👍👍 I'm 67 years old and this is the finest hospital l ever been to. The care one receives here from hospital personal is impressive. The facility is clean and well kept. The rooms are spacious. The food is excellent. If God had a refrigerator, a picture of this hospital would be on the door. When it's... People often mention hospital, staff, care, Carmel, time, nurse, room, nurses, surgery, hours,

The food is excellent. If God had a refrigerator, a picture of this hospital would be on the door. When it's my turn to kick the bucket, ( you have to bring your own bucket. They don't sell them at the gift shop ) This is the hospital where I want to be. To everyone at Mount Carmel, I sincerely thank you. God bless you all. Good job. 😊

I went in for some problems that developed after surgery. Nothing related to the surgery just my body is having a hard time healing. My surgeon suggested I go since it was the weekend. I was dehydrated and they pretty much left me laying in a room for 3 hours. My nurse didn’t come in for 2 hours after I gave my urine sample to collect it. She said no one told her. ER doctors were nice but the two nurses I dealt with were very cold and rude. Will go to Ohio Health grove city for emergency care if ever needed again.

I can honestly say this is the best staff around. I just had my baby here and you have never seen such beautiful souls💛 Doctor Benitez is the route to go if you want a gentle, kind, and uplifting doctor! HE IS THE BEST!!! Nurse Drew might be the best nurse you could EVER ask for! Seriously I have never seen such a servants heart:)) And Makia and Emily over at Postpartum are the sweetest. You could seriously list every staff here. 10 out of 10 would recommend this hospital to anyone💛☺️

They are horrible, i was put in a room where i was very uncomfortable the whole time. They didn3y do anything for the pain, all i need was a arm sling and anti inflammatory medication and it took them 3 hours for that.

I'd give 0 if I could. A family member went there today and because hes a recovering addict they told him to take Ibuprofen and sent him on his way. Severe leg pain trouble walking. Did they check for infection no. He wasn't looking for pain meds just help. He also may be anemic and told them and they discarded the information. Next time he will go to Ohio Health. Dont waste your time with them. They weren't even busy, just didnt want to deal with an addict and see if maybe so something was really wrong, and there is! Worthless should be shut down.

The worst Place I've ever been. First off there's no way possible to see the address when you pull in because the trees are blocking it but you sure can see big #1 and big #2. I go to park only to find out there's rows and rows of empty handicapped parking spots. It looked like an abandoned drive-in theater. I had to park way in the back. I forgot to mention it's almost 100 degrees out today. IT was at least a 1/4 mile walk to the building where I had to wait in line at the door. This was the first time I'm told I had to go out and two buildings to the right is where I need to go. I hike back to my car in the sweltering heat made worse by the concrete parking lot. I drive the two doors to the right. This time I had to park even further away from the building. I'm pouring in sweat by the time I finally get to the door. This time I'm told I'm in the wrong building again and I have to go out turn left and its two doors down in another building. That's exactly where I just came from. This time I did see the little 5300 numbers behind the over grown trees. After a half an hour and no one there knew where to get an x-ray I left. I had to schedule my time off at work and thanks to these clowns it will probably be a few more weeks before I can schedule time off for an x-ray with a more reputable office. Screw this place.

Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is horrible, I have never ever been to a hospital that is so careless of the patients!! I arrived at 11:00 to be seen with severe pain waited 4 hours to go back then 2 hours pass still have not been seen by a doctor so I decided to leave not once did the nurse check in on me in those tel hours! I heard the ladies techs, nurses laughing talking about patients it was so unreal how this place is being ran I told my husband they all would be fired this is not how you run a hospital. Katie was my nurse she was extremely lazy didn’t even want to answer the call light. Don’t come here

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with their ER staff and the doctors and nurses after being admitted. If you use the ER for what it’s for, it’s great. Don’t go here if you have a cold because your not going to like the care you get. Keep your one star review to yourself and go to urgent care.

