Very nice campground, clean bathrooms. Level sites. I’m disappointed in staff letting people play their music loud enough you can’t hear your own. I’m all for dressing up your campsite but having so many lights on your site it looks like the Vegas strip! And then left them on all night? Kinda RUDE! And how many times do you have to hit the alarm to lock your vehicle? I’m pretty sure it’s 1 or 2 not 8-9!!! We wanted relaxation…… we got noisy neighbors. Maybe add to the registration of quiet time and respect your fellow campers.

The campground is very well maintained, has plenty of amenities, a beach, amphitheater, nature trails and great views of the lake.

Alum Creek State Park is an excellent place to stay. The sites have good spacing and are paved. The park is well wooded which provided some privacy. Nearly all the sites are level for RVs. There were restrooms in walking distance either direction from our site. The shower houses were clean. Being an early riser, I saw ODNR on site before 7 am cleaning the restrooms/showers. We look forward to returning to this Park.

We camped here on our way home from a cross country trip to Glacier National Park and Washington State. The sites were wooded and felt private. The pad was pretty level. We were able to stream with no problems. (Verizon) There was a WiFi hub in our section. The staff were friendly and we saw a ranger patrolling the area. They have playgrounds and a beach. Boaters love this place. The only reason we aren’t giving Alum Creek campground a 5 star is the cleanliness of the shower/bathroom. The regular restroom was almost spotless. This is a place we regularly stay because it is near to Columbus where our children live and close to shopping and services but feels like it is a remote spot.

We stopped in to check out the campgrounds while we were in the area. The staff at the campground office were very friendly and accommodating. All in all the campgrounds seem to be very well kept. The roadway and pads were nicely paved and most of the sites were nice and level with electric hook ups, picnic table and fire ring. The sites were spacious and semi private with shade. There was a playground area and a wonderful little nature center. Looks like a great place to camp.

Overall, very nice grounds! The people at the check-in area were very helpful and knowledgeable. The campsites were relatively decent sizes, and the bathrooms were much of what you could expect while camping. The little beach area was a bit muddy, but it felt nice to dip out legs in! I was a bit surprised with how much we could hear the bypassing road traffic and train at night.

This was our second time at this campground. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a Christmas light display this trip (completely on accident we ended up here this time). So much fun, nice well kept campground and friendly staff.

Spacious enough from the next site unless you seek a bit more privacy and seclusion. Well kept grounds, exceedingly kind and helpful staff. Grounds boast an amphitheatre, which had entertainment Saturday night, numerous bathroom facilities, a camper's beach, and mini golf. I think all campsites were well shaded and city, definitely a family place! The check in office has fire starters, ice cream, and small memorabilia items, possibly much more, but we were only there one night.

This campground is very nice, clean, and it seems like every spot has its own little privacy. Beautiful, beautiful lake. Great for bike riding, dog walking, or just prople walking. Clean wash houses.

Loved the park! Stayed 6 nights bath house had dark mold? On the wall bathhouse needs cleaning no other issues. Fishing was great, private dock for campers wonderful. Each site is very private. Had a great time. We will return in August!!

Went in early October from a Friday through Tuesday. They had a fall weekend with a few different things for the kids even with Covid and social distancing. Showers were hot and bathrooms were clean. Campsites are private with lots of trees. There were nature trails leading down to a few fishing spots at Alum Creek or to a small pond. Very relaxing!

Very large campground. Many sites are close but private feeling still with the number of trees and growth between the sites. We were in G loop and very sheltered from how many people were really there. Kids loved the beach and swim area and it was very well developed for such. We would definitely camp here again.

My wife and I bought our first RV trailer and went to Alum Creek Park. The experience was wonderful! We stayed in the B area, which was quiet and clean, with level parking, and enough distance from neighboring campers to allow for privacy. We are already planning our second visit there and are looking forward to more memorable times. Highly recommend.

Our site was secluded and large. Check in was easy and the park offers some nice activities at the amphitheater. If you want a quiet, private stay, you can get that at Alum Creek. My only issues with the park are the bath houses and bathrooms. They were never cleaned while we were there. I knew they weren’t cleaned last visit, so I had taken some cleaner and a sponge with me to clean a shower stall in anticipation. Glad I did. On Saturday, the final day of our stay, there WAS a truck with cleaning supplies parked out front of the bathrooms. However, the person in the truck just sat there and never went inside the bathrooms. They left after sitting there for roughly an hour, the bathroom remained un-cleaned. The park would be nicer if they could address this problem.

There’s more asphalt than grass here. Where are the restrooms? The campsite is surrounded by poison ivy. We didn’t come up last night because the amphitheater was playing a movie at 9PM. There is too much road noise both in the distance and the tent being 10ft from the access road. People walking and chatting as if they were right outside of our tent. Campsite A1. They won’t do anything about this but just know what you’re signing up for.

Many wooded campsites for privacy. Good sites for tents or campers. Restrooms and shower houses were clean multiple times I’ve been there. Very friendly staff. Gorgeous lake for boats and fishing. Trails to hike. Other than hearing a little traffic outside the park from some sites, the place is near perfect.

