I was hospitalized four days with COVID, in an isolation room on the sixth floor. The air conditioning did not work in this room. This was seemingly known to all staff, who would frequently comment that I was in the hottest room. The first couple days weren’t too hot. The day before Memorial Day, the heat was really picking up. They told me they didn’t have any fans. My dad brought me a fan. By Monday, Memorial Day, it was over 90 degrees in the room. The thermostat maxed out at 90 around 8 AM but the high that day was in the 90s outside. I estimate my room was around 100 degrees. They wouldn’t open the door due to it being a COVID room. They offered no solutions. No fan, no help. They told me they had put in a work order. I asked them to move the guest cot into the bathroom, which was a few degrees cooler (less direct sunlight) and I had to stay in there. I was appalled, hot and frustrated. My parents work for OhioHealth, at a different hospital, and were shocked that this went on as it did and the hospital did nothing (was never offered to switch rooms, never offered a fan). We did call the patient experience line and will be filing a written complaint with the health department.

Good healthcare… but the actual Architecture and interior spaces are dated, dirty and Un-inviting. After ushering my mother through surgery at riverside hospital and then another surgery at grant, I believe Grant can learn from the care and spaces provided at riverside. A good hospital should care for the family as well as the patient. You need an interior update Grant medical, and more eloquent care for family’s in waiting areas.

This hospital made the worst day of our family's life even more miserable when our grandson recently passed away. The staff was so rude and uncaring and gave us conflicting rules as to where we could be, not even allowing us inside on a cold day. Of the group, 4 were senior citizens, 3 with diabetes, 1 recently with a TIA and 1 a cancer survivor, ALL made to stand outside on a cold day, all in the name of covid. One of staff even laughed out loud when she saw us and asked if we were having a party, while she was dressed in a witches costume. I would not take my worst enemy there.

Thursday August 11 was an emotional day for my 31 year old daughter. Passionate because she always wanted to have a baby but because of a medical condition she was at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center for a Hysterectomy. She had an option to have this procedure performed at Knox Community Hospital but she chose OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. Why? She was told the operation would be minimally invasive, two or three small incisions in the abdomen, speedy recovery time, and she would have exceptional care. Therefore OhioHealth Grant Medical Center was the best choice. The medical team displayed the constitution of an underpaid fast food employee, no natural affection and no sense of urgency. My daughter woke up from recovery in horrible pain, she asked the nurse for medication to help deal with the pain, she was ignored. The nurse was seven feet away, hearing my daughter crying, gripping her mother’s hand like a vise, and refused to give her the medicine. Unacceptable! When my daughter was taken to her room from Recovery, the nurse did not help her from the gurney to her bed. She stated the male nurse just tossed the blanket and sheets on the bed and walked out. She had to fight her way off the gurney, get into her own bed, and spread bed sheets. Deplorable! My daughter had to fast 8 - 12 hours before the surgery. After the surgery she was not given IV fluids to help maintain and restore her electrolytes as well as to prevent dehydration. Appalling! Here is three events out of the ten shocking events my daughter had to experience at the hands of the deplorable and embarrassingly incompetent medical staff’s. Thursday August 11 was an emotional day for my 31 year old daughter. Despite the setback of her not being able to have a baby, we knew her health would improve after the operation, and we had full confidence that OhioHealth Grant Medical Center would help soothe the already bittersweet moment. Unfortunately that did not happen. I was unpleasantly disappointed with OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. Undoubtedly, if you need medical treatment, please explore other medical facilities for treatment. Calling Customer Experience is a waste of time because the damage has been done.

My brother is 57 years old and bed fast with Multiple Sclerosis. I took him to Grant medical because he was having a heart attack. We were in Ohio so he could see a stem cell doc who worked with Grant and another hospital. He was there over a month because Shehadi couldn't be contacted for the stem cells after telling us he would do it immediately. The care my brother received on the sixth floor was unacceptable, and I would have filed a complaint then. He asked me not to do that. I would be told that a nurse would call me back and on more than one occasion I did not get the call back. I would call 3 or 4 times a day for an update. I live 4 1/2 hours from Columbus so I couldn't visit often. Then someone in the hospital gave him COVID. He was diagnosed last Thursday and sent to the COVID floor. He never received a bath, or even a sponge bath. He asked a nurse for a second pillow because he can't move his arms to rearrange his pillow. Of course they couldn't give him another pillow. From Thursday until today, Monday, he received nothing in the way of personal hygiene. His hair was dirty, he hadn't been shaved or his gown changed in days. I visited him numerous times since Thursday and only today did an aide come to turn him on his side. He was supposed to be turned every two hours, didn't happen. On Thursday, before the COVID diagnosis I was told the Salem Center in WV would accept him Friday. It's a nursing home. So we were set to take him today. The Salem Center needed more paperwork, even though the social worker at Grant said Thursday they had all that was needed. The doctor at Grant, some jerk from Charleston, WV assured me that my brother was not being discharged AMA and they would assist putting him in my vehicle. He lied. My niece and her friend had to put him in my car. He cannot do a thing for himself. The idiots didn't even put a diaper on him. Grant Medical Center is the worst facility I have ever been in, and with my brother's MS and heart attacks, I've been in quiet a few. I wouldn't put ANYONE there. They are liars and too lazy to do their jobs, meaning the doctor, nurses, and aides.