Normally have no problem. But today I am not happy at all. Got back in to room 3 with my husband who is being seen. Techs were good and got him ready. The Dr came in and did his check. Still no nurse had come in. Around 9:30 am dr came back and ask him if he got his 2nd dose of nausea medicine. My husband said no. Dr said did they have an IV started. He did no. The Dr was not happy left and 10 minutes later finally got the IV AND nausea medicine. Still here no one saying anything. Update: doing better

Love the hospital and staff, everyone is taking such great care of my dad. However the security is ridiculous they think they are guarding Fort Knox. They obviously enjoy being rude and authoritative for no given reason. I was not even going into emergency just to the main part of the hospital at 6pm on a Saturday evening. They should learn to be kind and not just trying to make themselves feel like a boss.

I wish that I could give them ZERO stars. My mother in law was recently taken to Mt. Carmel after she suffered a cardiac arrest. Due to the reputation, we did request a different hospital. Because of the critical situation, EMS said they had to take her to the nearest hospital. Of course, they wanted insurance information in the emergency room, but the only information that we has was her Medicare information. Her husband was bringing her supplement information. Mind you -- she suffered a cardiac arrest. EMS had to shock her heart more than once and performed chest compressions the entire way to the hospital. She was ventilated and she was non-responsive. Less than 3 hours later, she was admitted to the ICU. She was ventilated and non-responsive. The billing department called her ICU room while the nurses were still setting up equipment and DEMANDED her insurance information. When her son explained the situation and that they would have the information shortly, the representative still demanded the information. Frankly, I was concerned whether she would receive the needed life-sustaining care because of delays in getting them the insurance information. Less than an hour later we did provide them the information. We then had to involve a supervising physician and nursing supervisor twice because of issues with an ICU charge nurse. Thank goodness, our family member did survive. Mt. Carmel set up follow up appointments with their own physician. We learned our lesson though and have set up an appointment with another provider and cancelled follow up with Mt. Carmel. We wish that we had transferred her to another hospital as soon as she was stable. The chaplains were wonderful and we had several great nurses. HOWEVER, the bad experiences outweigh the good. When you try to contact someone at their management level to address problems, you get voice mail and you then wait at least a day for a call back. They are NOT HELPFUL.

My doctor is amazing however, the hospital billing department is terrible. I'm not understanding why it is so difficult for them to bill my insurance company the correct way. They continue to bill my secondary insurance for the whole hospital stay when I told them they would not cover it unless it was itemized. Of course my insurance denies the claim because my insurance was not effective until the day after arriving to the hospital. I have spoken and worked with the same woman and evidently she could care less because its not her credit being affected by this. The last update I have received is that I need to call my insurance company because they are too lazy to break down the bill. Apparently they said that my insurance company is now willing to separate the bill themselves which is a LIE. I originally spoke with my insurance company and they told me they were unable to do this and it needs to be sent in correctly. DO BETTER.

My 90 year old father was admitted with Covid 3 weeks ago. He’s since been released to rehab to regain his strength. The ICU and step down unit staff were wonderful. My mom received at least 1-3 calls a day from the nurses and drs with updates on my dads condition. We’re extremely pleased with the care he received at Mt Carmel Grove City.

I had back surgery at Mt Carmel Grove City and I think this was by far the best care I have ever received at a hospital. From the surgery team, Dr. Hanallah, and anesthesiologists before and during surgery to the nurses, techs, therapists and other hospital staff, they were all amazing. Very attentive, caring staff and a beautiful facility. Great team work and patient focus. Thanks for making my stay the best it could be after surgery!

I came in because my throat was closing up & I couldn’t breathe. They did everything in their power to open my throat and get my glands to come down from being inflamed. Nurse Sharon, nurse Erin, an older black lady (sorry I forgot her name)... and the younger black doctor ( Very handsome guy, very helpful and understanding, I forgot his name as well)... but the staff I encountered worked the 5th floor on the evening of June 30th. They were amazing. Thanks for your help. Not to mention, the facility is gorgeous!!! Large campus, so it is easy to get lost, turned around and confused. But it’s gorgeous and well kept. Movie selection is great. More modernize with the ordering food (great selections). Rooms are spacious which is great. I hate cramped rooms when family comes to visit. Anyway, thanks for everything! Had a great experience. And I also enjoyed a BEAUTIFUL sunrise

Called medical records to request a copy of my medical record. After identified my name and date of procedure the representative asked the same questions, then in the middle of my conversation she ended the call. This to me was very disrespectful and unprofessional.

