I enjoyed the room overall and loved the location! The receptionist was wonderful and very kind. However, I’m leaving a bad review because I think the establishment acted questionably during the booking process. I explicitly booked the more expensive superior room for its two balconies. In the description on the website, this room was recommended for the best views of the city. However, only one and a half weeks before the check in date, I was informed that construction would be occurring on the building. By that time, prices for hotels in Madrid had skyrocketed and I was unable to book alternative accommodation. During my stay, there was scaffolding installed on the building and workers were regularly moving within arms length (even less!) from my window. As a result, I had to close all windows for any semblance of privacy

Rooms are clean, spacious and the location is very conveniently located, and walkable to most of the famous landmarks. Only downside is that there isn’t a daily cleaning service, nor do they provide fresh towels every day. One more suggestion would be to have some type of table inside the room for working, or simply laying out different items while traveling.

I chose this hotel for our last night in Spain just because it was cheap and close to the train station and had positive reviews. I genuinely regret it and wish I had paid more money for something nicer. This has seriously been the biggest let down of my trip. The room itself is clean enough (minus the ridiculous amount of dust). However, there is no kettle, no iron, and limited amenities in the bathroom. There is construction happening now on the building. I got an email from the hotel saying it wouldn’t disturb our sleep, but we could hear the hammers and noise early this morning, it woke us up. There is no front desk after 6 pm, so too bad if you need anything. There’s an emergency number you can call, but no phone in the room. How do you manage with an international phone and no service? You don’t. And this is the first hotel in Spain we have stayed at where the check out is 11 am, not 12pm. I was given an 11:30 AM “late” checkout this morning, but even after I offered to pay extra I couldn’t get later because they were sold out. Also there are sound blocking windows (on top of the old windows) that help a little with street noise, but not much. Even in the “premium” rooms you will still hear traffic and street noise. Be careful with the bathroom hand shower, ours came apart from the hose the first time I tried to use it and I had to put it back together. The complete lack of service is just upsetting, especially after the dozens of texts they send prior to check in. It was extremely stressful trying to deal with the online check in process and waiting for access codes while traveling and having limited wifi access. And make sure you write the code down somewhere because if you lose your phone or your battery dies or something then you’re out of luck. If you are looking to save money and want to be close to Atocha station and don’t care about service or amenities then this place is fine. But personally, I wouldn’t book here again and I’m now leaving Spain in a bad mood because this has been a horrible end to an otherwise great vacation.

The room was booked under my bfs sister. It did not meet expectations unless you are truly staying out all day and just looking for a place to crash. We didn’t have a proper window, it was covered by long curtains which touched the ground and were very dirty at the bottom, clearly rarely washed. The bed was a queen bed, the room was so small that you had to “shimmy” around the small gap between the bed and the walls/ window to crawl into the bed. It felt like jail cell with no window.- as mentioned when you pull the curtains back it barely opens to A corridor blocked by another door where people enter, you can hear them coming in at all hours of the night n the door slams. We asked to move rooms on the second day, they were full somehow. This room did not look like online photos, in fact I think we got the worst room in the building it was so small, and just off the front desk area and across the public washroom. In the morning you can hear all movement of other tourists staying and mostly the cleaning staff banging around and speaking loudly in the hall. So say goodbye to sleeping in, they were already operating by 945 and super loud as if you had to get moving and packing by that time to get out. Cleanliness was ok, but lacking detail in dusting of the rooms, Along with finding hair n the bathroom and behind the main door, and on floor/one of the walls. If you are claustrophobic do not book here. I had to ensure I stayed out all day, just to knock myself out in the night. I did not sleep well here at all during our stay. You couldn’t go home to your room to relax without any window Opening up to the outside, and clearly not enough space. It felt like a boxed jail cell. Also, renovations going on inside and out. I would never recommend staying here to anyone, and this was my first time to Madrid.

While the room size may be relatively small considering the price, its excellent location near Atocha station compensates for it. The customer service is remarkably friendly and helpful. A nice addition is the complimentary coffee and snacks available, although only during staff hours. The hot water runs out quickly if everyone is bathing at the same time, and it takes hours to reheat.

Great service, since our first contact Nice rooms. Fair price. Good costumers service. Alex, the receptionist, was extraordinarily helpful advising us and looking for a 2nd night stay in a different apartment. Just brilliant. We'll repeat with them for sure.

