I
briefly
visited
Maize
Manor
United
Methodist
Church
[at
3901
Maize
Rd.
in
the
"North
Linden"
neighborhood
of
Columbus]
on
5-21-2023
while
visiting
Circle
of
Hope
Church,
a
recently-formed
United
Methodist
Church
that
currently
meets
in
the
Maize
Manor
United
Methodist
Church
building.
Maize
Manor
meets
at
9:30
a.m.
at
the
north
end
of
the
building;
Circle
of
Hope
meets
at
10:30
a.m.
at
the
south
end
of
the
building.
The
former
Summit
on
16th
United
Methodist
Church
[near
The
Ohio
State
University
campus]
[with
which
I
had
been
"friends"
during
its
entire
history]
and
the
former
Maynard
Ave.
United
Methodist
Church
[their
building
had
been
located
about
half
a
mile
north
of
the
Summit
building]
merged
during
Summer
2022
to
create
Circle
of
Hope;
the
merged
church
meets
in
a
different
part
of
town.
I
arrived
early
at
Maize
Manor
United
Methodist
Church
so
that
I
would
be
able
to
explore
the
building
for
a
while
and
then
joined
Circle
of
Hope
for
their
Sunday-morning
worship
[that
had
been
followed
by
a
delicious
catered
meal].
One
great
feature
of
the
Maize
Manor
United
Methodist
Church
building
is
that
the
sanctuary
is
all
of
the
way
to
the
north
end
of
the
building
and
that
a
large
room
that
certainly
is
that
church's
former
sanctuary
is
all
of
the
way
to
the
south
end
of
the
building.
Therefore,
it
is
possible
for
both
congregations
to
gather
on
Sunday
mornings
at
nearly
the
same
time
without
interfering
with
each
other.
One
drawback
to
the
way
in
which
the
Maize
Manor
building
had
been
constructed
is
that
it
is
impossible
to
travel
between
the
two
ends
of
the
building
without
having
to
go
up
and
down
[or
down
and
up]
two
half-flight
flights
of
steps
or
by
using
a
single-level
sidewalk
that
is
outside
of
the
building.
