Legit worse ER ever. Like where is your staff? I use my PCP faithfully but emergency departments are for urgent emergencies. Its like the staff here is questioning why you care about your child enough to have them admitted 🤦🏿‍♀️ The staff needs to remember its there job to take care of the patient with a sense of urgency. Not judge a parent for wanting quality care for there child. ONLY COME HERE IF ITS A LAST RESORT. Empathy clearly isnt a core value and im quite sure customer service training for this staff was bypassed as well.

My child will be a new patient to this hospital and when we first scheduled everyone was friendly and helpful. However I called today to confirm my child's appointment and the lady that answered the phone was very rude and short when I asked for the clinic information (we are coming from Columbus and not familiar with the Cincinnati area). Then I asked for assistance in signing up for Mychart (so I wouldn't have to talk to a person again if I needed any further information) and was transferred to the Mychart support department. The lady I spoke to there was even more rude than the first lady I spoke with. The support person told me I had to go to a clinic or sign up on line. I explained we were not local to the other so we couldn't just go to the clinic and I was having some issues with signing up on line, hence the phone call. Instead of just stating that she could not help me (what is the whole point of this support line?), she just kept repeating that I had to go to a clinic or sign up on line. As a new patient or any patient for that matter I was not expecting this type of poor customer service. I really hope the people in the clinic have better customer service skills than the people that assist you over the phone.

For the very BEST in children's health care, Cincinnati Children's Hospital and each of its affiliates are the places to go. They have some of the best trained and educated physicians in the country. Always courteous, compassionate, comprehensive and professional. We are so blessed to have this caliber of children's health care in our city.

I'm sure the quality of medical care for my granddaughter will be sufficient; however, the care and concern regarding her emotional needs and the emotional needs of her family are totally lacking. We drove 6+ hours for her to have surgery. While we were waiting for her to wake up, the nurse in a very nonsubtle way, ignored my input-even when the parents deferred to me as I spend a great deal of time with her. The nurse asked the parents if they needed anything and ignored me. I was advised I could not spend the night with her, nor was I allowed to spend the night in the waiting area. Even though I had a concourse sticker, the security (twice) accused me of being a homeless person trying to stay out of the weather. I hope there are no more surgeries here.

We were in Cincinnati from out of town because a close family member was in serious condition in another hospital and the family was called in. While we were getting ready to go to the hospital my son fell in the hotel shower and severely cut his arm. We took him to Cincinnati Children's Hospital and from the moment we walked in the ER, the staff were nothing short of amazing. They took my son in very quickly and the doctors and nurses started working on him immediately. While waiting for xray results, we got a call that the other family member didn't have long and they were calling us to the other hospital. The staff had asked questions when we arrived and were aware of the situation. They worked as quickly as possible to get my son treated and taken care of with the utmost care, compassion and expertise. We were able to get to the other hospital and be there with the family member when they passed. The staff, nurses and doctors at the Cincinnati Children's hospital made one of the most difficult situations in our lives easier because of their caring and compassion. We will be forever grateful for them all. Thank you ♡

I was there at children's hospital last night for my daughter 6/5/22 to 6/6/22 at 8 am. she swallowed a nickel and the wait time that they had me waiting there was insane. we did not get a room until 6:00 a.m. anything could of happen to my daughter in hat time frame while sitting in there waiting and her going in and out of sleep. Even tho she was breathing fine , we did not know where it was lodged .Some of the lack of professionalism that I received from the staff at the front desk was unreal. I did not feel like they cared about the need of my child and just had everyone sitting out in that freezing cold waiting room from the day before until the next day we were there from 10: 30pm to 8:00am the next day.. the PPC is where my daughter goes for her primary care and not even their wait time as long like that I'm not bashing children's hospital as a whole just my experience that I experienced last night definitely was not happy.