My daughter had surgery at Mt Carmel and she was admitted to the 3rd maternity floor and she had an exceptional nurse name "Dawn." Dawn worked 7a- 7pm She was very patient and hospitable. She explained everything to my daughter in a way she would understand. She took exceptional care of my daughter. If I could she would be nurse of the year. I usually stay with my daughter to monitor her care but if I would have known what I knew now I would have went home and left my daughter safely in Dawn's care. I didn't let Dawn know I was a retired nurse until my daughter was being discharged. So I know that the way she treated my daughter was genuine. Thank you Dawn for all that you do.

I had a GREAT experience in the maternity ward & NICU. 90% of the staff went above & beyond my expectations.***THANK YOU to the staff, ESPECIALLY OUR NURSE JENNA (w/DRK.HAIR) in labor & delivery/NICU. She has been the absolute best. I could have picked a better nurse for me & my lil man. She has been so helpful, caring & considerate throughout this whole experience. IDK what I would have done w/out her!!!

I am really shocked and upset by the poor care I received at this brand new hospital. The triage nurse didn’t listen to me AT ALL and the ER doc literally laughed at me and treated me like a child. (I’m 39) I almost never seek medical treatment for anything but the concern that brought me in was something that put me in a hospital for 7 days and almost killed me last time so it wasn’t as if I hadn’t had experience with it before. I expected to be treated with at least some level of concern but was instead dismissed after being administered a headache drug. I was told I did not have an infection even tho no test was done. When I woke up at home hours later I was shaking, fevering, and drenched in sweat and taking leftover antibiotics to treat myself. This will be the most I’ve ever paid to be laughed at.

This is one of the worst hospital I have ever let my mother stay in. Yes the building is really nice and that’s because it’s new but the staff here are really bad my mother was fall risk and had to use the restroom and I’m not kidding we had the light on for the nurse to come for 20 mins it took me to walk down the hall to find someone to come get her. Also she needed someone to wipe her and one of the nurses asked well how do you wipe at home can’t you do it here. There is no bed said manner anymore and this hospital just shows it also the main entrance off the hospital closes super early you have to walk all the way down to the ER just to get let in like the main entrance should be the one to always stay open. Mount Carmel get your staff together before this hospital gets shut down to.

Dont waste your time coming here, they will waste it for you for hours and hours. Moms doctor sent her here for a cat scan, an emergency cat scan of her brain. Came in at 530-6pm, cat scan happened about 10pm. They came out to the lobby to take vitals in the lobby, did for several people. This practice alone seem sus, skip HIPAA maybe? Vitals were there for all to see. Now she is in a room, triage room, 1245a and still no response about cat scan. Hopefully this is editable for update later. Stay away!

Their nearby urgent care sent me here a couple months ago. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and I was seen quickly. The downside is that I wasn't ready for such an insane bill. After getting it itemized it appears that they charge about $7-800/hr (independently of everything else) to sit on a bed and wait for the next step. I can only assume that's what the 'emergency room-general' was because they wouldn't elaborate on that part of the bill.

I am 26 weeks pregnant & fell down steps. I came in because I needed to make sure my baby was okay myself, never once did they listen to my baby or check my baby out. More worried about a bad batch of meth. The nurse was cussing and just truly unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

The 6th floor nursing staff has horrible customer service and very rude. My son had been hospitalized with double pneumonia. Upon discharge they were to call his antibiotics into the pharmacy. At 8:15pm the pharmacy still hadn’t received it. I started calling the hospital at 8:20pm. I called several times before getting to talk with a nurse that I thought would help. She told me the medication had not been called in and the doctor would need to be contacted. She seemed very rude and grouchy with me because THEY forgot to call his medication in and I was asking for help. It’s now 9pm, all the pharmacy’s are closed. She ended up telling me to call back tomorrow to have the antibiotic called in. She said he’s had one dose early today, he’ll be fine until tomorrow. If it hadn’t taken them 40 minutes to answer a call we would have got the medication called in. Maybe a unit clerk would be helpful to answer calls.