My brother was life flighted to Grant Hospital ICU and I have to comment on how well they took care of my brother. He was blind and deaf which can have challenges. They all treated him as though he was their family member. They were also so kind toward us. They would ask us if we needed anything and would always answer our questions. When it came time to take him off the ventilator they were so compassionate. The Chaplin talked to us and listened to stories we told about him. Every one of the nurses was fabulous and I could never thank them enough. No one ever wants to lose a loved one but they softened the blow.

Took hubby to a stand alone hospital and he need emergency surgery, we were given two hospital options to be transferred to, due to being from a different state and not knowing much about the good or bad hospitals we selected grant.. BIGGEST mistake... The staff was GHETTO to say the least.. We heard different stories from different people regarding his condition.. This place is horrible.. I’ve never left a review for anything but I hope to say someone from the extra stress of visiting this hospital. Waited almost 45 minutes to an 1 hour before we could get a nurse in the room. The machines would beep for hours before anyone would come address the empty IV BAGS...Oh don’t request a charge nurse, we waited 2 hours to see a charge nurse..From the nurse to the resident doctors to the PSA to the people who take your food order everyone needs training in manners...The only pleasant/helpful people we encounter was the doctor whom perform the surgery and the Darren cleaning crew. I mean Worst hospital experience Ever. We have great insurance not that this should have made a difference, but I thought to myself if we’re treated like this Lord help the people who don’t have insurance. You have people’s lives in your hand get it together Grant!

The ER at grant is a joke. No care given, nurses were nasty and rude. They let you rot in the waiting room for 12 hours and then give you attitude when you ask for basic medical care. Plus they removed my IV port with no gloves. If you have the option to choose where you have a medical emergency for the love of god go somewhere else.

On 8/21 I went to the ER for abdominal pain Nurse Elisha C was not pleasant she displayed zero empathy with comment “There’s nothing we can do for you” Which triggered me and I started yelling. No matter how many times a patient comes in you are to provide excellent customer service. She was at the front desk she not even a Dr talking to me like that. A hospital is a place for care she clearly doesn’t understand. She could say I am sorry your not feeling well hope you get better soon. On a positive note the woman that gave me my I.V was very nice and seemed concerned I apologize to her for not remembering her name.

Came in by squad a couple nights ago, and while the EMS worker was explaining my situation to the nurses they started laughing about it and argued over “who got me”. My door was open the whole time so I could over hear their conversations. The nurse came in twice, once to check me in and once to check me out. The doctor was nice, but that’s the only good thing I could say about the experience I had here. The staff made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in a very scary situation.

My wife gave a birth there, first two days 19 and 20 of June was super nice, we met great people, doctors and nurses, on June 21 suite 406 one of the nurses was very rude to my wife, she was trying to kick her out from the room and she said to her that she is no longer on the system and she should leave immediately, can you imagine that your wife just came from the 3rd floor after a long morning with doctors and nurses to here room at the 4th floor and just starting having her lunch and someone next to you asking you to leave immediately and checking to you every other minute?? Plus my wife and I didn’t get any notice that she should leave that day in certain time!! Our day was super cool until we met this rude nurse and turned it very bad.

They have a sign that says all visitors and patient must respect nursing staff. However they should add ALL staff must show respect towards patients and vistors as well. There were maybe 3 nurses during a months stay in CCU that was always respectful towards the patient and myself. The only staff that that was always pleasant and respectful was the front desk, CCU receptionist, and housekeepers. Most nurses and doctors lack bedside manners. Barely introducd themselves when they walked in or better yet didn't even acknowledge you, and hardly EVER stated what the plan was before they started poking and prying. They come over the intercom with a NON VERBAL patient talking about what do you want all frustrated and rude. Take more than an hour to assist you at that. Did you not read your chart that the patient is nonverbal?? I suppose not, guess it's due to lack of communication between staff. None the less I work hard so I do not have to ever have to come to a place like this for help that lacks respect and compassion. For some it's just a job.

Took my brother in the ER for a severe panic attack and anxiety from not having the right dose of medicine. I waited in the waiting room for 5 hours and they still would not let me see him but let our grandma walk right in. Now they wanna keep him for two weeks even tho the meds they gave him are working and he is stable and will see his actual dr when he gets out to make sure his meds are what’s right for him. The law states 72 hour involuntary hold for evaluation unless they pose a risk of harm and even then after 72 hours they need a court order. It’s been 48 and now they want to send him to a mental hospital for long term care with no medical reason to. After 72 hours I plan on getting a lawyer and the police. This is wrong and will sue if not released ASAP. Grant sucks and should be closed. Not the first incident with the hospital.

