We love Village Coney! We come all the time for a great lunch. The prices are great, the staff is incredibly friendly and everything tastes delicious. The Coney sauce is super flavorful, the tots & onion rings are a must! I finally tried the fried bologna sandwich and it reminded me of the ones my dad made me as a kid, soooo good! Great place all around to drop by for lunch, worth the wait in line if you come during the lunch hour on the weekdays!

Close to where I had to make a top during work hours. Small inside maybe seats 10-12 but they also have steel umbrella tables on the sidewalk. I only had chili and fries. The chili was good, big chunks of beef, tomato, and celery all seasoned to my liking. The fries were DELICIOUS! I'm guessing they were fried in old heavy oil. They were good and crunchy outside, yummy greasy inside, and HOT. Three guys behind the counter, they were busy as expected as it was lunchtime. Atmosphere is dark and dirty, it would've helped if the guy behind the counter would've said "Hello" or "Good Morning" or similar greeting. I stood at the counter for a minute or so (I could see they were all busy), then without looking at me he said "Ready when you are". I ordered a small chili and small order of fries. He said "$7.50" (no "please"). I gave him the money. No "Thank you, it'll just be a minute" or anything along those lines. About a minute later, I was still standing at the counter, I didn't know if I should take a seat and wait or not. I'm sure he could see by my uniform that I was not local and I'm sure they know all their regular customers. I felt awkward just standing there, not sure what to do. Next I heard him say "small chili, and fries" he handed my my bag and off I walked, still without any acknowledgement of my business. It could be a nice little place but needs some sprucing up and decent lighting.

Good taste and a great price. Their customer service is a little lacking. It doesn’t feel like they have time for you to ask a simple question. I go back because you can’t beat the price.

Food was great and hot workers/owners weren't very friendly. They seemed like they really didn't want to be there. The music was very loud music. I think they are trying to discourage their customers from dining in. We were going to take the food home but decided to just eat there to just see what the atmosphere was about.

The Village Coney jumbo dog was one of the best I've had. This all-beef dog was layered with mustard, onions and chili sauce. I added cheese for the win. Great tots and rings, too. The place is small but has outdoor tables in the warmer weather. I'll be going back.

Every order is cooked on the spot so it’s always hot and fresh. The owners serve you so it’s always fast and efficient. Every meal comes with an oatmeal pie Debbie. I tried several things here been here tons of times The food is always good. My only I don’t like is The same two workers are there every time and they never talk to you or even look you in the face. I almost feel like they just don’t like customers!!!

We live just down the street, it’s our go to weekend treat! Always super friendly and playing good music/movies, today Alien was on while I waited for my favorite coney and tots in Columbus

DO NOT pass this place up!! A wonderful "hole in the wall" restaurant that makes an excellent chili-cheeseburger. Stop by at least.. 40 times.

Last time I was in there I ordered a Cleveland which is a sausage with Fry's slaw and BBQ sauce. Well I got a hot dog with fries slaw and barbecue sauce, when I went up and asked he simply replied "We're out of sausage so we gave you a hot dog instead. Apparently they have no problem charging you $4 for a sausage dog and slipping you a beef frank w/o telling you then refuse to refund the difference when u catch it

I give this place three stars because of the following reasons. 1. Hate to say it music was to loud so when I first placed my order the fella couldn't hear me properly and had my order wrong so I told him again no mustard I had to shout and he got a little short and snippy the rest of the time figuring I was being rude. No biggie, just turn the music down so people don't have to yell. 2. Hot dog bun was soggy, yes I know they are steamed and loved steamed buns but these were just soggy, hot dog was cold, could be because of lunch just ending, and the chili was burnt, again bottom of the bin I nthe hot table, I know how that goes. 3. Weird choice of French fries to serve. They are the seasoned rally type fries, and although good, they clash with the hotdog itself. But I did go back in for a third dog after my first 2 because I was still hungry and much better experience, guy had called down and all of number 2 had been fixed including a fresh pot of sauce which tasted way better. I travel into that area often and different times of the day and week so I will try it again to give it another days chance. So I recommend stopping if I nthe neighborhood? Yes it is worth the stop and prices are right on for what your getting, especially in Columbus.

Visiting a relative in the hospital, Village Coney was very close!! I had the chance to talk with the Dad and Son on my first visit just after a big lunch rush. Great family story. It reminds me of the old coney shops that used to be around the city. Quick service and good atmosphere at a good price. The menu offers more than I expected. I had and liked the Chicago Dog. Next time I'm going to try the gyro!