Regret having our baby here. The ONLY positive thing I have to say is that nurse Payton should have a massive photo of her hung at the main entrance and that everyone take notes from her (doctors included). Also, cooking staff should be ashamed for serving poorly cooked food to mothers or anyone for that matter whose a patient here. How does someone make veggies look cooked but they’re completely raw still? Every time too. It wasn’t just a one time mistake over our 7 day stay in prison…oops, I mean Mount Carmel grove city*

Let me start this off by saying if you want a typical hospital birth, you'll be fine here. People are nice, space is clean. However, if you don't have traditional insurance the billing department is a nightmare because you get bills from so many different areas and none are connected or communicate with each other, my sweet husband handles all of that side and has spent so many hours on the phone. Also in general the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, there is no communication and everything is assumed someone else does it. On the actual physical side of things they claim to be a lot more "natural" than they really are. They use a lot of "Ill let you" or "I can't let you" language unnecessarily, and their Dr residents are very prideful and not helpful or attentive to anything you're saying. The nurses are nice. but all around don't hold us their promises, we were told we would be ready to leave at 9am and didn't actually get to leave until 4pm, so that was frustrating too. Overall I didn't get the birth I wanted and had many extra complications because of the lack of support and the demands they unnecessarily placed on me. Next pregnancy I'm definitely going somewhere else.

Simply do not go here. Their billing department is completely unorganized and they just keep finding things to bill you for, don't send out bills in a timely manner, harass you via phone call to make payments months later when I had attempted to pay everything off, and send things to collections because they forgot to tell you about things that you owed on those millions of harassing phone calls. Then I try to call billing and I can't get through to anyone. They transfer you to business billing or something like that where they cannot help you and so I was told I just have to keep trying to call them back (billing department) until I get someone rather than just staying on hold or doing a call back. Waste. Of. Time.

They must have been Angels on assignment. I give all the staff from Security, Nurses, Attendants, Doctor’s, Anesthesiologist, Surgeons, everyone on duty the dates of 4/20 & 4/22. From the day my family member registered into the ER the staff was sooo amazing. The Security was friendly while doing their job. Beyond them, they treated my family member with great care, empathy and respect. Not only did they well inform my family member step by step what to expect, but also kept us as the related family informed as what was taking place and answers all our questions with patients and concern. They took their time, shared all options, possible risk, best to the worse. By the next day during my family member’s at home recovering, they had already scheduled their follow up appointment. I have never experienced such hands on care, concern and empathy from any Hospital Staff to this level ever!! Keep up the good work!! We appreciate it! Hats off to you Mt. Carmel Grove City.

I have been to Mount Carmel Grove City, for emergency care, in-patient including surgery, and for private services of medical specialists. I have found everything extremely caring and professional. The nursing staff is exemplary and all support staff kind and respectful. This is a great example of the culture that can be created when management and employees share a common mission. All appear to be very satisfied with their career and maintain a patient centered focus. The only exception to this is out of Mount Carmel's hands, the third-party residents appear poorly informed of the patients they are to serve. For example, I was told by my surgeon that I would have surgery the following morning. The resident came in and told me I was being discharged and the surgeon would be in touch with me to schedule surgery. I was confused and asked my nurse. She contacted the surgeon and found out the resident was wrong in his understanding. This was typical throughout my experience at Mount Carmel. Then I got a bill from the third-party residency group.... what an insult! A class A group as Mount Carmel deserves 5 stars. Too bad an outside agency brings them down!

I'm a licensed social worker who works in managed care. I visited one of my members yesterday who had been admitted to the hospital for COPD complications. The 6th floor medical staff were extremely rude and unfriendly. Never smiled. Never asked who I was there to see . Never made eye contact. Barely looked up when I asked them which way to proceed down the hallway . I feel terrible for the patients who have to deal with the nurses. Just think how they treat the sick patients. unbelievable!!!!! If you Hate your job, get a different one. You're not doing anyone any favors by being there !!!

