Doctor's are good patients care is absolutely horrible. A handful of staff is okay rest is completely rude. I would never recommend this hospital for any length of stay especially if you are unable to care for yourself. Can not wait to get our 21 year old daughter out of here. Every health care workers take and oath to give their patients the best care they can possibly give and if this is the best they can give here they have a lot to work on. Will never recommend or be back for any reason period.

It is inconceivable to many of the doctors at Ohio State that a patient might know their own body than them. These people are strictly committed to enforcing what their big pharma sponsored textbooks they were given in school told them. On multiple occasions i’ve had doctors condescendingly ask me if i’m a doctor for trying to explain to them what my mother is feeling. All they want to do is pump your loved ones with drugs to mask pain, never even considering to maybe remove the cause. When you try to explain to them the painkiller they keep giving you are causing more complications, they ask you if you’re a doctor to make you feel stupid, and prescribe more. The days of good doctors seem to be over. You are just a number to these people and they only do what their donors and special interest textbooks taught them to do. No special consideration for your unique circumstances. Go elsewhere if you care for your loved ones.

PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL. Read the reviews. I have stayed here for a week and can tell you this place is the worst hospital I have seen in Ohio. The doctors and nurses have no idea what they are doing. It is completely unsafe for you and your loved ones to be cared for by people here that have the very low intellect I have seen. It's seriously that bad!

The night coordinator specifically weekend shift for transplant are not helpful at all, the nurse we talked to both (different nurses ) after we call them said they’re not in front of a computer and directed us to go to the ER without any knowledge of my dad’s condition, thank god we have clinicians in our family who knows what to do and what not, this makes anyone specially older people like my dad with heavy accent when speaking English language hard to be hard. This is something we as Ohioan need to know improve and work on welcoming our community even those with limited English. I hope the hospital is able to see this and do something about it. This is a re occurring issue and needs to be fixed. I do want to emphasize that our weekday nurse coordinator Joe is an amazing nurse and very kind and knows his clients and understands them .thank you for reaching out and hope we’re able to resolve this issue. Thank you

The last 3 times either a family member of mine or I have went to the Wexner Medical center we had a horrible experience. When I went they performed a dangerous procedure that yielded no results and my doctor later told me they never should have performed to begin with. When a friend of mine stayed they forgot to give them their food for 3 of their meals. When my aunt went her monitor fell off while she was asleep and nobody noticed. She had to put the monitor back on herself and they were multiple hours late in giving her her morning medication.

I came to the Wexner Medical Center Emergency Room for a broken hand and amidst collapsing and almost passing out fin the pain in the lobby I’ve been treated as if I don’t matter. I was thrown in a bed in the walkway by the nurses desk where I heard plenty patient information being discussed loudly for all to hear, including first names, last names, ages, conditions, room numbers, locations of transfers and what medications each patient was receiving, which is a blatant HIPPA violation. The staff was incredibly rude and the nurses refused to give me the pain meds that my resident doctor ordered. Instead I was treated like a drug craven addict, even though I ASKED for lower level drugs and the doctor had the meds ordered for me. I was also given a bag of ice at the beginning of the visit but it melted and no one has replaced even though I’ve begged. I’m still in the hallway bed sobbing in pain. I’ve never been in as much pain as I am in right now. I feel as if I don’t matter in the eyes of this hospital. I don’t feel safe here. I would never recommend this facility for any capacity of care. I get hospitals get busy but there is no excuse for how I’ve been treated. Part of me thinks it’s because my boyfriend is here and we openly stated being in a relationship. It wasn’t until I heard a female nurse talking with a gay male nurse about her weekend at pride and his weekend with his partners family did I feel safer. Later that same female nurse noticed I was in pain and sobbing and immediately ran to may aid and got my ice and meds that the doctor ordered. Absolutely no hiccups. I feel discriminated against and very weary of receiving care here if I have the choice.

Said clearly on their website that physicals were 39 dollars, with and without insurance. Paid the 39 dollars for my daughter to get a school physical. Barely a week later, I am being billed for an additional 45 dollars. Sounds like a scam to me... Update: Called the billing department, and that wasn’t any help either. The lady on the phone was very curt and rude and didn’t seem to know anything about why I was charged the additional amount. They said it will take an additional 10 business days to investigate this. Either way, I am not responsible for this amount and will not be paying it. Will update this post once they get back to me. Update 2: Finally got word that the 45 dollar billing was an error. I haven't received any further billing from them. Will update my rating accordingly.

The doctors and care have been amazing. This issue is with the billing department. My wife has been receiving care here for a while, and there was an issue with her insurance paying for the approval appointment, but payed for all the treatment. Her doctor fought with the insurance to have it taken care of and insurance kept refusing. So he was an amazing, patient caring doctor who said that they would forgive that payment, which was a few thousand dollars so that we wouldn't have to. That was over a year ago, and billing has been fighting it ever since. Her doctor and his team has talked to billing personally to try and have it removed, and they have said my wife has to appeal with them even though the doctor wants it forgiven. Called again today, and they are saying now that the physician doesn't get to decide whether a bill is forgiven or not. We have been given the run around with this, and again, our doctors and care team have been amazing, but the billing department doesn't care what the doctors or patients have to say, they just want to squeeze every last penny out of you. Just another terrible, corporate hospital that cares about money more than it's patients well being, and fighting their own doctors who are actually providing the care for everyone, and actually care about their patients.

