Honestly, the condition of the men's locker room is unacceptable. Allow me to start by saying that I use to be a janitor at highly trafficked gym, so I know how to keep a gym and it's locker room clean. I'm in the gym at 5am. There is absolutely no reason the locker room should look like this when I get there. Towels everywhere. Clogs of hair in the showers. Bottles, razors, bandaids in the showers. Half of which don't have locks on the door or hooks for your belongings. There are little flying bugs all over. They're just dirty. The mirrors are filthy too. And it sounds petty, but walking in to see all the locker doors open, shows that it hasn't been cleaned. The condition of the gym itself isn't great either. Half of the towel dispensers are empty. Trash is piled up. Keep in mind, this is when the gym opens. What's it look like hours later? We all know that a gym is crawling with germs and friends alike. They should be pristine. At the very least, the staff is nice. I'm typically greeted with a smile and always acknowledged as I'm leaving. It's also very nice that you are open so early, so thanks for that. But please spend some time and attention on improving the condition of your establishment.

Not very clean, vacuum cleaner is from the 1980 and smells like feet. 🤢 YMCA is cleaner and cost 35$ a month.

It’s a really dirty gym girls room needs some new carpet honestly. Women's bathroom looks like the floors have never been cleaned. Equipment is very dirty too(like the treadmills and ellipticals) workers are friendly but should put a bigger effort into cleaning

Loved the pool and the variety of equipment. But when I wanted to cancel my membership, it took 5+ trips in person for them to tell me every time they couldn't cancel my membership because a manager wasn't in. I was then told the only way I could cancel my membership was if I mailed something in. One of the managers said he would take care of my account. Turns out he didn't and then I got a phone call saying I owed a balance. Called in and after waiting 2+ hours for a phone call back, the guy said he could waive the fees if I joined the gym again. Then he told me that he could actually cancel my account after telling me I'd have to pay the fee. The staff was always friendly when I came in but I will definitely not join again. They need to have an option to cancel your membership on the app or online. They also bribe you for a 5 star review. They said for a Chipotle giftcard if you left a good review.

Not a bad gym at all. However the general manager is a snake and be careful. They were running a promotion and advertising everywhere for $9.99 a month. The GM said that if I did that option I couldn’t use any free weights or anything upstairs. Then threatened me by saying if you do it and I catch you using any of the facilities, I’d have to pay. I believed him because he’s the GM. Upon further arrival at reading into the deal. All gym equipment is included just not classes, sauna pool and extras like that. I am switching gyms solely because of him. Everyone be aware and as ridiculous as it sounds bring proof because he will try his hardest to rip you off.

Polaris Member since 2017: UPDATE: after recent layout changes-this gym has become non-functional for the most part. i have evaluated every Esporta in Columbus and this is the least functional now. The plate loaded TechnoGym section is useless. Manufacturer spec has minimum clearance for these plate loaded machines, impossible to have adjacent machines loaded simultaneously without injury. see pics. apparently whoever set this section up has never used these machines. this section has also totally limited the mini lifefitness jungle gym immediately to the left on the second flood. IMO-to save space tighten up the hoist or the pinned technogym m/cs on the right side 2nd floor. they dont need that much space. have asked others (~15 patrons) they all agree. i now go to New Albany. much better for everything.

This place is the worst kept gym I have ever been a part of. Half of the equipment is broken. The trash is overflowing at 6 in the morning (they just opened an hour ago). It looks like the equipment hasn’t been wiped down in months. There isn’t anybody at the front desk in the morning about half the time. They can’t even open on time most days. It is a great example of a mismanaged and uncared for facility.

Cons: Very dirty and dusty. Lots of equipment always broken and takes forever to be fixed. Only 1 squat rack. Too many ellipticals. Gets very crowded since other locations have closed. Weekend hours suck. Need more attachments & handles for cable equipment. No steam room. Old machines. Many people dont re-rack their weights. Pros: sauna, showers, walking/running track, plenty of cardio equipment if that’s why you’re here. They offer some classes You get what you pay for 🤷🏼‍♂️

The front desk staff are great! I am visiting from out of state for a month. Since I came 2 weeks ago every staff person I have met have been friendly and helpful. I have been here a couple previous times when I’m in Ohio. This time I noticed how clean the gym is also. Great job! I look forward to knowing I have a clean gym with personable staff to come to my next trip.