On February 19th I was life flighted to Grant medical center after a bad accident . For a part of a time I had a roommate one of the days she cried for a few hours needing a nurse who did not come until my husband went in the hallway hearing them laughing and caring on and yelled and told them to get into the room and help her. One of the days when the night nurse came into the room at shift change and I did not see her again for hours I paged her at least four times and the guy just kept saying I will page her after a while I just cried and I think I ended up passing out from pain. Once you finally came in she said sorry my pager wasn't working. When I left a Grant medical center a week later to go to a rehab facility my hair was still full of glass and blood in my bladder was completely descended I had to have a catheter placed in for almost a week. I'm very thankful for all grant did to help me. The surgeons were great and the doctors were awesome. But the patient care could use a little work.

The worst experience ever. My 84-year old grandmother was admitted here due to a back injury, and the nurses/staff treated her horrendously. The staff told my aunt that my grandmother was refusing to take her pain medication/water, when she was BEGGING for water throughout the entire day, and the EXTREMELY RUDE doctor had told her that she couldn’t have water due to the fact that she may have surgery. When she told him “my throat is dry, I haven’t had anything to drink all day”, his response was: “I am just trying to save your life here”, and walked out. She requested food 3 different times and was told it would be on the way, and never came. Once the food finally arrived the NEXT MORNING, the pancakes were extremely hard and cold. Grant Medical Center is the worst hospital facility to visit. They treat their patients like bugs. Definitely do not recommend this place to ANYONE who is seeking CARE in any form!

The trauma team saved our daughter's life in CCU. They rocked. Floors 5 and 7 just about killed her. I was her nurse for 3 weeks in step down, except for delivering medications. The traveling nurses were awesome. The nurses hired directly by Grant, other than the CCU nurses, were the worst ever. My God...if my daughter's journey wasn't enough...the most negligent care ever on floors 5 and 7. And I did not appreciate bickering between nursing staff and the unit clerk on 7, which was constant. Zero diplomacy and professionalism.

This hospital traumatized me (literally)! I was really sick and suffering. They treated me awfully. The nurse cursed at me and the cop was just as disrespectful when I asked did he hear her. I will never ever go here! If I'm dying, this is my last resort then just make funeral arrangements. I don't recommend anyone to go to this dump!

Worst experience in my life. I chose the bone and joint department to do a knee replacement by Dr Bartley. Is only my second day in recovery appears to be healing good, however the staff and nurse Pam is just unspeakably unprofessional in every aspect you could possibly imagine. Literally imagine it and thats what you get in THIS department. Bad life decision for me!! I've been home for 3 weeks now and would you believe someone stole my pants.....I wear a size 32-34 waist. These clearly say 20. My family is in Columbus Law Enforcement Im definitely filing a report. I just had to share this OMG!!!!

I sat all-night in their ER in pain and quietly weeping. A nurse misdiagnosed a broken ankle and had me walking on it to get back and forth to the bathroom. My ankle was broken in 3 places. It was operated on, but a year later it has never healed right. After the surgery, a nurse asked if I needed something to drink, while she was standing over me drinking. I said yes, but she just rudely rushed me out. I vomited 3 times before I got to car. I believe I was treated like this because I'm Black. If I am dying, I'll take my chances and go anywhere else. A bunch of hateful white women work here.

Staff is rude. They let my daughter sit in the hospital and not even help her. IV fell out of her arm and she is having gallbladder surgery as we speak. This hospital needs new staff. You will take prisoner first before an actual patient. Lucky I wasn’t there you would not like me

I would select NO STARS if possible! My name is Shellaina Miller and I reside in Arcanum, Ohio. My father Charles Lee Fraker resided in Grove City, Ohio for over 20 years. My father died on March 5th 2020 after succumbing to cardiac arrest. Grant hospital pronounced him dead about 3:00 a.m. After the family and I witnessed his body, I asked the Chaplin to have the emergency support tube removed. I was assured that it would be removed and his body would be delicately cared for. Six days lapsed, as I called daily to have his body sent to the funeral home. Grant was communicating that his doctor needed to sign off on his death certificate. His doctor was communicating that nothing was being recieved. There Coroner's office was telling me it was up to the other two parties. Grant insisted that they couldn't release him without the doctor's signature. It wasn't until I contacted investigations before anything changed. Ohio Cremation was finally able to obtain him 8 days later. Upon meeting with Beth at Ohio Cremation I was devastated to learn that Grant hospital froze my father for six days with that tube! The repercussions of that has resulted in my inability to have proper funeral for him. The tube busted the blood vessels in my father's face distorting it. I was told that having a viewing could do more harm than good. The ability to make him look normal was not possible. I was crushed in the realization that I had to have him cremated with no viewing; no closure! I'm wrecked with grief over this! I believe this to be cruel, inhumane, and improper treatment of a corpse. Please offer me some guidance for justice in this matter!