My husband is a truck driver who became ill while on highway 71 near Columbus, OH. He went to Mount Carmel in Grove City and they determined he was having a heart attack. He was rushed in to the cardiac suite and then to floor 6. We live 100+ miles away and I called for directions and information. The operator Carolyn was kind, compassionate, and very patient with me. I had a bad signal driving in the hills and apologized. She told me her purpose was to help me and boy I needed to hear that! She guided me to the highway exit and even to go to the emergency room because the front doors were locked. The nurses and support staff (especially Janet) on floor 6 gave my husband great care and even grabbed my doordash order from the entrance. We are thankful for all of you.

Some of the staff is nice but no one seems to have any idea as to what’s going on, I was told to schedule a follow up appointment for lab work but nothing was actually explained to me about my condition or the next steps, when I tried to call they couldn’t book it, transferred me to the lab just to get transferred back. I would not recommend.

First I’d like to say I am only giving two stars because they sent my 86 year old mother to Mt Carmel East Trauma Center due to a fall. Grove City took her right in did the necessary imaging. I feel they should have kept her there Mt Carmel East made her lay in a bed in Emergency hallway for 12 hours. A Nurse Practitioner from Neurology come and asked a few questions and left. After 12 hours took her to her room I thought to stay for observation and therapy. 8 hours later they released her with back brace and it wasn’t even put on and made to fit her. Will never recommend Mt Carmel East and shame on Mt Carmel Grove City.

I need to start by thanking Mt Carmel for my mothers stellar care in the ICU and the step down the sitters and Dr. Keith and the other staff taking care of my mother. On the other note. My ex was terminated from the operating room for filming my 11 year old and was having an affair with his charge nurse for the past three years. Mt Carmel issued the statement that his actions did not reflect the ethics of Mt Carmel. When my mother had to have surgery I was a sobbing mess worried the woman who had the affair with him would be involved in her care. I was promised she was not. I believe them but heaven forbid if I was taken there and not able to speak for myself and needed surgery. As for the affair they seem to think this is part of their ethics. She retaliates against other nurses who disagree with her and her manager does nothing. I have spoken to leadership and I understand they can not share things with me that are sensitive. I requested they drug test her. (it never happened as far as I know) I know they were smoking marijuana and told him he was playing with fire. Mt Carmel has failed me in regards to their ethics and morals and integrity. Although outside of the operating room we have always received exceptional care their ethics seem leave a lot to be desired.

I have been here twice, first time was amazing. Had emergency gallbladder removal and was treated fairly well and taken care of, felt good, until my own surgeon scolded me for personal life choices. Not to my face, but to my boyfriend. Telling him everything about my condition, but not telling me. Sexist a bit? Probably, but even then I considered this a good hospital otherwise. The second time, was not so nice, staff was rude and careless, one of the nurses put a sieve in my arm and didn't attach it to anything, so blood starting spraying out of my arm, literally across the room. Luckily there was a more experienced nurse who rushed over and squeezed my arm to stop the blood flow until they could put the iv tube on. I'm considering going back now for liver pain and swelling, not sure if I should or not. Maybe it depends who's working and who's not. Either way, I wouldn't necessarily trust this hospital with my life. I would trust some of the staff, but definitely not all of them. Scary stuff, but I'm not sure what other hospitals I could go to that would be better. They all seem pretty messed up these days. I do applaud the staff members who are trying their very best, and I appreciate them dearly, especially with my health in such bad shape. Unfortunately, I do not think this applies to the majority of the staff. Especially after some other comments I've read.

I was under the care of the staff at Mount Carmal Grove City earlier this week and my care was wonderful. I had a pretty painful surgery but my care leading up to, during, and after was top-notch. I was informed, comfortable, and heard. I appreciate the team being so kind, patient, and knowedlgable. Shout out to the team who took care of me while I was recovering from this life changing surgery. I also loved the printout instructions for my at-home needs post-recovery. Every question I had was taken seriously and my fiance who came with me also felt that the care given was high quality. Special Thank you to: Nurse Kat, Nurse Jen, Nurse Sabrina, and Brandi :)

Sat in the ED - not the two I associate with emergency room - from 3pm till after 8 the next morning. Once moved to a room noted many open rooms on the floor. Apparently not a room problem as a staffing problem. This leads to the next problem with this hospital. Tried to eat at 6 pm on a weekday in the hospital cafeteria, NOPE, closes at 2PM. How do families eat and stay close to their family? You at least has a cafeteria when you were on Broad Street.