I've been a member here since February of this year. Staff are kind and friendly. But the equipment is really old, dirty and worn out. Using the low row the other day and it feels like it needs some wd40. Went to stretch and the mats are really old, dirty and ripped up. Would be nice if they can update some of the older equipment

I trained at the Polaris location for 6 months before moving and switching locations, so I haven’t been back for awhile. I visited today since I was on that side of town, and I must say, I’ve noticed a great change! I was greeted with warm energy and smiles, the equipment was well kept, and the space felt really clean! Donovan (I hope I’m spelling his name right), the new GM, introduced himself to me and asked how my experience was. It made me feel appreciated because I noticed that he genuinely cares for the experience of myself and the other members. I train at many gyms, and I would definitely recommend this location to those looking to enjoy a great workout and community! 10/10 :)

The gentleman showing me around was great. Had all the information I needed. Good equipment. Place didn't seem well ventilated, but the most disappointing part was the kicker room. Mold around the edge of the sink and showers were dirty. I didn't sign up as I would need to use these areas, and it made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the place.

I had a great workout here. From out of town so the experience was a little different. I like how they have the track upstairs... used that a lot. The machines are also quite well maintained and most of them work. Idk tho, and this is prolly cz of the season but there were a lot of fallen over tissues in the bathrooms. Other than that it was pretty clean.

This gym is the biggest scam I’ve ever seen. The employees don’t care, the machinery doesn’t work, the lockers are falling apart and when you open the doors there are holes and broken doors everywhere. They then won’t allow you cancel your membership, it took 4 visits and 6 hours of fighting to get them to allow you to cancel my membership. They also don’t abide by their poster hours. I have been working out in the gyms when the employees have decided they are done for the day (Not weather related) and simply shut off all of the lights while people are working out (happened at a different Columbus location). When this a manager was reached out to no response was given. Then they charge you a fee for cancelling even if the reason is that they aren’t fulfilling their part of the contact which is to have a working gym. This business is as bad as robbers and as unethical as they get.

One of the worst gyms I’ve been a member of, and I’ve been working out for 40 years. The staff is highly disengaged and spends a considerable amount of time just hanging out at The desk or playing basketball in the entrance area. The hours are the worst of any Esporta in town, and likely any other gym in town. Every other Esporta stays open until seven but this one is too cheap to pay their staff to stay past five. You can do better elsewhere.

Run by high schoolers. No clear cancellation policy, will hang the phone up on you when you ask to cancel your membership. Very low value of your dollar here. Go ahead and switch to Lifetime - that is of course after you spend months trying to cancel this membership. They won’t even give you a refund for months you didn’t use their facilities. I tried to cancel for 7 months and they would not refund anything. They’re thieves.

Great facility and great staff. Would love to see newer equipment like the one on Broad Street but all in all it does have everything you need the pull is a plus and the cycling rooms are fun. If you want a place to workout I would highly suggest it.

Most equipment is dirty and a handful of the machines in the womens room seem to be permanently out of order. Lots of creeps go here. Only one squat rack and the rest are smith machines crammed into a dark back corner with the rest of the free weights.

The gym is ok, this location has the best ladies room. The reason I'm giving such low stars is that every time I come here there are deceased birds on the ground. I feel like they should put something on the windows to deter the birds from flying into the building. I am so concerned about the amount of dead birds I've seen here.

The gym itself is great! Good equipment and great trainers for the classes. Only thing…the womens locker room, bathroom area smells like a petting zoo and is a mess.

Went to the Esporta Gym for the first time today. It was a Saturday. The gym was MUCH cleaner than the New Albany Location. I saw workers cleaning several times during my workout. Machine selection was slightky better also. Good first impression.

My personal trainer, Rose, is amazing. She keeps me moving. She prepares my workout ahead. When I arrive we start working out. We have become friends. I love my workouts.