We've been coming here for our youngest child for the past 10 years and here right now. The colorectal team and staff are wonderful and second to none. Even with situations beyond our control regarding my sins health thru never let us feel powerless. They asked our opinions and appreciated feedback we had to share. There is no other hospital I would take my son to even though we live in New Jersey and is quite a trek to get here. 10 stars is what they deserve not 5

I had relatives travel from Kentucky, for a well-prepared and safely arranged surgery. They used their limited resources to get quality health care for their precious daughter. Unfortunately, they experienced disrespectful and selfish changes. The assigned Medical professionals, made foolish excuses for their ugly manners and rotten behavior. A good Hospital should have stricter rules about honesty, kindness, compassion, and respect. If a Medical care facility wants continuous business, Patients must be dignified and given genuine professional Services. To maintain a positive reputation, entire Medical staff should constantly research, and make adjustments to improve Health care procedures. Regardless of differences and opinions, Hospitals should sincerely endeavor on giving respectful Medical Care. This Hospital was disappointing and refused to satisfy Health care preferences. They completely failed at honoring Patient's wishes. All hard-working Families deserve the best Health Treatments possible. Until necessary changes happen, I wouldn't recommend This facility to anyone. Instead I'll recommend People go elsewhere.

Waiting for seven hours after doing things the right way and receiving a referral from a pediatrician stings. However, knowing how quickly an infected abscess could be lanced and how we could be on on our way stings much more. I'm not sure children's ER has much space dedicated to fast track patients with problems that could be handled swiftly and therefore it's greatly bottlenecked and hamstrung by poor capacity management unless you happen to have a super high acuity patient or a newborn.

I have four children spanning from the years 1-10. I had nothing but good things to say until these past couple of years. I understand that they a learning hospital and have a lot of resources but it should go further than that for their #1 ranking. Since Covid they have handed out a degree to almost anybody and these “teams of doctors” can never be on the same page. My daughter has been a sitting duck at this hospital with pneumonia and fevers going on day 9. Should I mention they sent her home after one night in the hospital and she was running fevers anywhere between 101-104!! She went back that very night of course. Her primary is not very happy they sent her home not being fever free for 24 hours especially with the complications she has been having with not being able to keep her medicine down. No tests were done by them either until yesterday (on day 8)!!!!!!!!! We got her diagnoses of pneumonia and strep throat at an urgent care local to us. Every time my husband or I asked about further testing to see what they were missing was dismissed and said it wasn’t part of their care plan and to proceed those questions with her primary doctor. I am livid! Yesterday was the first time she received any breathing treatments for this. My husbands and I’s questions would automatically come from the doctors text booked notes because these “teams” do not have a brain for themselves to answer aside from what the doctor says. So the answers we looked for has always been a few days away from getting answered. From the beginning blood cultures were supposed to be taken as protocol because a child came in with known strep and pneumonia. Instead, no one has an answer to where the cultures went off to. Yesterday on day 8 we find out that my daughters lung is on the bridge of collapsing and she is only 10! It could have been prevented through their care but her pneumonia has now spread even more when it was bad to begin with and they wouldn’t listen about her possibly being allergic to the medication they were giving her because she would break out in a rash when they gave it to her and her fevers would become more consistent. Finally, they listened and she is on a new medication AND IT WORKED. Her fevers have stopped just like that!! BUT it shouldn’t take 8 days to figure that one out. We were not heard as her parents. They would reiterate words coming from my 10 year old daughter and make her feel confused and not even heard from as well! I will be avoiding going to the hospital at all costs in the future. It really sucks it’s the option out here and that this hospital has took this much of a down hill.

Was flown here from Dayton Ohio. When I was 15 years old February 8th, 2015. Because of a gunshot wound in right eye, through brain, and out the back off my head. Shattering the whole right side of my face and leading to me having meningitis. This is a really good hospital for kids🗣️💯 I turn 20 years old 9/1/2020 I graduated high school, with certifications. Have a driver's license. Own a home and all 😊 good hospital!!