Had a great experience at UMA Suites. Everything was clean and newly renovated, and the staff all extremely helpful. Would stay here again without hesitation

Lovely place, in an excellent location. Room was clean and spacious, everything arranged for a good experience. The front desk was extremely polite and helpful (and comprehensive as we didn’t see the emails about the online check in), and we had the option of leaving our luggage in lockers prior to check in while we were going around the city. Excellent experience.

Honestly the best thing about this place is the location, it's right next to the Atocha station in Madrid which makes it really easy to go in and out of the city I really like it. Other than that the room was very tightly decorated but I thought it was a little bit small and cozy. In addition to that the rooms are located right next to the Reina Sofia museum which I highly recommend it's one of the best ones in the city and it houses some of the best artwork in human history.

The room was clean although small. Location was fabulous as was the service. My only criticism was the amount of noise from the street. This was probably my fault as I left my balcony door ajar so the room was cooler.

Assist Request: Heya Default (GPT-3.5) Heya ChatGPT Hello! How can I assist you today? I got a text. Could you spell and grammae check it for me? ChatGPT Of course! Please paste the text here, and I'll be happy to spell and grammar check it for you. 2 people, 4 nights, €288 IN SHORT: Great stay, not really anything to actually complain about (but will mention some things) Brilliant service (ill elaborate later). Solid location close to many musea, some gardens, fun little stores, monuments and probably lots more. Service was great, staff speaks english very well. We felt welcome, and listened to. ABOUT THE ROOM: We had a fine room with a nice vieuw over a main street (unfortunately there was construction that obscured the vieuw somewhat but in all honesty it didnt bother us, and its not within the power of UMA Suites.) The street is loud but the sound is almost entirely gone when the double window/door is closed. Airconditioning present. A smart TV for those who enjoy to relax after a day of doing whatever. All the usuals were taken care of with a small handful of oversights that may bother other people more then it bothered us. These things were: (May be clear, these things are tiny in comparison to all the things that were totally fine and well done beyond what we could ask) 1. One of the 4 bottles of bathroom related liquids was nearly empty. Im sure this was just a minor oversight and we used it with some water/used our own. 2. The (lovely) double door has points where the steel doorknob of 1 door hits the glass of the other. We fixed it temporarily just to be safe. 3. One small trashcan in the bathroom, and thats all. We had some trash laying around after a while. Minor inconvenience. 4. I had to fix up the toilet brush, 10 seconds of work, but you know...its a toilet brush, so id rather not have to, but again, minor inconvenience and surely just an oversight None of these things truly bothered us, but they might bother some people. ABOUT THE SERVICE: I called the hotel on the day about an hour before we woukd be there, there was one room left and we tried to book it online but didnt have a credit card, the man who picked up was honestly lovely and being the hero he is, stayed about 30 to 45 minutea longer at his desk (instead of going home) to get us in the room. He took care of it while we sat there and gave the info he needed. He was friendly, fun to talk to and gave us a discountes price because that was the price that the internet had offered us an hour go, yet it changed by the time we arrived. So to be clear, he offered us the room for the price we had seen online, and not the actual price which would have been higher. (Not sure how much, but quite substantial). He reccomended a place for us to go to in madrid to see, but unfortunately didnt have the time to check it out. Overall my interactions with all the staff where either neutral or positive, usully positive. ABOUT THE LOCATION: we never had to take public transport in the few days we stayed. Many reasons to do so but we had fun enough in the area. "IKONO" being one i reccomend, its literally around the corner. One can find all sorts of food although meat is the easiest to find. There are some lovely vega(n) places too, though. The "Santa y Pura Vegan Bar" for example. One cam find some cool street art, and if you searh well enough a pair of aliens enjoying themselves, and a small store that seems to ONLY sell coil springs (we never went inside, it was closed both times we went) CONCLUSION: A fine stay, might come back in the future. ChatGPT Sure, here's the text with the spelling and grammar checked: 2 people, 4 nights, €288 IN SHORT: Great stay, not really anything to complain about (but will mention some things). If you are looking for a place to stay that is close to Atocha or just in Madrid in general this place is good value for money. Nice staff and good coffee facilities!

