Good for one day trip with kids/ family. When it is hot outside inside the cave is so cool inside. A 50 minute guided tour is worth. You can also plan half a day visit. The entire trip may take no more than 3 hours including taking pictures and visiting gift store. There is a big landscape beside the gift store for children to play. They also have picnic tables. On weekends park closes at 5pm. Please bring your own water, food & snacks they dnt have a cafe there. The guide of our tour was so nice and knowledgeable. They are bunch of young kids and are very friendly. Two types of guided tour you get to choose from. We picked up the “natural” which was $20 per adult.

Really nice caverns and you can see the owners are invested in trying to find more rooms/paths within the caverns. The colors inside are pretty awesome and unique to other caves you may have previously toured. The guide had a good handle on the group, even though there were 30 people in the group, I think. I'd recommend stopping here to tour the caverns if you're able to.

Caverns themselves were beautiful. Historical tour gave a lot of good information. The other tour was "prettier." Tour guide knowledgeable and pleasant. We have visited cavers before and while the caverns themselves were always nice, the area outside is usually dirty. Here, even the bathrooms were clean!!! Nice, reasonably priced gift shop. Nice family day.

I visited a little while ago with my wife and son, and we had a great time. There are two regular tours, one historical and one more geological, and they were both great. The tour guides are well-informed and personable, the history of the caverns is interesting, and the caverns have some truly beautiful formations. At the end, they take a group photo of your party, which you can choose to buy (it's a pretty cool setting for a family photo), and then you can visit the gift shop, which has plenty of interesting things to buy. It is a kid-friendly attraction, but I recommend only taking children who are old/mature enough to not touch delicate mineral formations. My son was 11 at the time, and he really enjoyed our visit. It's a bit far from most urban areas other than Columbus and Dayton (we drove three hours from Canton), but it's really worth visiting if you've got time.

Located on 35 beautiful acres especially here in Early November, plentiful parking, restrooms, cool gift shop, and of course the guided tour. The Ohio Caverns is a must see if you are in this part of Ohio. There aren't many places that you can see what beauty hundreds of thousands of years of nearly untouched Earth looks like. Groups of 20 are led down the 20-30 stairs into the 54 degree cavern. Well informed tour guides give you the history of the cavern as you walk its narrow hallways. The 50 minute tour educates, entertains, and makes you appreciate the conservation of such a place. Lots of photo opportunities. The tour concludes with a 60 step ascent out. Great for all ages as long as you are physically able to navigate the stairs. Highly recommend!

I went here with my family and had a blast! We are Ohio natives and have never been here before. Lots to see and do. The caverns are beautiful and well maintained. The guides were helpful and informative. They have most amnesties here and if not there is a town nearby to shop or eat if you would like. Plenty of selections. The gift shop was a fun experience for the kids too. They got to crack their own geodes open with assistance from staff.

Beautiful grounds for this tour. Plenty of picnic areas outside. Once in the main building the tour begins right inside. Very professional and caring staff. Tip: the cave is always around 54 degrees any time of year so go in the winter and avoid the crowds. We enjoyed a very personalized tour and relaxed walk. The winter tour was about 1 hr and you can sense their passion for their caverns and conservation/protection. Plenty of history and explanation about what makes their caverns unique. Highly recommend

The staff was generous and informative; guides were knowledgeable and witty. The caverns were great and surprisingly there was a lot of head room most of the tour (I’m 6’4”). There are great photo opportunities as well as a point in the Natural Wonder Tour toward the end where the staff will take a soft framed photo for you that costs a couple bucks. We’re looking forward to going back over the next 50 years to see the columns connect 😅

I spontaneously decided on taking a tour today. We showed up, bought 2 tickets for the winter tour, they were about $24/adult. Waited only 15 minutes after arriving which we spent browsing their large and wonderful gift shop! Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and sweet. She had a wise woman charm about her, and she made the tour both informing and entertaining! I believe her name was Linda, and we also had Ashley assisting us on the tour. Hoping I’ll get the chance to come back out for the history tour and whatever else they have going on. We also had a great time sifting through the surprise gem dirt we bought. For the large bag it was $25, and although it may not be worth it for what you can possibly get in them, the memorable experience we had doing it together made up for the cost to us.