Almost everything about Wexner is awful. I waited 5 months to get an appointment, only to leave feeling like I had not been listened to at all and my dr wasn't interested in treating me. I've had appointments show up in MyChart that I never scheduled nor made myself, they made them for me without informing me. I told my dr I wasn't interested in an elimination diet as I recently did one and she signed me up for a class, that I did not know, was 80% about the elimination diet. I showed up at Wexner Hospital for a procedure, only to not be able to find any reasonable parking. I tried for the garage on 12th, yet there were no spots available inside as many people had double-parked due to lack of enough handicapped spots. The place is a maze and it took me over 30 minutes to figure out where I needed to check in as no employee sent me to the correct desk. I can rarely get anyone on the phone (on hold upwards of an hour multiple times) and when I do get somebody on the phone, they are generally unhelpful. I've had multiple instances I've had to be transferred 3 or 4 or 5 times as they don't know who to transfer me to. Practically every experience I've had with Wexner over the last 4 months has been disappointing and frustrating. I don't feel like a patient here -- I feel like a number. The only good experiences I've had are with those who perform lab procedures. Everybody else sucks, even the doctors. Not to mention you will have a waiting period of months between appointments and procedures. When I had my first appointment I had been throwing up multiple times daily for over 4 months and had lost more than 40 pounds, was too fatigued to even walk for half a mile, yet my doctor didn't seem empathetic or like she cared. She sent me away with two labs to get and a fiber supplement recommendation and that was it until I see her again, 5 months after the first appointment. She provided me with nothing that would actually help me.

Spent over 8 hrs in this ER last night for a bad cough. labs were not covered with me. Only results shared where that i dont have pnemonia or heart issues. Today i review my paperwork to find i had a bp of 184/90 ( i dont have high bp normally). extremely elevated bp within stroke range. No medication was provided nor did they share it with me. Now im home on a sunday worried abt having high bp after spending 8 hrs in the ER yesterday. I openly shared i had to get a babysitter just to be seen and still after 8 hrs of sitting around they didnt bother to treat my high blood pressure which could be getting in the way of my healing process. I am stunned by this. nor did they recheck my bp after seeing how high it was in triage. They were ok with me being a patient sacrafice. Mind you. i was told they "only had 90 patients yesterday meaning it was not a busy day. i assume i was neglected bc of the football game but this is unacceptable. NOT TO MENTION I HAD TINGLING IN MY LEFT HAND LAST NIGHT BUT THOUGHT IT WAS FROM BAD POSITIONING.

I have never felt so bad for going to the hospital to be seen at the ER. I am not a fan of OSU and I am definitely driving to Mount Carmel or an OhioHealth facility, if my doctor at the VA instructs me to go there ever again. If I had to choose OSU or stay home and die, I would much rather die. The nurses were rude and treated me like a criminal! I have never been talked to so rudely by any medical personnel until I was trying to be seen at OSU after departing OSU EAST. These people are rude and only concerned about COVID-19 as if all the other life threatening injuries that people may experience just disappear. Please don’t pretend to comment and be concerned. I’ve went through this before with OSU and it is just who they are. They are a large healthcare provider in Columbus, which leaves you with very little option to be seen elsewhere, and it’s like they know it. So therefore it’s a matter of dealing with them or dying. I choose to die. People please take your injuries and concerns elsewhere. This is the rudest healthcare I have ever encountered and I’ve been all over the world. I would much rather stay home and die. I don’t want them getting 1 cent from me. And trust me it’s the patience that keep healthcare paid. Take your concerns elsewhere these people are unkind and do not CARE! Not to mention the horrible billing department that you have to deal with after being mistreated by the nurses ugh. My list goes on! Gave me medication that I wasn’t supposed to have due to 1 kidney, overcharged me for their mistake. My list goes on! Please please please people stay away and just die at home

I would not recommend OSU Wexner center labor and delivery to any expecting mother. My experience was traumatizing and I have PTSD from my experience. I was admitted to OSU because my twins were coming early. I tested positive with Covid (without symptoms) and admitted for a week without my husband or any visitors. The nurses were mean to me. There were times they didn’t bring me food (while pregnant) I ordered so I had to eat snacks from the nurses station. Made comments like “don’t be upset with me I didn’t knock you up.” “If you’re going to cough or squeeze do it that way, because I don’t want to be sick.” One of my twins was taking more fluid from the other and was smaller. So they had to come out. But every other doctor said something different and wasn’t on the same page. I was sent home after the week stay. I was later readmitted because the twins needed to be born. They put off taking them even though they needed to come out. I was also told I wouldn’t be able to see my twins if they were in the NICU because I tested positive. I finally delivered them by Cesarean. I never got to hold them on my chest or even see their faces up close. Even though there were no concerns or problems. I didn’t get to see them till 3 hours later. This has negatively impacted my whole experience with child birth. Even going to any doctors appointment. If I ever get sent to OSU again I will refuse!

