Although the property looks nice, the issues with vehicle break-ins is out of hand. Management has not made any changes to security during the year and a half we’ve lived on-site, and as I write this review there are approximately 8 vehicles sitting in the parking lot with busted out windows. Gun shots can often be heard near the property and it can feel very unsafe in the evenings with minimal lighting surrounding the property and very minimal security officer presence. With above-average rent prices, this is unacceptable. I know there is an uptick in this types of offenses in general, but management’s lack of response is why they are getting a 1-star rating. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Abbie lakes has been a blessing to live at. The management, leasing agents and grounds staff are absolutely phenomenal! It’s always litter free and super quiet. It’s a great community to be apart of. They even have security that patrols the parking area at night . I would highly recommend anyone to live here

I have lived at Abbie Lakes for over 2 years and I have never had any complaints! Tracy and Dana are extremely helpful with any and every request I’ve ever brought to them. Both ladies are very professional and friendly. The maintenance team, especially, Randy is exceptional! Any work order I’ve submitted gets taken care of within 24 hours and the office ALWAYS calls after to follow up to ensure the work order was completed to my satisfaction. The property and grounds are always well taken care of. The tenants are pleasant. Management consistently hosts community events for tenants and keeps us well informed with emails. I have never experienced any issues during my stay here which is why I continue to renew my lease.

From day 1 Tracy and Dana have been so helpful. They are friendly, remember you by name, call to make sure your previously sent in orders are taken care to satisfaction. Ive never felt more cared for living in an apartment community. Neighbors are so friendly. The scenery is beautiful, located in a quiet neighborhood, my favorite part are the walking trails and how active you can be at any given time.I love it! Definitely check it out!

Abbie Lakes is a wonderful community! It's quite, great neighbors, and the staff and maintenance crew are amazing! I've never had an issue that was not fixed the same day. So nice to know you are looked after and have genuine concern about their community. Good people, good times, and you can't beat having your own dog park and easy access to bike paths and local parks in the area!

When I was looking for an apartment community, I happened to come across Abbie Lakes by Cortland completely by accident while just driving around the area. It was within the area that I wanted to live and close to everything I needed to get to. I was definitely attracted by the beautiful ponds and well kept grounds. From a safety perspective, I liked the openness of the landscape and the way the buildings were arranged on the grounds. Because of all of the above reasons, I decided to stop in at the office and was warmly greeted by the staff. Within a very few minutes I was touring one of the models I was most interested in! I truly found myself at home in the model and could easily see where I would place my furniture, etc. I have been here now over a year and a half and I have no regrets. The standards I encountered on day one have continuously been upheld at Abbie Lakes.....a beautiful, peaceful and safe community close to all the conveniences one might need.

When I was looking for an apartment I visited several complexes. I looked at the models at each apartment complex when I went into the Abbie Lakes model I felt like I was home. I love living here. The entire staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. The maintenance team is top notch when I have had a maintenance issue they were right there to respond. Rent keeps going up at a stupid rate, car keeps getting broken into, was stolen twice. I pay for renters insurance but am also charged monthly because they didn't tell me the rate went up. ** finally fixed the insurance issue, but my boyfriends car was broken into a couple nights ago. He is moving to a sister location also through Cortland that has garage space for rent, I may just move there once I can afford it** *** I also saw a reply about the "few" car incidents.... I wanted to clarify I've been in Ohio since April of 2022, got my new car in August of 22, it was stolen twice and broken in to. So I've had just a "few" incidents myself. Based off police reported incidents alone there have been roughly 50 since I moved in. That doesn't include those not reported (aka there wasn't a police report for my break in or my boyfriends since it just needed fixed)***

