This Place was highly recommended to me for coffee, and it did not disappoint. I ended up trying the special of the month which was a peeps coffee. I worried it was going to be too sweet but honestly the fantastic blend of coffee with that sweetness really gave it a Great balance. Also wanted to try one of their chocolate chip cookies while I was there because it is homemade in-house. Good stuff all around. Make sure you stop here if you're in Columbus!!

Visited Stauf's on Mother's Day. The coffee was great, and so was the service. Great atmosphere as well

Cute little coffee shop in German town. The staff is very friendly and the coffee is great quality! They offer a lot of different coffee beans to purchase. They have lots of outdoor seating in the patio area. Great place if you want to catch up on work/studying or have a chill conversation with someone. If you’re serious about good coffee and chill coffee shops then this is the place for you!

Excellent service with detailed ordering options. Good sized coffeeshop with seating inside and out. The coffee here no matter what you order taste delicious! Highly recommend trying their coffee as it beats out SB's coffee and I am not a coffee drinker. (Of course they have other drinks as well).

Super tasty coffee shop. They roast their own beans and have a great selection to purchase and take home as well. Tried the lucky latte and sweetheart mocha while in town and love then both. They have a great outdoor patio and are right next door to one if the best bookshops I've ever been to. Friendly staff and all around best coffee I found in Columbus.

Right next to The Book Loft, it's a good place to relax and have a good cup of coffee. We went for a Mocha Chill and a Chai Chill along with an Espresso Chocolate Cake. We didn't like the taste of either of the coffees - not to say something was wrong, just that it wasn't the kind of coffee that suited our taste buds. However, the Espresso Chocolate Cake was truly amazing - that explains why we had the last piece. The coffee flavor was perfectly balanced out with the chocolate. Visually too, the cake was super tempting. They have multiple seating options. There are a few tables just outside the cafe on the sidewalk. They have a good indoor capacity. In addition, they have a couple of tables with umbrellas in the patio set up they've created. On a sunny day, open seating is definitely great. In addition, they have another closed peaceful room adjacent to the patio. Besides the brewed coffee, they also sell raw coffee, coffee machines and mugs etc. Just as you enter you also see some kind of machine (not sure what it is) that gives you a feeling that you're in the coffee world now!!! Overall, I loved the ambiance, the overall feel and the cake here. Not so impressed with the coffee yet, but would still give it another try if I'm in this area.

I don’t know why this place gets SO much praise. It isn’t outright bad, but I can’t say that I’ve ever had a really good drink here. They always mess something up, or the quality of the ingredients just isn’t good. The most recent scenario was when I ordered a matcha, and they barely put in any powder. I paid for warm milk. They messed up my friends latte, too I liked their patio, but even so, it’s not like the environment was particularly unique. All in all, there are coffee shops with both better drinks and more interesting environments. So there’s no need for me to return here.

Cute coffee shop, love that they roast their own coffees but the coffee was just ok. Nothing special in my opinion, but they've done a fantastic job creating a good space for people to come and work, unwind, and chat

Worth the line out the door (there’s absolutely a line) on the weekends because the coffee is that good! The location is great, the coffee is roasted right there on sight (you can see the roasters while you wait in line) and they have so many other coffee items you may need! Kettles, filters, cups, and all sorts of extras. Great spot on the coffee trail through Columbus

Wonderful coffee roaster! Had the Coffee Cooler (cold brew concentrate, vanilla and raw sugar) with oat milk and an extra shot. Highly recommend!

5 star experience, no doubt about it. Dark roast was SMOOOOOOTH and so delish. Chocolate chip cookie was also great. Friendly service, great ambience, and nestled on wonderful block to top it all off. Verdict - would go back and would recommend to friends.

There iced lattes are not good. Bitter, Smokey flavor and the syrups are not taste-able. Very crammed space. Cool shop and nice patio. Good location.

We stopped in for a cappuccino, a couple of hot chocolates, and a triple mocha. The line was almost to the door, but they worked quickly. It was well worth the wait.

Some weirdo worker started yelling in the middle of the store at some guy because he took a dump in the toilet. It was so unprofessional. He did it twice too. The guy he was yelling at, to his credit, didn’t bother to say anything really but still. It was bizarre. The worker came off super aggressive and like a cry baby because he had to fix the toilet he shoulda fixed before someone had to go. Maybe he should’ve apologized for having a broken toilet in the store instead of being mad someone used it. There wasn’t even a sign on the door or anything. Couldn’t believe the grown man was crying so much

I tried this place for the first time and the coffee was pretty good. The pastries were okay, but I do appreciate the various coffee beans they have available. This is a good place for someone to go to that wants to understand more about how the roast and region influence the final taste of the coffee. The employees I interacted with were nice and friendly.

Bit on the pricey end of coffee but the brew is great. The selection is great. Only thing lacking is wish they had some bagels. Has oatmilk.