We received excellent care. It's a very large facility with all types of care and services available. Most of the staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. It is a teaching hospital so it is very busy and parking and navigation can be challenging. All areas we've been to have been clean and serviceable. The main cafeteria is very good with many options. Do pay attention to the building names as Rhodes and Doan are separate, but connected internally.

This hospital is very very helpful and loving, a special shout out to Nurse/ Doctor (Lauren & Bailey) they both are outstanding, and very patient and understanding. I watched them do, what the other nurses didn't do they both stood out the most out of everyone on that floor. They generally took care of my brother more, even when they had five or more people to take care of. I recommend you guys ask for these two outstanding Nurse/ Doctor :)

I couldn’t be more thankful for the nurses and doctors at this hospital who saved my life and my sons life. I was admitted for severe preeclampsia at 29 weeks, the nurses made my stay a lot easier and they were so sweet. I had my son at 30 weeks via emergency csection, the doctors did an amazing job and the NICU nurses have been absolutely amazing. The only complaint I have is that the postpartum rooms are very depressing. Overall amazing hospital and amazing staff.

Here for a blood transfusion. Been sitting here for the past 6 hours in the waiting area. Veteran sitting next to us has been waiting since 11 in the morning and I’m writing this review at 2 in the morning. Keep making building but could barely take care of handful of patients waiting in ER. ER itself will make you sick. The ambience is tiring, no food facility, staff need basic customer skills. Please don’t ask us to reach out to patient service to raise our concern. They very well know the facts about the system.

My sister is in “comfort” care there. Living her last days - I’ve called 3x in 48 hrs asking for an update- I get promised a nurse will call me back. NOTHING…. NO ONE calls! I have a “code”. But that doesn’t seem to matter! This is my sister!!!!!! One time I was put on hold…. Needless to say I finally hung up, it was evident no one was going to take the call - I’m pretty disappointed with all of you.

While my mother was sent here for cancer she was talked to like a dog and treated like such. I understand being under staffed is stressfull but don't take it out on patients that rely on your care. Management did little to nothing to help.

They gave my brother a couple infections in his port for his heart. He is on kidney dialysis 3 times a week but should be constant. Because he is an inmate for signing a bad check, some of the nurses were just horrible to him and down right rude. My brother is dying, all we want is for him to be treated with respect and like he was not an inmate. We were given a number to call and report them, by one of the witnesses in his room and we complained too. You should NOT take that kind of job if you can't treat everyone equal.

My wife’s doctor is exceptional. The staff is caring but the reaction time to basic things like potty-going, refill on antibiotic IV, and pain meds is below average. The problem is either not enough nurse staff or lack of concern to respond in an acceptable manner. The food is terrible as shown in the photo. If staff wouldn’t eat it, why would you serve it to patients. And medical staff wonder why patients aren’t eating and lacking “strength.” This is the problem of anything that is government-funded and doesn’t have to be concerned with competition.

All I experienced was a 2-hour wait in the lobby. When I inquired about the wait time or queue position, they simply mentioned they had no list. It appears that the hospital staff lacks knowledge about the process. It's puzzling how they managed to call out patient names without a list, which ultimately led me to leave. Despite the severe eye pain I was enduring, the visit felt like a complete waste of time.

Terrible customer service ! Two handicapped people discriminated. Arrive for appointment, called upon arrival. Nurse will be down soon we were told by the office. After waiting for 30 minutes, called the office back was told they don't help patients into the office . We have been patients for years and have always had help. So the appointment was missed. What a waste of time and effort that is very hard on any day. SO SAD !

It is the worse hospital I ever went to. Poor communication and treatment. My Mother has nodules on her lungs with no follow-up or treatment plan. She has Uveitis and 3 doctors gave 3 meds that gave her a reaction and caused her immune system to go down. She has been all over Columbus for prescriptions. When they are unsure how to help they push you to the side. Poor care.

Their doctors do a great job. But doctors and hospitals are separate things. The whole hospital is FILTHY. The dirtiest bathrooms I’ve been in. The same magazine has been on the waiting room floor for a week. They do not clean the floors here. My brother has been in the ICU and we had to bring our own cleaning supplies and clean the bathroom. My brother is also in a ton of pain tonight because somehow even though we asked about it so many times and signed a waiver, paperwork got mixed up and his nerve block didn’t happen after surgery. He’s crazily enough allergic to dilauded and morphine. They took the drip away. We’ve had a nurse not give him pain meds for 6 whole hours before because his chart wasn’t updated to change from as needed to every 3 hours. We have to basically make sure everything that needs done gets done because it’s not in his chart and it’s ridiculous. This is the best we’ve got and there’s not a reliable way to notate his file to prevent such egregious miscommunication? Really? It’s ghetto. The systems this place has, are failing their patients and contributing to their discomfort and pain. At this point we’d prefer transferring to doctors west. Never had these issues there. But transferring right now is impossible. *Also just love the copy and pasted response below. Real heartfelt. No thanks. Also his pain has been above 10 and he’s been delusional from the pain awake all night because of the mixed paperwork. We hate it here.