My friend just went to Grant for an MRI to find out if her cancer has spread, and they refused to treat her because she was too large for the MRI machine. They didn't offer follow-ups or recommendations, or refer her to places in town (they DO EXIST) with larger capacity MRI machines, just told her to go home! HOW ARE OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE SUPPOSED TO TREAT THEIR CANCER IF HOSPITALS WON'T TREAT THEM. So... is she just supposed to die now? Grant certainly doesn't care. Thanks a lot!

Went in for bleeding and abdominal pain. Got in and triage at 6pm. Still in the waiting room at 11pm. This is the worst wait time ever. They have registered people and sent them back to the lobby. No one has been called back in over 3 hours. I'm pretty sure they guy next to me had a heart attack and is in the waiting room

A friend was transported to Grant Medical Center 4 days ago with COVID, pneumonia, and a variety of other critical conditions. A doctor called me from the ER to verify her care and end-of-life wishes. Since then, I've had three helpful and informative updates from her doctors and nurses. She is now stable, but very sick. I admire the transparent communication from the staff at Grant. I feel they care about my friend's individual issues and needs. Feeling this level of trust means a lot to me. Thank you!

If I coule give zero stars I would. How does a hospital have no parking? Literally zero places to park. I had an appointment here today and got here well enough in advance and could not find any parking, wasted 20 minutes going into a garage that was packed and no way to know it was full. Another 20 minutes circling for other means of parking and nothing. The main entrance had a line or cars and no way to know if there was a valet attendant or not which I dont like to use anyway. I ended up wasting nearly 3 hours of drive time and looking for parking and missed my appointment which I arrived in plenty of time if there was parking available. Then I come to find out I could have done my appointment virtually. That should have been offered from the beginning. Absolute waste of my time and horrendous planning of Dr offices without informing patients of these issues and offering other options.

Was treated very rudely by nurse when I was transferred from another hospital I made a statement that maybe I should have stayed home and died she said I should have. I left the hospital immediately after that I should have made a complaint with the supervisor because in my MyChart notes she conveniently left out every thing she said and added things I didn’t say. This will be my last vist to a Ohio health ran hospital

People who go to the hospital are often in the worst pain of their lives. Pain makes people angry and impatient. That’s human nature, but the staff at this facility are AMAZING and I have not encountered a single person who wasn’t prepared to help me with a smile on their face. The gentlemen who run the valet are FANTASTIC. They are extremely busy, yet their service runs smoothly and they are organized and efficient. They have always been kind to me and helpful, even though, to date, I have never had cash on hand to give them a tip. They are still quick to help and always patient and kind. I have seen several people being rude to them as they impatiently waited for their vehicles and never once did I see the valet attendants respond with anything less that complete professionalism and patience. I wish I could remember to take cash with me, as these men work in the harshest conditions to make our lives easier, yet rarely do they get the recognition that they deserve. In addition to the valet staff, the staff at the desk at the front entrance of the Bone and Joint Center, JANICE and ROBERT are beautiful human beings. They are knowledgeable about the entire facility. They are the first point of contact for everyone and they are always there with smiles and helpful attitudes. They assist patients with incredibly accurate directions to find the right place and keep in mind, they are directing patients to surgeries, follow up appointments, GP visits and every thing in between. They are the liaisons for our loved ones while we are in surgery, they are faces we see when we check in and out and they know where EVERYTHING is. They are both such delightful people…kind souls who do everything in their power to educate and assist. That hospital would fall into chaos without those two, yet again, I have witnessed people raise their voices at them and display combative behavior when asked to comply with hospital policy, yet they BOTH have always responded with kindness, patience and unmatched professionalism. I am currently there on a weekly basis after having undergone surgery, and Janice and Robert are my favorite part of my visits. If I can get myself organized, I would love to take them a little treat for being such kind and genuine people. Everyone in this building is working there because of a desire to help others and it shows.

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. I was admitted for a total of 12 hours for severe abdominal pain and possible apendicitis. Second shift staff was pleasant but third shift staff was all rude and extremely short with me, providing no consolation or answers. Nurses waited hours in between check-ins while my pain continued to get worse and provided nothing for the discomfort and pain. I had 2 CT scans and got totally different responses from the 2 different doctors. The closest thing I got to an answer was to follow up with another doctor in the following days. There was also dried blood on the floor in my room which did not looked like it had been cleaned and had a foul odor. Not to mention I was denied water for nearly 10 hours by the nursing staff for no clear reason. Unless you are on the verge of dying, the staff does not care about you and will treat you as if nothing is wrong and without a care in the world.

