A 'Cenote' (sink hole) in Mexico, but called an Eye in DR. There is a 4th Eye which you can pay extra to get a small boat ride and do a walk. DR & Haiti used to be underwater so the rock is coral based, making it very different to other Caribbean islands, and the porous nature means it decays faster, and such can give way to cave collapsing, thus creating the Eyes. One of the lakes was said to have sulphur but it's clean enough to drink and fish swim in it too.

Kleine Oase im Großstadt gewimmel. Die Seen sind über ein paar Treppen leicht begehbar. Sehr sehenswert sind die Höhlenformationen und die Flora und Fauna.

A magnificent place to see a natural cave with transparent water inside. There are a lot of stairs, so be ready to walk on large stairs. You can bring your kids above 5 (recommended) if they like this kind of adventure. In the deep of the cave, there is a "boat" that transfers you to the other side of the cave where you can see a magnific lake outside of the cave, so bring your cam to take amazing pics. This place is very hot and humid in summer, so bring relaxed clothes. The place is very secure and crowded, especially with tourists, so relax and enjoy the view.

Why visit this Cenotes: 1) Very close to Santo Domingo, capital of Dominican Republic. So, if visiting the city, this Cenote is a must visit 2)Clear blue water.Cool green surroundings 3) Beautiful scenic place Tip: 🎉 Do not miss the 3 rd eye.You will need to take a boat to that Cenote. And pay USD 1 to the oarsman per person. 🎉 Swimming in the Cenotes is not allowed. So, no need to carry swimwear. 🎉Entry ticket has to be obtained online. At the entry gate they will guide you to a QR code if you don't have online tickets.

This is a beautiful place!!!! There is one of the lakes you need to cross in a boat , in very dark cave and they looks like paradise. We went with some friends and we enjoyed a lot this place.

Signage on the history of the cave, as well as wayfinding, are provided in English in Spanish. The stairs of the cave are steep and occasionally slippery, so even highly mobile visitors must take care. No ramps or alternative routes are available for those who cannot navigate the 346 stairs. Entry is RD$100 (US$0.45) per person with discounts for citizens and residents, and the ferry costs a few pesos more. Parking is free, and the parking lot is large. Whether driving yourself or taking a rideshare service, be sure that the GPS coordinates are for Paqueo Parque Los Tres Ojos, the parking lot, as putting in the name of the park will instead loop you around the park. As for amenities, the on-site bathrooms were recently renovated and were the cleanest among all the Dominican tourist spots that I visited. Swimming in the lakes is prohibited. If you love exploring the outdoors in a safe, regulated environment that still takes a moderate amount of athletic ability to navigate, this is a great stop.

We had a guided tour of 3 of the 4 springs in the cave. The park, cave, and springs were beautiful, but our guide did rush us through. My husband and I enjoy the beautiful sites and history/educational tour of the cave. There are people at the end that walk through who are trying to sell you items. So be ready for that as well.

Beautiful, extremely humid, I Would suggest making sure that you're in pretty good shape to do this adventure it is a lot of work going up and down all those stairs. We paid $13 each person for the tour.

This was a place I found reading some one else's review of the area. Having visited many caverns all around the US this was a very special place to find. There are a lot of steps but it's well worth it. I had hiking sandles but I saw others in flip flops manage with no trouble. We booked a tour but I didn't realize it was for the wrong day but we already drove there so decided to take the walk without the tour. It would have been nice to hear some of the history of the cavern but it was easy enough to follow the paths to all 4 of the rivers. I was amazing to see the water in the light as all of the caverns I visited are not open air.

The caves here would definitely be worth a 5 star reputation but the people selling the tickets just spoil this. I'm going to explain what I mean: It's a beautiful national park with these amazing 4 lakes to explore from the top and from above. It's clean and safe and a nice change to city life. You'll get down quite a few steps to look at the lakes, take pictures. It's a bit slippery and humid in there. If you want you'll pay extra to get on a little boat to take u to the last cave- that's definitely worth it. And it's just 50pesos. Entrance fee for the national park is 200pesos, so not too expensive. But there's lots of people who turn around at the entrance and don't get to see the beauty. Why? Well there's heaps of tour guides working with the ticket people. So they would just pretend and tell u you're not allowed to pay cash even though the guides pay cash. Then they would tell you, you can't get a ticket unless you book a guided tour. Or that you're just allowed a certain amount of tickets and you'll end up with more tickets when you need. All of this in Spanish and always pointing at a QR code to pay online. As we had no mobile data we didn't try this and went through the hassle of arguing with them for a while...