Ohio Caverns is a great place to spend a day with the family. It is definitely children friendly and you should bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after your time spent below ground exploring. The grounds include a large covered picnic pavilion. Ohio Caverns is a must see for all us Buckeyes. Would suggest you bring a hooded Sweatshirt for the children to keep them comfortable and dry since it's stays at 54° year round in the Caverns. A small flashlight to help navigate in some of the tighter areas. If you're a camera buff strongly recommend you either get in the very front of the tour or the end for better quality cave pictures. The staff delivered a informative tour about the geological formations and I highly recommend this to anyone young or old...

This is one of the natural wonder in Ohio. These caverns are amazing find and very well maintained. The guide and staff are very friendly and make your caverns tour memorable. Beast thing if the cavern is that none of the food item is allowed except water. There are amazing formation of crystals inside throughout the cavern which are 3/4 of a mile. There are two tours of two different caverns. Depending on the time you can plan, each tour takes 50 mins. There is plenty of space for parking, enough place to have picnic in amazing lush greenery with nice views. If you are nature lover the. It’s must visit. 👍👍👍

Our visit here was a nice visit and we had an awesome tour guide. There was a Little bit of a weight but that is because the tours are scheduled in incremental time frames we didn't have a problem getting into the next available tour. Tour groups are small enough that you don't feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable. We enjoyed shopping at the store and I even got to use their indoor sleuth box. We bought the $25 bag and the amount of cool rocks and minerals in it well exceeded the cost so I was very satisfied. We will be returning again this summer with my grandchildren. This is definitely an excellent tour. If you have never been to a cavern because it is not too long, it is not too short and it does not present a claustrophobic presence.

Beautiful caverns full of wonderful stalactites and stalagmites. Great tours with knowledgeable guides. It looks much better in real life than in pictures. Totally worth visiting. They are taking precautions for COVID with compulsory masks and spraying disinfectants on handrails. Small groups in tours.

Super clean grounds with beautiful landscaping. They clearly take pride in their cavern here. We purchased our tickets for the Natural Wonder tour and waited about 25 min for the next availability. Their gift shop is roomy, but it was still really congested with people, which during the pandemic, can be a bit scary. We were one of two families that wore masks among dozens of other people. The employees all wore masks and were very helpful and polite. When it was time for our tour, we met at the Natural Wonder tour sign outside beside the restroom outbuilding. We walked down a winding outdoor path lined with beautiful landscaping, including hibiscus bushes, saw grass bushes and juniper. When we arrived at the opening to the cave, our tour guide let us in and we were quickly blown away with the spectacular views inside. We have been to many many caves before, but this one is over the top when it comes to the colors and number of calcite stalagtites! I won't ruin it for anyone, but you MUST see this cave in person... these photos won't do it justice.

Staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Our tour guide was very clever and handled some heckling with a lot of grace and humor. Gorgeous underground cavern with dozens of great photo opportunities. One such opportunity the staff even have a camera with lighting setup to snap a picture of your whole group in front of an amazing view.

This is an awesome day experience. There are multiple places where you can have a picnic on the grounds and plenty of places for sitting in the shade. They have tours into the caverns roughly every half an hour. The gift shop is nice and the staff is very friendly. The bathrooms are extremely clean and the upkeep is awesome. We took the Nature tour and we loved every second of it. Our tour guides were very friendly and highly informative! The views inside were awesome. The tour took roughly 50 minutes and was worth our time and money. Definitely a place everyone should visit.

Took my 4 year old daughter here this past weekend and it was such a neat experience! We bought a big bag of sand for her to pan and she was lucky enough to find a huge chunk of amethyst, what a lucky girl! The caverns themselves are absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend buying both the historical tour and the natural wonders tour. You take a short bus ride to get to the historical tour entrance and they bless you back to the natural wonders tour. The prices are very reasonable and this is really an amazing place to take children of all ages, even great for just adults.