This hospital is by far the worst major hospital I have ever seen! My disabled nephew was brought up there by emergency squad for a kidney obstruction and he waited in the hallway of the emergency room for over 12 hours. After he had a procedure in surgery they put him back down in the emergency room once he left recovery because there weren't any rooms. I currently have an aunt and uncle that are in their late 70s they've been waiting in the emergency room waiting room for over six hours after he was told that he could not be transferred from OSU East for a lung condition. He has lost over 40 pounds however his doctor said they would not do transfers from OSU East and he has to have his procedure at OSU Main. I will never ever ever go to this hospital to have anything done!

Had fibroid removal surgery at this hospital and went into kidney failure and was told that I have aHus. I’ve never had an issue with my kidneys before. I’ve had worsening health issues ever since. Now I’m in daily pain and no matter where I go Drs don’t seem to treat my issues or listen to my concerns. Finally I found out why… I was entered into a study (without my knowledge) called the M11 001 non interventional research study via a Dr Cataland and someplace called WCG irb. Now they’re pointing fingers at each other saying that each other has my records and all that they did was “watch” and that they never contacted my other doctors or intervened in my medical care. But they said that they will keep my records and information gained from the study that I never knew about. The study doesn’t even show up on MyChart. If they honestly do not have contact with my other doctors, not associated with OSU then why is there a note at my clinic with Dr Cataland discussing my death?? Dr Cataland’s nurse G. Maco falsified records for an appointment that I had scheduled with her and that I did attend, along with a guest. But she didn’t attend, I was made to believe that the person in the visit was her and the next day deplorable notes was entered into MyChart by nurse Maco about me and my guest when I realized that I never even met nurse Maco by her picture. That’s when I was finally told that it wasn’t nurse Maco that we saw the previous day, even though Maco entered the notes in first person. The person that was in the room wasn’t even a nurse, nor a doctor at all. I’m still fighting for my life as my condition worsens and my every day is extreme pain. There’s more I and my family can say but I’m saying all this while in pain and have to stop. I don’t know if this will be posted but if it is PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL regardless of your race, ethnicity, religion etc. STAY AWAY and maybe you can save your life and spare your family what we’ve been through and are still going through.

I strongly recommended you go to any hospital on the planet other than this one. What was once was a great hospital has ceased to be a functioning hospital emergency room and hospital. I went there on not a busy night saw a medical system in a state of collapse. I was referred and they called ahead from another hospital in their system and they informed me it would be15 hours before they could see me and the other hospital thought I had a stroke. They stuffed serious ill people in a small room to wait. I was watching 2 people who looked like they were about fade away. A third world hospital will provide better care for you. The hospital staff informed me it might be better I go elsewhere so nothing serious happens while I wait .which had been 9 hours at that time

Well Im a honest man and I would not recommend this dam facility and especially Dr. Webber little baby talk If I ever have to look again I would definitely throw up and I don't want to get sick. You know they for many many years kept me on Headache medicine and because I would ask for it or need it sooner and I'm to blame no I don't hardly think so. You were the Doctors with the pen in your hand happy to write out the prescriptions. Well Im happy to report a have a wonderful new neurologist who is everything they are not kind caring and friendly and yes I have my medicine back and they don't even want your medical records so who lost In the end not me because I'm the winner in this game you decided to play and hey it's really just my very very very honest opinion and I will stick by it no matter what Amen 👏

Not the place to go if you have any concerns for mental health needs. The staff are very abrasive and clearly don’t have the slightest amount of education on trauma informed care or working with folks who have emotional needs and concerns. There’s nothing worse than coming to a hospital and getting confronted by nursing staff that clearly dislike their jobs. This is why people don’t want to go to hospitals anymore. Poor morale, poor attitudes, poor experience. Respect and compassion goes a long way in healthcare, y’all need a few doses of each. I gave 2 stars because things were surprisingly fast. But I know that’s a toss up most days. Would not recommend. Better hospitals in Columbus by far.