Lumps in the middle of the town, so fresh and incredible to see this open heart with clear water, beautiful trees and birds. A real good escape in Santo Domingo

Incredible!! If you’re in Santo Domingo take an Uber over and walk through at your own pace. On your ride there google/read about the history about the caves. Trust me when I say that doing it this way will end up being a much better experience than booking with a big tour group.

Traveling often can often leave you less impressed but this park was definitely something different than what we have seen. It’s definitely original and very well kept. The cave was very hot so that was a bit disappointing that we were dripping wet when we got out of there. But we definitely enjoyed this beautiful experience of nature. If you’re in SD I would recommend you check it out.

It's almost in the center of Santo Domingo and we were surprised how nice place it is. There are nice caves and water comes here from lake. Unfortunately you can't swim here but there are some other places in Dominican where you can swim (Chicho cave in Coutbanama national park)

Beautiful nature in the middle of the city! The caves, water and nature is beautiful! Highly recommend people going here. Be sure to purchase tickets before you go, so you can have the QR code ready for them to print out or else you end up spending forever trying to load the website and forever to pay, especially if you are tourists. Other than the check in, the place itself has a great view and is self guided, but they do have a tour guide if you need it.

It was a fun experience. The tour guide told us the history of the cave along with information regarding the flora and fauna that thrive there. We learned about the benefits of the water etc. The park had clean public restrooms and the entry cost was reasonable. They also had craft vendors selling souvenir items . On the lawns were native artwork and native trees.

A must see place in Santo Domingo! Super beautiful place and perfect for spending few hours! A suggestion - wear comfy shoes as there is a lot of climbing stairs, bring mosquito repellent and come early in morning (it opens at 8 AM) as around 10 it's already full with people! Definitely worth taking the little boat in the cave for 50 pesos that bring you to the biggest and most beautiful of the lakes!

A nice short getaway from the Colonial Zone. It’s 15 mins away and costs less than $4 via Uber. There is an entrance fee of $200 DOP/person and an optional boat ride to the fourth lake which is $50 DOP/adult and $25 DOP/child. You can walk the entire park in less than 45 mins. Bring bug repellent, water and cash. Credit cards are not accepted as of 1/5/22.

INCREDIBLE place to visit! Super cool cave area! Lots of stairs, but it's great exercise! I am so glad I visited while on vacation here! 100dom locals, 200dom visiters. 50dom to do the extra boat ride to another cave, which I highly recommend doing!

This National Park is exquisite. It is a combination of four lakes and it absolutely beautiful. 3 where you walk down and into them and one overhead view of the big lake. You can also take a ferry for 50 pesos to cross one of the lakes for a different view. Entrance is 200 RD for non locals. There is plenty of parking because I was driving but there is also a tour bus that comes as well. And although the park is a good size not too crazy, there are alot of stairs so bring comfortable walking shoes. They have a cafeteria with water soda beer and snacks but not a full resturaunt. They also have a small amount of vendors selling souvenirs at the front entrance. Overall a beautiful park with clear blue water lakes/ venues cenotes and a great natural vibe. Absolutely recommend, 2-3 hours should be good here.

One of the best parks in Santo Domingo. It was so easy to just forget we are in a city and enjoy the nature and the wonder all around us. I totally recommend. I am not a big fan of the "guide" hustle at the entry. I prefer roaming around and exploring the places I go to at my own rythm and pace so I turned it down. If you are the same and do not want that, just say a strict no multiple times if you have to.

Beautiful natural water holes in the city area. Although you cannot swim they are beautifully preserved and maintained in the natural state. Place is clean and good for families and tourists alike. It was about a 45 min visit and enough to see all major water exhibits.