Having experienced crime in well-known crime areas around Columbus, I would have to rank these apartments as the top for high stress of when you'll be the next victim. Within less than a year of being tied to someone who lives here, there have been more than 15 recorded incidents that have taken place. From busted windows, stolen cars left in the lot, a car stolen from the lot, attempted catalytic theft, loud music in the late of night, and more, this place is a nightmare for how much one has to spend to live here. This is not even including the internals of what's been found to be issues as well as not to be disclosed for privacy reasons. For how much one has to be on edge here, this place is but a game of roulette to guess when you'll be the next victim. Just go elsewhere and save yourselves the trouble. Management has been notified more than once of very serious incidents and don't care as they don't have to live here. They will give excuses stating crime has increased, call the police or we have an unarmed security company we work with which should be patroling nightly yet they only ever come every blue moon and are never around when something is going on. Every statement made of concern with resolution had a rebuttal. In other words, "we hear you, but we don't really care; get it off your chest and go on." For all that has taken place for just one entrance/exit, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If alone a gate was added at the front, as many other less crime ridden apartments, that alone would stop the majority of the crime taking place. But as long as management lines their pockets with the money of tenants who fail to get together to hold them responsible/accountable for their well-being, nothing will change for the better for anyone living here. So, as a fare warning, if you move here, keep extra money on standby for a deposit on a broken window, just in case. And know that when anything happens, save your breath, management will not care nor resolve anything for you.

I appreciate how the staff and maintenance does what they can to handle any issues and tries to make living here the best possible! The staff takes an interest in being personable with those living here!

From the day I contacted this place, I was greeted warmly and had every questioned answered quickly. The place is beautifully landscaped. The flooring isn't that typical apartment vinyl junk. It's been quiet at all the right times here, and typically quiet all day long. Delivery people find me easily which is a plus. No complaints here

I moved back in March, looking for a fresh start . Tracy was who I met first welcomed me & my daughter & made us feel at home . Although I have only been in my residence for 7 months, Tracy, & Dana have exceeded my expectations. They always get the job done, they are extremely friendly. I am having the best experience here at Abbie Lakes!!!! I have 0 complaints. They do so much! From the day I stopped in to tour the model, even now, I can guarantee you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome. We love to see it !!!! They truly are the best 10 across the board!!!!

I've been here since September and I love everything about it. I enjoy the quiet country life with easy access to shops. The apartments are clean, spacious, and quiet. So far the neighbors are very nice and respectful. My husband and I made the best decision choosing Abbie Lakes.

The cleanest pool & the side walks of the pool was clean all so and who ever did it did a fantastic an awesome job I love this places like this makes people value the place more.

I lived at Abbie lakes for 4 years! Started off great and once Dana left thing wasn’t quite the same! Overall the place was ok but Cortland is a horrible company! First they don’t care about there residence there main focus is money! I had a raccoon in my ceiling for 5 months and it’s not until I called corporate that the emails and calls started flooding trying to accommodate me! Number two they make it hard they for you to move out they wanna charge ridiculous prices for you to go month to month and require a ridiculous time frame for you to give notice to move! I was told I had to be out by the 15th of the month they charged me until the 28th of the month 1810 to be exact They completely inconvenience you and put you in position to have to stay with them! Lastly Chrissy brown is the most rudest tasteless women I’ve ever encountered! Very nasty attitude lacks personable skill and just over all rude! Overall there’s a million apartments in the area find anywhere but Cortland

I love living in Abbie Lakes! the environment is serene and peaceful and the upkeep of the property is impeccable! When I submit a maintenance request is it handle properly and with efficiency! Dana is professional and understanding☺️ Tracy is compassionate and prompt! I can’t think of a greater place to be!

If you’re Black, Muslim, or African, you might want to stay away. My husband and I toured an apartment, fell in love, went home to apply and the link for the application was not going through. I sent an email to Chris, who by the way told us that she just started working at the property, and the next day she replied saying the current tenant wishes to stay and so they had to remove the apartment from the market. We were bummed and confused because that’s not how a lease works considering there’s paperwork involved and you don’t just get to say “I change my mind” to keep your apartment. Out of curiosity I looked at their website today and found the SAME apartment listed and available now. It’s a shame because we really liked the property and were hoping we were wrong but the only logical explanation we could come up with was that she didn’t like how we looked.

I love our team in the office! They’re really amazing! They go above and beyond to make you feel at home and apart of a community. On occasions they have little gatherings you can attend to and they provide food, snacks and beverages! Today they had a card making active in the office for Valentine’s Day ! It was so sweet ! Also it’s great to live somewhere that the leasing agents actually care about their tenants & there welcome! My first day I moved in they actually gave me a gift, it was a blanket with my initial on it! They do a great job also at what they do. I didn’t have too many problems living here and when I did put a work order they get right to it. So thank you guys for being amazing !