Had an MRI done yesterday morning.. still waiting on the results! I'm not understanding why they haven't been uploaded to My Chart, regardless if my doctor ordered the test or if a Grant doctor ordered the test! When I had my CT done for the same area at Wexner Medical Center in June, I had results uploaded to my chart within 3 hours of the test ending. This is crazy! How do I know if I have a stress fracture or not and to stay off my leg if results arent being given in a timely manner! Quality care and timely turn around has gone to hell at every hospital in Columbus 🙄

PLEASE READ!! 🤬 My mom is deaf & the staff is very disrespectful. Had a few good nurses but they would talk to her knowing she’s deaf. I asked a. PSA nurse to please talk to me but she ignored me & kept on talking to my mom. Had another nurse being hateful towards me. Shared my mom’s medical information with another family member when I asked them not to. I will be sure to let everyone know not to go here. STAFF HAS NO RESPECT DURING SLEEPING HOURS THEY YELL & LAUGH CONSTANTLY!! Every review gets a reply to call with your concerns it does no good because they don't care & don't do anything about it!!!!!! It's stressful being here! I'll never come back! This place is a circus not a hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place needs to be shut down ‼️

I originally gave the hospital one star but after thinking about it I realized if you put yourself in shoes at the hospital they have a pretty hard task in front of them. I need to remember that the hospital is not that large it's located in the inner city and it's got an overloaded emergency room. And I looked at the complaints most of the others have written in the last couple years and it seems to be a matter of expectations. This is not the hospital that you would see in suburbia it's an inner city hospital with a lot of additional issues other than being small and a pretty tough job in the emergency room. Overall I think it's better if you have time to go to one of the suburban hospitals but if you don't it's probably a pretty good choice I'm sure their trauma surgeon very good. But don't go there expecting Cadillac service and all that because they just can't do it they don't have the space for the staff or the situation that's going to make that happen for you. So I upgraded my review to three stars because under the circumstances that are pretty good for them. I do think they could improve the whole process by allowing visitors to go for one entrance and emergency room and other kind of separate the two and still not lose security if they have the metal detectors and security of two locations. And if that's already the case I think they need have to have a sign up that says patient visitors enter the front entrance and out of their entrance for the emergency room. We really need to find a way to get all these people without healthcare to be able to go somewhere other than their emergency room at Grant and that's what's happening and I bet. It's a conundrum in the country that's for sure! My kudos for the staff that have to deal with this god-awful situation down there it's got to be hard.

There's a lot to share about my partner's an my experience at Grant that is bad, but I'll start by stating that they can't even keep their info up-to-date about parking. Day 1, I parked in the Blue Garage, because it was near the surgery center we were admitted to. It was fine, no problems. Day 2, I tried to park in the Green garage and...wrong. THIS IS A STAFF ONLY GARAGE. At least that is what I found it to be when I tried to enter at 6:45 am. Infuriating experience yesterday trying to park in this garage. I pulled in and up to the entrance gate only to find no ticketing machine. So I was stuck in front of a gate that wouldn't raise. It was only when I got out of my car and walked back to a little scanner that I saw a tiny sign that said "staff only". No where on the large wayfinding garage signage does it say this, not on the gate, nor is it specified on Grant's website, which I referenced prior to my trip to understand parking availability. I had a single person behind me (thankfully it wasn't more), that I had to ask to backup because I couldn't access the garage and she yelled at me "Just use your I.D!!" I said, "I'm not STAFF! I'm a GUEST!". She reluctantly backed up so I could get out. When you're stressed, and worried about a sick loved one, this kind of thing is literally the last straw, especially when it is so easy to place large informational signage. Being yelled at by a random employee is unacceptable.

My family member was life flighted here last week and every single person we have come in contact with has been so kind and compassionate. From the ladies at the desk by the ED entrance, security and the nurses, nurse aides, physicians and the ladies at the ICU/CCU waiting room, we have encountered such great attitudes. As a nurse, I watch for these things, and I have been blown away.

My finger was cut last week, and I was very worried. I went to the ER. and the staff doctors and nurses were very friendly to me, helped me quickly and made me feel better about the cut. they told me its a common problem and the swelling would go down, I feel much better. thank you.

I would give this place zero reviews if I could. Do not go here they will judge you by your looks, weight, and medical reason on which you are there. They do not care about what’s going on with you unless you’re nodding in and out and obviously a dope fein. Honestly they need closed down or they need to have the corporate people come in unannounced and watch how they treat human beings !

The workers there were fantastic, the one Nurse her name was Cheryl in the heart unit went out of her way to make sure we got to all our appointments and made everything much easier to get things done. Grant Hospital is a great place to go to healing.

My family has gone to this hospital since my 1st child was born 14 years ago. After today's experience, we may never go back. Nurses had to repeatedly request for the dr to come. When Dr Graham FINALLY came, he stayed 60 seconds and rushed out...he never told the nurse to go ahead with the discharge. On-call GI dr couldn't be bothered to come in and do his job, so my husband suffered all night. A nurse tried to give my husband a PILL despite knowing that he was there for food obstruction. When he could finally eat today, his food took 90 minutes to arrive and was brought as he was being discharged. No communication. Definitely did not have the patient's best interest at heart. I don't know what happened to this hospital; I used to rave about it and recommend it to everyone. Juanita in recovery was awesome, though.

