Trails are well maintained, a few different parking areas that are adequate in size. Also I liked the observation platforms that gives you a better view of the ponds and wetlands.

A few different entrances. A good one to go and bike from is Glacier Knoll. Ellis Pond is nice and quiet. It is a good birding spot as they have a telescope to use. We saw a heron and a few other birds. They have a grass walking path and restroom (closed for COVID-19)

Very nice place. Great for riding your bikes and taking pictures. There's a small work-out place near the picnic area. The picnic area is spacious and clean. The grill needs to be cleaned off, but other than that it's a great grill. The restrooms are right next to the picnic area and they're clean and big.

The new playground is wonderful. It's different than most as it's climbing and balance focused and there's no slides. There are 3 hammocks though which is pretty awesome.

Nice and clean park. It was quiet with very few people. The path was not paved, just grass, so prepare for wet ground if visiting after rainy days. Some parts of the path were not possible to cross due to the amount of water. Still a fun place! And allowed to take dogs.

Great park to see lots of wildlife. This time of year, the plants can block some of the views, but there's plenty out there!

My boyfriend and I have been here several times and we both enjoy it. Lots of bird watchers here. I’m not huge into that kind of thing, but we’ve seen the eagle that lives in the huge nest once or twice and it’s really cool. There’s plenty of of other wildlife, too. There were a couple times where I’ve seen small snakes. It didn’t bother me tho; they were harmless. Overall, it’s a nice quiet place. I’m a relatively fast-paced walker, and I usually spend about 35-40 minutes here.

Pickerington Ponds is a wonderful walking experience there is more than one area and there are many paths and a good and kinda bad thing is you can't take your pets there for a walk. But if you want to relax and decompress I would recommend this park.

This park has multiple trails, great for the Walker-Type. A small play area with a pond is present, but the Best thing about the park.....the Hammocks!

This park is a birdwatcher's paradise!! We visited on a crisp January Saturday. Walked the trails for about two hours. Saw a bald eagle, half a dozen blue herons, three swans, flights of long necked geese and ducks, and heard wild turkeys. We are definitely coming back in the Spring to see the migratory birds passing through. Bring binoculars to get the best viewing experience! Trails are mostly graveled and well maintained but there are muddy spots and some standing water in low areas, so wear good waterproof footwear. Five or six viewing platforms offer excellent vistas of the various ponds and fields. We encountered perhaps a dozen other visitors who were all friendly and respectful of social distancing rules. Not a park to bring pets because most of the trails prohibit pets. There is a small playground, shelter area, and restrooms at Glacier Knoll in north end of the park.

If I were a runner or if I rode my bike, I would probably give the 17 mile loop a 5 star rating and so I'm putting this first in my comments. I would also add the divided blacktop "trails" for both of these activities are stellar. I think the ponds are pretty cool too but as a walker and/or with a dog, the park is disappointing. I feel bad saying this. To walk my dog, I would go anywhere else but here. It's very boring and the loop isn't long enough to both with. Why the trail by one of the ponds couldn't be dog friendly is beyond me. I feel the signage and entrances are confusing. I thought they would have improved by now. Very much trial and error. The resyrooms are nice and the park is, spotless.

Our first time visiting this park was today and it was nice. Hiking trails are taken care of and offer a great way to explore the outdoors. Will definitely be going back to see it in other seasons.

  • 3/5 Larry V. 3 years ago on Google
Snow covered roads, done of the ponds with light ice.

  • 5/5 Bryan B. 2 years ago on Google
A lot of wildlife to see and well kept park. While there we saw two osprey, two snakes, a turtle, a few carp and possibly the top of an eagle's head in the nest. Definitely worth visiting.

Clean, well used and well patrolled. I always feel safe here. Trailhead to Blacklick trail is maintained well also. Restrooms and water available but water fountain is off in cold weather.

Such a beautiful and under appreciated park - it’s conveniently located and is like a little oasis in a busy part of the state.

Walk here every Sunday morning. Deer, raccoons, rabbits, eagles, and multiple types of other birds. Early walks enjoyable.

We USED to love this park. It has several separate areas with great trails, biking, etc. There is a variety of waterfowl, birds and critters throughout the seasons including an active eagle nest, osprey nests, egrets, swans and cygnets and more! However, lately we've noticed it's becoming a destination for people who have zero interest in nature and make it so you have to be careful to avoid uncontrolled dogs off leash and awkwardly share a hazy viewing platform with people blazing it up off to the side and leaving trash. Not cool. Make it stop before it gets worse.

winter peace and tranquility, quiet, solitude, stillness, solemnity. If every Walmart and 1970's mall development were a park like this, we'd have a perfect world.

  • 5/5 Liz H. 11 months ago on Google
Great place this time of year to see the beloved and beautiful Sandhill Crane! Eagle and Osprey nests are also present. Along with an abundance of other wildlife.

This is a Great place to end the day with a nice walk through their winding paths. Deer can be seen as well while walking, see the picture. Bike roads are also available and there is a restroom to use.

Pickerington Ponds is beautiful and very well taken care of! Great place to bike, run or walk! Strongly suggest applying tick repellent!

Pickerington ponds is just a beautiful little place to stop and enjoy a bit of nature. Its not a huge preserve but the amount of things available on this smaller place is amazing. Herons, snapping and slider turtles, fish, frogs, raccoons, doves, dragonflies... and even an Eagle. Its a fun place to grab some quick photos of nature. A close bike trail that leads on further throughout the city and places to lunch at also... ♡ Truly a beautiful place.

We go here for hunting pokemon and painted rocks. It's a pretty place, but ⚠ SO MANY TICKS. Even a 10 minute trip yields us finding them on our stuff or in the car on the ride home.

This was a beautiful place for a nature walk. The grounds are obviously well cared for and yet we still felt like it was the home of the birds and the trees... not ours. Perfect!