Seems like some people at this place needs to learn how to listen to their patients. The first appointment I had with them was so terrible that I had to fire the doctor on the first visit. Wouldn’t even look at the camera to introduce herself, didn’t send the right meds. Went to a second appointment, they talked about getting a new insulin pump and sensor for me. They said I would have to take a class on the new pump, which would be fine to learn about the new pump. I explain to them I didn’t want a diabetic class talking about counting carbs I’ve done multiple classes on it and understood how all that worked. They said, no it will be about the pump it’s self. Wasted a hour fifteenth minute drive and the time spent in the class to learn absolutely nothing about the new pump. Even told them that I was there to learn about the pump. Told me that’s another class. I explained that I already had this conversation with the nurse the appointment before, and was promised. I even told them at the appointment before that, that they didn’t listen the last time to the point of firing their doctor. I received the pump and told them once again that I need a class for “just the pump and sensor!” They now are telling me I can’t get into a class until the 30th. I explained to them the whole reason we had the first appointment was so I to get this sensor running so I have one that beeps if my sugar is getting low that way I don’t die in my sleep. This could have been taken care of multiple appointments/attempts before. They are wasting my time. Go back to medical school and take an anatomy class, because they can’t seem to find their own butts with their own two hands. Why had our medical professionals turn to absolute trash? Again try listening to your patients, this is ridiculous 😡. These people screw up everything, if I could put a -star I would. Don’t go absolute trash

I have attempted to go to various OSU specialists and been hospitalized there. Each time I go to an OSU facility for an appointment or am hospitalized, I have been dismissed. They follow the safest directive, and don't seem to look any deeper than surface level. Go to a PC, get referred to specialists. Go to the specialist, and you're told exactly what the PC told you, and no further testing is done. The most recent hospitalization I had, I was not given any treatment or advice besides things I had already done outside of the hospital. Impersonal, impractical, and non-investigative. Try a different hospital if you want care, go to this one if you want to be continually redirected.

Ya want a worthlessly funded hospital, here's one for you. It's August 26th, 2020. 6:44pm. My pregnant girlfriends been bleeding and clotting since we got here at 2pm. It's almost 7 and she just got blood work and ultrasound done that's absolutely embarrassing to know the life of a tiny one could be on the line and they take their precious little time with something so sensitive. The bleeding has gotten worse as she sits and waits and was told she may be waiting till 10pm to find out more. Absolutely thank you osu, I seriously just hope nothing happens to my child.

My son was in a head on crash Christmas Eve 2019 and had 32 broken bones. So happy all these people at this facility took care of him, ICU staff is amazing, and surgical staff. He is doing rehab at a nursing facility now but with numerous trips back to Wexner he still loves to entrust his care to them. God bless and thank you all for taking such good care of him.

Poor service some of the nurses that I was assigned. Claimed they were "so busy" but yet I could see them chatting in the hallways and walking as slow as humanly possible. Other members of the staff were friendly but the ER nurses had a snobby attitude toward them. If you don't like your current position then go back to school and become a nurse practioner. You're an ER nurse, you knew what this job would entail.

This new facility in New Albany contains a wide range of doctors. However the layout of the facility is very unfriendly. First it is a long distance from handicap parking to main entrance. Then from main entrance you walk 3/4 of the way across the lobby to get to registration. Then it’s from registration the full length of the lobby and down the long hallway. I find this very unfriendly as I have some mobility issues. I did not bring anyone along with me because I had no idea so much walking would be involved. I was going to see a pain doctor!! I’ve never had this trouble at any other facility. Please do a better job on the floor plan for the Dublin building.

Do not go here if you need female care. The head of gynecology blatantly removed & censored female anatomy for decades. This facility was run and operated by someone in the literal dark ages, Steven Gabbe. He wrote 15 textbooks that all censored female anatomy, erasing female genitalia and leading to many doctors lacking basic knowledge about the female body. It’s a no from me dog.

I feel swindled by the care in this network. I couldn’t get into a primary care physician for 6 months and needed a mammogram. They advised me to go to a same day outpatient location to receive care. Upon examination, the NP told me she couldn’t find anything concerning but recommended I get both a mammogram and ultrasound “just in case.” I pushed back saying I will wait to get my yearly screening if she didn’t find anything. Again, the NP pushed me to get a mammogram, so I conceded but contested the ultrasound. She insisted and told me that once I got there, if the mammogram didn’t show anything, they would cancel the ultrasound. Once I received the mammogram, the clinician didn’t find anything so I asked again not to get the ultrasound, but she insisted. They billed this all as diagnostic instead of routine screening, so I am now stuck with a $1500 bill, with insurance. These practitioners pushed services at every step to make OSU money. I called billing to tell them it shouldn’t have been billed as diagnostic because she didn’t find anything in the physical exam and I kept saying I would wait for my screening. But billing wouldn’t budge and simply advised me to apply for financial aid. What a bunch of crooks. The profit mongering in our health care systems is nauseating.

Just received a call from this Medical center from a Doctor to a patient stating confidential patient information to me. I am NOT the patient. I DO NOT live in Ohio... Keep your patient's information up to date because I have had my phone number for 4 years. Also, learn to check the phone number you have dialed. I accidentally listened to information that violates HIPAA law from Dr. Raj Paul....