Nice experience. they have 2 different tours, 1 takes you through older caves (but very few crystals), and the other one takes through a much better maintained cave ecosystem (lots and lots of crystals, and big ones too). multiple tours during the day, last tour starts at 5 pm. Remember not to touch anything inside the caves, otherwise, they will kick you out (happened with one of the family on tour, which was not able to control their kids). Also, remember to get your food in sealed bags, you can enjoy the serenity ones you are out of the caves. A must visit location if you are in the Columbus area.

A friend and I decided to go to the Ohio Caverns for her birthday. GPS on the way there was EASYYYYY (coming from Findlay), and GPS reception lagged right when we needed it, but then there are large signs to the caverns which provide even better direction (thank you!). Arriving, you turn into what may be a privately-owned driveway, but with an Ohio cavern archway which helped. Another sign after the driveway showed that visitors are to continue behind the house which then turns into a park scene with a gift shop on the left. Signs pointed toward the gift shop to purchase tour tickets. The tour fee was $24/ adult, $12/ child. You can buy them online or at the register in front of the gift shop. Tickets are color-coded to identify which tour group is going. There is no ticket to bring home as a souvenir for scrapbooking (unfortunately). Entry fee is ridiculous, but I guess if the costs of upkeep of the area and paying employees is what contributes to the fee then so be it because the money is being well spent keeping up the place. Park closing state 4pm, but the tour guide clarified that 4p was the start time of last tour. The gift shop, bathrooms, and park were very clean and presentable. I have been to many parks like other people and this is by far the cleanest and nicest smelling public bathroom I have ever been to. The walking trail from the exit back to the parking lot and gift shop could use more benches for those who need a rest. The entrance was straight from the gift shop, so maybe this is a winter entrance (Nov.). What would make so much sense is if entry to the cave started at the end of the park and ended into the gift shop (similar to roller coaster rides or like in Disney). Instead, you are waiting at the gift shop and you enter through the gift shop and end up at the park. Well, my friend and I took so much time at the gift shop that we did not have time to purchase what was in our baskets so we asked somebody behind the counter to hold them for us to purchase after the tour. We missed the beginning explanation of the tour because of being in the gift shop (there was a long checkout line) but no videography or touching allowed. The cavern is definitely remarkable, there were about 10 people total in this tour, one employee in the front giving information and the one employee in the back answering questions. At the end of the tour, pictures were offered , but we declined. The whole tour was a quick 50 minutes but it is definitely worth going to and experiencing yourself! At one point they turn off the lights (which I'm hoping one day will be LED) so we can experience how dark being down there is. There was a small boy with us with light up shoes so it was quite a comical experience. I 'caved' and bought about $42 worth of souvenirs (two bags of hematite for my kids, 1 small slab of which 100% no relation to the cavern, but hey, I bought what I wanted. I'm glad I didn't bring my kids because $12/pp isn't worth it if their long-term memory isn't yet established. But with the souvenirs I brought home, they were very happy to play with stacks of hematite. More like 4.5 stars because the entry fee is too high. I would've liked some more time taking better pictures too, because being with a group meant to stay with the group. Would be cooler for a self-paced guided tour option ($30), and tour rate 20$ for adults and free 12 and under. Lowering the price would let me want to come back many times with different friends being only an hour away. Suggest to offer a lowered rate for Ohio/local residents ($10), and patronage programs for those who come back and bring new visitors/friends. The gift shop is awesome but I would've liked to buy a book about the rocks and minerals being sold (if there were, I didn't see). There's nothing else close to the caverns (food/lodging). We did go to the Dragonfly Winery 15 min. to snack before heading home.

Nice cave system, very impressive. I have been to a bunch of different caverns around the U.S. and this one was one of the more expansive ones that I have seen. It's surprising to see just how far you have traveled underground when you come out at the end point. The cave bacon lacked some redness to it, but the Crystal King was rather impressive and so was the xenomorph egg looking thing. Also, the floating pillars were unique and something I had not seen before. It's out in the middle of nowhere, but a very worth-while trip.