The people are nice but I've been there a few times . Every time I get transferred from the emergency to the urgent care for my daughter and the wait is always hours . Not good at keeping track of who's next . Extremely small cramped room and it's just crazy how big the hospital is and they just take hours upon hours to get to anyone in there . I mean come on

First time I ever came to this hospital was back in 01/21. First of all, I want to start of with the way they rushed to check my son was great because he was under 60days. I loved how they were working hard to treat him but I had the worst experience when I was checking out. The Nurse that was working with him to check him out was so cruel, the reason why I am saying this is because so my baby had IV and instead of slowing taking the IV out of my babies skin. She pulled it off him with all the tapes on his skin and there was so much blood all over his clothes and mine. When I asked her she was shocked she acted like nothing happened and quickly wiped off the blood and said to me it’s okey ma’am. I wish I said something to that night. I personally think I could have sued the hospital and she could have lost her license because there is no way a nurse should do that to a innocent baby that’s sick. But I was exhausted from not sleeping for night and night due to my baby being sick. Today is 10/19/22 And I am in the loopy waiting for them to call me for 3hrs. I honestly thought this hospital is good but it has gotten worst. I didn’t know they take couple hours to call someone especially when you have a child that’s itching all over his body due to allergic to medication. I mean that could get worst while in the loopy. I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ this is insane.

Took our son to the ER due to a long term, reoccurring vomiting issue after feeds. A resident said she thought it might be covid or flu and wanted to swab for both. I disagreed politely and asked how his symptoms related to covid or flu and she shut down because she couldn't connect the two. Obviously the nurses and fellows disagreed and never mentioned a viral infection. It's scary how some Dr's(not all) are incapable of independent critical thinking. Also the Dr's that where wearing pronoun badges, how unscientific and lame brained. I cannot understand how this is acceptable. We did get our son diagnosed and treated with surgery. Surgery team was great and nursing staff was fantastic.

After being rushed to your hospital in an ambulance. My children waited in the lobby for 5 hours after a major car accident. They were only looked at for a couple minutes, hardly tested at all. Needless to say I had to get them reevaluated. Not to mention I, the mother and driver in said accident never even got my vitals checked. I was checked out today (2 days later) and I have a concussion with severe neck damage. Dropping the ball is an understatement. I'm truly disgusted with the negligence.

Horrible service! The nurses were weird and insensitive. My son went in with a high fever and could barely breathe. They used a device to remove the muscle from his nostrils, they did horrible job and nothing came out bc they ended pushing the mucus further up his nose. Once we got home he fell asleep and woke up with a BLACK EYE due to the pressure. I called the emergency room to see what I should do and they didn’t get back me for another 12 hrs. I had already decided to take matters into my own hands. It took 3 weeks for his eye too start getting back to normal. I have had negative experiences going there as a child but I thought they got better… Seems like the only thing they upgraded was their parking lot. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 And oh yeah ….They have a typical 5+ hr wait that feels like an eternity.😑

Took away my parental rights, poisoned my daughter for things they refuse to diagnosis her with, cut her life in half, run test without our knowledge or permission and they think we owe them. Ignorance is a requirement to work here. Lies lies lies. You will not find honesty here. I cannot say enough bad things about this hospital and their staff. Hope is found in God, science is a tool he gave us, don’t get them confused. Negative 100,000 stars. The Devil’s work is found here. Burn in Hell Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Wonderfully attentive doctors and therapists. Grade A service, caring, and compassion from everyone we dealt with here. They were able to diagnose and get our daughter on a treatment plan the same day. Thanks so much for treating our child like a person and not just a case number like so many places do.

We have taken our children here for treatments. The staff and personnel are top notch ....no complaints at all. And as an added bonus, the cafeteria is excellent. It’s well worth the drive from Louisville to get the care we need for our family.

Since being at Cincinnati Children's, we have had the WORST time. This hospital is an actual joke. I'm so sad we transferred. As soon as we got here, we were bullied & lied to by an ATTENDING. We have been moved to 5 different rooms after being here for 3 months. We're harassed by nurses, security, and other staff members almost on the daily. Its crazy, how most people here seem to be robots with no emotion towards real people going through real tragedy. Would absolutely recommend not coming here. The ratings on this hospital are bought. I mean they think johnson & johnson is a good sterile soap and thats what they use on babies here. If that tells you anything.

