If I could give this place negative stars I would. I couldn't even begin to think of/feel how the individuals in this facility are treated, outside of how my daughter was treated. My daughter was here for almost two weeks from another facility and it set her back almost a year. My daughter told me the staff would laugh when patients were "pantsed," she was told by staff they wish she wasn't there, and there were even incidents (altercations) where staff didn't tell us about. Staff couldn't cite policy and procedure (including two Directors at the facility). The worst part of all, the facility never told us my daughter was discharged to her original facility and didn't know if it was their facility who transported her or the other facility. I beg you, if you feel this is the place for your loved one, PLEASE DONT DO IT. You will regret it and it would destroy your child.

My brother was in this facility. Four days in a row I called the hospital and no one answered the phone. I finally called the referral line and the gentleman was based in Tennessee. He called the Nurses station and hospital multiple times and he did not get an answer. His comment was this should never happen - someone should always be answering the phone. He took my phone number and said he would email my number to administrator and have her call me. No one every contacted me. My brother came out sicker than when he went in. I am my brotherโ€™s legal guardian and have work with several hospitals and treatment facilities - this was the worse. 0 out of 10

Half of the 5 star reviews are people that work there to boost the ratings of this place knowing fully that they are understaffed and uncaring about the staff that's there. I .pray for every patient that steps foot in this facility that they don't regress. This place needs the head people to do a pop up to shut it down. ZERO ๐ŸŒŸStars

If I could rate it lower I would. The most therapeutic experience was finding friends to share my story with, and I cherish them dearly, but my experience was awful. The night staff were so loud I couldn't sleep some nights, the corruption of some staff members appalls me. When a few others acted up, they tried to take away our phone calls! There were no one on one therapy sessions for me and many of the others. We were divided into "good and bad kids" for a while purely by association. One nurse there would outright threaten kids. While there were some nice staff there, the overwhelming majority were outright horrendous. Please don't send your kids here if you want long term help.

I want to leave this review so parents out there thinking of sending their kids here can have a more well painted picture. During my time at Riverview I was harassed multiple times. I had an older patient there make comments about my weight and make up songs about my body while staff laughed with her. I had multiple male patients there harass me and staff did nothing about it. I was refused phone calls home as well as water when I was thirsty. I have severe anaphylaxis was having an allergic reaction and asked for Benadryl and was told I was being dramatic. I was put on meds that made me pass out in the halls and faint randomly and staff still insisted I took them. Hunter, The group โ€œtherapistโ€ there publicly called me out in group by telling everyone there something my father had privately disclosed to him. When I started crying hunter had no apologies to offer. The beds are rock hard, I lost 10 pounds during my treatment because the food was so gross as well. If youโ€™re considering this facility think again. Riverview deeply scarred me and your children and loved ones will likely be scarred by this facility too.

My daughter (37) was told the first day by a staff member that they wished sher didn't come there. She said there were no groups or seeing a therapist was completely a dream or rather nightmare. I tried to let her know the worst she could experience and she said it was (WORSE ) By far than I could explain. She did get on therapeutic medication. I'm bipolar and I've been ill a few times. This is her first bout of hospitalization. I hope she can get past her bad experience and will seek treatment regardless of her experiannce.

This facility is a freaking joke. My son, 28, has been there twice. Both time released before he should have been. The staff does not give any indication of caring 2 cents about what happens to the patients. Enough of a rant I'm busy trying to find a rehabilitation facility that might actually want to help my son. Will not recommend this facility!

I have had multiple family members and friends that have used Riverview. I have heard nothing but great things about the staff and the care they provided. I feel awful for those that have had a negative experience in the previous months or years, but I can assure you they have made changes and got some things right. I hope everyone that needs treatment, for whatever reason, is able to find it here.

My elderly father with dementia was sent here after we were concerned he would hurt himself or our mother. He was sent by UT Health Center here for behavioral health care. Despite many calls to try and speak with his therapist, Dr., or even a case manager to keep us updated on how he was doing we couldn't get through to anyone by phone. We ended up driving the 3 hours to try and speak with someone in person, we were told the therapist and doctor would call and speak with us regarding his treatment plan and assured that before he was discharged there would be a person in communication with us prior to discharge to help set up outpatient services and help to get him diagnosed. We received almost zero communication until the day they discharged him... without any notice. He returned home with the same behavior. I am leaving this review because It was almost impossible to get through on the phone and actually speak with someone... and if by chance you could speak with someone in the office, they would promise a call back but never followed through. I will also note I've tried to speak with administration concerning this however received no call back. The only positive thing I can report is that my dad told us he was treated well by staff.
