A small room with up to 5-6 formula technicians, no social distancing, wearing a mask under the nose or no masks, people with covid symptoms like coughing, shortness of breath, got infected one by one, tested positive, after several days could show up to work in the HOSPITAL. The working conditions were unhealthy and unsafe. Covid19 killed millions of people. Formula technicians not only prepare formula for hundred patients but also deliver those bottles to the patient's rooms many times per day spreading the disease.  They are like "infected card readers" at self-checkout where people punch their payment card pin codes.  Nothing has been done to slow down the rise of infected cases in a formula room and nearby. An issue with the covid outbreak as well as other issues were raised but never been addressed. An attempt to escalate my concerns to the senior leadership at Childrens' Hospital resulted in my "voluntary" resignation. I do not recommend sending your kids there.

This review is in regards to our NICU stay. Both my premature twins were transferred here from another hospital. Our experience here has been by far the worst experience of our lives. 1 star is too high of a rating for the level of care. We were here every day for over 30 days before an actual doctor took time to meet us face to face to discuss our twins treatment. We would randomly come in and major changes had been done to our twins without them even having the decency to alert us. I had to file a complaint with the Ohio Department of Health and the Joint Commission regarding them denying my son food. I talked to 4 care coordinators and a director and zero changes were made. Avoid this hospital at all cost. They do not treat your child as an individual but rather just follow their predefined protocols, so they can avoid litigation. The doctors simply DO NOT CARE!

UPDATE: Once again today 10/27/2022 I am here in the emergency with my son, waiting for 4 hours in the Children's Hospital Lobby waiting to see the doctor in what could be a urinary tract infection and we wait for a hours more. With so many sick children and little, little babies crying. That it is depressing to see how nobody cares for them. And wait hours and hours to receive attention. I hope they improve the system in winter times. So bad. I came to the emergency room on 05/05 with my son for a two-day fever, I waited 5 hours to be treated and they diagnosed him with an infection in the ear, I gave him his antibiotic (amoxicillin) and he never got better the next day I went back to the ER with him and waited 6 hours for a doctor to see him again. What a terrible experience for an almost one year old baby to wait more than 5 hours in a waiting room and all his team on the phone without doing anything

Terrible experience. My daughter had open heart surgery a month ago. During her stay, we ordered a piece of bread from children’s cafeteria. The bread we received was molded! They told us she cannot see her 2 year old brother because kids can bring germs to cardiology unit. Which is more harmful, her bother or molded bread? My daughter sees heart center very frequently. Every time I take her to her appointment, we wait over one hour although there is a poster said late patients may be asked to reschedule. They can make patients wait for over an hour but they ask us to reschedule if we are late? That is ridiculous! I know children’s put comment on my post to contact to patient relation. I already did multiple times but no response. I am so disappointed with their service although some doctors and nurses are fantastic.

Top of the line care. My daughter had a surgery here. My care team was amazing. Every staff member we came across was kind and glad to help in any way. The rooms were very clean. Great atmosphere in general. Easy to park and navigate the building. No complaints at all!!

Worst children's hospital ever. All they care about is money and they will do anything to get it. If you raise concerns about care, they will black list you in their system so you'll never have it easy even in their urgent care locations. Their egos are bigger than the world, they feel like gods of families, they do not care about a sick child. Money, research and authority is their main dish. They have monopolized and taken all child care health matters in this entire religion so if you live in this area, brace yourself for torture, be very quiet as they destroy your baby and family or else they'll even call CPS on you just to inflict maximum pain. This is not a hospital it's a prison for families and especially babies. By the way, if they ask you to send your child's name and Date of Birth, don't! It'd be for the reason above; black list your child to all facilities. They are terrible!

This is the first time I've had to come here and it will definitely be my last. We sat in the waiting room for over 2 hours while there were multiple people standing around doing nothing. When we finally got called back to a room we were there for almost 3 hours before anyone even bothered to come in and talk to us, only after I threatened to move my daughter to another hospital did anyone come in and explain anything. They ended up admitting my daughter and it was another 3 hour wait to be taken to a room. The nurses and doctors were extremely rude and didn't seem to know anything that was going on right down to the simplest of questions. Definitely wouldn't recommend and will never return

This location is a JOKE! Waited 3 hours to not be seeing by a doctor. My son was sent here by his pediatrician, after being seeing 3 times in a week! This location was not busy AT ALL when we arrived. The nurse stated “ we aren’t busy we will get you a room very quickly” 3 hours later NOTHING! The hospital then was flooded with other sick patients. Extreme lack of professionalism.. i highly recommend going else where if possible.