I absolutely love love the food I have been there 2 times since I was turned on to this place, last month. There's nothing on the menu that isn't so good you have a mouth-gasm. Go take $10 and go, best 10 lunch you will ever have

Best find of the year! Loved the vibe! Items were great and cheap! I got three different coneys and a gyro. Came with a oatmeal cream pie which was a welcome surprise to end our meal!

Atmosphere is hole in the wall but super worth going in and seeing what movie they have playing for their customers while they eat their delicious street food style burgers and chili dogs 😎

Village Coney *often* closes earlier than their posted schedule - which is already slim/lunch only. I was turned away twice this week after arriving during their *posted* open hours. I'm talking 45 minutes before their listed closing time - not like 5 minutes before close. I live 15 minutes away too - so that's an hour of time wasted this week alone and I cannot be the only one. All that said, the food is fantastic. I just wish I could actually eat some of it...

I tried their Pittsburgh salad yesterday. The meat was ok but overall the salad was meh. The workers/owners weren't very friendly. They seemed like they really didn't want to be there. The ambiance of the place was terrible. Uncomfortable seating, loud music. I think they are trying to discourage their customers from dining in. We were going to dine in but then decided to just eat at home. I can't see going back.

Now this place. Mmmmmmmm. It doesn't matter what you get everything is delicious and made with LOVE. The atmosphere and service is always amazing. You get personal attention all the time. The prices are awesome and I love the daily specials. My favorite is the Wednesday special because the bean soup is DELICIOUS 😋🤤😋🤤

I find the food rather bland. Service is OK. Not very friendly. Almost like they don't want to be there. I like the menu and they are quick. The various pictures on the wall are cool. Cost is relatively inexpensive

Neighborly little shop. The food is good, the place is relatively clean although a little dark, the price is reasonable and the service is fair.

Some of the best Coney dogs that I've had. The slaw dogs are EXCELLENT. And don't get me started on those onion rings. Oof. And tater tots? Yup. If you don't love a place with slaw dogs and tater tots, you must've had a terrible childhood, and I feel bad for you. Best part? Less than ten minutes from my shop. Awe, yeahhhhhh. 🤘🏻😁🤘🏻

If you know, you know! Village Coney is an institution, you come here for comfort, for a bygone time. Simple and fast, don't miss the fried bologna sandwich special! Plus you get a Little Debbie oatmeal something that you don't think you want but then you can't believe how good it is after you've stuffed your entire face with deliciousness.

  • 4/5 Marie r. 1 year ago on Google
They have a wide variety of items, more than just Coney dogs!!. Everday specials! And one of best parts-- they throw in an oatmeal cream pie!! Only negative is that it is kinda small. However, They do have outdoor seating. Will return!

This is my absolute favorite hole in the wall joint. If you want a coney dog or fried bologna sandwich, this is the place! And........ YOU GET AN OATMEAL CREAM PIE W/ EVERY ORDER!!! The only downfall in lack of seating.

This place is amazing. The service is good. My favorite part is the coneys, they have the best coneys in town. The Chicago dogs are another thing I would recommend my bubbie loves it and she’s from Chicago. I would recommend this place to all my friends

The coney special was good. I prefer a bit more onion, but for the first time going, I would recommend. The sauce was tasty, need a bit more cheese as well. The fries were very good. A nice surprise was the Little Debbie oatmeal cream pie thrown in for dessert. That has never happened to me before fe a restaurant. Kinda shows the love they put into it. My own wife doesn't do that. It was a bit expensive over $12 for 3 coneys with fries and a can of cold pop. But I would go again.

You have to go during their special hours because they’re not open all day! But totally worth it! I could easily eat four of their classic dogs!

I was looking for a new dive for a quick bite after work. The staff was super friendly and I was in-and-out in about 5 minutes. The food was hot and super tasty. The oatmeal cream pie included for dessert was a nice and nostalgic touch. It was exactly what I was craving and really hit the spot! ❤️

Village Coney is a great neighborhood restaurant. I had the chance to meet one of the owners, Brad, learned about their family run business of just over 20 years. For lunch I enjoyed the bologna sandwich with onions, and mustard absolutely fantastic on their dog friendly patio. Stop in for a bite!!!