I have been a patient of the James for several years now. I have had an amazing experience with them. the issue I'm having is that every time my wife or I go to the lab to get lab work done, they ask us what needs to be done and then runs every stinking test on the list even though we only need certain ones. this costs extra money and is a waste of time since we have to come back and have it run again when its needed. I have tried calling the lab, tried calling the operator and asking for a supervisor and I cant get any help. I have turned to social media since it seems that's the only place that anyone cares about anymore. I have choices but it seems that Wexner is so big and so busy they don't care anymore.

It is a load of b.s. my Mom is there. She got taken there by an ambulance Thursday evening. On my way there, the er doctor called me to ask me what kind of medication she was on. I wasn't sure. I found out the medication they were asking about after calling my Aunt. I go into the ER entrance and they were going to have me wait. After about 20 minutes I went over and told them about the question that was asked to me and the information that I had. They finally told how to get to where she was. Now yesterday I received 2 different calls about her. The second one called me on my way there. I answered the questions. I get to the main hospital I go to the desk and they couldn't find her. They told me to go back to the er where she came in. I walked all the way to the er entrance. They looked in the computer and they told me she got moved to the Brain and Spine Wing. I walk all the way back to Brain and Spine wing. Talk to someone who was really trying to help. They couldn't find her. They told me if a squad brings in someone who really isn't that responsive they give them a code name. She told me the code name. I go up to the floor she is on and they couldn't find her. It took several minutes of digging to finally to get her room number. Now just about 10 to 15 minutes ago I tried calling to get connected through her rooms phone number. I told the very rude operator her name and he said that she isn't in the system. I tried the code name and he said he couldn't find it. It really sounded like he didn't want to help me find her. The customer service needs to get better. So how long does it take for information to be updated?? She has been there since Thursday evening and her name isn't updated yet? This really makes me not want to come back to OSU main again. Update to this review: A few days after I wrote this I was visiting my Mom to find what was going to happen next. A nurse came in to take her blood pressure. The blood pressure cuff was squeezing too tight. My Mom told the nurse taking her blood pressure that it was hurting. Now this nurse said to my Mom oh getting your blood pressure taken doesn't hurt. After that my Mom checked herself out of the hospital. So especially after that I will not go to OSU Main hospital.

Front desk staff was friendly, Dr. James Borchers was very informative and really cared for my injury. I went to him for a second opinion and really happy I did. His team was also amazing, after my MRI his assistant called me and went out of her way to find me a doctor in Colorado where I live. Highly recommend this location and team!

The 24/7 assistance was very helpful! Arriving their after 8pm to visit two parishioners, the front desk staff was courteous and hospitable. Their directions sent me in the right direction the first time. Arriving at the patient’s the nursing staff was equally as kind and attentive to their responsibilities. As a clergy in the community, the staff made my visit to two parishioners that much better!

The worst ED ever. No empathy for the patients and family members. I went with my father for a chest pain that’s getting worse due to aneurysm. A triage nurse who didn’t even introduce herself to the patient/family and her charge nurse were rude. They didn’t let the family member stay for a patient who couldn’t speak for himself. We decided to leave. But that heartless charge nurse as well as a lady sitting at check-in desk sent us outside in this cold freezing weather to wait for a ride. I had never seen these kind of nurses and medical staff. Shame on you calling yourself a healthcare hero.. I pray to god to never be a nurse like you!!

I mean it's never fun having to go to the emergency room, but the doctors and whole team provide amazing care. Stay patient as we are 1 of ____ but they approach their care indivualistically. The observationnbays aren't bad either with a bed you can control, a TV, and if you stay overnight, a mask and ear plugs.

The staff were all good people, just overloaded like every ER is now. You can have a bad experience or a good one depending on your attitude and need. If you have a real emergency and can go somewhere better, do. If you hope to be admitted for treatment and stay the max time allowed by your insurance, you will find good nurses and doctors here. Remember you will be a patient, not a guest. Have someone bring you food and necessaries.

I recently heard a story of how OSU told an older man they couldn’t perform a procedure concerning a colostomy bag for him. The older man had Medicaid. He later went to Riverside and they had no issue performing the same procedure. That’s genocidal and criminal. This place needs to be thoroughly investigated.

I called to tell them the nx morning his wishes only to find out they woke him at 5am and went ahead and performed the procedure which gave him a massive stroke. Three attempts to get the surgeon Dr. Youssef to explain what happened , zero communication . They also lost all my fathers cloths , shoes, house keys . I spoke with six people about his lost items, "zero " response .This is the treatment he got from the university that trained him . Never again.

My mother had a spinal surgery done at the hospital. Thankfully the surgery went well. I am very happy so far with the outcome for her even though there is still pain which is normal because she is only post surgery 3 days. Though I can say I am pleased with the surgeon I am so upset at the nurses on the joint and spine surgery unit. They were very rude her the entire stay. They made her wait for hours for her food and pain medication. Then when she called to remind them about her meds they would tell her that they were late because her nurse went on lunch. She had a serious surgery!!! HER medication should be a priority!! They also FORGOT to give her the potassium vitamin that she NEEDS. That is so serious and could have killed her!!! To top it off, being uncomfortable and in pain because people are not doing their jobs, she asked for a pillow and they gave her a ripped piece of foam from an old pillow instead of just giving her one!! WHAT IS THAT?!?! It is UNACCEPTABLE!! I am beyond irate on how my mother has been treated.