Beautiful place to visit. You have to be fit to walk down those steps and come back up. It was a workout but worth it. I would advice to take water to drink because it can get very hot from the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

It's a quick thing to do while I'm Santo Domingo. Great Photo ops and it doesn't take long to go to all three as well as the 4th one. You have to take a small raft boat across to the other side for 50 pesos. It's very worth going to the other side to see the last lagoon. The entrance fee to the whole park is $200 pesos per tourist or $100 pesos for Dominican residents

The place is cool but rather small. A stair leads to the bottom of the park where you can see three lagoons. They size from small to tiny. There is a big, fourth one, you can see it from the top (free, after a short walk) and/or from the bottom (25 pesos to hire a guy pulling you on a raft). We enjoyed the visit, but wouldn't say so had we arrived half an hour later. Tours started to get in around 10am just as we were leaving and people had to line up to descend the stair. There was literally no one when we arrived. So absolutely come early if you can to avoid the tours! Admission as of November 2019: 200 pesos.

This was one of the best parks we have been to in Dominican republic. It is really quite amazing. It is a natural wonder of the Dominican Republic. I would come here time and time again just to see this. The waters were so crystal you can see all the way down. Make sure that you spend the extra 50 pesos so you can go see the third lake and then you can see the fourth lake on top. The one thing I will tell you is there is really no fourth lake that is just the top of the third lake but you must pay for the third lake you have to pay 50 pesos to get in to the other side this is a must do in Dominican republic. Highly recommend it.

This park is located in the east of Santo Domingo. It is easy to reach, but depending on the really bad traffic in the city it can take up to 1 hour to get there from the center. The place itself has 4 underground lakes. One of these can be seen from above and there is a walking path around that lake. To access the other (smaller) lakes you have to climb down some stairs. The water is really clear. At one lake you can do a small boat tour to access the 4th lake from below. It's a very beautiful place and the entrance fee is quite low with R$200 (US$4). The boot tour costs only R$50 extra.

Went around 3 pm on a Saturday. There were not a lot of people. It took around 45 minutes total and was a short ride from La Zona Colonial. Definitely worth it! It’s such a different experience than what you explore in the more touristy areas of SD. It’s very hot and humid down there so plan accordingly. Make sure to bring cash to pay to cross for the last lake. It’s the most beautiful of all four!

Experience the awe-inspiring wonder of these remarkable natural caves, a true marvel of nature. These majestic caverns offer a rare glimpse into what the prehistoric world of dinosaurs might have been like, with minimal human intervention allowing them to retain their natural beauty. With minimal man-made alterations, these caves have remained largely untouched, providing an authentic and immersive experience. However, be wary of tourist hustlers who may try to overcharge for the boat ride to the caves. While the actual cost is only 50 pesos per adult and 25 pesos per child, some may attempt to charge exorbitant prices of up to 1,500 pesos. It's important to be vigilant and ensure you are not taken advantage of. Exploring these caves can be an adventurous endeavor, as they go deep into the earth, so it's best not to visit immediately after a strenuous leg workout. Nevertheless, the experience is truly unparalleled, offering a unique opportunity to witness the beauty of these natural wonders and transport yourself back to a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Don't miss the chance to witness this incredible phenomenon! We went on a Saturday, there weren't too many people. There was no wait time. FYI, it is not necessary to buy tickets in advance. I'm only giving 4 stars out of 5 because they let these hustlers inside the paid area to do their hustling.

Beautiful sights! Visited at 0830 on a Tuesday before the tour buses got there and it was completely empty. There’s bathrooms and a place to buy food and drinks before or after you go down to the caves. The steps in the caves are a bit slippery so wear something with some grip. Paid for a tour guide and it was worth it, he knew a lot about the caves. Be warned they will try to get you to buy something at the end so be prepared to say no or spend a little money.

Nice natural place very close to the Columbus Lighthouse but very well preserved unlike other cultural and natural places nearby. The entry fee is cheap but varies between locals and foreigners by a small margin. If you want to see the 4th lake you have to pay an extra fee of $25 DOP to use the services provided to cross one of the lakes. A word of advice to everyone visiting the museum is to avoid buying souvenirs from the gift shop inside the facilities because their prices are quite steep. Enyoy your time there, you won't regret the visit!!!