I never seen such like worst children hospital in my life. OH state need to shut down this hospital immediately. I took my 3 month infant to emergency after mid night at 1am and sat down there more than 5 hours without any help. I have tried to talk to their nurse and they were sitting in suitable room and hanging with their mobile. Finally, I took my baby to my home without any help and started praying. I don't understand why this hospital is monopolized children hospital in this state. They are gambling with life of children's every where in Ohio state. I never ever expected such like service in United states of America. So sad!!

We LOVE our son’s doctors/surgeons, and most of the nursing staff is amazing. The security team could use some conflict resolution and deescalation training, otherwise it would be a 5-star review for sure. AND their parking garages and lots are $2/exit, so if you stay an hour, or you stay a month, it costs the same! Plus the outdoor green spaces and edible garden are a welcome reprieve after long days in the hospital.

Waited here for over 5 hours. Came in with my 6 month for a fever. They took her temperature during vitals and it was 103.3. They said it'll be a while before being seen because they take patients by severity. That they had patients there for 20+hours already. I'm sorry but a fever 103.3 is dangerously high for a 6 month old and could cause several issues. If that isn't a situation to be seen soon then I don't know what it. We asked how much longer and got told to sit and get comfortable because it'll be a while. So unprofessional for a children's hospital. Will make sure to never come here again. Sat here for 5 hours to not be seen

Scheduled an outpatient surgery for 930 am. We got here. They stripped my child down gave a gown to wear and here we still sit at 1:15pm still hasn’t had the procedure done. We were informed they don’t know when we will be seen.

All they care about is their money, my daughter has been in the hospital her whole life (almost 4 months) and the only phone calls I get is from billing asking when I’m going to pay. Some of the nurses are kind but a majority doesn’t care and are fairly rude. I have called several times for an update from the nurses and doctors, I have been told numerous times that someone would call me back but no one ever does. Their visitor policy is absurd, I know that COVID is a concern, however she has spent her whole life in the hospital and both sets of her grandparents cannot visit- only 4 visitors on the list and 2 on bedside is ridiculous. Her surgeons were great and that is the only reason I’m rating it over a 1 star.

My son was transferred here from birth issues due to my home town hospital's mistake. They took excellent care of my son. They included us every morning in his care plan. They kept us involved daily! They helped us with parking, food, drinks. The first day there they got us into Ronald McDonald charity house without us having to do anything. They made it easy to be with our son and they were all amazing! Couldn't thank them enough!!

This place is awful! They performed unnecessary procedures on my newborn niece. They just want to experiment on babies. She was born healthy, with a very small cleft pallet. She was able to breastfeed without a problem. But they wanted to bottle feed, and she would choke. Also she was spitting up formula. But she was fine with breast milk, and didn't spit up when breastfeeding. So they gave her a feeding tube and done other unnecessary things. I wouldn't let my worst enemy go to this hospital. Parents please take your children somewhere else. Cause if you don't let them do what they want to your children, they will call CPS and tell them a bunch of lies.

If I can mark less than 1 star I will definitely do that! We got to the hospital by ambulance. My child had seizure. Emergency room gave her Tylenol and sent us in waiting area, saying that all rooms are full and we have to wait. The main issue with this hospital is that so many people take their kids here for issues that are decisively not emergencies. This was obvious when we went in for a real emergency and saw so many patients coming in for low grade fevers, ear infections, UTIs, sprained ankles, stomach issues and a whole host of other common ailments that should be a normal doctors visit or at most urgent care. The majority of the 1 star reviews are people who should never have gone to the EMERGENCY room. If it’s not an emergency don’t go!!! We were waiting 6 hours until we got to the information desk and she said that we have to keep waiting. So from the first time nurse saw her at 6:18 til the moment we got discharged it took us awhile. We got discharged at 2:40 am. Worse ER ever!!!!!!

Phenomenal place. The environment is so inviting for children. Plus the staff was warm, friendly and put my family and I at ease. Especially, my 5yr old grandson went in for an extensive dental procedure. I regret I didn't take photos to show how cool this place is.

If I could give the outpatient sleep clinic zero stars I would have. Including the RT and RN who were both rude to ME and ultimately had me escorted out of the hospital by security. My only fault was I was trying to tell the RT about my child and difficulty keeping monitors and leads hooked up to him. I finally gave up after being cut off / interrupted several times. I finally just said just go ahead since u don’t want to hear anything I have to say about My child. I then requested someone else or her supervisor. She was only RT working with 12 patients which explained her rushed, rude attitude. And when the supervisor came she would not listen to me either regarding the situation. She only came in to tell me that the RT was refusing to perform my son’s test and that they would need to reschedule me. (Which they never did). I was then left in the room not sure if I was supposed to leave or what. A security guard brought me some papers but I still was not told what to do or given another appointment. Put call light on and no one came. Twice. Call light was just switched off both times. So I packed up our stuff and went to desk to ask about the appointment reschedule and ask how to get out. I was met by RN and security guard who escorted me out following me all the way out into parking garage and even stood by where u put your ticket in to leave. Very intimidating and treating me like some kind of criminal when I did nothing wrong but try to educate this RT on my child.

