One of my favorite places in the whole city, if not my top favorite. I’ve been coming here for years. Awesome staff, fantastic drinks and roasts, and rotating art. The breakfast sandwich is so good. The space is cozy (all brick) but not too small. Plants, art, chess boards, bikes, and seating without the too-cutesy, try hard vibe you get in some coffee shops. Also, the prices are probably the most affordable around. Almost always filled with all kinds of folks chatting. It gives 90s New York vibes. It’s truly one of a kind in Columbus, you gotta go to understand!

Made a quick pit stop here on the way home of a long drive. Glad we did! There’s a small parking lot next to the building. The vibe is very laid back, the employees are friendly. The coffee and spicy turkey sandwich were all great.

The best coffee you're going to find in OTE! They roast their own coffee beans and have great options. The food is also really good too! To top it off the employees are super friendly and welcoming. I love coming by here before work for my morning cup of coffee. Update: still coming back after many years!

It’s a vibe! I give the Upper Cup Coffee a 5 star because it’s a vibe, the Venue is a perfect location for a cup of coffee to go or a cup to sit with and get some morning emails knocked out. A GREAT addition, is that there’s parking available, like parking for free, not a meter! It’s black owned! Plus across the street, there’s other black owned businesses to visit. I had a Vanilla peppermint latte and it was delic!

The drink and sandwich I had on my visit were good. My drink had a good ratio of flavor/sweetness wasn't too strong. The sandwich was good, I liked the red pepper on it. The reason I'm not giving full stars is because of the customer service. The person at the counter was fine, said hello & took my order efficiently. It was the person who was trying to run sandwiches who had an attitude. They were wondering around the shop and called out the sandwich, I said "oh that's me" and hopped up to get it & they just rolled their eyes and made some kind of a noise. They only had to call it once because I was paying attention so I'm not sure where the frustration was coming from. If they don't want to leave from behind the counter they could just call it from there and I'm sure people would be capable of retrieving their food. Maybe this person was just having a bad day but it was a total turnoff. I'm a server in a fine dining setting so maybe I just have higher standards, but I don't usually expect an eye roll when receiving any type of service. I'll be back and try again so hopefully people are in a better mood.

I liked the place, but the staff seemed far too overwhelmed as they gave me the wrong order. Not too shabby though, it’s a cozy place. The taste wasn’t extraordinary.

This is the best coffee place in Columbus. The unique atmosphere where I feel so welcomed and allured. There isn’t any place like this. You need to check it out, you’ll be wowed!!

Awesome trip to Upper Cup Coffee for our Sunday Coffee ride with the Roll: Rabble Rousers Roast Ride. The coffee here is great, as well as the tasty freshly baked cronuts! I had their hot café mocha with 2 cronuts and they were delicious! They also had fresh baked chocolate muffins too. What also makes this place wonderful is they are a bike friendly stop! A staff person actually stepped outside to see if any of us needed to have their bike looked at while we were enjoying our treats! Definitely going to make this a regular stop for me.

I really enjoy there coffee and it’s a great price. My only wish is they had a way for faster pick up but honestly it’s a coffee I enjoy and will wait for.

I come every week for their expertly-roasted coffee (sold by the whole pound - not the usual 12oz 👍🏼) and a couple grilled PB&J sandwiches. Friendly staff, nice vibe, and rotating local art! Be patient - this ain’t no fast food joint.

Not a fan. Drink tasted like water down milk. I also paid for almond milk and pretty sure they gave me regular milk. very slow. Not sure how they handle it when they are busy or during the morning rush. The staff was nice

Upper Cup Coffee offers top-notch drinks in a quaint, welcoming environment. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, with great customer service. However, accessibility could be a concern for those who use a wheelchair--entrance and walkways are rather narrow, and it could be difficult to navigate and find seating using a chair.

This place is probably one of the best at frothing and mixing it into the espresso. The latte does not look good but it comes out extremely creamy and yet there was still the perfect amount of froth on top. The sugar ratio is also perfect. The customer service is decent but not amazing. This time the espresso tasted a little burnt but my visit might just be a one off. I hope to come back again and see how it is.

The warmth and comfort you feel from a fresh cup of coffee permeates throughout the whole shop. It's a great place to come and relax, study, play chess, or just take a pause from life.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and dessert but found that their food for the day was almost gone. We loved the coffee and hot chocolate and the owner was kind enough to take their one last remaining pastry and cut it in 3 pieces for the perfect sweet bite that we needed.

Great local spot with top-notch espresso. I used to hang out here once a week while my daughter had choir practice nearby. Now I just always stop by when in the area.

Got an Almond Milk Latte and it was very good. The only thing better would have been if they would've had the Oat Milk I wanted. Settled for Almond and it was fine. Great coffee shop with great service.