  • 4/5 Wiebke W. 4 years ago on Google
DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THE GUIDES TELL YOU IN FRONT OF THE PARK. It happened that a guide told us that we have to pay for a boat in the park but with him it is included. So I asked him: How much would the boat ride be? And he said 1300 DOP. Which was a lie, because it's only 25 DOP per Person. So we were happy not to have a guide, you really don't need it. The entrance is 200 DOP per person. In general the nationalpark is very busy.

This was an excellent adventure. There is a cave you go down to see the 3 level of the natural water. There is also a point where you can take a small boat to the other side. These is also another vantage point with a great view. Wear comfortable shoes for this trip

Nature never deceives. Visiting these caves have shown us again how beautiful nature is and stayed throughout time. Was a blast to be able to see these amazing lakes, plants and to learn about the cave's history. If you are in Santo Domingo, it's a must see. Well kept and cared for, safe and just a few miles from the heart of the city, amazing staff, go indulge🤗

Explore the caverns and underground lake right in Santo Domingo. Excellent natural wonder. Ask for “JC” for English speakers. He was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable. Very interesting history of the caves and how the Tainos used it to shelter from hurricanes. It is amazing to see how clear the water is in the underground lakes.

Nature, greens, clear water and caves. Amazing place! The attendant in the snacks store was very friendly and attentive. 4 stars just bc the tourist guides was too pricey.

Wonderful natural park with small lakes full of fish and turtles. This is what paradise looks like.

Such a lovely daytime mini-excursion. Perfect for a picnic with a beautiful scenery. Doesn’t have a fixed price as it is a public, protected park but they do ask you “donate” what you can for it’s conservation & cleaning. I honestly felt I was in a Indiana Jones movie or something!

"Parque Nacional Los Tres Ojos" almost 50 yard open-air limestone cave located in the "Parque Mirador del Este". this gorgeous park is currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Santo Domingo City.

There is little to see here. But it's enjoyable, just don't drink the water. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE. Because of all the stairs, it's a free exercise routine.

04/2022: You can stay here for several hours or see it all in 45-60 minutes. Very tranquil park. Park ticket only is $4USD and $12USD with a guide and cable boat crossing per person. If you are pressed for time purchase the guided tour. We visited during the weekday and it was not busy. I am sure it is very busy here on the weekend so add extra time if you are keeping a tight schedule. Be carful. A lot of steps. Have fun!

Shockingly located in the middle of a city, you decend rapidly into the caverns, Jules Verne style. Immediately you are presented with beautiful pools, vegetation, and rock/ coral formations, some of which have never received sun light. My only negative, high traffic, small slippery steps (big feet/ big problem), and it could use a few more guard rails.

The park was great, Dominicans pay 100K Suzanne Americans pay 200 pesos. There was a man at the gate that was pushy and wanted to give us a tour and the souvenir shop is filled with pushy sales people as well. The park itself is beautiful but would be much better without the panhandlers.

Not expensive, close to various lodging, a good low impact workout that shouldn't take long. Bring sunscreen (if needed) and stay hydrated. Beautiful place with guides available.

The tour guide was lovely, bring water to drink plz and be prepared to walk up and down steps, but the cave was lovely

It was a great site to visit in the city. We paid a guide, while took alot of photos of us. Definitely take the boat to the other lake. Buying the tickets was awkward they had you scan a QR code, register and pay. It would have been much easier to just hand them a credit card.

Interesting and amazing underground grutes (caves), the underground river has formed the inner lakes (also called cenotes). Really impressive place. Pretty humid and there are many steps to go in and come out. Get ready and bring comfortable shoes and clothes.

It's a beautiful sight to see underground. There are a lot of stairs, so be prepared. It is humid and hot, and it is best to bring a bottle of water. You will also need to pay a dollar to a man operating the boat to take you to the other side if you choose to go.

Cool spot. Very cheap. You can purchase online or just go to the counter to buy tickets. It's about 2 usd per person. Skip the tour, you don't need it. Once you explore downstairs, there is a little makeshift kayak you can take across. Do it it's 1 dollar quick and easy.