My daughter was was burned in a cooking accident and was sent to Wexner from Fairfield Medical Center. She was transferred in a wet bathing suit and taken from the gurney and set in the waiting area with no direction. The staff was rude and uncaring when we inquired. Actually that’s unfair the man at the desk on July 11 at 2am was rude when just asked simple questions. She had to wait in the waiting room (which was filthy by the way) with open wounds, around 4:30-5 am they moved her to a bed in the hallway with full lights on by a desk. Finally around 7:30 am she was discharged with 0 care to speak of, of you are being referred to OSU….STOP THEM!! Advocate for your self or your loved one and have them send you somewhere else!!

Worst hospital ever. The staff is uncaring and just there for a pay check. They will give you a appointment and still not see you for two hours. The obgyn clinic is a joke. First appointment sat there for two hours. It took them 6 months to reschedule it. Now I'm standing in the hallway waiting for a supervisor to come talk to me still standing after 25 minutes with no one answering why I'm not being seen. Nurse came in 2 times saying the doctor will get to me no doctor yet. I then wrote this whole book. Nurse walking up talking about he ready now that I asked to file formal complaint. If you can go to another hospital cause I love they football team but they hospital is a joke.. was suppose to have an urgent mri they scheduled it out for four months from now. I guess that real urgent. Oh did I forget they liers here they will give you a number and it's for one thing but it's a dead number how do you make a complaint in this place.

The staff is wee trained and friendly, but the food service company shows little regard for accuracy. I have never received a correct food request. The ticket that accompanies the meal confirms that I ordered correctly, but there are always items missing. Management practices need to be monitored and appropriate changes made. Seems that profit (and not patients) is the driving force here.

I was having a diabetic episode and went to this emergency room for treatment. In 14 hours, they drew two tubes of blood and gave me two aspirin - when I objected to their quack treatment and the wait, they sent a $1,400 bill to the Ohio State Attorney General saying that I was a deadbeat "non-pay" (I had full medical coverage but they never billed me or the insurance company). Consequently, my annual Ohio Income Tax refund has been forfeit and seized by the state every year. These quacks do this BECAUSE THEY CAN!!! I witnessed the staff ordering food every 3 hours and playing around in the hall while an emergency surgical patient (blood clots in his feet) sat in a wheelchair for 7 hours next to us. A woman collapsed at the cable company and was brought in by ambulance - she was made to sit up in a chair for 9 hours, but kept falling on the floor...

Basically got a botched nose job here. I had a severely deviated septum and also paid on top to shave down a bump on my nose (I was 15 at the time I’m 22 now). While they did shave down the bump basically half way, my septum is still deviated and therefore my nose is crooked. The swelling after was also insane. I’m aware there is down time to a nose procedure but my nose swelled 10x more than what was considered normal. I feel like I really got taken advantage of because my family paid $4000 on top of what the insurance covered just for a cosmetic addition as well and 2 hours before the procedure is when we were told that the bump would only be shaved half way. I mean it would be nice if they would have atleast fixed my issues breathing through my nose.

If your doctor name is Amy Blecher or Sophia Tolliver - drop them before you end up losing your life or even your mind . They will not listen or consider your concerns . I was so kind but they took advantage of that & kept ignoring my concerns while dismissing my symptoms . I was constantly prescribed medications that I did not need which actually made me suicidal ... if it wasn’t for me doing research and calling other doctors for advice . I , most likely, would not be here today. If your anything like me and hate arguing or confrontation - just move on & find a new doctor. Not worth the drama or the risks.

On 11/6/2020 my wife had a 8:30am appointment. We arrived at 8:27am, got checked in. Went to the waiting room. At 8:45am I checked back with the receptionist to see how much longer it would be. I checked back again at 9:06am and she went back to ask the physician. She returned stating that they would be ready for my wife in a few minutes. (9:15). when she lead us into the room where the doctor was sitting at the computer with his trainee. He did not even acknowledge that we had come into the room.My wife and I were whispering to each other, when the physician turn and said that “he was on her chart and that we needed to be quit. His tone was not nice, as if we were inconveniencing him. My wife and I are both in our fifties, this was rude and insulting to be talked to this way. We are both African American and this physician, Dr. David Hirsh, MD is white. we were only there to have him review the results of a MIR test she had the previous week. Needless to say, we both got up and walked out of the building. No one deserves to be treated like that. I will be notifying my BCBS insurance to not pay any bill from this visit, since we did not receive any medical service and I will be seeking reimbursement of my $40.00 co-pay that they took when we walked in the door before any service was rendered.

