the stop worthwhile. Hanger 1 had a P-51, and two trainer aircraft with a Link trainer box, a hands-on parachute folding display, and various uniforms (not to be tried on). Outside, you could wander around to look at buildings and wire-frame "ghost" buildings that no longer existed. The ranger greeting us was Lori. Her enthusiasm for her job was a great start. Be mindful of the hours / days of week that they are open. Only limited days. During our off season visit, their opening day for the week was Wednesday as indicated on a paper sign over the normal sign. We looked at the outside on Monday and went back on Thursday. I'd call first. But definitely worth the visit, free, and not far off the Interstate.

It's not a big place, nor will it take you long to walk through, but the complex story behind these men who fought for their country and yet were lynched at home is surreal. Not a place I would drive to specifically, but if you're in the general area it's a must.

Extremely interesting to vets and historians of military aviation and civil rights. The museum exhibits should be on school field trip agendas throughout the SE. There was ample parking and no entrance fee and all the authenticity and cleanliness you’d expect from a National Park Service run facility.

Another museum not open on Sunday 🥲. We were able to walk around the campus where they trained and peek into the buildings. We weren't able to see any of the planes they flew because the campus was closed. Still, it was worth going. You can feel the presence of greatness, American heroes!!! Because it was closed, I'm not sure if there's a cost associated.