New general manager is awesome. Great to meet him. Gym is nice, wish there was some open space for stretching and wish the sound would play for movies in the theater room but other than that, great place

I’ve been coming to this gym for two years now. It’s always been a pleasant place to come to, when I need a change of scenery I go to another one of their location. I’m always satisfied with this place and the staff usually greats when I walk in.

It was awesome. There is a sauna, showers, changing room. The top floor it a walking path. I came with someone and got a 7 day pass. The guy at the counter was super nice and knowledgeable.

My husband and I have been working out here for awhile now and have been to many of the same gyms- the only complaints we both have is soap needs to have soap and toilet paper should always be filled… other than all that it’s a great place. Socks and clothes etc laying around is more so the person that left stuff behind as another person posted towels etc but if I left something somewhere and to go back and find it in the same spot is great (or lost and found) overall the place is good

This gym is pretty nice. I would love to see some of the cardio machines that are not used be removed so that 1 or 2 more squat racks can be added.

This used to be LA Fitness and the equipment is fairly good. They have a very diverse selection of machines to choose from. The freeweight area is pretty good considering the amout of benches available.

Former LA Fitness stepped up by reducing membership price. Love the ladies only room. Clean, but some of the staff are clueless and need more training.

This place is very prejudice. The general manager Jen or Jan or whatever is very racist. The older members are known to be very rude and stuck in there ways while the higher ups make excuses. They also have a thing about talking about members and staff on “the spectrum” and as an advocate for mental health and inclusiveness I was very uncomfortable. If you have the time go to Graceland or broad st. Plus they can’t keep a personal trainer to save theirs lives. They’ve had a month turnover rate the past year so you do the math if your paying 3-5 hundred dollars for a 4 month program that doesn’t even cover the nutrition aspect of weight loss.

the TV’s infront of your face on every single treadmill really masked no sense. The gym has such beautiful ceiling to floor windows that you cannot even look out of? It feels suffocating having screen infront of your face when running.

My home gym is the Polaris Parkway location and that location is always dirty. The employees do not clean that place. Used paper towels are always sprawled throughout the place. I came from planet fitness where they did a great job of cleaning.. But I visited the eSporta in Grandview yesterday and I really see the difference from that one and the Polaris location. I think I am going to the Grandview location more!

I’m from Pittsburgh and sometimes I have to work in Columbus and when I do, I’m able to get a great workout in any time of the day at this location. Even when Rush hour gets out of work and the place appears full, people keep it moving and it clears out pretty quickly.

Jake (left) is the best employee here! So kind & cool & helpful! Whatever he’s making, it’s not enough! He needs a raise! Great worker! (The 5 stars is specifically for Jake. The gym could definitely be better overall)

I'll start with a positive...Jake and the young lady that open the gym at 5:00am each morning are great. They are on time, friendly and welcoming. The gym itself has 3 main issues.... 1) Cleanliness - The place is filthy. Floors, equipment, bathrooms, everything. But then again what would you expect when nobody ever cleans the place? I go pretty much every morning and can't remember the last time someone was in there cleaning. 2) Equipment - Constantly broken and takes forever to get fixed. For example, the leg extension machine is currently broken and has been for over a month now. As a previous manager told me, the business plan is to constantly repair and not replace equipment. That's fine, then have a plan in place to be able to fix equipment in a timely manner. Shouldn't be that hard as it's the same equipment needing repaired over and over. 3) Management - They are pretty much just there. They do nothing to make the gym better. When they do make changes they are terrible decisions. For example, someone decided to take all the Hammer Strength equipment and jam it into one small area. The equipment is so close it is basically touching. At times it is difficult to get inbetween equipment just to put on weights. And all this was done to create space for personal training, which 99% of your customers don't use. So great idea, inconvenience many to satisfy a few. I have been a member at this gym for years now. Nothing ever changes and nothing ever will. While traveling for work I have been to LA Fitness/Esporta in Charlotte, Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, LA. NONE of them have been filthy dirty full of broken equipment. I will never understand why LA/Esporta continues to allow this site to be a dumpster fire?!?

👍👍 Great place to park and workout if you are a TRUCK DRIVER. As long as you are out of the way and not blocking people getting in and out, etc they have always let me park here. In return, I always keep an eye on their property after hours FOR FREE whenever I’m here to make sure nobody messes with it....