Nurses threw away personal belongings and left my daughter in a puke covered gown. Just to start with. Multiple, multiple, issues throughout our stay. Extremely unprofessional. Their service and care are way lower than what they were years ago. I've has to fight tooth and nail to stay informed, and make sure my daughter isn't being neglected. I am enraged with my stay and have already spoke to 2 social workers, 3 charge nurses, and patient relations. Still unable to stop issues from happening or being involved in her care. BUT, They have said sorry for neglecting my daughter. Which makes the whole situation "okay" apparently.

We have yet to even be seen and have been waiting for 5hours. My daughter is having breathing problems. She is one. They had someone go missing in our time here. They don’t provide any information on how long you will wait. This hospital is huge I don’t understand how they don’t have enough rooms for people. After being seen they only tested for Covid and the flu and said she is basically fine and they can’t do anything. Big disappointment in or heath care

So this hospital is a hugely mixed bag for me. My daughter has been in a lot of their clinics and she was diagnosed with autism here. We have been to the main ER 3 times (2 successful trip and one HORRIBLE time). Their dental clinic is HORRIBLE. Long wait times. My daughter needed surgery and it took them over NINE months to get her scheduled (she need to go to the surgery center for it not just in clinic). ENT is pretty good. Doctor Jatana is amazing! Their OT department is great too. Kefee really helped not only my daughter, but me too. Speech I was less happy about. They just did the same thing over and over. My daughter didn’t benefit from speech until she moved to her school speech. Their ER is a huge wash if it is is good or not. I once took my daughter in because she wasn’t eating or drinking. Throwing up. High fever. Blood pressure was off. The doctor took the time to listen and ended up finding out that she had swallowed something and she had surgery the next day for it. My last trip to the ER we sat in the ER for 6 hours (because her ent was worried about an abscess in her ear). The doctor came in and was very rude. She wouldn’t listen to me about how my daughter is afraid of getting her ears looked in. She tried to say she had an ear infection, without even paging the ENT we waited 6 hours for. Then the nurse tried to say I refused care for my daughter because I wanted to wait until the ENT got done talking to her attending before giving her medication. My last point is it is impossible to get anyone on the phone!!!!!

I am a patient in the ACHD program. I am SO THANKFUL that this program exists for people like me. I drive 3 hours to Columbus because the cardiologists in my area mainly only see old people with age related issues, or they are rude and brush off symptoms. I love the hospital as a whole, I had a heart defect repaired here and it was a great experience. I love the atmosphere and how it doesn’t have the “gloomy hospital” type of vibe to it. I brag about them all the time to anyone who will listen. My current cardiologist is very educated and does her job well. She absolutely did not brush me off and made sure to ease any heart-related anxiety I had. My only complaint was that she made me feel very uncomfortable because she did not agree with my choice of not wanting children. I am 26 years old. I have never wanted kids, not even as a child. It is MY CHOICE. I will not tolerate being told that “I might change my mind” and “I don’t know what I want yet” or anything similar, especially by someone I just met.

I have always spoke highly of NCH. When I do have to come here I try to go to the urgent care. On this day I started off in the urgent care and ended up in the ER. I have 3 other family members at home waiting for me. I am a single parent. I woke up this morning about 6:00 am. I went to work. After work my son needed medical treatment. We arrived at 8:30 pm. In a few hours it will be 6:00 am. Again. I will miss work. I will not be able to sleep in this cold clinical hell where Doctors play God and keep you in this purgatory for as long as they can. Right now my son is not on an IV not being monitored. Just laying in bed. I submit that we could be just as ignored in the comfort of our own home. Hey "Doctor!" what are you doing to the children when you do harm to the parent? Maybe you are not here for the children... ....just your ego.

Dr. Eleftheria Matsa allowed a man to break into my apartment knowing he was undergoing a psychotic break! Her and her father are slum lords who were previously involved in tax fraud and kidnapping allegations involving her mother! I wouldnt trust her around me, my family, children or ANYone.

Misdiagnosing my child. Intercepting a referral to a specialist to seek answers for her issues and you guys canceled it with out even contacting us. Not updating my chart notes. Accepting the misdiagnoses 4 months later while the child’s issues have worsened. This hospital is the sole reason my child can not drink from a bottle and is Ng tube fed.