We travel from Tennessee all the way here for my son’s specialist care. We’ve been through tons of children’s hospitals and so far just none overall compare to this one for us. I feel like it’s easy for locals to take for granted such an amazing hospital when it’s all that they know, but there’s a reason that this hospital consistently ranks top 3 in the nation every year. They’ve saved my son’s life more times than I can count and there’s so many resources here available for inpatient and traveling families that aren’t available at other hospitals

As a teen patient I can say this place is amazing and takes amazing care of their patients. The nurses are extremely nice and helpful and they're amazing at what they do! As someone with an extreme fear of hospitals and doctors, I was completely calm the entire time I was there and felt really safe. They'll explain any type of process for your treatment if you want them to and they encourage you to ask questions. They don't just hurry up what they're doing and get out, they take their time to do things right and they actually take interest in their patients and learning about what they like to do and you can engage in conversation with them which was really cool. If I was told I had to go back again, I wouldn't be anxious or upset.

They are hands down the best physicians on Earth! They all work as a team and correspond with every specialist your child has. They go above and beyond to treat your child as their own. They call you after hours when they have spent even more countless hours trying to find an answer for every question. They won't stop or give up till they have done all they can. Honestly, this is how healthcare should be! We never felt more involved and in the know with our childs care every step of the way! We had endocrinology, hematology, ENT surgeon and cardiology. Not to mention all the wonderful nurses, anesthesiologists and staff that made sure we knew what each step, plan or why something happened or what could happen. I'm still in amazement of how they operated so smoothly and all united! We will never use another hospital for our children's needs! Thank you Cincinnati Children's! You are MAKING an IMPACT! If only others followed in your footsteps healthcare would change lives by saving them! ❤

I went to Cinncinati Children's with my older sister when we were little for our immune system diseases. That was way back! 😏 we moved at some point and I just never dreamed I'd be bringing one of my own girls here! The place is lots bigger! Everyone is just as helpful and thoughtful as I remembered! Back then we drove around 2hrs from ky. Now I drive around 2hrs from Indiana! Dr Carroll in the hemmangioma vascular unit has been so nice!!

I’m a type one diabetic have been a patient for years here, the doctors are amazing, but hands down have the worst social worker I’ve ever seen who doesn’t care about anyone but herself. My medicine was denied cause I needed to make an appointment so I made one the soonest they had was in may, I got a call saying that was to far out which I was okay with Rachel Jones then started to be very rude to me even said it’s not her fault I have diabetes I have all the phone calls recorded. My bmv form was good until the end of the year and she sent a letter to bmv to cancel my license when I called about it she told the staff I was rude and to discharge me and not reply back to my messages after a doctor was trying to help me. Never been so disrespected in my life and hope childrens gets a new social worker. If you don’t like your job get a new one cause I use to love childrens and this just ruined it for me she told me good luck with getting my medicine and since I can’t drive call 911 if I need a ride to the ER like I’m actually in fear for my life with no medicine right now.

I love feeling like if anything goes wrong with my 2 yr old grandson there’sa Children’s hospital close. Unfortunately I’m realizing he may not be s as safe and taken care of as I thought. First my 26 yr old daughter who was cared for since age 6 for epilepsy was drop at the age of 18. She was in the middle of having a vns implanted and we had been told through this process it would help control seizures and help get her off of the numerous medications with life hindering side effects. We was left scared, confused and didn’t know where to turn. I even went to the office in concern and s was turned away. Now 8 yrs later somehow I still have confidence in this hospital I take my 2 yr old grandson due to many and awful looking symptoms of hand tfoot and mouth disease. We was in the waiting room around all the other patients for almost 2 hrs. It was very hard to keep him in one little spot to keep this contagious infection from spreading to others. We finally was brought back where the car just seemed cold and another long wait with a difficult child feeling very uncomfortable. I had to push to get something to help or ease his discomfort . There’s nothing you can really do for this disease, but there is things you can do to ease the discomfort. Not only that this is a brand new urgent care/ emergency room . Everything in the exam room was noticeably dirty after changing his diaper. We left his pants and socks off, because we noticed it was only irritating him worse he got down on the floor in his feet was black within a couple minutes I noticed once he sat down to try and dust his feet off. Utensils and other things hanging in the room. The sink was noticeably dirty. I’m just so surprised considering these days how important it is for cleanliness as to the way our visit went last night. I should’ve stayed at concerns eight years ago but after this visit, it’s definitely time.

