This place was the house of the queen maynamati of comilla...The place is now almost broken and excavated ...But the remaining parts showcase the glorious architecture of that time...had a good time there...

A very beautiful place to go to for anyone who liked Shalbon Bihar. And the best part is, there in no ticket system. So it is free to enter. There are the remnants of an ancient Palace. And also a temple at the back. And since the place is not that popular, it also provides some degree of privacy.

Mainamati is a historical place located in Comilla, Bangladesh. The former name of Mainamati is Rohitgiri.Mainamati is one of the oldest civilizations in the Lalmai region. The ruins that are now seen in the Mainamati region are actually the remains of an ancient city and a Buddhist monastery.According to archaeologists, it is the ruins of an ancient city called Jayakarmantabasak. It is believed that Srivavadeva, the fourth king of the Deva dynasty, built this Buddhist monastery from the end of the 7th century AD to the beginning of the 8th century AD.There are six phases of construction and reconstruction of Shalban Bihar. The central temple was built in the third phase by the 8th century AD and is believed to have undergone a total renovation of the monastery. The fourth and fifth stages of construction and renovation were completed in the ninth-tenth centuries.

No restrictions policy is highly appreciated, otherwise coul have missed a great opportunity. This is respectful to the local community that been using this VALLEY as sports field. However, as the restoration is going on, still a training arena for motorcycling cannot be accepted. Don't miss out vastness and greatness next time when you are there.

I have always fascinated by historical monuments. Comilla is one of the most enriched places with historical infrastructure in Bangladesh. Moynamati, shalbon bihar & other small & medium infrastructure from different ages of Bengal situated here. The palace of Maynamati is one of the most discussed places for the archaeologists. It is quite good place for sightseeing and photoshoots. The palace is situated within a large boundary. The building is made by terracota. If you want to pay a visit there, come to Cumilla Cantonment Gate & then take auto/rickshaw to get the palace within 40/50 tk.

The palace of Rani Mainamati It is located on the eastern side of the Comilla-Sylhet highway in Burichang upazila of Comilla district, just 3 km from Mainamati War Cemetery. In the 10th century, the palace was built for the comfort of Mainamati, the wife of Manik Chandra, a king of the Chandra dynasty. It is believed that this archeological site of the Mainamati Union is an ancient monument from the 8th to the 12th century

Considering the historical significance of this place it has very little maintenance. It looks like an open field. It doesn't require any entry ticket.

A historic place. One of the largest Buddhist archaeological sites in the area. It is known as the place of Chandra Queen, Mainamati who was the mother of the last Chandra King Govinda Chandra. Locally it is known as Ranir Kuthi or Ranir Bangla. I loved the greenery of this place. It is higher than the plain land. Enjoyed a lot.

It is almost a thousand years old heritage..Yet there's no authority to look after it.There's no restrictions whatsoever. You don't have to buy tickets to get in.Also, there's nothing significant things to see there except the thousand years old palace.