I came into the ER with irregular heart beat. Only time I saw a nurse was to get a blood draw. They ran blood and took an xray. 3 hours later the dr came in and asked if I was feeling better, with no treatment. Told me I was dehydrated and to get water, assumed it was because I just took a trip and withheld my own fluid to not stop to use the restroom (who does that), told me theyd give me potassium and a referral. Half hour later nothing, took my own IV out and left while the nurses were hanging out talking and laughing at the station. This place is turning into the same joke that mt carmel west was. Update: theres all this info in mychart that they never did. Make sure to request a detailed bill for sure. No physical was done, they didnt ask me about my history.

Long wait time, 5 hours and counting, which they could have advised upon Check in. Could also complete scans while waiting, this place is ridiculous

This review is NOT FOR THE EMERGENCY ROOM. This is for the hospital itself and the surgery center: We just got home from my moms full hysterectomy. They had to remove the essure device that was basically killing her. They took such great care of her and I am forever thankful for that.

I would highly recommend this hospital. I walked in with shoulder pain and woke up finding out I had a heart attack. To all the Dr's, Nurses and everyone that helped or assisted in anyway I want to personally say thank you. I wish I could find out everyone's name to personally thank. Especially my ICU overnight nurse. You was and still are my Angel!!!

We were leery of coming here with a family member due to the awful reviews. However, we had to come to the Grove City location because that is where our doctor was. And I have to say we had a very positive experience. From the minute we walked upstairs to meet Holly who prayed over us before a family members surgery, to being updated during the surgery, to the amazing staff in the ICU, everyone was wonderful. Thank you to everyone for everything you are doing for our family member.

NOT Recommended - If you are in pain and your Words hurt them, they will dump you with no medication, and not care about your pain or ability to find another surgeon. Had 2 back surgeries there, need a third now, they said screw you.

Terrible place. Beware of ER. Laid in room 4 five hrs without seeing anyone. Wouldn't help me 2 the bathroom. Claimed it wasn't their job. Had bleeding ulcers and the ER physician wanted me 2 take massive doses of aspirin.

I want to share that the 5th floor staff was awesome the whole time I've been here. I had a lot going on and they worked hard to solve all my problems before leaving. Again thanks Jeff

Sunday early evening I took my 92 y/o mother with alzheimers to the emergency room after a fall. There were a total of 25 people there, of which was probably no more than 50% patients. She was already in the system so check in was quick. After 1 1/2 hrs they took her in for xrays. 2 hrs after that we still had no results of the xrays. She had no food in her and needed her medication. She had peed herself twice. She was crying wanting to leave. She was not in pain so we left. I've had better service at an animal hospital. No one even checked on her. I will never go there again and will spread the word about how they treat people.

Went in at 5:30 pm,. Sent to triage in about 20 minutes. Left sitting in the waiting room for 4 hours with a fever of 102.9. got back to the exam room, finally was given Tylenol to beak fever. I was there for over 6 hours. Doctor, nurse and staff were great. I can not understand why the hospital let's people stay in the waiting area without masks, during a global pandemic. I updated this review, the first one was not very nice. I wrote it in about hour 3 of burning fever in the waiting room.

This hospital is full of awesome, caring and passionate staff who sees their work as a calling and not just some other jobs. I have been blessed to work alongside great chaplains, nurses and physicians in my short time here.

My grandson was just born here and this experience has been AMAZING! We've had two of the best nurses to help us through this new journey! Nurse Sally is a book full of knowledge, she explains things as she's doing them, she educates patients and support team so that there is full understanding of what's happening, what will happen and the whys.. Nurse Drew is super cool, fun, friendly and very attentive. I appreciate the care provided to my daughter in love, my son and our family during this wonderful time!