Was transferred here from Findlay about 2 hours away. Security was a little rough at 3:30 am because we didn't know where we going or where we where at by that time. After getting through security the rest of the staff was great. Everyone from housekeepers, nurse, Dr, surgery people cafe and reception where all very nice and friendly. The food in the cafeteria is pretty good. Only complaint all the pop is diet or zero sugar stuff. When you have been up over 29 hours that didn't help any. The rooms are pretty big. Took a while to find somewhere I could pass out for a bit before my son got a room. I stand 6 ft 3 and well over 300lb.

Let me start off by saying the staff was very courteous and polite. I spent six hours in the emergency room waiting to be seen and that I could of over looked I can even over look the fact that the vending machines only take cash and there are no charging stations available all of this I could over look. What I can not over look is the fact that a young man was marched through the emergency room in handcuffs in a room full of children and was taken outside in just socks and hospital attire in the middle of December. This is the reason I am given children's hospital one star.

Unacceptable wait times in the ER for a small child with a head injury. Several others checked in and were taken back first. Now, I don’t know what they were in for but they were moving around on their own without issue, none seemed to be in any serious pain, and some were well enough to get food from the vending machine and eat. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like a 4 month old with a head injury shouldn’t be waiting for long at all. Have you tried keeping a 4 month old awake for a long time when they’re exhausted and ready for a nap? Last time I checked head injury protocol 101 was to not fall asleep before being checked out. Apparently at NCH ER it amounts to very little concern.

After reading a post from the pediatric allergist, Dr. Dave Stukus, at this hospital and the reviews for this facility I warn you to stay far far away from this place. It is primarily funded by vaccine kickbacks. Here is what Dr. Stukus wrote in his post: “You CANNOT boost the immune system with supplements, vitamins, super foods, chiropractic care or essential oils. You CAN emphasize washing hands and having vaccines UTD.” I no longer see a Facebook page for this doctor. Go ahead and Google this for your own reference. He is still in his position at this hospital.

Came in with my daughter by ambulance for a trauma- staff was rude and made me feel bad for being upset- MY CHILD WAS HURT! I was so disappointed in the staff there and the gentleman who did her IV was a joke- he took forever and it seemed like his first time. They also discharged us too early and never gave my daughter fluids- she in turn became dehydrated and we had to rush to huntington children’s hospital the next day.after a sedation and stitches.

Called in to make an appointment for my 4 year old autistic grandson who had been crying uncontrollably for 4 days after a traumatic change in his life. The lady who called back basically said they would not see him until we figured out how to pay for his visit. He is not insured. Shame on you! Your mission statement is basically one big fat lie .

The surgery was good. The process overall was good, even with the strain of current events. Real reason it’s two stars almost one is the runaround and lies. Surgeon was in last night, talked about how great she was doing, no reason we wouldn’t go home in the morning, he’d be in at eight AM to see her. Nighttime physician was impressed and said we would be going home in the morning, nighttime physician checked on her at six thirty this morning, said she was great we were going home this morning. Team checked at eight AM and said we were getting discharged. Now we are being told we have to stay till two PM. I have made multiple trips to the cafeteria and vending machines to get my daughter drinks and food. The liquids and nutrition that is provided to her is not near enough. Beyond healthy enough and ready to go home. Want this review gone. Discharge is already.

I would not send my dog to the H7B unit. The NICU was wonderful, but the H7B is completely incompetent. No communication, false documentation, neglectful to needs, and condescending when a parent voices concerns or questions treatment. I have dealt with parents who brought their children home who have been faced with this and I'm now seeing it first hand. COVID does not give them an excuse to do things behind the parents back. They are limiting visitors under the guise of safety, when in reality, they know they can get away with more because the parents can't be there all the time. They have exposed my granddaughter to COVID twice since she has been there, but say it's "safer for her to be there than home" even though she is perfectly "healthy". We were told (3 weeks ago) she would be released in a week, then they say they will "hold her as long as they want" and are making up excuses to do so. I am contacting the Ohio Medical Board and an Attorney.