I was at the hospital yesterday with my kids for some appointments. It was a rough day.. As I began to pay for my lunch my daughter who aspirates started vomiting all over the place. There was a lady who worked at the hospital that literally threw all of her stuff on the floor to help me with my daughter that was vomiting and as well helped my son that was crying. Not only that but as my daughter was still gagging and I was trying to calm her down, she paid for my food and walked us to a table. Thank you SO much foe your help! I didn't get your name but I couldn't of done it without your help. I ate my food after I was able to get my daughter calm then went into the gift shop to get her a shirt. The ladies at the gift shop were SO Kind! They helped me clean out my daughter's wagon and as I was wiping the wagon down one of the ladies got my daughter dressed for me. This hospital and what happened yesterday with the employees helping really gave me faith and reminded me that I'm not alone. Everyone was such a blessing and I'm so happy that we found this hospital to basically call our second home. Thank you SO much for ALL of you that helped me yesterday. I truly appreciate it and will never forget it. Also, I just want to put in here that every single doctor we have seen at this hospital so far has been amazing and they actually listen to you as a parent and care. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to be a patient at this amazing hospital.

Thank the good Lord for Childrens Hospital of Cincinnati Ohio for treating him and their parents with the outmost respect. The parents of said Great-Nephew drove a long ways to get there. They are stunned from the way they are treating their Son. He's been through a rough time and this Hospital is now giving the Baby and Parents the BEST CARE GIVEN!!! CONGRATS CHILDRENS HOSPITAL OF CINCINNATI!!!!!!! LOVE FROM AN UNCLE FROM TEXAS.

Hands down THE best facility! We specifically had experience in the emergency room, GI, rheumatology, nutrition, behavior Health and PT. All have been amazing. If this hospital isn’t close to you but you want excellent care for your child MAKE THE TRIP! They are highly ranked in multiple departments for a reason!

I love this place. I am 28 and still see my childhood cardiologist! The only bad thing i will say is most places in this practice will kick you out at 21 the only downside. The nurses and Dr.s are very kind and show compassion when i come to the ER and explain my situation! Sadly I am not allowed to come to this ER unless its heart related and I live in ky. We only have one hospital closer to use.

If I could give more stars I would. My son has a rare genetic disorder and is followed by 6 specialist at Children's. They always make sure I understand and they are always compassionate. From NICU to 2yrs old they have supported us on our difficult journey every step of the way. Not only do they take the best care of my son, they also make sure I am ok. It's mentally exhausting to go through all of this and I'm so grateful to have them to lean on. I also want to add, after reading some other reviews, that while long ER wait times are frustrating, you have to understand what medical issues take priority. One of my sons genetic complications is a bleeding disorder. Two weeks ago he fell back and hit his head. Immediately a large hematoma formed and continued to grow as he complained of losing sight. We immediately got in the car and initiated our care plan put in place by hematology. They were waiting for us when we got there, despite a packed ER. Why? Risk of brain bleed. I know there were a lot of parents upset that we just came in and went back but a brain bleed is more serious than a temperature. He was given a CT within 45 minutes of arrival. An amazingly quick response that is Imperative in our situation.

Horrible cleft palate team, for the third time they messed up my 24 year old son's nose He has cleft lip and palate. This is the worst He doesn't look normal at all, at least he looked decent right before the last surgery. I am done with Cincinnati children's, I am going to the Cleveland clinic where they are known for excellent care. I need to travel but I will do that for my son. He is being teased horribly. Other kids says it looks like his nose is melting. Now I have to wait a whole year for him to get it fixed.

I'm an employee and a foster mom who has taken children to appointments, urgent care and the emergency department. We received incredible care from the most amazing staff each time we have visited! It is also the best place to work! I am so proud and grateful to have Cincinnati Children's in my backyard.