My father in law was transported from a local hospital that was 2 hours away from OSU Medical Center for neurological surgery due to a stroke. We have been in the OSU emergency room for 6 hours now for this reportedly “serious” medical issue and have received little communication other than to have the nurses say they are the last to know. My father in law is very uncomfortable and has not been allowed to eat presumably due to the looming prospect of surgery. While I understand that, I would think the staff would do what they need to in order to expedite what we were told was a STAT MRI so they could plan his care and provide comfort. The STAT test has still not been read despite it being completed a couple of hours ago. We have asked for a chair, for food, for a room, for SOMETHING to assist with comfort and have yet to get anything only to be told other hospitals may see this as a crisis but this is what OSU sees everyday ... translated you’re condition is really not that big of a deal despite what you were told! And, we were also told that they do not have the equipment in the ER to assist him in sitting up in a chair (due to him not having much control over his left side because of the stroke), that he would need to continue laying in the bed like he has been for literally HOURS, and that other families have had to wait over 24 hours to get into a room!! He just wants to be able to sit in a chair, eat, and feel some relief. The treatment we’ve received seems a little inhumane to me. I actually do feel somewhat bad for the nursing staff because it really does seem like they’re the last to know...well of course with the exception of the patient and the family. Very disappointing care for what I thought was a leading university medical center.

My sister’s doctor wrote her a prescription for the mono infusion. The doctor overseeing the infusions went to my sister’s chart and wrote that after speaking with my sister, she decided she did not qualify for the I fusion. That would be fine IF she really spoke to my sister. This doctor over the infusion system NEVER spoke to my sister. So I guess she never even took into account the medical conditions that my sisters doctor knows she has and the reason why her personal physician wrote the original prescription for her. My sister wrote a comment on her chart after seeing that she had been denied. Then this mono infusion doctor went into her chart and deleted her comments. It is no wonder that people are having so much trouble trusting the medical profession at this time when they lie so easily about COVID.

I am not rating services, which are excellent. What I am rating is contact call backs. No matter what department, they call you for information at inopportune times. Then they say call us back at whatever number so we can speak to you about whatever it is. You call that number, during business hours and there is no one to take your call. Doesn't matter when you call they say leave a message and we will get back to you. Sorry, some people can't answer the phone at any random time they decide to return your call. This happens to me every single time, no matter what the department is. I have tried calling every 15 minutes across the day and still am unlikely to get a person. Or even automated information, beyond leave a message that we will get back to you.

The HR payroll and management of EVP department deserve 10 thumbs down. They have been 100% unprofessional and in violation of quite a few civil rights and payroll procedures and laws and privacy along with discrimination. Little people shouldn't have to be treated like slaves and that's exactly how they treat you they don't care about your well-being. I've had to contact multiple government agencies just in order to get a paycheck that has been due to me since February. They have violated so many policies and laws that at this point I'm not sure what exactly to do besides wait for the DOL and EEOC to talk to talk to my lawyer about the next step.I do recommend that they completely redo their human resources and get all of those ghetto acting people out of there they are not professional they are not treating their position with any sort of standard or prestige that says they are there and care for you.

We are from Columbus, but moved away. We are here visiting for the holidays and my daughter needed immediate medical care. Excellent experience on all levels of care. Great Job OSU!! OH-

I am giving this one star simply because giving zero isn't an option. I have been to this hospital with my girlfriend on multiple occasions now and each time has been a mess. The most current visit being right now... It has taken over three days for her to get admitted into a real room from the ER. She was here for a total of 8 hours in a bed without receiving pain medications when she was here for a migraine. She has since been give TYLENOL for the past 2 days... good thing we didn't just take her to CVS instead! She was left without an active nurse last night and is getting ready to spend her second night in the ER. The least of our worries is that she can't even fit in the bed and she is 5 foot 4- but thought it should mention it anyways. I would recommend going to Riverside or your local over the counter pharmacy instead.

I’ve been here for a whole 8 hours due to possible miscarriage (which is exactly what happened) . Asked for pain medication , nurses/doctors see me crying in pain NO HELP . All this visit was today was an ultrasound and boom I’m done THATS WHAT TOOK 8 hours . I will NEVER come back here. They suck. Time for me to go ask for medicine again (second time) which was “put in” but some how someone “canceled it” so I’m leaving with no medicine still in pain 8 hours for an ultrasound

😠 I’ve been to Riverside 3 times in less than a year, each time to accompany a sick relative. Avoid this hospital at all costs, go to Ohio State. The staff seems not concerned with the patients whatsoever, you’re treated like a burdensome file and not a human being. If you speak up nurses get annoyed...

😠 Tuesday, July 26, 2022, I was admitted to St Francis Hospital. I was placed in the emergency room for 12 hours in filth. When I was admitted at 7:46 AM, the admitting RN had mopped the waiting room and triage room because housekeeping did not show up for work Monday night. The urinals were never emp...

😠 My first and hopefully last visit here! It's now 03:35 on 28MAR22 and as I enter the ER entrance I find the check-in nurse sleeping and a janitor and security guard sitting beside her with their faces buried in their phones. I walk past them and into a waiting room area where another nurse snaps at...