Excellent mochas, great atmosphere, top notch service. Whoever roasts their beans knows EXACTLY what their doing. Bought several bags to take back home. Come in for a quick cup to go, or stay and enjoy the lovely, socially distant seating inside where the employees take good precautionary measures to keep everyone safe. Not a single complaint about the business - enjoyed every aspect.

Stopped here after work for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Really cool vibe inside and coffee was very good. I woulda taken a photo but I drank it too fast! The breakfast sandwich was pretty good too- jalapeños and onions chopped up and whisked into the eggs are a nice touch. I might have to make this a routine every week.

No frills coffee shop with talented baristas, eclectic crowd, and a great pour over with multiple types of beans. Recommend!

I stopped in to sit and take some notes and think for a little while, and I quickly got a cup of coffee at an under market price, after having my nerdy questions about the coffee answered by the cordial host at the register. It was a drip coffee from Rwanda, and it was perfectly roasted and brewed. The place was steady and full of conversation, but it was not noisy or distracting. I enjoyed my coffee to the last drip, but I had to run out before I got to order an Ethiopian pour over. I guess I’ll have to go back for another cup. Next time I’ll include pics

The best coffee I’ve had in the Columbus area (the one on Parsons) And the staff is always so friendly. Love the atmosphere here. It’s been my favorite shop for a few years now and continues to be. Every time we try another shop out, we are always comparing it to UC… and they never hold up to the quality.

This place is just the best. Great little local spot truly invested in building a community, a must stop in Columbus in my book. The coffee is delicious (highly recommend their iced coffee) and the atmosphere is 10/10 - I love checking out the rotating art exhibits featuring local artists. When I was getting married this past spring, my partner and I came in and mentioned we were down to the wire looking for thank you gifts for our wedding party. The staff let us know they do custom bags of coffee and quickly helped us create custom labels for our favorite coffee beans to share with our favorite people 💛 Thanks Upper Cup, y'all are the best!

I absolutely love this place! My favorite coffeeshop by far. The atmosphere is chill and their drinks taste excellent. They help local artists out by advertising their artwork for sale on the walls. Would highly recommend.

Very nice vibe at this urban coffee House. A very diverse clientele and a cozy atmosphere. The coffee is good and the breakfast and egg sandwich was quite tasty. I've had espresso drinks each time I visited and they've always been outstanding. I go out of my way to visit this shop in a neighborhood that is on the rise with many classical old two-story homes being renovated.

Absolutely LOOOOOVE this place. The coffee was great, I had the cappuccino and macchiato so far, please try the breakfast sandwich they have, I like mine on a bun with turkey ....in my whispering voice....(even though it has jalapeno they are not hot or spicy at all) Great location, close to my job. They are quick friendly and definitely mastered the art of making a great cup of coffee.

Easily the best coffee shop I've been to in Columbus. For pour-overs, they offer multiple roasts, and they appropriately extract their iced coffee. Their mochas have a well-balanced flavor, and even iced with oat milk the texture is great (no grit from mocha powder or slime from low-quality oat milks). And their bags of beans are always freshly-roasted so they make great coffee for weeks. I hope they open a Grandview location!

We come to Columbus for a music festival for the past couple years and we always come here for coffee a few times during our stay. Vanilla ice coffee is 10/10 and the guy working ( didn't catch your name) is suppppper cool! He's even been to our small mountain town in Canada! Would recommend this spot !!

Great place to take friends! They have wonderful coffee and the atmosphere is awesome. They have chess boards you can check out while you're there too. The only issue is that on weekends it can get busy, but that's because it's a great spot!

Well I personally didn't go, but my wife did, to get 2 big to-go bins of coffee for a group of people because there was an all day lacrosse tournament. When she came back, she said not many people drank it. (We live in Cleveland). Now normally I wouldn't drink coffee that's been sitting around all day, but even as a minimal coffee drinker that she is, she said it was really good. It was a Brazilian blend. I just had to try it. I warmed up a cup without creamer, which is rare for me, but it was very VERY good. So flavorful and not bitter at all. I then had another cup with creamer, but still tasted its potent flavor through the creamer. I travel for work half the time, and if I'm ever in the area, I know exactly where to go now! The usual Starbucks isn't bad, but there's nothing quite like a local independent roaster! Too bad I couldn't convince her to bring home some beans. I would place an online order if I could. If I'm giving a 5/5 for a place I didn't even walk into and drank a couple cups that were THAT good even after sitting around all day (didn't even taste stale in the slightest), I would imagine you can't go wrong here.

Hands down the best coffee of my life. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We also ordered one of their breakfast sandwiches and a cronut which were both fantastic. I would like there to be more seating but I understand the limitations of the space. Thank you so much for the awesome experience!