Nice tour through an ancient underground waterway. Early discoverers removed centuries of mud and silt revealing all kinds of geological formations. Tour is not too strenuous, but stairs out will make your thighs burn! Winter tour is 50 minutes versus two 50 minute summer tour options. The autumn foliage in the surrounding area was peaking.

They are most gracious in allowing everyone to come out and raise awareness for suicide prevention . The facilities are beautiful and you definitely get your exercise in participating in the color 1K and 5K. Just being able to gather as a group of survivors and supports was awesome . Especially keeping in mind the need for social distancing. The caverns are really nice to go through and I plan on doing that again soon.

Easy to get to and well run Ohio Caverns has done a terrific job with their guided tours. As a former caver I've explorer many wild caves in this section of the country and never seen anything like this in the amount of crystal formations. The quantity and quality of formations are unrivaled. Other that adequate footwear for walking in sometimes wet footpaths no special safety equipment is needed or recommended. Bring a flash light just in case, you are under ground! Lighting in the cave is adequate and expertly done enhancing natural features within the cave. The grounds are well maintained and includes park like amenities such as outdoor seating with bucolic views, a sluice trough for mining with kids of all ages. A map is provided for a walking tour of the property to identify over 30 species of mature trees. That is freeand guest are encouraged to linger and enjoy the grounds. A picnic shelter is available as well. Much of the facility is now powered by solar array. Plenty of parking and a large restroom facility is available. Very pleasant place to visit. Adequate roadside signage is posted starting along OH SR 68.

Absolutely a great experience, this tour is very friendly and given at a moderate pace so that pictures can be taken and questions can be asked. The gift shop is very sizable and all of the employees are very knowledgeable about the caverns, as well as its history. Highly recommended without a doubt.

Such a great place to visit. We drove almost two hours and it was totally worth it! The grounds are beautifully kept, as well as the buildings. The restroom was nice and clean, and the gift shop had very unique gifts to remember your visit. We did the Winter tour, and it was spectacular. The cave tour was very informative and was beyond words how unique and gorgeous the formations were. Definitely a must see!

We loved this place! During our tour, our tour guide told us that if the water drips on you, it’s a sign of good luck, and he was right! Later on after visiting Hocking Hills, while we were driving back home to our town in Fort Wayne I got pulled over for speeding, and I did not get issued a ticket and I attribute it to the good luck, dripping from the ceiling of the caverns! And being absolutely honest with the officer that I am an idiot! Anyway, back to the subject at hand, these caverns are awesome! I love the fact that they are so informative with the age of some of the stalagmites and stalactites and columns. It’s a magical place, and I would recommend and go again!

Went here back in March of 2023. Had a blast and learned a lot. I went with some of my Airforce buddies and we made the tour guides day by being some goobers. Pros and cons are down below. Pros: While not a huge variety of minerals, there’s ancient glacier markings and some of the biggest calcite pieces you’ll ever see. Very well informed guides that know the entire history of the cave. Cave is kept very nice because of the strict no touching and bringing garbage down policy. The tour is of decent length so you don’t feel like “that’s it?” The navigation of the tour is not hard or difficult other than the very first decline in stairs and when you incline to get out of the cave. There’s a part in the cave where you can drink the water!(I did) Lastly, their gift shop is very nice and the entire area surrounding the place is pretty. Cons: You can’t take videos, touch, or really keep anything you see or find. The price of the tour and gift shop are quite high, but that’s expected of tourist type places. Lastly, you can’t wonder off from the group of people (there’s usually a good amount) and so other people can potentially ruin your experience. Please don’t bring rowdy kids that you can’t control!

The caves were amazing! All of the staff members were super nice, friendly, & helpful. This is definitely a fun day to get away with your family or with your loved one. You will not be disappointed. We saw both caves & there were 4 of us and it was only a few bucks over $100 & honestly I think that was such a good price.