Great management, lovely scenery. The neighbors were horrific though. Lots of fights, drugs, yelling, trash, break-ins etc. Didn’t feel safe once we left. Very unfortunate considering how lovely the place was when we first arrived. Management should crack down on who they’re renting to. On the bright side, the maintenance man was the best. Super friendly, responsive. Mr. Maintenance Man definitely deserves a raise. Thank you Maintenance Man.

Abbie Lakes looks out for their tenants. Service is prompt and efficient. They take pride in the community and go above and beyond. It is convenient to shopping, dining and freeways, yet it is still quiet. My neighbors are very friendly and we all lookout for each other. It is a great place to call home.

I have been here going on my ninth year. I have found the current staff including maintenance and office personnel to be extremely friendly and helpful. During this trying time with the virus I have found them to be exceptionally helpful and they have gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable with any issues that I have confronted.

I live in Abbie lakes by Cortland on the first floor, my apartment came with wood floors that are amazing, and easy to clean! My view from my living room is of the beautiful lake, it just couldn’t get better! The maintenance is always on top of things when and if I ever need something done. This is my first place I’ve moved into and I couldn’t of had a better experience overall! Thanks to Tracy Billingsley, Dayna and the whole team of Cortland.

I love it here! I've lived at Abbie Lakes since 2002 and have always felt that this is home. The property is well maintained, the service provided is excellent and the Abbie Lakes team is not only very professional, but also very thoughtful, kind and friendly.

This is my second year living here at abbie lakes by cortland. I really love living here. I feel as if I'm at a resort as my view over looks the pond and the beautiful trees. Love the the floor plan which is and open concept. Maintenance is very quick to fix any issues usually within 24 hours or less depending the time I place a request. Love love love the office staff. Tracey and Dana are the BEST!!! Hopefully they don't transfer anywhere eles. Couldn't ask for better appartment living!!!

The management team is great and the maintenance team is very responsive. I love having my own washer and dryer in the apartment. I also like the convenience of the nearby grocery stores and shopping centers. I would recommend this apartment complex if you are looking for a nice area to live in.

I love everything about living at Abbie Lakes. The location is great- so close to shopping and nature trails! Dayna and Tracey will always greet you with a smile and answer all of your questions. Randy and Evan are always ready to help fix what needs fixing! So glad to call this amazing community home.

We have lived here for a year and a half. The staff/maintenance are very kind and attentive. We have had some minor issues with appliances, specifically air conditioning. However, maintenance is on it within the day. Neighbors are a bit of an issue at times, as it is at any complex. But overall we have had a positive experience here. We have another few months left on our lease, and the only reason we will be leaving is to purchase a home to start a family

The staff at Cortland has been warm, welcoming, and was super helpful when a few last minute move-in issues cropped up. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and friendly and best of all, there are TWO parks outside of my door. The complex is surrounded by trees, nature, and quiet and it's pretty great. Highly recommend to all.

I have been at Abbie Lakes for the past 2-3 years. I've really enjoyed my time so far. The management has always been super quick to help if theres any issues in the apartment or with my lease. All the residents are super friendly and nice.

I've lived here over a year now. The staff is very friendly and are quick to help you with any problems you may have. Work orders are taken care of within a day or two, and done very well. The area is nice, it's quiet, and I can even see some stars at night! You get a lot of space for a good price, and you're still close enough to places like Easton for some shopping or eating out.

Absolutely phenomenal place to live. I think the things that stand out are the beautiful views here. There are 2 full ponds to enjoy, with colorful lights at night. There's a nice trail in proximity for dog walking or exercising. Maintenance stays on top of things and the staff is wonderful to work with. Highly recommended!

I cannot speak highly enough about Chris in the leasing office at Abbie Lakes. She is kind, caring, knowledgeable and went out of her way to accommodate me and check up on me in a very difficult and stressful situation when I was selling my house and preparing to move to Abbie Lakes. She listened and supported me in every way possible. Although ultimately, because of timing, I was unable to move to Abbie Lakes but I sure fell in love with it. It’s a beautiful, quiet community and if I’m ever in need of an apartment again, Chris and Abbie Lakes would be the first person I called. The apartments are spacious and well equipped and because I have 2 fur babies, they are VERY pet friendly. I would recommend Abbie Lakes to anyone needing a new home.