This has been the worst experience of any hospital I've visited. I spent time in the military where my kids have been treated across multiple hospitals in multiple states and I have never been insulted so thoroughly. I have been raising my son for 14 years since he was 1 year old. I have NEVER once been referred to as step-dad across multiple visits to multiple departments at 8 different hospitals. The lady at Nephrology referred to me as step-dad 3 times in the 1st 30 seconds which made me and my son very uncomfortable during a time he was having a medical emergency. I asked her to please refer to me by my name to which she refused and added step-dad to the end of every single statement she made the rest of the visit. Move on to today to the follow up appointment where I was at home and Mt wife took our son. Without me even being there the receptionists started talking about me as "step-dad" to my wife. She said no, he's his dad. Please stop referring to him as step dad. The receptionist said if he hasn't adopted him then legally he is his step dad. My wife said "I understand that but you don't have to keep referring to him that way after I've asked you not to. Repeating the same behavior she doubled down and started adding "step-dad" to every sentence. A hospital os a place staff should try to make patients feel welcomed and at ease, especially at a children's hospital where a teenager is experiencing blood pressure of 190/120 and experiencing dizzy spells. This is truly despicable and should be embarrassing to your entire organization. There is no way I'm the 1st to experience this. You should all be ashamed at the disrespectful way you treat people.

10 1/2 hrs.! A patient should be seen by when you sign in keeping in mind that emergency patients do go ahead of everyone else. We were seen on a number basis, a nurse checked us in and she decided what degree of urgency my grandson had. As we watched everyone in the waiting room go ahead of us, we were mentally exhausted. We should not have waited for that length of time, having a 2 hour drive to return home. What is wrong with their system? Looking at all other upset comments, you would think that the hospital would sure figure out a better way to see patients. SO DISAPPOINTED with Childrens hospital.

I've had the worse experience of my life. My daughter waited 6 hours in the ER and was never seen, she was skipped over while she was in the most pain ever. I went to the desk several times and was told we will get to you in an minute. It never happened. What happened to compassion and good health-care. I'm reporting this to my insurance and her doctor who asked us to go there. Never again in my life. I don't play about my children. So disappointing.

The campus is beautiful, welcoming, and our little one loves checking out all the statues. The nurses are fantastic, and show such compassion. The urology dept is impossible. Cannot get a call back, cannot get direct answers to direct questions. Scheduling months out. No appt reminders, just "you should have seen it on mychart." (PS, not everyone has used mychart before, myself included. I had no clue how to do more than read and send a message). My level of frustration with this office is overwhelming, and I wished we had chosen Dayton or Toledo instead.

We came in the other day as a transfer from another hospital almost 2 hours away. We had to go through the ER before being admitted & getting our room. I was not impressed with the ER staff or security at all. Staff was uneducated & we had to ask multiple times for things. security was just plain rude. HOWEVER, once we had gotten our room they were phenomenal! Excellent care. Very attentive & empathetic. Matter of fact, EVERYONE we came across during our stay after getting our room was great!

Too much trying to teach people rather than focusing on the patient's need of care. We did not have the same doctor there's not any consistency in the person that sees your child during being admitted. I feel like there is way too many hands on my son and I was not comfortable with that. I wish that they would ask the patients if they are okay with having the people that students so involved rather then the doctor to resolve what was wrong with him. The fellow we had was good and we did have consistency with one of the fellow doctors but still I feel like they could have got to a solution a lot quicker and more accurately had there been less hands on him.

I wish there was an option to give this hospital 0 stars. I took my Son Isaac there last night 04/17/23 at 8:00 PM. We waited 8 hrs to be taken back to a room. We didn’t get to leave until almost 5:00 AM today 04/18/23. My Son sat in the ER with severe stomach pain, and constant vomiting for 8 hrs. Just for them to give him nausea medicine and discharge him. They did absolutely nothing for my Son. This is the absolute worst hospital I have ever been to in my life. There was absolutely no sense of urgency in this Emergency Room. We were just a number to them in their long list of numbers. They didn’t show any concern or care for my 7 year old Son. We would have gotten better care at a 3rd world hospital! Do not ever take your child to this hospital they will not take any care or show any concern for you or your child!!!!!!!

Would rate the er department zero stars if I could. My kid had a seizure and they set us out the first time after only doing an EKG to check his heart didn't do any other testing they want us to do Outpatient Care. 4 hours later he has another seizure at home we bring him immediately back and have been here over three hours in the waiting area, my kid has had two events in the waiting room where he started shaking like he was going to cease for a third time and still hasn't been seen.

I'm absolutely DISGUSTED with Nationwide Children's Hospital at this point.... They almost KILLED my niece, have lied to my sister about the care provided and the issues the baby was having, and REFUSE to let the baby come home even though she shows no signs of medical issues. The care team even said the baby is perfectly healthy, but won't let her come home. Now they're threatening to call CPS because my sister wants the baby in better care.

