Beautiful place with nearly every walking path you could want. Surprisingly quiet and serene despite being smack dab in the middle of campus. Iconic view from the High Street end down to the library, even prettier at night. Current construction is making it ugly though.

The Oval is one of my favorite places on campus. I love seeing buckeyes playing, chatting with friends, or rushing to the Thompson library or other buildings.

A signature location on the campus of The Ohio State University. The long walk and historic trees and buildings of campus are a great spot to relax or stroll. Lots of pokestops for people who play pokemon go.

Fun fact: the road that marks the east border of the oval wasn’t there when the classroom buildings along the south side were built. City planned it so it cut in between the two eastern buildings and shortened the oval. You can see the effects to this day. The oddly curved sidewalk on the other side of the street used to be a continuation of the walkway in front of the other buildings, and the infamous “staircase to nowhere” used to be the front/oval facing entrance of the building.

A lovely green space through the center of campus. It receives fairly regular use by the student population during warmer weather. Nice place to see people just enjoying being outside and socializing. I wish there were designated bike paths through the area to promote use of bikes on campus while not forcing bikes to go around such a large green space.

I stop here at night to think about life.. or before work to start my morning right. it's very quiet and the lights reflecting on the water is relaxing to look at when it's dark. Sometimes iI get stressed out and this is a go to place set right on the river. Also if you enjoy walking, jogging or stretching, this is a great spot.

Great place to walk, get some fresh air, contemplate life’s dilemmas, and become inspired… I used to play on the oval as a little kid growing up in the Clintonville area, accompanying my older siblings while they attended school here…To read: "I also remember seeing the Ohio National Guard tanks rolling down High Street, and the Ohio State Patrol and Ohio National Guard confronting students protesting expansion of the war in Southeast Asia in the Spring of 1970 Sometimes I walk these paths just to ponder and reminisce those nostalgic memories and wonder what could have been…

Park in the middle of Ohio state campus. Open space… um trees five of them given a plaque and called the give brothers. Ok here’s the story about that. A long time ago someone planted give trees gave them a plaque on a rock and called them the “five brothers”… fascinating. There is some great architecture and the little museum in the geology building is worth a quick stop in.

The oval is a large park space in the middle of Ohio State. It's essentially just a flat, grassy area with trees around. It's not useful if you want a playground or anything, but for sports, activities, events, or anything like that it's really nice.

Graduated in 1966. Really different place except for the oval. We’d walk across the oval back to dorms after class.

I've been to circles and squares before but this strange oblong circle is a feat of engineering genius. Who else could build this strange stretched circle? Is it a large 0 or an O? It is a question that will inspire people of all ages. Also this is a decent place to play PokeMon Go and you can hide in the shade of the trees.

Nice walk along the river on a road, next to McMansions that are too close together. Lots of locals walking their dogs. No rowing because of coronavirus.

There are plenty of good trails to hike along, though most of them are not "official"--just paths cut through undergrowth near the river by many visitors. There are great views of the river, with lots of wildlife, especially birds. In the fall, the colors on the trees here are fantastic. More than enough parking, unless you visit on a nice weekend in the fall. Also in the fall, on weekends, some of the local high schools have crew races, and that can congest the area.

Went for some paddle boarding in the no wake zone only. Cloudy and cool evening so not much water traffic. Nice wide river. Enjoyed watching OSU skullers practice. Very busy on sunny warm weekends. Not fun for paddle board then.

Great place to fish and walk, real community feeling here. Safe and welcoming. Only porta-potties if you need to use the restroom and there are multiple picnic areas. You can drive all the way through from the south to the north end but a lot of people walk so be careful if you do and drive slowly. Also there is a ton of wildlife here. Please be mindful and don't move the snails, or any wildlife out of their natural habitat. You can usually watch the rowing teams in the morning which is really cool too. Enjoy your time here!

Nice to walk along the river and see the Griggs dam. The river banks across the way look taller than expected for Columbus. Areas by the disc golf course are also very scenic. Start by the Fishinger road bridge, walk to the disc golf lot and back and you have a decent length walk.