Small operation (family-owned?) but run very efficiently. Everything is done with door codes that are emailed to you. There is not always staffing at the front though, and Spanish law requires them to collect your passport before a hotel can admit you, so be sure to send your passport photo to them when you book. Clean. Great location. Good air conditioning. Nice modern fixtures. Fast free wifi. Lockers to store your things and bathroom to use before/after check out. I was worried booking with a smaller establishment, but everything worked very smoothly, I feel like I got a higher quality experience than I would have expected given the price.

Confusing to find. We did not find any signage on the building, finally got in when another guest came out, saw that we looked lost, and asked if we were looking for the Uma hotel. Apparently you need a code for the keypad just to get into the building. We had no idea. Very friendly staff, they let us check in early. Very noisy room. It may have been better if we'd been in a room on the other side of the hallway, but our window faced the very busy street and the sound insulation is not good. Not a big deal until nighttime, when the street noise never really died down. This is probably the reason that they have a small bowl of earplugs in the hall, free for the taking. The earplugs helped a lot to block the sound of traffic, bottles being dumped into recycling bins (pretty loud), partiers yelling and having a good time, etc. We finally got to sleep about 2am. Edit after reading response from hotel Uma: Maybe the noise calms down other nights. It did not sound like that to me while we were there. Also, on the same street is the hotel Hilton Atocha Tapestry. It is much more quiet. They have better windows and sound insulation. The Uma is less expensive so I would expect fewer amenities and older rooms, but saying that the noise is just because the street is lively is not the whole story. We did not need earplugs at the Hilton on the same street.

Stayed here one night and highly recommend. Other reviews mention noise but there are double windows and I didn’t hear anything. The bed is comfortable and getting in via security code instead of keys was really great. Also very friendly staff

Our rooms at Uma suites was excellent! Minimal, modern and efficient! The bed was very comfortable and new, and the bathroom had everything we needed. Products and towels of very good quality. We are very satisfied! The staff is friendly and very helpful! The location is also convenient, you can walk to all main museums and points of interest or take the metro. Nearby there are places to eat so we found it ideal to stay here. There is some noise from the street especially at weekends but you are in Spain, people really live having fun! Totally recommended!

From the reception I met friendly people and willing to help you in case you need advice about your trip to Madrid. We had the pleasure of being accommodated in a special room, located on 2 streets. I would not hesitate to rent the room again, if I had the opportunity. Uma Suites is located close to many sights that you can reach on foot. I recommend with confidence!

UMA Suites Atocha is the perfect hotel for a short stay in Madrid. The check in process is extremely straight forward and the staff is always available via email or phone. The room itself is nicely renovated and very clean. The location is only 5 minute walk from Atocha Railway Station and across the street from Retiro park and Museo del Prado. Highly recommend this hotel!!

I was with my friend, and we had a great stay in Madrid, the room was very clean, the team very welcoming, warm, helpful and available. A very good communication. I recommend this place, well located in Madrid to do everything by walk and next to the train station, with a good value for money !!! We will for sure come back here !!!

Super nice design, the whole space makes you feel really comfortable and relaxed. The location is very well connected to everything - the Atocha train station, the museums, the park and the city’s center. Definitely recommend Uma House, I really enjoyed staying at this place even for a short amount of time. The self check-in/out goes smoothly.

The hostel is really lovely. Its small but nice. The check-in is super easy. The neighborhood is great, because its close to everywhere, but that also means a lot of noise. it was SO loud and noisy and it was like there were no windows. That was the reason why we had to chance the hotel after one night. We couldnt sleep even tho we were really tired. The reception was really really nice and cooperativ. So acctualy for the place, the hotel and the reception i would give 5 point. But sadly bc of the noise and the poor insulation i can not reccomend the hostel and only give 3 point.

The best place to stay in Madrid. The location is top (2 steps from Atocha train station, El Retiro park and all major sights, just in front of Reina Sofia museum). It is a historic building with the rooms perfectly restructured and furnished. The cleanness is immaculate. The staff is super professional and helpful (in particular Alex). My 1st choice for Madrid always. Thanks, Uma House, and see u next time!

Pros: room was very clean and very quiet being on an interior courtyard (which is a plus in this noisy neighborhood). It was recently renovated and in good repair. Receptionist provided a city map and good advice for sightseeing. Cons: Room was tiny and had barely any daylight come through the window. Hotel sent daily emails, which was annoying, plus separate emails for the instructions to get into the building, into the floor and into the room which was confusing. Please simplify the process and send fewer emails. In the morning (8:30) the access to the coffee room was closed and so was the reception.