What a fun place for a little adventure! This place is about 50 minutes away from Dayton and provided the perfect escape for our family. We visited twice over the course of late summer. The first time, just our family and second time when we had friends visiting from CA. Both times we paid for the basic tour. Hearing it a second time allowed me to pick up details I didn’t the first time around. It also allowed me to really appreciate the amount of time it has taken this structure to form. Pretty amazing! Both tour guides were great! As well as the gift shop, mining and little playground by the entrance. This place is great for the whole family. The only heads up - when you’re inside the cave, you’re NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE WALLS. Because if any of the structures are broken (and then they can be with the slightest touch), you will be fined a ton of money by the state. So if you have little ones who are in the phase where they simply can’t control themselves, skip the tour and save it for later.

The tour was fantastic and fabulous in every conceivable way. Our tour guide: Tristan, was so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fun; he answered every question we had. Be it about the cave or not. The cave was so beautiful and well preserved. The tour makes for a great date or gift; regardless of age. My wife and I are already planning on coming again, and seeing other caverns as well. Well worth the 2-hour drive.

Great place. The tour was great. The tour guide was really great too. Even the gift shop was very reasonably priced and had so many different fun things. Only downside is there was a very long wait to go on the tour so I think earlier in the day would be better.

Very fun! We took the combo tour - worth the money. Historic tour discussed the discovery and how it all came to be; not many spectacular crystals on this tour, but the history discussed is interesting. The Natural tour features King Crystal and several rooms filled with crystals. After our second tour, we purchased a "mother lode" bag for panning. Took us about 20-30 minutes finding all the goodies. We took our time panning since the children had to identify each thing they found (fossils, shark teeth, arrowheads, citrine, quartz, peridot, and petrified wood just to name a few identified). Recommend & will be back.

These are some nice caverns. I went here on a cave tour and was satisfied with my experience. I parked at the cave’s parking lot and walked into the building by the parking lot. I bought my ticket for the tour in the building and waited for it to start. While I was waiting, I looked around the cave’s gift shop, which had some geodes and other rocks for sale. Once the tour started, the tour group I was in went into the cave. The cave was pretty level, not having many ascents or descents. The cave had many stalactites and stalagmites, which I thought was very cool. The tour guide knew a lot about the cave, and he walked us through the whole cave. We went through a section of the cave which had lots of names inscribed on the cave’s walls. This is because tourists from the late 1800s wrote their names on rock while visiting the cave. The names were very well preserved and still legible, which surprised me. After we went through that part of the cave we passed by more stalactites and stalagmites until we got back to the cave’s gift shop, where the tour started. After the tour ended at the gift shop, I left the gift shop and walked back to my car. I drove away from the cave’s, satisfied with my experience. I gave this cave five stars because it’s a nice cave, having many stalactites and stalagmites. There’s also a large playground near the cave, but I didn’t go play on it. There were lots of large hills in the area, which surprised me. I thought this area of Ohio was completely flat, but upon doing further research, I found out that the highest elevated point in Ohio is in the area.

Worth it. A little bit of a touristy trap with pricing and imported gift shop items but the tour was really neat to see. We went during COVID and the small group size was a must - so much easier to ask questions, take pictures, and enjoy the experience with just a few people.

Fun and informative guided tour through the cavern. Really low ceiling and narrow corridors in spots. I'm 6'5", 220 lbs. and I had to duck and turn a lot. Nothing too bad though, still had fun. Check in process is easy and they do a good job calling out your tour number clearly.

I've been here a few times, and always really liked the park. Today, I attended their new Tuesday Turtle Feeding program with 2 children, and it was great! There are limited spots and masks are required, but it all felt very safe and was a great way to help teach the kids about some new animals. They talked about the different kinds of turtles, how they take care of them, and showed how all their food is prepared and fed. The center also had some monarch butterfly cocoons, and they usually have a lot of other great resources for kids but unfortunately those aren't available right now due to covid-19. But it's a really nice nature center! The park is great too, although I haven't explored much of it. Around the center, there are lots of flower gardens and butterflies. There are trails for walking/cycling, views of the river, etc. I also really like the pond with the little boardwalk, and you can usually see some frogs in there!