I love living at Abbie Lakes. It’s close to shopping, freeways, and several good businesses. At Abbie Lakes they go above and beyond to care for their residents. We have activities and they even have a food truck at times and residents can get free food if they’re there in the time allotted. My son loves how they have candy in the office for the kids when they get off the school bus. I’ve always felt safe here and the neighbors have been nice people. The maintenance staff is the best! Any time you call maintenance, they’re there quickly. The office staff are the best also! They truly care about their residents. I highly recommend Abbie Lakes!!

Abbie Lakes by Cortland would be greatly diminished without Dana and Tracy! I Love Them!! I appreciate you both so much. No matter what I need help with they have been wonderful and immediate to address my concerns. I’m not the most savvy computer girl but Tracy has helped me so many times with the changes recently implemented!! These wonderful women are the reason I continue to call Abbie Lakes home. I give Chris and Matt 5 stars!! They are so helpful and take good care of residents' needs. However, the beautiful property can't really be enjoyed because the goose poop is absolutely horrible! You cannot walk anywhere without stepping in it.

Abbie Lakes is a great apartment complex! I have never had any problems. The office staff are friendly and courteous and knowledgeable about everything that goes on. The office staff also like to have community events to give people a chance to go out and meet their neighbors. For instance, one cold morning they were outside giving away a free breakfast to everyone from like 8am-11am! (Thank you again for that!) The bike trail is a plus due to it being just a few steps away. There is also a park that is a few steps away that is convenient for a quick family park day. The maintenance staff are super friendly, quick, and efficient. If there's a problem the maintenance staff will get the job done ASAP!!! Overall, it is a great place if you're looking for peace and quiet, nature walks/ bike trails, and a dog park.

Zoey and Jenna in the office are both really helpful and kind. I called the office several times before moving in and every time they were nice and answered my questions. Then on move in day they did a walk through before I was there and realized the cleaning people needed to come back. I am glad they looked at the apartment before I moved in to make sure everything was all ready and I would not have to deal with problems when I moved in.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Wonderful apartment management... especially Tracy (she's a lifesaver :) ) and the maintenance folks, too! We couldn't even ask more-- the layout for the apartments are beautiful and open, the hardwood floors are gorgeous, theres everything ready in the kitchen including dishwasher and garbage disposal, bathroom is huge, bedrooms are roomy wonderful landscaping, plentiful walk pathways to different parks, cute small dog park, plentiful benches to watch birds swooping in the ponds, readily grill for the residents, and much more! We give this place 5 stars and A+!

New Renter: We were looking for a place last minute and needed to move. We mistakenly stopped here looking for another complex. Tracy asked what were we looking for. Explained, she said that they have that and more. I still wasn't convinced due to price more than I wanted to pay. Tracy showed us around....when I say, she is friendly and her sales skills are incredible! Convinced and approved. Dana, Tracy, and the maintenance crew are incredible. The apartment is very nice...soaking tub and washer and dryer included are a BONUS! Maintenance calls the very next morning from an order that was put in the evening before to set up a good time to fix things. Quiet neighborhood and friendly neighbors. I love it.

This complex is the nicest that I’ve lived in so far. Dana, Tracy, and Maintenance are very nice people. Don’t have any problems with anything getting fixed when work needs to be done.

I will be moving into Abbie Lakes next month and I’m so excited! I love that it’s near walking trails and has security patrols at night. Tracy, from the rental office, has been amazingly helpful in showing us around and answering all my questions.

Abbie Lakes is a very nice community. It is always quiet here and the staff and maintenance workers are wonderful! I had a little rocky start on my move-in date, and the price of apt is a bit high and the size is a bit small--but overall a clean and decent place! A nice starter home!

We moved into Abbie Lakes in August and have had a wonderful experience!! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Big shout out to April and Austin! The maintenance team is quick, efficient, and knowledgeable. They are super dog friendly, quiet, clean, safe, and even have activities for residents! The leasing process was easy and the leasing office was there every step of the way for questions. Overall I would highly recommend this complex!

I had maintenance workers in my apartment. Austin did an amazing job fixing my drain and both were very personable. I appreciated how timely they were and also seeing them have fun while working I think is a big positive!

Austin responded really quickly and was efficient about his work. Always a pleasure to have him pay us a visit and he's great with our dog as well!