I want to thank Life flight, ER, ICU and most of the 6th floor at Grant Hospital for saving my life and the awesome care I received for over a month that I was there. There were a couple not so nice and caring nurses but as a whole great staff. I don't remember a lot from ICU but what I do remember, I want to give a shout out to Nurse Bruce in ICU. When I was delirious, I remember him being calm and caring and must say I felt safe because I was having all kinds of dilutions from the sepsis shock and couldn't tell where I was most of the time and what was real and what wasn't however I remember him and I felt safe. Heck! I barely remember my husband being there., but he was lol Thank you again Nurse Bruce!

I broke my leg on a road trip, and I waited seven days to get back to the hospital but I had to go through emergency because I just moved here when I say every single person that I encounter was helpful polite compassionate made me and my son feel extremely comfortable I was so nervous. I had such high anxiety and I was trying to be strong for my son who’s about to turn 18 and this is the first time I’ve ever been hurt in his life everyone there was so amazing even though they were super busy. I had tons of stuff going on . I really appreciate them and this whole experience.

Here with my sister in room 824. Her medicines were due at 1245pm and its 135pm still no meds. We talked with the person on call button who just says okay. She called me from her room lastnight because nobody would help her so I called the 8th floor desk to get somebody there. This is terrible service especially when she was in the ICU for 4 days

I was transferred here after going through a major car wreck, broken spine, broken clavicle, large cut on my head, busted up in a lot of ways. All my nurses were kind and helpful, but especially Cami, she went way above and beyond washing all the blood out of my hair so i could at least regain a little of my dignity. It was quite a job and she did it cheerfully, I really appreciated that kindness in the midst of a hard and painful situation. Thank you.

I have visited a few hospitals in my time. I think Grant gets a bad reputation simply because of its location in downtown Columbus. I was there in Nov. 2018 for a life-threatening infection and the nurses and doctors did a pretty good job helping me recover. My biggest complaint was a bit of food limitation and occasional slow care. However, they did a lot better at getting me the care I needed that other hospitals did for my father. For that and the good care many nurses gave me, I think they did a very good job helping me recover from life-saving surgery.

Just gave birth here and had an absolutely amazing experience. The staff is very caring and goes above and beyond to make sure your needs are met and you're comfortable. They're there to answer all your questions and nothing is too much. They made me very comfortable during my stay and made me feel heard. I would not trade this experience for anything else. This hospital was truly amazing the incredible staff deserve more recognition. Especially the med students.

The nurses and the stna and housekeeping was excellent. But there was one major problem. The day of my surgery, December 14th last week I didn't see my surgeon Dr. Fada before or after my surgery. That's not like him. He handed over my case to Samantha Christian CNP.. And she kicked me out of the hospital the next day. While my knee was still draining, I wasn't even there 24 hours. I heard her yelling at the nurses who were taking care of me. What I and what they needed to do to get me out of there. On December 16th. I bled from 11:50 am to 9:20 pm. My last visit with Dr. Fada my fiancee and I were arguing in the examination room. I guess Dr. Fada didn't like it. So he put Samantha in charge, to get me out of there. So he wouldn't have to come and see me.i been with Dr. Fada since 2017. Never was kicked out the next day. When I came home. On December 15 th 2 days, later. i started bleeding profusely. From 11 am to 9:20 pm. I wrote a letter on my chart to the staff. They called me and said yes we knew you would experience some drainage. SOME? COME ON LADY. Everything around me looked like a crime scene. That has never happened to me. And I have had altogether 4 knee surgeries with Dr. Fada. I was very hurt when I didn't see him at all. By them kicking me out early. I've been bleeding profusely. Now again Dec 23rd 2020. I started bleeding again. It started at 3pm today. Its 12:25 am. now. And its finally slowing down. My fiancee and I tried to stop it, many of times. But just couldn't. It just kept gushing out

