I recently visited The Short North Stage. I have not been in years. A gf of mine invited me for the production of Kinky Boots and it was an amazing show. Everyone did stellar! The place gives a feeling of movie theater, but the events that take place here feels like you are in the cinemas. Nice, friendly and welcoming service. Free parking after a certain time near the theater or nearby parking for a fee. Decent prices.

Kinky Boots is a spectacular show! Just blown away and the professional caliber performances during the show! My son and I attended during the Xichigan v Ohio State game and we were both wow'd. As first timers we weren't sure what to expect - they did start about 10 minutes late, but from the time they started until the end it was so incredibly wonderful. Lola and Charlie both had beautiful voices, Lola brought tears to my eyes as she belted out her torch song!! Lauren was a delight she flipped from cute to funny to a woman who can belt out a song with the best of them! Kudos to the entire cast! Don totally deserves a mention as he brought his role to a new level by helping out at the end in silver shorts *wink* not spoiling that for y'all who don't know yet!! I have already purchased tickets for an upcoming show and would recommend live theater at the short north stage to anyone ! Not a bad seat in the house for sure! It's a beautiful space. Next time I will come early enough to enjoy an adult beverage in the lounge.

The cast did an amazing job of Rocky Horror Picture Show. Nick Hardin was a wonderful Frank N Furter. I can’t wait to go back to see more shows here.

We loved Rocky Horror. (Read more about parking.) This is a great venue in the old Garden Theater on High Street just south of 5th. Parking can be a problem. Uber or Lyft is a good solution. The Hubbard garage was full at 6pm on Thursday night. All parking within a mile of the theater is either by sticker or Parkmobile app and those parking spots have a 3 hour limit until 10pm. If you use Parkmobile at 7pm, the parking will be free at 10pm. We went to Zenos on 3rd until 7pm then parked on Neil, a half mile walk to the theater. The sidewalks on 5th are dangerous and not heel friendly. The bar next door is the house bar. The drinks are pricey, as expected but also small. Ask for a tall drink if you want it to last through act 1. They have a decent beer selection too. When you make your reservation, you will see seating at what looks like tiny tables next to the stage. That's exactly what they are and you are almost a part of the performance. The rest is grandstand style at the back of the small room. There's not a bad seat in the house.

Great performance of Beautiful- a musical highlighting Carole King' early career. Wonderful cast. Small, cozy theater with attached bar. We will be back

My husband got a season tickets for 2022, and we just saw our first show in Rock of Ages. Although it’s a small venue, that’s the charm of it. The seating is great and seems close to the stage no matter where you’re at. They take care of their season ticket holders with extra perks, and the selection at intermission of snacks and drinks is wonderful. All of that aside, the acting choreography, and music is amazing for such a small stage. We hope to enjoy the shows for years to come.

Saw Spamalot tonight. The Short North Stage did a great job. The show was well produced and funny. The crowd was socially distanced as were the performers. Highly recommend that if you are looking to see a live show.

We were in Columbus for the weekend and saw 'Rent' here. There's not a bad seat in the house, as it's a smaller, intimate venue. Really, the whole experience was fantastic. The tech Team, musicians, actors & actresses were incredible - so much talent in one place! We were laughing, crying, smiling, clapping & cheering as the storyline progressed. So, so good. Thanks to all who were part of bringing this to production! Bravo! "525,600 minutes... " 😁

I have been two two plays here at the Short North Stage and I have loved them both. Love the smallness of the place but yet grand in experience and talent! Sister Act was a show stopper! Amber Knicole and rbe rest if the case did an amazing job!

Such a treasure to have a venue right in the Short North area to host amazing shows. Great neighborhood local feel with its size and lights strung up above, but the talent that shows up on this stage goes far beyond a local feel! Last night's Pippin was fabulous! The aerial portions were very cool. The production was very creative and the cast was phenomenal! The cute brick-walled bar side offers up some great drinks (which may be taken into the the theater; glory be!!) I had a "Morning Glow" (named after a song in the the play) It had tequila, oj and grenadine. It was quite good. 😊 Try taking in a show there soon.. You'll have a great time!

Saw Rocky Horror. It was great. The show was entertaining and beautifully done. Snacks were decently priced and good. Seats were fairly comfortable, parking wasn't bad, even on a game day.

Have loved every show we've seen here. Amazing talent. More leg room in seat rows than other major theaters. Not a bad seat in the house. Reasonable ticket price.

This was my first time coming to this theater and I saw Kinky Boots. Overall the theater is nice and I don't think there is a bad view in the house. Overall everyone working there was friendly, excited and grateful we were there. The production of Kinky Boots was 10/10! They did an AMAZING job and I look forward to returning for more shows in the future. If you get the chance to come here you should! Parking at the lot next door was 3 dollars for 3 hours which was also super fair.

We attended β€œSister Act” a week ago and LOVED the show!!! The greeter were so inviting and the theater was charming. Restrooms were freshly painted. Seating was good in the theater. The bar was clean and priced low. But the reason we went was for the musical and let me say it was remarkable! Very excited to see! We were so surprised at all the talent in this show! ! Sound was pretty good! Costumes were wonderful! Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will be back!!!

This theater is small but mighty. I have seen about a dozen shows here and have been amazed and impressed by each show. They put on a nice mix of shows- well known to rarely seen. If you love local, you will want to check out this performance space.

White Christmas is playing at North Stage. Christmas I received a ticket from my daughters, so we all went to see this play. Marvelous!! Great singing, dancing and acting. Everyone loved it. The performers received a standing ovation.

Went to see White Christmas, which everyone enjoyed greatly. The cast was a mix of profesional actors and local talent which worked well together. The theater is small, not a bad seat in the house. It is an old theater needs a little paint, but the audience was impressed with the entire preformance.

Celebrated our 30th anniversary. We went to some shows on our honeymoon. We really enjoyed "White Christmas ". The cast was great!

Just saw Into the Woods here and on Broadway, and liked this one better! High quality professional theatre, locally produced with a great mix of local and imported talent. Bar off the lobby is a good amenity. Needs better restroom arrangements. I like that the shows start early (7pm) although we missed Act 1 of the 1st production we attended, lesson learned. Good mix of artistic choices along with productions that will be well sold & received.

One of the best things about Columbus is the theatre scene and Short North stage is such a big part of that. Super chill space, amazing performances, and you can have a cocktail while you watch! What's not to love??

The cast talent is exceptional - and the off stage leadership and crew ensure every drop of that talent shines. The shows here rival NYC off-Broadway.

  • 5/5 Sharon C. 4 years ago on Google
Love the variety of shows here! Only downside is that the bar/snacks are not available all the time. It would be nice to be able to at least buy a bottle of water during ALL shows. The cast are wonderful and staff are always kind and friendly!

This gem of a theatre is not to be missed. Ever single production we've seen has rendered us, at a minimum, delightfully entertained, and, in the case of West Side Story, BLOWN AWAY. The choices across the board: cast, lighting, set, costume are spot on. This theatre's quality of production is an amazing value. Highly recommend you check out their work and support this incredible performance art venue.

  • 5/5 Bruce P. 4 years ago on Google
A great venue, and an awesome show! The stage is set higher than the seats, so you're looking up at the actors and it provides a great perspective. West Side Story was amazing!
