This place is a hidden gem. The cars and engines are older and alot of it needs restored but its a small nonprofit collection full of Americana and History. They have holiday events for the kids and are run wholly by volunteers. Great place to go for a couple hours of interesting history and education. We loved it!

This may be the best kept secret in Worthington. This museum has been operating since 1948, and has an impressive collection of engines cars and various other memorabilia. The staff were very friendly with a special shout out to Eric, our student conductor. A couple of the real highlights of the museum were just how interactive the displays are. You are able to climb in and really experience the cars and engines. My favorite was the giant Steam Engine. The other great thing is that for your admission, you get to take a ride in one of the cars pulled along by "Roger" a small diesel engine built during WW2. I will definitely be coming back to this wonderful museum!

This is the famous rail museum here in Worthington. I have visited to experience for Halloween Ghost trolley. This is fun for kids as they get to explore Halloween and also about the coal based rail locomotive engine and their history. The have 2-3 stationed trolley with some of the Halloween stuff and 15 min small ride in train. All the Halloween stuff is in stationary carts so on the trolley ride don’t expect any scary part it’s just ride. If your kids like trains then you should visit. The ticket costs 10$.

A hidden gem of Columbus especially if you know a train lover or have kids. The ride on the train is worth the cost because the volunteers are entertaining & made the ride so fun. Walking through the old trains is like walking through history. The staff is very knowledgeable & friendly. There are holiday events to look into as well. Admission is free but train ride costs money. Cute gifts in the shop too.

A very special place where history abounds. The volunteer staff is very knowledgeable about the different trains and cars on the property. The fact that you can walk around at your own pace and go inside of the different trains makes it really unique. The trolley ride is a lot of fun too! You can do it as many times as you want, it runs every half hour. Highly recommend a visit, even if you aren't a train enthusiast.

Tho closed for the season, there were volunteers on hand, one named Josh provided updated information on some of the cars and trolleys. Been awhile since we've been here, brought the grands... We'll return in May.

Definitely worth a visit! The place is run by volunteers who definitely love what they do. I took my kids for the Ghost Trolley and we all had a great time. We went last night and my kids are asking when we can go back!

This was such a great afternoon with the kids. The museum didn't need anything too fancy because they just had really great trains. We had a great little ride on the inter-urban, but I had hoped it would be a little longer than it was.

What a great spot!! The train ride is really fun! The conductor is really knowledgeable and full of fun facts. There are so many cool train cars to visit too. There's a mail train car and they have someone posted there ready with interesting things to tell you. There's a street car from back in the day, why did we ever get rid of that?? You should definitely visit. It's a fun little spot!

This place is awesome wether you’re a kid or not. There’s also a fully Functioning train ride that lasts about 20min and goes a mile or two. Def recommend! It’s only $9 for an adult and under 3 is free.

A hidden gem in the middle of North Columbus! Very small but a lot of Ohio rail history here. It runs solely with volunteers and donations. There is a fee to take a ride on the historical street car down the tracks about a half mile or so. The staff volunteers are very knowledgeable. Your small and big kids will enjoy this side trip! Right now they are only open on Sunday afternoon so but will have Friday and Saturday hours in October for Halloween theme.

Despite the relatively small scale of the entire operation, what makes this place so cool are the people who “work” there. These volunteers give 100% and it shows. The 20 min round trip train ride is a must. Kids loved the chance to “toot” the horn at the end. A nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon with excited kids who want to go on a train ride!

Excellent time had by all! Super kind, knowledgeable, and informative staff! The girl helping with the bell on one of the exhibits was SO SWEET. We will 100% return! Looking forward to the holiday events!!

Nice place. Can spend 1-2 hours. They have a short rail ride and you can climb different rail cars and engines. Parking is free on site.

Beautiful passion project. Our family had a wonderful time. May this continue to hold value as a piece of history for future generations.

While we could always use more historical signage, the staff were amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. They were open and helpful. There was a amount of things to see and do. Very kid friendly and cost effective.

We went for the Ghost Trolley which is widely touted as a “family-friendly” event. Every family is different but the decor was way creepier than I expected for something that’s good for little kids (I.e., It clown, gross witch faces, a real casket). There were kids there who did ok but I’d caution if your child is very young or on the sensitive side, I’d visit another time of the year or while it’s still light out. We ducked out early (and the volunteer was very understanding). You were supposed to get a goodie bag at the end so my daughter was even more bummed knowing she didn’t get a goodie bag because she wasn’t “brave” enough. Will try to visit again in summer or for Christmas.

I’ve driven by here and wondered what this place was! We went for the Halloween ghost trolly. Cute little tour and nice to see a piece of history. Imagine how people and things used to be transported through the country before airplanes and semis. Kid loved the trolley ride. Ghost stories were cheesy but lil boy made sure to hold on to his ticket so he could come back lol.

I went for the Halloween themed train tour. I hate to give this place a lower review because you can see the effort the staff put in to making the tour enjoyable. My main issue was the group size. Even though we prepaid for tickets our group was way too large. While I understand social distancing has been relaxed, this was as if Covid never existed. The train ride was fun and quick which was all my 2 year old wanted to do anyhow. IMO this would be better for kids 4 and up.

Staff is super nice and welcoming. They are all volunteers . The ride made my kid very happy. It's included in the price. It's short, but ok. The cost is low. The place needs love (and donations I guess). Worth it I think... maybe for teain lovers

The museum was great. The train ride was very short. It was 1.5 miles one way, then you go back. The train moves very slowly. You are able to go on many different train cars to look around. It is great for people of all ages.

Very nice place to take a short train ride and see some railway history. The volunteer staff is excellent. We had a great experience!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of old trains to tour with interesting history. Volunteers are really doing a fantastic job restoring the railcars keeping their history alive.

Great little museum. Entering the railway station is a step back to early 1900s. Passionate volunteers tell the great story of trains with a ride included. Children love this place, climbing on trains, ringing the bell and dreaming dreams of yesteryear. They museum needs help! Money, volunteers to maintain and take the museum to another level. We donated, great place will be back.

So much fun to see the museum and hear about the history of the cars. Train ride was great. Belle could speak a little slower.

A good size for an afternoon or morning excursion. Not so much as to be overwhelming, but plenty to see and touch.

Great place to take the kids for an hour or two. You can ride an old train car down the tracks a little way and there are some other old trains to look at and walk through. The kids loved pushing all of the buttons in the old train engine operator cabin. There was the usual small wooden train set but the kids loved that too. Small gift shop, bathrooms. The staff were very nice and gave out goodie bags for Halloween! Opens at Noon on Sunday with first train leaving at 12:30pm.

Good for one or two visits. Takes less than 30 min to get through the train cars.