Large area to explore. First tail we found was near the marina and was flooded. Saw many people playing frisbee golf on a snowy/windy day, must be a fun course. Beach area has a neat playground. Might have to come back in summer to try out the swimming.

Played disco golf there this morning and it was a great course some very challenging holes. Overall a good course. The Lake is very nice with a 800' Long Beach great camping area with paved spaces. This was one of the nicest Midwestern state park step I have seen.

Great sites, spread out and most are wooded. We love the hiking trails and beautiful lake. Only downfall is the train that goes through a few times a night.

**Far off the road you will hear little to no traffic. All 214 camp sites are located within 4 loops with all-inclusive bathhouses in the center of each circle (meaning each bathroom contains a toilet, shower, sink & bench). Each site is spacious and many are shaded. **Sites are ELECTRIC only (not sure if any have water or FHU but we've never seen or been offered any in our several stays). A water spigot is located in the back of each loop. So fill your fresh water tank before you arrive & use bathhouse too. **Close to Waldo, OH - famous for bologna sandwiches & a great sausage shop is just north of the park. Columbus, Marion, Richwood, Marysville, Delaware, and Prospect are nearby (we have relatives in all of them!) Playgrounds. Boat launch. Great beach. Reasonable nightly rates. Book in advance if you wish to stay Fri or Sat as they are booked on these nights most of the time. Weekdays are quiet. **Park employees clean the bathhouses daily and natural resource officers drive thru daily. You will feel safe. The long drive in & out of the park will reward you with frequent sightings of deer, squirrel and birds. **Booking the park via ReserveAmerica is just a headache (and their accuracy of what sites are booked are often wrong) so we try to arrive on a weekday as the office can reserve & check you in on ARRIVAL DAY only. No advance res at the office. Good luck & enjoy your stay!

We like taking our puppies different places with us whether we just go out on our boat or hiking. The beach at Delaware State Park is pretty nice they have a mix of fine, coarse, and rocky sand that does extend into the water but what really sold us was that they have a fenced in area that goes down and out into the water so our dogs were able to play together in and out of the water, use the bathroom, and even rest while we were able swim and walk along the beach together which was so nice. The bathrooms were also pretty close which can be a godsend if you are boating, have kids or puppies. There was some shade on parts of the lake which isn't always the case with all bodies of water. There were some little islands even some you could pull your boat up to. We also liked that Delaware State Park had an awesome boat ramp at Buckeye Grove making getting the boat in and out of the water all that much easier for us. We also liked that it wasn't that much further than Alum Creek just a little bit more north I guess. We are wanting to try camping here next it seems like a pretty nice place to go. A little hard to find with Google unless you are looking for it though.

The trails r awesome from the horse camp however the outhouses was VERY full . Disgusting! And the dump station was also full. We paid on line to camp there(no problem with paying) but i expect to have an outhouse I can use. Not filled to the top

We traveled with our dog. The sites offer privacy which was nice so he couldn't see most of the other dogs. We also enjoyed the secluded feeling. The dog park, only a short drive away, was a highlight for our dog. The beach was great. The only drawback was that it didn't have water hook-up. We plan on returning.

Always a wonderful stay! Stayed here last year and again this year. We love that it's super close to family. Plenty of things to do in the area. Sites are nicely spaced, plenty of dumpsters close by, staff is friendly and dump station is clean.

Enjoy camping here but do not camp on a site on the main road if you have young children. Speed limit is 10 and nobody obeys it. Office personnel said they couldn't do anything about it, only ODNR can enforce it. Put in speed bumps!

The campers beach was excellent. Some of the sites are rather sunny, I would suggest a canopy. Bikes would be fun, somethings are a bit of a walk. You can boat, or anthing to do wit water sports. A super great campground.

I had a camp site B10 which is directly behind the place where people dump there waste. I mean this was absolutely the worst site i have ever experienced in my life. When we sat at our camp site all you could smell was waste. Couldn't enjoy anytime at the sit except late at night when no one was dumping. I will never go back to sit B10

Not bad, although the sites are a little small. However, lots of shade, which is hard to find. Every lot is very private, separated by some trees and brush, which is nice. If you have a camper, it would be difficult to fit a tent on most of these sites. Also, don't really like that the drinking water is at the dump station. It leads to too much congestion. Overall a nice stay, just different than the park's we usually go to.

Great little campground. Stopped in on a multi-state road trip. We had reserved a cabin but ended up pitching some tents anyways. The cabins were very nice and clean. It even had a fridge. Camping spots had a good amount of vegetation between and a decent amount of grass. The bathrooms were well lit and also pretty clean. The roads around the campground were well maintained.

Still full, booked on weekends through October(2021). Shaded sites and some sites on the lake. We went to the Beach which is large, small restrooms(no changing areas or showers) and no concession stand. A few picnic tables and grills. Very little shade but plenty of parking. Thankfully Food trucks arrived.

Excellent campground, many sites but they are all kind of in their own area with trees around so there is privacy. There are regular bathrooms and shower rooms. We stayed in a water front site with electric and it was just delightful. They offer breakfast on the weekends, as well as live music sometimes. There is mini golf and play grounds and so many trails. Just a great campground for you and the family! Dog friendly too :)