I wish there was the option to give negative five stars. Three hours…. Three hours we sat in that emergency department before we finally just left. There is no excuse under the sun why our sick children are forced to sit that obnoxiously long to be seen by a healthcare professional. Avoid this place like it’s the black plague. If we boycott and take away their money maybe they’ll change the way they do things. Take your child somewhere else where they actually care about the well-being of children. Poor poor poor service here. I’m trying my best to not be upset but this is the least scathing review I can give to this horrible place. Don’t take your kids here

Our daughter was sent from our local urgent care to the ER department at nationwide children’s with both of her earrings embedded and a sore throat. At our local urgent care they never gave us back the results from her strep swab, and they had my poor 4 year old in a panic bc they told her that you guys were going to have to sedate her and cut her ears open. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I cannot express how grateful we are that we were sent to this hospital! Everyone was so kind and caring, and did a fantastic job of making us all feel comfortable during her visit! Our daughter received prompt treatment, the wait time wasn’t bad at all! They were quick to re swab her for strep and not only did we get the results back quickly, they even started the antibiotics for us so that we wouldn’t have to wait for the pharmacy to open today. They also were able to remove her earrings quickly, and without needing to put her through a whole procedure too, which was a huge relief for all of us! Over all they did a fantastic job, and we will definitely go here from now whenever possible! It’s a bit of a drive for us, but so worth the trip!

This hospital needs to learn that if you're a parent going here OBVIOUSLY you're going to not be in the best mindset considering you're here for your CHILD. Yet no one seems to care at all, they will continue to treat you like trash. OSU treats kids better and they're not even specialized in it. Every waiting room has a TV at volume 2, nothing for your kids to do while you wait 5hrs for them to figure out what they're even supposed to do. COMMUNICATION IS COMPLETELY HORRIBLE IN THE ENTIRE HOSPITAL, everyone just does there own thing and gets confused when you tell them what you're there for. & they will go out of their way just to do/say negative things to you, your kids or your entire family. There's probably 5 people in the entire place that actually try, everyone else is more worried about office drama than working. Even when you push the button in parking for assistance they get on the speaker to start a fight with you. It would be great if in over the year and a half of going here, literally every week if not every month, you could have at least one good positive visit. But it literally seems like there's ALWAYS someone there to make sure you continue to feel miserable. If you take your child here make sure you have the number to public relations because you'll need it for the amount of complaints and rude people you'll have during your time there.

Terrible ER experience for our 9 year old with an extreme case of diarrhea. We arrived at 12 am and didn't leave until 7 am. No sense of urgency on their part. I wish we had just stayed home.

This hospital has no sympathy for anyone. My nephews is in a coma there and were told its not a good chance of him making it and they just dont seem to care. They wont even let us go in and see him. We have a huge family and they only pick 2 people a day to go in. This is by far the worse childrens hospital i have ever been to.

Worse hospital ever. Can’t get my daughters referral sent to another hospital so she can be treated. Doctor lied about my daughter getting treatment. And admitted it. I asked for the doctor to be removed off her case and she was still treating her when we left!!! I need my daughters records sent to another hospital!

So recently a young friend of mine was checked in for mental health and other things & while she was there she was extremely uncomfortable. They strapped her to a bed, made her SHOWER and use the restroom in front of them, mind you this is a CHILD. That’s very unprofessional and uncalled for, for somebody who is in a very tough position.

My son recently had surgery at the hospital. While waiting for the doctor, we were asked to take part in a research study during his surgery. This felt like a door to door sales person asking us to buy something. If the hospital or department wants to ask if families will participate in research, this should be asked prior to the day of surgery, not a few hours before when the infant is crying. I couldn't even hear the doctor talk because my baby was so upset. Next, we go to the pharmacy in the hospital to pick up his prescription. While my husband is paying, a pharmacy tech asks me to scoot over so a mother and daughter can check out. The mother and daughter had been sitting nearby on chairs waiting. Once they get the little girl's prescription, they walk away, and the tech comes back over to me and apologizes for asking me to move and tells me that little girl has Covid so she wanted me further away from her. She told me normally they do curbside pickup but the mother didn't have a car. So they were inside a crowded hospital, sitting on the chairs that I never saw anyone go clean afterwards and the little girl had COVID. The surgeon was great aside from being late, and the staff in the family waiting room were wonderful, but that was about the only positive experiences we had.

Went with my 11 year old daughter, she was having pain in her belly and the first thing they did was accuse me of abusing my child. I felt so passed off that they didn't check ANYTHING else before hand. What a messed up place to go! I will NEVER EVER take my children there again. Yall need to check your employees and make some changes. We got there at 4am and here it is almost 10am and they still have its here. It takes them 3 hours to do one task! How disgraceful!