Fantastic park. I loved walking along the river. Great views of downtown Columbus. The climbing wall looked awesome.

  • 5/5 Jesse N. 3 years ago on Google
The trail was nice and well-maintained. The dog park was excellent, with a doggy-accessible drinking fountain, multiple sections and gates and agility obstacles and poo bag stations! Decent spread of pokéstops and gyms, too. Plenty of parking when we went on a Monday afternoon. Not much in the way of furniture in the section of trail we saw, just one bench on the water lookout balcony, and one picnic table near the nature center. Lots of round picnic tables under the shaded pavilion in the central dog park enclosure.

I really love going there. What used to be the cities impound lot, eyesore, was transformed into a beautiful park and mini nature preserve. Rock climbing wall, parcore course, nature and bike trails. Dogs are welcome, and there is a dog park for our furry family members. Be sure to take a walk through the Audubon center at the visitor center.

  • 5/5 Jake B. 4 years ago on Google
One of my go-to places to take my kids. They love walking around outside, the playground is fun, and they are always asking to play inside the center. Be warned – the center is often reserved for weddings and other events and this is not indicated anywhere online. So even if it says they are open, call ahead to ensure the building isn’t reserved.

Super informative and amazing! The tour guides were great, especially Rachel who was super funny and informative throughout our entire natural wonder tour. Being underground was an anxiety inducing at first. I can't explain why it's a feeling like no other, but it was exhilarating and made me appreciate the beautiful structures more. These caverns are very colorful, and narrow at times. The sudden narrowing and widening of the rock formations was very cool. This experience would be good for anyone looking to get some edutainment. The historic tour was interesting and gave good context to the natural wonder tour. The historic tour gives details about the initial excavations into the caverns and the way tours used to be conducted in the 1890s, very fascinating (and terrifying to think about). The natural wonder tour was where all of the undisturbed crystals were, and they were beautiful. The tour guides gave good information on how the crystals formed and engaged the audience with questions. We were also able to ask any questions we needed and it made the tour an active experience that I will remember rather than a passive one that I will forget. If you live in Ohio, you have to go see these caverns.

We’ve been to some magnificent and impressive caverns. These would not make the top 10 list. We took the combined tours of Natural History and Natural Wonders. On the Natural History tour you see some old names written/carved in the rock, walk through original tunnel and hear about the history. There are very little formations. In the Natural Wonders tour most of the formations come toward the end of tour. On both tours the guides could do better about point out and describing points of interest and the names of formations. Some of the formations in the Natural Wonders tour were incredible. If you’ve been to any of the better known caverns, this will be a disappointment.

  • 4/5 Yetemar-Kenyell C. 2 years ago on Google
I’d recommend taking the Natural Wonder tour of this place. It’s more focused on the geological beauty of what feels like an underground Grand Canyon. Not bad at all for the price. To imagine that this world exists beneath farmland is mind-blowing. VERY worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Matthew K. H. 2 years ago on Google
I hadn't visited this place since I was a kid, so it's been 25-30 years, probably... There was a lot I remembered, though. And taking my own kids, now, was a really neat experience. My 4 yr-old gets nervous and stand-offish with new experiences, sometimes, but even she had a lot of fun. It was her first time inside a cave system and still, weeks after we visited, she talks about it. If you're looking for a short, family-friendly activity, I'd recommend this place!

  • 5/5 Sherika S. 1 year ago on Google
Wow! History lesson at its finest! The tour guide was very knowledgeable. He was able to answer every question asked by the guest. The cavern had rock formations that took years to form. All of the stalactites and stalagmites are breathtaking to see.The cave is 54 degrees year round, a lil wet and I would suggest wearing comfy shoes you wouldn't mind getting a little wet and possibly a hat to stop the minor drips or cave kisses to your face. It was great to experience the tour with the family and learn about one of Ohio' s largest caverns while learning a little history. Get ready to view the Crystal King, the largest stalacite in Ohio.. a site to see!! After the tour, we walked the grounds, very clean open and huge place to picnic in the spring/summer months. The gift shop is so perfect. Gifts and price points for all. The attendants were very nice, friendly and were able to answer questions about all the crystals, etc. I recommend this for families. *Note- no video recording are allowed. *steps at the end of the tour can be hard for people with health issues as you have to take them to exit the cavern. Happy Caving!😃

