Cool spot to grab a deli style sandwich. Old school feel. Good sized sandwiches. Place gets buzzing around lunch time. I ordered the "Rocky Balboa", it was good. I believe they offer a spicy alternative as well. One thing i know, if anything about sandwiches, the bread or rolls has to be good. And this place nails it. Try it out!

This place is really special. I've been working a job in Topanga for years... Just to the south of the off-ramp is a Subway sandwich shop. I've always frequented that but driven by Dan super subs on my way to and from home Depot for years. I can't believe that I hadn't tried it. Yes sure, it's a little bit more expensive but literally... A little bit more expensive and exponentially more tasty.. The bread that uses amazing it's a giant piece of bread that hugs all of their large amounts of ingredients that they pack into the delicious sandwiches. They have meats in a deli counter there that they cut on site. They have the "Hollywood wall of fame" there with many celebrities going back decades autographing headshots or pictures. If you are in the area and want to try a real sub sandwich this is the place to go! Don't settle for an imitation

The pictures don't justify how amazing these sandwiches are! I've been coming here for a few years now and tried many of their sandwiches. My ultimate favorite is the "LA Street Pastrami" the regular size is perfect but if your really hungry go for the jumbo size. Every single item that goes into the sandwich is fresh and the softness of the bread makes the sandwich different from others. They have a huge menu so l'm sure you will find your perfect sandwich. Great customer service, the owners know the regulars by name. Parking is limited so can be frustrating at time. Lunch time can get super busy so be ready to wait or order online for a quick pick up. Highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

The food is amazing. Got the mama Mia and it’s probably the best sub I’ve ever had. The subs are made in a timely manner, the choices are great. The ingredients are fresh, the bread is awesome nice and soft. The meats are tasty. I don’t have any complaints and the service is great. The staff is friendly. They’ve been around for over 42 years so they know what they are doing. It’s a smaller shop so seating isn’t always guaranteed but it’s got a cool retro vibe to it. 10/10 recommend. Can’t go wrong here.

All time favorite. Best sandwich shop in L.A. .. and if anyone, ever says otherwise, they are straight being haters. Anything you get here is very good. Love soft sandwich bread.

I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say this is the best sandwich I've had in my life...I've tried a couple of different ones now and I've never once been disappointed. The bread is soooo soft and buttery, the ingredients fresh and delicious, the vibe of the place is super nostalgic and everyone there has been nice. Keep tipping them well--they deserve it

This is very popular among the people in the area its always busy and can get crowded inside when waiting for subs, but the staff works fast and tries to complete orders to prevent that. Service is friendly and ordering is quick and simple. 100% recommend this shop and everyone should at least try it.

This place one of the SFV’s most famous, and beloved fixtures. I remember coming here as a kid - people loved it then and they love it now. The owner is still working the counter, riffing with regulars and putting newcomers at ease. And obviously, the sandwiches are great 👍🏽. Great quality ingredients, a well developed menu, and a distinctly gooey roll. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been!

It's a good subs but I will not coming back I didn't like the sandwich it was just the bread instead of things that they promised to put in.

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley but have been living in the South Bay for the last 30 years. Oh how I've missed Dan's Super Subs and happened to be in the area yesterday and made it a point to stop in and grab 3 subs to take home for my friends to try for themselves. You sure didn't disappoint! Thank you for not changing your recipe for those incredibly delicious tuna subs!! Dan's Super Subs still rocks!! 👍

You can taste the freshness of everything on their subs including the bread itself. Highest quality ingredients and generous portions. Never have any problems with their service but if you drive anything larger than a sedan, I recommend parking on the street

Highly over rated sub to be honest, good service and nice people. But to be honest they don’t know their way around a real sub sandwich. It was meh at best … the best part of the sandwich was the fact that they have good bread. This is now my motivation to open up a Sub shop on the block to show the world how it’s done.

Dan’s has been a family favorite for many years, introduced to me by my mom. Their tuna is absolutely delicious and our orders have never been inconsistent. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. Hands down one of the best places for a sub in the LA area!

Love this place except this time when I got sub with dark avocados

My favorite sub place! I try to come here every time I'm in town from Texas. Even though they are always busy, it never takes them long to get my order out. The guys who run the place are easy going and efficient. Prepare to park down the road as this place is not a secret.

