I do not like the renovations, cup o joe was the coziest place on earth. It was my happy place and brought me serenity. They removed the best parts of the café, the fireplace, the beautiful round table, the lamps with colorful beads, the high tables. The person responsible for the renovations did not know how unique cup o joe was they deserve a 1/10. The renovation makes the place look cold and modern, dull, simple, it's very boring and looks like just any other coffee place now. The next coziest cafe is Java Central Café and Roaster, now coming at number one as the coziest place next to kafe kearuc. The vibes aren't there anymore, Cup o joe lost its touch. Also, the uncovered fresh coffee beans and scale being stored right next to the restrooms is a bit disgusting. It was once described by everybody as cute and cozy, well due to the renovation it no longer holds those two qualities.

Loved the chocolate chip scone, not too sweet and not dry. A staff member recommended the mocha joe and it was delicious!

A cute chic coffee place in the Columbus area. I stopped by in the weekend for my morning coffee and some work call. I got a cup of mocha, and a bacon cheddar scone. I sat outside, and had my zoom call fine, although the outside traffic was a problem. But that has nothing to with the cafe. The coffee was great, and the scone was too good. I would agin go back.

I’ve been a regular here for almost 8 years. I couldn’t have finished grad school without Cup O Joe. The baristas are very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient, and the coffee and atmosphere are terrific. There’s a real sense of community here. The vibe is more no-frills than all all the try-hard upscale local coffee shops around town, which I for one appreciate. Support this place instead of picking up some generic Starbucks swill.

Come here 5+ times a week! My two coworkers and I love this place. Friendly faces and top-notch service. Everything is awesome from just a regular “Cup O Joe” to the fancier drinks.. Great place!

I used to live across the street from this place and visited 3-5 times a week. They used to be just about perfect, but it was cramped. They renovated and lost a lot of the aesthetic charm and cozy vibe. Feels a little open, cold. More like a dentists office, which may be what some people like. However, they still have great employees, and great coffee in a great location for Clintonville and campus people which creates a cool cultural blend.

They renovated, and now the space is very airy. Got a drink and scone for $6 total.

I like the space and the coffee and food are consistent and good, but unfortunately I always have really rude service. I have come here several times and this particular barista ruins the experience enough that I don't want to come back anymore.

Delightful, welcoming place! Wide selection available for coffees, very nice baristas, a lot of seating available (but we went at 8 AM). You could get work done here with a pair of headphones. Food like scones and muffins available.

My best friend lives down the street. So any time we get a chance to see each other we head to this coffee shop. The coffee and tea options are wknderful. The employees are phenomenal and are willing to answer any and all questions you may have. The establishment is cozy and the perfect setup to catch up with a friend, read a book, or get some work down. Highly recommend.

Love it. The workers are personable. Place is clean and they enforce the six foot rule while you are waiting for your order. They get the order right. Masks enforced. I do wish they had more bagels.. often run out of my favorite, Asiago. Prices reasonable. So much better than fast food!

The coffee here was awful!!!! I ordered the iced mocha joe but it was so bitter and had a weird aftertaste! It really shouldn’t have even one star! The only good thing that is they let us refund it!

New but incredibly loud and impersonal, hard surfaces, loud noise, not great. Liked the older much better. Service was okay, Chi came from a box. Limited amount of food options.

Not good coffee, at all. Especially the espresso drinks. They only make cappuccinos in 12oz cups, when a proper one should be 8oz max. Tasted watery and thin and bland, even though the staff very kindly accommodated my request to put less milk in. Honestly if they source from Staufs it’s no surprise the coffee is bland and tasteless. Best thing about the place is the cheaper prices. The atmosphere is open and sunny, just very standard, synthetic materials everywhere, boring vibes. The music was intolerably loud. Loud, thumping beat, dancing 80s music… not sure how anyone can stand to work in the place, especially with the blender going every 2 minutes and people all in one big open room with noises echoing off every flat, hard grey synthetic surface. No mugs either, everything is served in plastic. A sustainability nightmare.

This is my favorite espresso (and coffee) in town. I am extremely picky and I haven’t found an espresso I like more than here. I do miss the warmth and coziness of the original shop, the remodel is a bit sterile. But the drinks and employees are still great. <3

Almost always have a nice experience here. Love coming here in summer for long sips off a latte and listen to music, talk to friends, and just let my hair down. Great atmospheric vibe. Wish they were open til 8pm summer hrs!