  • 5/5 Astrid O. 1 year ago on Google
Well worth the trip! I’ve never seen caves like this. The tours are about 50 minutes long, and you have to be able to go up about 60 steps to exit the cave. The tour guides all looked about 18, but they are friendly and knowledgeable! If you go on a weekend, go early. We got there about 9:30 and the parking lot had plenty of space. When we were leaving at 12.00, the parking lot was totally full and a bunch more cars were parked on the grass.

Very cool destination to visit in Ohio. We did both tours and I would suggest you do the same. Very interesting formations and colors to be seen on the natural wonders tour. I would suggest buying your tickets online in advance. We arrived and it was a 45 minute wait for our first tour. This was the first day of our camping trip so we were in no rush. Be prepared to climb stairs and walk in wet conditions underground.

My daughter and I had a great time in the caverns. We did both tours at $30. Or you can do individual tours for $20 each. It was very busy. The guides were great. The cool caverns were a fantastic choice on a warm summer day.

  • 5/5 Anita D. 1 year ago on Google
The tour moves kind of fast but it was really nice. Definitely a must see. The historical tour gives a lot of info about how the caverns were found and the history of them coming to be an attraction, but doesn't have as much to see as the natural side does. It's worth it to do both tours the same day, from our experience. They are both short tours but be prepared to not be able to touch anything, you have to duck and bend between some areas to get around rocks and low level overhead, but it's only a few times. Definitely wear sneakers or boots as the concrete gets wet from rain water filtering through the limestone above. It is well lit and open enough to not feel claustrophobia. No video is allowed but camera is ok. They do have an alternative tour for handicap accessibility but I am unable to say if that was as good.

We have visited numerous caves and caverns over the years. Ohio Caverns hold their own as far as size and features. They offer several different tours. We took the Natural Wonder Tour, which lasted about an hour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took his time to answer questions and explain about the various formations. It was well worth the time and money.

I was pleasantly surprised. I took my daughters 32 and 15. My grandkids 4-6 and EVERYONE of them thanked me for taking them and said they are so glad we went. I ❤️ that they had a good time but tbh, I was the one who wanted to go and I didn't expect them to be so excited. Lol. Beautiful tour. Nice gift shop. Friendly helpful staff

Really great cavern tour. Beautiful and extensive. We went the last Saturday in February at 10:30am. The parking lot was already overflowing when we exited the tour at about 11:15am. Some of the passages can be narrow and/or low. They also turn off the lights at one point to demonstrate how it will be perpetually dark. One person got a bit overwhelmed and said they needed to leave. The second guide (the one bringing up the rear so no one wanders off) took them back to the entrance. The cavern floor had lots of puddled water. The tour guide said "It's not a matter of IF you get wet but WHEN you get wet." The dripping is what creates the stalactites and stalagmites. There were only a few spots dripped on us on the pathway. There were about 12 of us in the tour. I was in the back so it was difficult to hear the guide when she was walking. But she stopped many times to show us things, explain the history, and answer questions. I highly recommend.

Would I visit again? Sure On our week of Ohio day trips we went to the Ohio Caverns, a place we always wanted to visit. Great experience with our tour guide, Veronica who was both really funny and informative. Really glad it was a guided tour as the insights and info was super helpful. The caverns were really impressive from all the crystal structures in the different rooms. Hard to believe some are thousands of years old and will be around for thousands of more. Tickets were $24 for each tour and there was two options. We only did one (the main one) and I thought that was more than enough if I am being honest. I am not sure we will go again but glad I did it this one time and would recommend it for a daily activity.

The tour was worthy, many educational cave history and scientific information. The tour has being lasted for a century, which is cool.
