Today was my first time revisiting “The Dam”since the pandemic. I would come here once a week with a buddy and enjoy our hike. We came back today and it was a nice working out complimented by cool weather. Nice area for socializing, cycling, and or working out. The Hoover Reservoir Park also hosts the Brent Hambrick Memorial Disc Golf Course. The “steps” are a great workout. Nice areas for walking for the family and our four-legged friends. Great sceneries. This park is also clean.

Great place to go train workout, relax getaway. See scenery seawater get some fresh air even in the winter time. Plenty of parking. They do have a covered facility with a Porta. John, plenty trails to walk or ride a lot of steps to climb. If you want to really get some blood circulating strength training, heart work cardiovascular work again. It's two levels of parking so you always have a place to park. There are a lot of people that come and walk their dogs, so if you're not dog friendly, be careful. And if you do like places to go walk your dog, you can do it here

This is an absolutely beautiful park with a lot of areas for walking. There is also a disc golf course and observation area to get really nice views. There were quite a few people there, but the area is so big I didn't feel crowded at all.

Pretty place to go for a walk or play frisbee golf- the course is below the dam (park below it or to the east of the dam for Frisbee golf) Update Feb 2023: you can now walk up the stairs and across the Dam. The stairs are short, so it's a great place to get a work out in! And beautiful views the whole time.

Great place to walk my pup! Along the beach, grassy trails, the dam, rain or shine! They even have a disc frisbee area. It is hard to get pictures of the great blue heron or gulls as they are fast and my mini is on the go tugging at the lead. Good fishing spots and kayaking area.

Lots to do here. Fishing, Biking, Hiking, Training on the stairs/hills, Boating/kayaking, frisbee, etc. It is dog friendly and a great place to take your furry friends. You can walk across the dam or into the wooded areas. Only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because pretty much any time that i've gone it is super busy. Other than that it is a fantastic park for a quick or long walk, enjoying the weather or other activities!

Nice stop on the way to the Westerville or New Albany, not really out of the way. Free to park past the picnic shelters if you are willing to walk a bit. The walkthrough bridge is closed for construction or renovation but you can still enjoy the views from one end. The stairs are quite a climb to get to the viewing area to see upstream. Great piece to explore!

Found out this was only minutes from me so I take my sister and we sleep or read. I'd like to walk the path to the dam but I have a back problem. Maybe I'll brave through one day. I'd been on the dam side many years ago when I was a kid. Lots of PoC fishing for food! Everyone is friendly. Someone shouted, "Y'all, I caught a fish!" and we cheered. I'll bring my dad sometime, he likes to fish. I talk to the geese, they're chill. Dogs run about off-leash, haven't had an issue. There's a playset for kids. Toilets are the portable kind and I haven't used them yet.

Hoover Reservoir Park is a beautiful place to spend some time. There are a good number of people jogging, playing disc golf on the course there, and walking solo, with dogs and with kids yet there is plenty of room for social distancing. There's also lots to see including boats and kayaks on the water, birds, and greenery. Our 2 year old also enjoyed the small playground and the geese and ducks in that area. A word of warning, the majority of the park is open to direct sunlight and it can get quite hot on warm, sunny days. Parking is free in the lot at the entrance.

Beautiful park and surroundings. I’ve been to Cbus hundreds of times, but had never been to Hoover dam until we moved here recently. We walked from one side of the park to the other. Views were amazing! And we found a disc golf course on the far side. Can’t wait to get kayaks and paddle around. No speed boat are allowed on the reservoir, so it is quiet and peaceful.

Nice place to visit in #Ohio and take a walk, or do boating. Parking is free and easily available. I saw some reviews that it is more scenic from parking lot 3. The visitor must be right when water is flowing through the spillway. When I visited,it was dry and the standing water was smelling bad. In these conditions, staying on the water side of the dam may be more pleasant and scenic. Also, please don’t mix this #HooverDam with the one in Nevada. #travel #hooverdamohio #photography

A great place to walk around. Lush green and water makes it beautiful. Two way walk in the bridge is about 1 mile. There are plenty of walking tracks off the bridge. Very clean and well maintained. We went on an evening, it was a nice walk in the cool breeze and a sight of seagulls, ducks was delightful.

Always great to get out in nature. There are a couple parking lots to choose from, but the road crossing the dam is closed. There is still a great multi-use path Sunbury Rd. Depending on what time of year you come, you’ll get little foliage, too thick green trees and flowers everywhere. Plus there are plenty of great photography opportunities along the path.

One of the best disc golf courses in central Ohio is located here open front 9 with a wooded original back nine and another 9 at the back of the park ... from hole 14 make a right at the basket to access the bonus holes( picture for attention only not a hole at hoover )

  • 4/5 Alyssa Y. 9 months ago on Google
Nice area for a paved stroll by the water was busy with walkers, runners, and bikers on the summer evening we went. Small area with playground for kids. Saw a few people playing some disc golf also. Not too many bugs until after sunset.

Great place to kayak! Lots of beautiful scenery and the boat speed limit being reduced means more safe for kayaking! Will definitely return!

  • 3/5 Forest T. 1 year ago on Google
Hoover Reservoir is getting 3 stars basically bc of the picture shown when asked to review it. The issue is that the picture used to describe the park on Google doesn't showcase the cool wooded trails you can run or walk your dog on or the waterway you can sit and look at or boat/fish on.. Honestly the concrete damn/walkway pictured is the least appealing aspect of this park .. Great if you want to run up and down a steep hill or back and fourth on concrete for exercise but I prefer the more scenic natural trail myself. There's some really nice benches to have a picnic or put up a hammock in the pictures I've provided.

It would be a good park until you realize the amount of money Delaware County and Franklin County pull in with property taxes. The parks in this area should be lined in gold with flying cars for the amount the government takes.

I enjoy coming here and watching the boats - also fun to walk along the shoreline and gather shells. If you go closer to the Marina, there are a lot of geese but further down in the fishing areas it is very peaceful and no crowd!

It never fails to impress how this marvel not only supplies.water to the city and surrounding area but offers so much recreational value to the public. We have enjoyed the fishing here many times and kids seem to love looking at the spillway. For the athlete the steps up the side of the dam from the spillway up.to the top are a create cardio work out. So if you want to picnic or just take a leisurely walk this is the place to go. If you go stop by one of the many bait shops, get some snacks, make sure your fishing license is good and go and have a great time. It's a great place to boat too so go have fun.

Hoover Reservoir Park is a great place to take the family to walk around, play disc golf, and have a picnic. The kiddos enjoy running around and adventuring. The beautiful scenery make this a great location in Central Ohio for family photos. We highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Stanley C. 3 years ago on Google
Great place to train outside! The area is beautiful, the water and open areas keep a gentle breeze blowing the whole time you're there. The 100+ step staircase is why so many go there to workout. Not to mention they have a play area for the children and lots of areas to relax and sit.