Really wanted to live this place, based on reviews and it being next door to The Book Loft. I think I visited on an off day. I ordered an iced latte, but when my order arrived was informed that the flavor I chose "didn't come in iced, only hot". Sooooo ... can we not pour the hot coffee over ice to cool it down? I asked for a cup of ice and did it myself. This isn't a problem, but the general attitude that you can't have an iced latte because the baristas just *won't* do it is a little strange.

Good coffee and pastries! Nice place to meet a friend or get some work done. Expansive outdoor seating too. Two issues: (1) Customized drinks are not a strong suit - they're usually light-handed on flavor syrups, and sometimes forget components completely (like adding a flavor syrup or oat milk to an americano, for example - happened for the third time to me this morning). (2) The recycling out front - it STINKS. The street stinks. The sidewalk stinks. The recycling bins stink. They're always there, not just on recycling day. I have no idea why Stauf's doesn't take better care of the space right in front of their doors. It smells like rotting milk. Just clean the darn cans and put them in the back. Overall, 4/5. Good for black coffee or beans.

Beautiful coffee place. They have a nice outdoor seating as well.

My absolute favorite place in the city to get coffee. I've never had a bad experience at Stauf's, the food and beverages are high quality and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I've never felt weird or embarrassed to ask them questions about different menu options or for suggestions of stuff to try. Everyone I've talked to is always ready to help and be welcoming. My go-to drink is an iced white mocha with coconut milk and lavender syrup, I definitely suggest trying out all the fun syrup options that they have! The vibes are great too for hanging out in the coffee shop to do work or catch up with a friend. Plenty of seating, and great outdoor seating too! It's situated in a great area too, with plenty of fun local businesses to explore nearby.

This review is long overdue. It was only late 2020 when I became interested in coffee and Stauf's was my introduction to the art of roasting. I cannot claim to be any sort of connoisseur, but I have found that Stauf's presentation, kind and enthusiastic staff, and, of course, the product, are far superior to nearly all others that I have experienced since my first cup. If you are seeking a wonderful environment for an equally wonderful cup or two of coffee, head to Stauf's and get your fix- Stauf's has got the Stuff!

This is a cute little coffee shop tucked in a busy downtown area. The best part is the ample patio with a feeling like being in a forest. Definitely better than you would expect in a downtown setting where real estate is a limited resource. That said, the coffee was neither great nor bad. I ordered a light roast pour over - my personal litmus test for a coffee shop. I've had better. But the ambiance made up for the lack of coffee wow factor.

Barista’s are consistently rude. Pay them more, or give them more time off. IDK. However; I do know I would rather make my own coffee. I won’t be back. Too much rudeness all around, but great coffee nonetheless. Hence the three stars…

  • 4/5 Kyle C. 9 months ago on Google
Excellent coffee shop, my wife and I come here regularly. I'd give 5 stars if this place had more bike racks. There are two bike racks, but there are tables placed around them, making them often unusable. Today I saw several bikes locked up to sign posts and benches. There is demand, just not enough parking!

Popped in for a morning coffee before we set out on the road to St.Louis. Great service, great coffee & a delicious Oatmeal White Chocolate Chip Cookie. Yum. Don’t go past this little gem in a gorgeous part of Columbus.

There are too many great options in the area to deal with AWFUL service. At exactly 6 the barista came storming back to tell us we had been given more than enough time to know they were closing and had to leave immediately. She made zero eye contact and held the door open for us to get out. This was even the language she used. Even if we had been given that heads up, the aggressive nature of feeling thrown out was uncalled for. And for the record a gentleman had come back earlier (around 5:40) to kindly let us know we had 15 minutes to order drinks. He never mentioned closing time. We were professionals wrapping up a conversation and that was embarrassing and terrible. I'll never return.

Stauf's must be one of the best coffee houses in Columbus! Sumatra French roast is one of my favorite roasts. Friendly service and very efficiently set up for safe service since covid 19. Typically not too hard to find street parking along third street.

As wonderful and welcoming as their original location. Even in midwinter it's fantastically cozy

  • 5/5 Sophie W. 3 years ago on Google
Would love to visit and dine-in if we open to that point as the interior and exterior have a great, cozy vibe with a lot of traditional coffee items inside. I ordered the iced chai tea latte with oat milk and it wasn’t very spicy, which is fine. I like spicy chai’s, but this one was still good as it wasn’t too sweet. The price is fair and the service is kind and swift. Pastry selection is small, but the quality looks nice. Best addition is the outdoor space to the side that has ample seating, umbrellas, and I think WiFi :)

Good coffee at a good price. This location in specific gets an auto 5 star because of the bookstore next door. For visitors, should be at the top of list for a casual coffee and walking through the bookstore.

Nice coffee shop in the German village. We had latte here, which was pretty good. The staff was helpful and nice, and the place seemed to follow the covid protocol well to provide enough social distancing. Will recommend to visitors to this area!

Came here for my first time and the way they have everything set up for COVID is very well done. And the coffee is delicious. So easy to stop by and get some yummy local tastes. Just skip going to Starbucks on the block corner and take the few extra steps for this little gem!