Very nice and clean inside. Parking is Not to bad, if I was able to park without any problems here then anybody can!!! Lol!! Everyone is very nice and caring. The nurses are great they have a way to make their patients feel better. They have little things like these dinosaurs states all over the hospital to make the kids feel better. It worked my nephew loved these dinosaurs we had to stop and take pics with it!!

All it took was for one person to care and send a prescription to the pharmacy. It didn’t happen. I made several calls and spoke with different people who did nothing to help. Contacted the hospital through their website to tell about my experience and got a email response saying staff followed policy. At what point do you understand that the policy isn’t working. Maybe the pandemic ruined people in general and how people are treated. I expected much more from Cincinnati Children’s. Very disappointed when something so simple could have been resolved.

Hospital parking garage added lights that indicate if there’s parking available in each section. Starbucks employee stated that she hasn’t made fresh coffee in the 2.5 hours that she had been working & recommended that another customer get coffee from the cafe instead so it was fresh… After I just ordered 2 drinks. 😬

We were in gastrointestinal department with our 8yr old daughter. She was so scared for everything. Every nurse was so thorough and caring and explained everything to her and made her feel comfortable. We spent 3 days here and can not explain how amazing the staff and nurses are here. Special thanks to Maria on floor 4. My daughter felt so comforted by you!!!

Been coming here for a really long time now. The doctors I’ve met; the surgeon I went through for issues were awesome. The only thing I don’t enjoy is being told I’m going to get one thing (like prescribed medication, etc) at my appointment; then having to wait anywhere from 1 month-3 months just to go and find out that 1.) I’m not getting what I need that day and 2.) If I want to possibly get said thing, I’m gonna have to make /another/ appointment when being told at my last one I’d get what I needed at this one. It’s frustrating at times, as I’ve been to 3 appointments now trying to get proper treatment and don’t have many off days as is.

We have been going to Cincinnati Childrens for over 3 yrs now and always receive excellent care. We have been in many departments within Cincinnati Childrens, from physiatry, ophthalmology, radiology, physical/occupational/speech therapy, and neurology. We have always had excellent nurses and excellent doctors. The staff have great bedside manner and have always been personable. Not to mention all of the times we have called regarding bills and service....the phone service has always been nice as well.

They are so wonderful here. They help our son so much and give us greatly appreciated resources as out-of-towners. Hopefully we aren’t here for many more years but the years we have been, just great.

In the waiting area for 7 hours and ended up leaving. I'm signed up for the text alerts to let me know when it'll be my child's turn to be called back to a room and it's now been 10 hours with no text message updates. I asked numerous times about the wait and every time, the front desk had something smart to say. I don't come for patient care and expect to have rude attitudes directed towards me, nor do any of the other patients that were tired of waiting for so long. I don't understand how children can be sick, and need medical attention but the only place in Cincinnati that everyone tells you to take your children, is terrible at caring for your children. I've never been to childrens ER but I know for a fact that I'll never be back

I went to the Emergency room yesterday being in the worst pain of my life. I was there for 7 hours trying so hard to get let back, I went to the front, my friends went to the front, my parents and friends parents called. I knew there was something very wrong and they would not take me back for 7 hours. I ended up leaving and going to a different emergency room and found out that if I did not go to the emergency room I could have possibly died within 24 hours. There was one nice man who did try his best to help me but the Director and a women at the front desk were very rude and note helpful. If you are in need of a medical emergency I would not go here.

🫤 Dismissive and not willing to listen to my concerns. Coming back to this comment to also mention that I literally saw a nurse not wash her hands. It was nasty. I also came in for heart palpitations and some weeks later I found out that it was a side effect of a medication I was taking, but the extr...

👍👍 Overall the care has been excellent. A bit of background: My husband had a stroke fall of 2021. He had extraordinarily poor care in ICU at a Mercy facility. So poor that he nearly died multiple times without my intervention. He had surgery that was unnecessary that we are still trying to correct af...

😠 Zero stars if I could, avoid this hospital like the plague! They will push you to get all kinds of testing and charge you outrageous rates… I was in the ER for chest pain after my covid booster and the Physician spent 20 seconds with me and said I looked fine. They charged me a level 5 ER price and...