. My partner was transferred there for voluntary inpatient help. They were sent there from the first location via ambulance, I was unable to ride with them due to Covid guidelines. I drove there, had to park across a main road downtown with no security around or in sight. The front desk had no clue what was going on and was writing the information on a scrap of paper, with so many misspellings and mistakes I considered formally writing the information myself if I wasn’t concerned I would contact some ailments by touching anything in that lobby. I repeatedly explained I have hearing issues and couldn’t hear or understand her. She just repeated even quieter and muffled. Grant had no mental health services according to the person at the desk as well, letting me know we would then be transferred a third time to another facility. The first place we went to assured over and over again I would be with them every step of the way until all was settled, so I was expecting to actually go back and be with them. I was told they had to confirm my identity with the nurse (but didn’t ask for my ID or even the correct spelling of my name?) I was told to sit in the lobby and wait. The seats had stains and trash in them, a man was asleep in the lobby and I heard security make rude comments at the man. Eventually, the woman at the front desk sighed dramatically and informed security she “had to take this young girl” back. I was taken back to see them and walking through the halls was like something from a horror movie. Trash all over the floors, mysterious stains and liquids all over the walls and floors. Considering it was a few days post Halloween I actually thought at first it was decor it was that horrible. Many lights out and flickering and bugs EVERYWHERE. We got lost, twice, the escort admitting she wasn’t entirely sure where she was going, and actually most staff didn’t either. When we arrive to the room area it looked as if a major tragedy had just happened. People in gurneys just in the hall, blood on materials I almost bumped into with how over crowed the hallways were. A woman who looked to be in shock being made fun of by staff for being confused. I saw my partner still just in the hallway, completely discarded to the side, the escort walked right by them and when I tried to stop they didn’t listen, they even grabbed my wrist and turning it in painful angles (I have and bone and joint disorder) to look at my visitor band. When she saw their empty room I got a chance to tell her my partner was right there. I went to see them and before I could say a word I was rushed back out. I was told to wait back in the lobby while they actually get them set up, it was a mistake in the system. I waited around another hour, a nurse informed security some cameras were just out?! With no one providing security!?! While waiting a staff member came out and attempted to awake the sleeping man, at one point grabbing their discharge papers and announcing their name and information to the lobby. I was shocked by how unprofessional that was handled. I was taken from the lobby from my previous escort and told my partner could have no visitors, no calls, and they could not provide any further information. They apologized for the “mix up” and sent me on my way. When I asked what Mental health facility they would be going to I was told I didn’t have access to any information, even though my partner confirmed all information be provided to me as I handled all medical information and visits and I was their emergency contact. Lastly, three months prior my step father had passed from Covid and was taken to Grant to be “saved” but still passed. The EMT originally had no concern because after my mother informed them my step father only had one kidney the EMT proudly stated “uh yeah, everyone only has one kidney” WHAT!? It took a month for us to be able to get the funeral prepared due to the incompetence of the staff. My step father was in a freezer for a month in those disgusting hallways and after this visit that will always haunt me.

Everything was great from the ER,X-ray, catscan, transportation, to trauma unit. The one thing that was disappointing was I got cleaned. Up in the trauma unit and in my bed and then I am told tha I need a full body cat scan and I had to go back down to catscan and they put me on a hard back board to move me to to car scan machine, that HURT LIKE HELL! I had walked to X-ray and walked to catscan the first time. The doctors were very good, the nurses were great, the aids, PT, OT, PA, PSA were Great! Some of the staff were extraordinary! The cleaning staff was great! Everybody seemed to care. Thank you Grat Medical Center!

So within the last month I have applied for 2 positions at ohio health. so around last month I missed a call from a manger she left a voicemail i immediately called back left her a voicemail the same day inquiring about position and yes I was still interested strangely never received a follow up call. About a week letter I get a email saying thank you for your time but my qualifications don’t exceed . which is strange due to the fact I’ve work in hr and I know before they call to set a interview most likely they have briefly looked over your credentials??. Second time was the first on this month a manger from a department I applied for emailed asking best date / time to set up phone interview once I became free at work I emailed back my availability it’s now the 12th of June still no follow up email from the manager. This is very unprofessional . Hopefully this is not a ok process within ohio health. especially for someone who have been out of work and trying to regain employment especially since Covid. im not sure why employers do this to people just sad. And so very unprofessional you guys should know and do better

I had a really great experience here while visiting downtown Columbus from out of state. We were walking our dog, and long story short, I tripped and my face hit the pavement. My upper lip was split and my face was scratched up. I was brought in by a couple of paramedics who were very kind and patient with me (I have high anxiety so I was scared and crying a lot). They got me into a room quickly, where all the staff in the hospital were just as amazing. Audrey did my stitches, she was really great and made me feel comfortable. I wish I could remember the rest of the people who helped me too, everyone was so kind. They made this tough time a lot easier for me. Thank you!!

I came in due to severe insomnia and was treated poorly. Sent to the medical hold without explanation. Was treated terrible in that part of the hospital. They kept saying it sounded like I was bipolar when I told them something was physically wrong. Sure enough, it was found that I could have died from benzo withdrawal but they only focused on my mental health and I felt neglected and uncared for. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone seeking certain treatment or help

In the hospital they keep everything clean and when a child is inpatient, the staff makes sure to keep their hands sanitized as they go in the patient's room and as they walk out. This is really good, and it helps minimize viruses and the flu and much more.

My daughter was born at Grant in September 2022 and we had an excellent overall experience. My OB is in private practice and has privileges to deliver at three different hospital throughout Columbus. He is the chief at Grant and works there the most so we chose this location although we were not familiar with many (anyone) that had delivered here. I had a scheduled c section first thing in the morning. From arrival time to baby in arms was only 2 1/2 hours. Everything went smoothly and the nurses, docs, techs and cleaners were amazing. The nurses we had in the post partum unit specifically were amazing and really encouraging when I expressed I wanted to be home as soon as possible. They helped set expectations of what I needed to achieve in order to be home in 2 days. Honestly, even the food was pretty good. Absolutely zero complaints. After returning home, I thought I needed to write this as I’ve heard so much about friends/colleagues deliveries at the other major Columbus hospitals but had no idea about Grant.