Fantastic coffee and hot chocolate. The Milky Way is my husband's favorite. I'm partial to the Cherry Codial and it was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly. There was a line, but it moved quickly.

So much better than starbucks and much less line! My gf says she likes *bux chai more because tazo tastes better than oregon 🤷‍♀️ They had a better fruity tea drinks for me, this place is great. Parking in the back too!

It was crowded when I went but I still lucked out in getting a table as someone was leaving. An excellent coffee (I got a cortado with oatmilk), friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere for meeting people or doing work

A little annoyed that I was lightly teased for ordering a shakerato because "shaking the coffee doesn't do anything," but your iced espresso is awesome so I can't complain too much. For the sake of my pride as a barista, though, a shakerato is a cold americano. The hot espresso melts ice cubes and then the ice cubes are strained out using a cocktail shaker, leaving a cold diluted espresso. It's not a Starbucks thing, it's an Italian thing, lol. Don't blame you though, "shakerato" sounds fake

I’ve been a patron of this establishment for over 15 years. Good coffee. Good treats. Cool vibe. THE WORST WIFI IN COLUMBUS! And the wifi has sucked the WHOLE TIME! I come here far less frequently as a result. They can expand the space, tweak the menu, etc. but they can’t get the wifi to an acceptable functioning speed. Just terrible. Get it together people! It’s not that hard.

  • 2/5 Asapgross 1 year ago on Google
The guy with the yellow hat is annoyingly rude you can tell the “regulars” get special first name treatment and everyone else gets barely any interaction. They’re also remodeling and half the place looks like a trash bag. Just go to the galaxy coffee truck a few blocks sooner they know how to treat people well.

  • 4/5 Eric A. 1 year ago on Google
I am not local to this area. It showed up as a well reviewed coffee shop. It was easy to find. The lobby was u der construction but they were pulling expresso's left and right. I got a latte and it was very smooth. I would recommend this place for sure.

  • 2/5 Gabriel M. 1 year ago on Google
The woman who was helping me (brunette, long curly hair, tattoo on right arm) was rude unprovoked. I was playing on lingering for awhile but her attitude filled the entire room and made me uncomfortable. I’ll probably come back but I really hope I don’t have to interact with her again.

  • 5/5 Adam H. 1 year ago on Google
If you are looking at reviews, know that I have NEVER had any staff be rude to me. I won't say it didn't happen to others but just remember that some people are out of their tree. I know this because I have worked in customer service. The place is being remodeled at the moment but I can tell you it's a great place for coffee and relaxing. There will be more space for people once the remodel is done and I am looking forward to it. Staff is quick and never gets annoyed that I come right when they open. Thank you! ❤️

Today, Jan, 11, 2023, my fiance and I got drinks from here, I used to come to this location all the time about 15 years ago (round abouts) and in my opinion it has vastly gone down hill. Honestly had hopes for some nostalgia and even told my fiance "now you get to see why cup of Joe used to be my favorite"..... Not any more, and for the prices I'd rather just go to Starbucks, at least my drink won't taste like dirt and have grounds in the bottom of it. 2 star because the pastries were still good.

Cup O' Joe has amazing coffee and yummy pastries! The staff are friendly and welcoming. I've felt safe going here throughout the pandemic. At the onset of COVID-19, Cup O' Joe immediately instituted safety measures, including accepting card only, using sanitized styluses, social distancing tape, and more. It also now requires the use of masks. Highly recommend to anyone in need of caffeine and/or anyone who is COVID-19 health-conscious during this time. Thanks!

Cup O'Joe is to be commended for doing the best job I've seen in taking precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Inside seating remains closed, (but a few patio tables are now available), and the staff has developed an efficient system for processing takeout orders while maintaining social distancing. Masks are required for employees and customers, and hand sanitizer is available at the counter. A plexiglass barrier has recently been added at the counter as well. I feel welcome and safe getting my Sammy's bagel and a large dark roast here almost daily. Thanks for putting people first! Cash only, for now. Update: Cash payments are once again being accepted.

Stumbled into this place because we had some time to kill. It was packed which is a good sign, but unfortunately there was nowhere for us to sit to enjoy our drinks. I asked the guy working about his favorite drink and he recommended the Cold Joe. Coffee with a shot of vanilla and a little cream, a lot of caffeine and not too sweet. That’s right up my alley and I loved it.

Excellent coffee but it's soooo crowded. Even if you can find a place to sit (which is unlikely), the chance of you finding a table you can share with a friend and god forbid a laptop plug are slim. Go in, get your coffee, and go home.
