A
large
portion
of
the
staff
are
cold
and
uncaring.
The
psychiatrist
was
rude,
condescending,
dismissive,
and
outright
disrespectful.
He
completely
dismissed
and
belittled
my
primary
diagnosis,
acting
as
if
it
didn't
even
exist
at
times.
The
units
are
incredibly
understaffed.
(2,
maybe
3
staff
members
at
a
time)
Understaffing
results
in
a
lack
of
resources
for
when
patients
are
in
crisis
or
distress
and
need
someone
to
talk
to.
There's
a
lack
of
food
options
as
well.
The
entire
colour
scheme
is
dark
and
dreary
aside
from
the
blank
white
walls.
Everything
else
is
a
dark
brown
or
other
dark
colours
and
not
supportive
of
more
positive
emotions.
The
only
positive
parts
of
being
here
were
the
limited
times
I
got
to
speak
with
Emily,
Natalia,
Nicole,
Nick,
Jocelyn
(spelling?),
and
Vickie(spelling?).
All
of
which
seemed
to
genuinely
care
and
attempt
to
empathize.
They
very
much
helped
me
get
through
this
experience.
One
staff
member,
when
asked
for
a
snack,
required
me
to
give
them
a
hug
despite
me
stating
multiple
times
that
doing
so
made
me
uncomfortable.
Other
patients
and
the
staff
member
proceeded
to
laugh
at
me
afterwards
for
how
uncomfortable
I
was.
The
initial
intake
room
resembles
very
much
that
of
a
prison
intake/holding
room.
The
social
worker
doing
intake
crossed
multiple
stated
boundaries,
as
well
as
attempted
to
dig
up
past
trauma
before
abruptly
leaving.
This
facility
feels
like
nothing
more
than
a
way
to
make
money
off
the
mentally
ill
and
those
in
crisis.
There's
very
little
actual
respect
given
by
doctors
to
patients.
Specific
staff
are
the
only
saving
grace,
and
they're
few
&
far
between.
I
would
very
much
recommend
going
to
Riverside
Methodist
or
OSU
if
you're
in
need
of
psychiatric
care
and
avoiding
Sun
at
all
costs.