They do not have their rules together for everyone at the hospital for this covid BS. You can only have one person visit per day and they cannot be changed for any reason but security says that someone else can go up and sit to replace the person that went home. Someone in a coma needs someone sitting with them at all times because things get missed at grant

My experience with Grant was overall amazing. I had just about given up on all medical staff and facilities, due to very negative experiences at various other places. But from the time I entered the ED (emergency dept), all the way through my stay on the 8th floor, I have been very impressed. The staff in the ED were great - caring, showing compassion, empathy, listening to me when other places had stopped, in spite of labs showing them the same thing Grant saw. They got me into Triage almost immediately and began various necessary testing and labs, and everyone treated me so kindly, in each place I was taken - including the transport staff! I only had to wait about one hour or a bit more before actually getting into a room in the ED, and as I said, all staff there were top-rate! Dr. Schneider was so caring and empathetic and actually did something about all of my problems, contrary to what other in the past have been doing. He assured me that they (Grant) would get to the bottom of this and that I would be staying overnight to be seen by their specialists and anyone else necessary. What a relief, after months of getting nowhere at other places! 8th floor staff have been fab my 5 days here. My absolute fave nurse is Debra, and they have many attentive and wonderful PSA's (techs, as many others would call them). I love working with Rami and Breyonna (Bree), especially. The only 2 criticisms of my stay here would be to note that it's difficult to get staff to respond in a timely manner when I ring the "call button," but I think this is partly due to not enough staff on the floor, per patient needs. (This is a specialty medicine floor, so patients here have needs of varying kinds, some requiring staff to stay with a patient for a long time, and then "no one" is available for someone who is bedridden who has to get meds at a certain time or go to the bathroom, etc) My other criticism of note is that while here, we have never received our meals at a regular time, and they were many days I had to call my meal choice down, as opposed to the cafeteria staff coming up at set times to take our choices, as they are to do. Again, this may just be a staffing issue. I just know it leads to frustration for some when meals don't come when scheduled and are cold or melted, and staff on floor are then needed to be pulled away from their regular duties to try to heat, freeze, and then re-serve patients. But all in all everything about my stay has been pleasant and very encouraging. They seem to have figured out my problem, so that's a huge plus, right there, in my eyes! (Especially since all others I'd been seeing hadn't!) Thank you so much, Grant Medical Center!

I was brought to OhioHealth Grant Hospital by ambulance due to an accident. At first, I was checked in professionally and given Motrin. Things went down hill from there. My vitals were taken , then x-rays taken in the room, and it was so unprofessional. Then, after giving g me paperwork, nooner came in the room for two hours to check on me. I pressed the button for assistance to the bath room twice, and no one came. I ended up limping my way to the bathroom myself. I finally got discharge papers and no pain meds, I was to take Advil. I asked why no one ga be me pain meds for relief etf and was told unless I had a fracture or cancer they don’t prescribe you pain medication stronger than Advil! This is the worst hospital in Ohio. I ve been three times by ambulance, and each time it’s terrible and unprofessional ! Don’t go there! I walked myself out to the exit lobby, I wasn’t even offered a wheel! I had bleeding scrapes an d no one cleaned them or even cared! There was not enough help and my treatment was sad and unprofessional! I couldn’t wait to leave the emergency room, and will NEVER go back! They don’t even deserve a one star rating!

It deserves negative stars. I was transferred to grant as an emergency case for immediate surgery from Ohio health refugee road and these people abandoned me in the reservation for almost 24hours just sitting, no pain medication, nothing and I was dying in pain. All they kept doing was to get useless vitals the whole time. When I saw that I couldn’t resist anymore, I personally had to transport myself to Mt. Carmel hospital and the very moment I walked into it, they started with my surgery because any day wasted would have costed me amputation. Grant is not a medical facility, it is concentration camp, no wonder they have more security than nurses.Thats my experience and no one should make that mistake.

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE!!! My dad almost died from an infection bursting inside him so he was in here for almost a month. They forgot to feed him multiple times, he has supposed to be moved every hour because of the infection being on his tailbone (they did not at all), they were ignoring pretty much everyone’s calls for help in the hospital (so multiple people were having to YELL for help that never came), they made his liver levels go way over by basically overdosing him on two of the same meds, would forget to give him his meds so he was in a significant amount of pain and they wouldn’t answer the emergency button (and he couldn’t move himself to even try to go find someone. He didn’t want to bother them anyways cause he’s too nice so he would just lay there crying), lost his shoes and canes and made him walk out barefoot, also took him to the wrong exit and left him there. He wasn’t supposed to even be there for more than a week and put him in a rehab but didn’t do it quit enough and his insurance said they took too long and wouldn’t pay for the rehab. Absolutely awful place. He not doing well at home cause he needed that rehab center. Please if you love your loved ones or yourself DO. NOT. GO. HERE. Thank you to the ONE good nurse that unfortunately my dad only got two times who went above and beyond.

We have tried repeatedly to get information on our brother. We are his health care poas. When we call the nurses station they say the nurse is unavailable but will call back. They never do. Tonight we called the charge nurse who said she would call back with information. Again, no call back. We don't live in the Columbus area and are unable to visit daily.