First let me say that the nurses do try their best to work hard towards saving the life of the kids. With that said, my experience with this hospital is one I would never want for anyone else. Let me begin by saying that my son was in the NICU at another hospital and then transferred here. I ended up catching Covid and having to be gone away from him for three weeks. Upon my arrival back to the hospital from a different state as this was an adoption, I had to catch up on the bonding experience with my son. Between arguing with people about the nipple, I wanted to use and bottle system to use to the delay in the response of a tumor found that caused us to have to stay additional months to using my adoption and them not releasing my son to me as a reason for additional surgeries I would not ever want to come back here and have to have an adoption again. It was really hard to trust if they were doing what was right by him or them. Just be a huge advocate for your kid(s), have custody over them if you’re doing an adoption so you can move them if needed. There are good things about the hospital but it’s overshadowed by the moments when it doesn’t seem like they are hearing you. I had one doctor say he didn’t go to school to learn big words to have to dumb it down for parents. I was in dismay because I’m an educated person who has no issue understanding. There is so much to my story and time but just know that if you come here it will be a fight and a need to stay on guard and do research on what they are saying to make sure it is what your kid really needs.

My son was brought here by ambulance December 29th because he had a mass on his brain blocking the brain fluid from draining down into his spinal cord had 4 brain surgeries in his first 2 weeks here. We found out my son has An atrt tumor and if it wasn't for Dr Pendrick & Dr Lenard we more than likely would have lost our little boy the NICU on the second floor was great with my son even came by to say by to him as he was moved up to 12th floor. So now we are doing chemo he is almost done with his first cycle of chemotherapy this has been a great hospital for us and thank all of you guys involved in getting my son better #Dravenstrong

Words cannot describe how frustrated I am. We got sent here from another ER to do a ultrasound we’ve been here for 12+ hours which 5 hours was waiting for results. My family have been calling to check up on me and they even have fell asleep and woke up. This isn’t even all, there are people who have been here before me and they’re still here. We also live 30 minutes away from here and it’s highways. Imagine driving for 30 minutes to get treated and driving highways back for more then 20 minutes with no sleep or food in 12+ hours. This hospital so big but can’t provide services to do faster. National wide so better.

I had a visit in the GI department with my son for his constipation associated with his autism and that doctor is AMAZING. Thoroughly explained the situation and what needed to happen, wants to stay well informed, and just was really supportive through the whole appointment. Now in other areas I've had so many issues, but this particular appointment and doctor were awesome.

I had to take my 15 month daughter to the ER at Children’s last night due to a dog bite. Everyone there was so kind and so caring. They had a woman who came in Hills soul purpose was to keep my daughter distracted and to keep her calmed down. They had three different specialist come in to assess her and then together as a team came up with an action plan. I was included in every decision along the way. They were quick and efficient. We were never in the room For very long by ourselves! From the bottom of my heart... THANK YOU!

I haven’t always had the best experiences with children’s. However , I wanted to write this review for the woman I spoke with this morning in scheduling. I called to schedule my son’s physical & got a woman named Marie or Maria … I wish I remembered which one. I tried doing the survey after the phone call but was disconnected. So I felt the need to do something to let people know that there are people who care at children’s hospital, even in scheduling. She was so sweet, so thoughtful, and the most helpful person I’ve ever spoken with through children’s… & I have had children’s as a provider for all my kids, for the last 14 years . Thank you Marie !

First just out of curiosity has anyone else felt beyond profiled and judged while having your child admitted in this hospital? We took our daughter this past Sunday with a kidney stone and they admitted her after sitting in the ER for 10 hours. Once we got a bed we learned that the TV in the room did not work (mind you that is how you learn and do everything they offer during your unfortunate stay) and the nurse reassured us that they would call someone and have it fixed immediately *we were there from Sunday night until Wednesday evening an* that never happened until Tuesday night a nurse who was the ONLY caring an genuine one on H9A floor came in with keys and opened the TV unplugged it and restarted it and the TV worked with no problem! She even looked confused when she asked if anyone else had tried this and we stayed no that we were told they had to call a special service in. However that is the least of my issue, the nurses doctors and millions of students tht come in the room treated my wife an I like we were incompetent and unworthy of even having a child not sure if this is due to us being gay or what but we definitely think it was because it was so uncomfortable to constantly be stared at and whispered about whenever thy seen us but also spoken to like we were 2 or given attitude about everything the entire stay. Not only that but our daughter who was Ill and uncomfortable already was not made comfortable at all! It seemed as though they punished her for their opinions on my wife and I.She had no TV apparently thy had an iPad for every room and we were not told about that until the day went home they came in and accused us of checking it out at 2:30am by a male nurse which whom we never seen at all and then told it was his mistake writing the wrong room number however she could not use one because her rooms was checked out and they could not use another rooms iPad? Not to , mention they forced her I get an ultrasound when she first woke up and had to use the restroom so ad thy cases her to have a accident and completely embarrassed her without any care in the world and disregarded our request of waiting until lunch time so she could to he restroom first. Also I was harassed daily by security due to them giving me the wrong pass saying I was a visitor and not a parent. They never told us anything they offered nothing tht our daughter could do to fill her time or anything we were left to figure it out while being judged the entire time by the rudest staff of nurses I have ever encountered. Not only did they fail at calming our daughter and ensuring her comfort but also ours. If you're child needs to be seen at a children's please go to Dayton or Cincinnati they will treat everyone with respect and or child will never go without. Please don't put LGBTQ friendly in your highlights because that is so far from the truth.