YES! This place is legendary. I had a chance to talk to the owners' nephew/son a bit around lunchtime. Really nice guy, and from a great family. I believe he said they're going to celebrate some 40+ years being open. Cheers to another 40 for sure. This is a family-owned and operated spot. Everyone in the place is friendly with a smile. The Food: Magnificent! You can definitely taste the quality of their meat and cheeses. Also, the care they put into the bread is just beyond belief. It's chewy, it's soft, and it has a nice outer texture. I recommend getting your sandwich toasted for sure to bring out more of the flavors in the cheese and meats. Today I got the turkey and cheese, with all the toppings. Fantastic! You can really tell that the turkey is fresh, has a true old school Deli texture to it, and is definitely A Cut Above any of the other local spots in the area. Honestly, for the amount of meat and cheese they put on their sandwich, they really do put the other places in the area to shame. Especially for the price! Where else can you get a 13 inch classic sub for 13 bucks? All the other delis in the area charge upwards of $16 for something that doesn't even compare to Dan's. 2 pickle wedges on a Large sandwich. Who else does that? Dan's aims to please. Parking: can be tricky around lunch time. They're lot on the side of the building holds maybe four or five cars. It's a little bit tricky backing out. You might be better off parking on the street at one of the meters. Call in your order ahead of time, even better! Atmosphere: If you do decide to sit inside, it's very retro, black and white Checker tables, small little place with a elevated counter to sit at as well closer to the street. But it's definitely a small, packed space. There are a few tables and chairs outside as well. Simplicity is best, and less is more. You'll have to try this place out for yourself and see how wonderful it truly is. A local gem for sure! In short, when it comes to sandwich places in the West San Fernando valley, this place is number one!

This is one of the three best sub shops in the valley! They really pile on the meats, cheeses and topping and are always busy. These must use some quality meats because everything I order is so very tasty. The price for a foot long is excellent and well worth it. Enough for two people. macaroni salad is mediocre - supposedly homemade, but tastes like store bought. If you arrive during lunch expect a line out the door, but you usually get your sandwich within 5-10 minutes. My only complaint is that the parking sucks -revision- but I guess we can park down the street at the Thrifty Gas station! Nice! Thanks!

This place is awesome. All the customers are regulars and it seems like the community all surrounds and loves this place. The sandwich was super good. This is a must try.

I just had the best sandwich ever!!!! I was so hungry that I was shaking and walked 5 mins to get a sandwich here. It was warm and delicious!!!! I don’t know if this is because I was too hungry or not but this is the best sandwich I ever had!!!!! I will definitely come back!!!!!

I have been going to this place for about 20 years now. Honestly the only sandwich I ever get is the #19 It's my favorite. Delicious and always on point. Their potato salad is awesome too, the quality and customer service are top dollar there and the speed of how efficient they are is impressive For new customers I hope you'll love it as much as the regulars do

I've heard amazing things about this place from coworkers and i was finally able to try it. The verdict is: its fine... It truly is nothing special other than the size of the sandwich which you have the option to make huge. All of the meat is just generic grocery store meat on some soft bread. Its not bad it's just fine.

Extremely rude owner. He has an horrible attitude and treats customers poorly. Their food is mostly bread with little meet and tastes just normal. I would not recommend to give business to such a rude and horrible person. Try jersey mikes down the street you’ll be much happier.

I don’t know about their subs, but I was verry disappointed their hot pastrami! I could imagine it might be a good sandwich if they weren’t so incredibly skimpy on the meat. I’ve heard from others that their subs were good, but I doubt I’ll ever be back to find out.

Absolutely the best sandwiches around. An endless menu with such variety makes this place amazing. The bread is the softest you'll have anywhere too. The same employees are there every time I go. If possible, bring a quarter and pay a meter on the street. Their parking lot is tiny, and you'll likely have to back into traffic coming down Ventura Boulevard.

Hands down one of, if not, the best sub shop in the valley. Prices did go up recently but not to the level of how could they do this. Delivery is available but nothing beats ordering at the counter and taking in all the pics and ambiance of this amazing little shop.

Best sub sandwich on this planet!!! Dan is always behind the counter, taking orders getting pick up orders secured, wiping down tables, and the casual chi chat. A part of the west valley for over 60,000 people. If you haven't been to Dan's, you haven't lived yet!!

Consistent, softest bread roll in town. I've been coming here since the mid 90s and the large chicken salad sandwich is my all time favorite. The crew is phenomenal and the treat you like Family! You will not be disappointed.

Customer service is very poor and they don't follow online instructions well. They try to move fast and it's not efficient. You have to physically go there if you want your food done right. I ordered on Uber eats and they did not include all of my sandwiches. I ordered 2 La street Pastramis and it arrived stapled shut with only ONE sandwich. They were not courteous about it and the guy on the phone was rude and said "we can't help you". Thankfully Uber eats returned my money

Very nice place with tasty sandwiches! Family business! A lot of differences of sandwiches and tastes, buns are soft and fresh, veggies are juicy, meat poultry and tuna are delicious 👍🏽