When I was 3 or 4 years old i had a really bad asthma attack and had to go to NWCH (Nationwide Children’s Hospital). I was there for about 3 to 4 days and all i remember was the nurses and doctors that helped me, being so nice, kind and caring. Nationwide is one of the most amazing Hospitals in the world. If there is ever something wrong with you kids i would tell you to take them to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Not just the staff, but the hospital was so nice, modern, clean, and comfortable. When i was there it felt like i was at home and that feeling of being at home is one of the biggest gifts your could ever feel. I truly wish i could give infinity stars. Thanks again for the most incredible Experience of my life.❤️

If 0 stars was an option I would give it that. We came 3.5 hours from out of state hospital where my daughter wad inpatient, for a new work up on my daughter who has a unique medical history. We were made to feel like we may get answers while in the ED. They admitted us to the 7th floor where we gave the physicians a thorough history and had her previous records. The dr immediately passed judgement and was rolling her eyes as my husband and I were telling her the history. She had 4 students with her, the students were intrigued and were asking questions. But the head dr was very judgemental. She came back in 4-5 hour later and said "I'm just going to be honest, I didn't read all her records but your daughter can do with less medical treatment and I think she is fine and you can go home" I asked for an elaboration since my daughter stops breathing, turns blue, and wakes up screaming when her heart rate drops and she said, "she is hydrated, well fed and looks fine, we can keep her and observe her another night, but she is fine and she can use less medical interventions" I said to please discharge us and send us home. We were labeled by her due to my daughter having low oxygen, bradycardia, obstructive sleep apnea, central apnea, autonomic dysfunction, dysphagia, an enlarged spleen, seizure like activity, stroke like symptoms, passing solid food through her stool, drinking 160+ ounces if fluid a day and many more new symptoms. She labeled us since we had been to one of our local hospitals frequently from my daughter's other issues and her needing medical care. She questioned how we got her diagnosed with these things and I literally told her to look in her chart and see how. We literally came here for help and to seek answers, but instead were failed by the medical system once again. We were unfairly judged by this "dr" who made us seem like we were unfit parents by the comments she made. Save your time and money and go to a hospital that may show some compassion and actually have physicians who want to help instead of pass judgements on people.

Worst hospital stay of my life. My baby went septic twice in 1 month due to what I assume had to be from people not cleaning properly. Then whenever she got better and went to the step down unit she aspirated and had a oxygen saturation as low as 60 during shift change and no one came in for at least 10 minutes and it turned out to be and emergent situation landing her back in the ICU. Finally I got her a transfer and on the website it stated that the aircraft has room for a parent to possibly go with their child when I asked I think everyone beat around the bush until the finally came up with the reason of another pilot for me to not be able to travel with my baby. Did they not know this pilot was coming when I asked the night before?? They did more harm in 30 days than her 84 day NICU stay back home. And they have absolutely NO staff everyone is a travel nurse.

The NICU nurses are great! Took wonderful care of our daughter. My only suggestion is to have a better process within the lactation team. Every time I had a consultation with them it was a different person and they asked me the same three questions every single time. They didn’t really take the time to give me feedback or advice for breastfeeding. They kind of just sit there with you and watch you attempt to breastfeed then leave. The worst was when I asked for a consult and the lady basically refused to give me a direct answer to any of my questions and then just relied on pawning off one of their pumps at the hospital for me to use. She seemed so uninterested in actually helping me or answering my questions. Their lactation department as a whole needs a total revamp in their processes.

My children have received nothing but the greatest care from the staff each time we visit. Yes, wait time can be long but honestly where isn't there a long wait time. Yes, you're going to find some rude workers, but a majority of the workers are really nice and caring. My daughter was born with CKD almost 5 years ago, so we frequent this hospital way too often, and I have never had a negative experience.
