Had lunch at the Foundry Bakehouse with a Build Your Own sandwich. Ciabatta Bread, Ham, Swiss Cheese and Mayo. Everything was great, bread was fresh and the protein was high quality. For desert I had an M&M cookie that was fresh and soft just out of the oven. Great place for lunch in Albion

I love their coffee. Their food is great too. Soups are homemade. Doughnuts, cookies, lemon bars, chocolate lasagna, and breads are delicious. If you like chocolate frosted cake, you will enjoy it especially if it’s at room temperature. The cake below was a sweet gift (Thanks, Steve!). The staff are very welcoming. They have a small area for outdoor seating. I strongly recommend this bakery.

I chose Foundry Bakehouse to cater my wedding & I am so thankful that I did! Not only were they SO friendly, they made it super easy & stress free for me. I had 120 people at my wedding, and they helped me choose the right amount of donuts & desserts to ensure we had enough. Everything was DELICIOUS! I couldn’t recommend this bakery enough. Thank you for such a pleasant experience. Samantha & Andrew

I pre-ordered a small sweet potato pie and did so before the special sale price promotion ended. There is no way to pay online so the site stated they would contact me. Spoiler alert: they did not. One day before the scheduled pickup date, I finally received an email - it just told me to pick it up and gave their hours of operation. At pick up time, guess what? They charged me full price! It was a $2 difference and it was paid because what else was I to do the day before Thanksgiving?? It was supposed to feed 2-3 people but it was literally the size of a frozen pot pie from Banquet - maybe even a bit smaller. $12 for that?! When I finally cut into it after dinner the next day, it was absolutely disgusting. I was so disappointed...it tasted like pumpkin pie, not sweet potato. What an awful experience all around.

I have had lunch there often, and I always hear restaurants say "home cooked meal", and I thought that was not logical....But the foundry feels like it was homemade, and fresh out of the oven! The sandwich's have unique names that relate to the history of Albion and its foundries. In a town that is going through a renaissance, you have to stop here and enjoy the delicious sandwiches! (plus the cookies are to die for!)

The Foundry Bakehouse is outstanding. I would give the Foundry a rating of six stars (or more), if I could. Our best day is when we go to the Foundry to get a meal or baked goods. We eat a delicious lunch on-site, or pick up a delicious lunch, including delicious cookies, brownies, and other treats. While there, we pick up a loaf of bread to take home. Do not miss the Foundry!

My husband and I enjoy the foundry nut rolls, and evidently, others do also! I will stop some days, and they are sold out of them. Of course, on those days, we chose something else. Today was a good one, and Maddie D. had some for us. I got coffee today, and I like the cups that have the sleeves on the cup. You know we will be back.

2 years ago I reviewed this place, before the pandemic and in the intervening years they have only gotten better. In addition to outstanding food for takeout, bulk orders for conference meetings, classes and meetings, they also offer pick up meals like chicken and turkey pot pies, lasagna, and mac and cheese dinners for folks to order online and pick up ready to bake at home. They are a donor of food to the local food pantry, corporate sponsors of all the good going on in town and still providing outstanding doughnuts, breads, sandwiches and support they always have. Their app makes it all so easy and I can buy gift cards easily and have food ordered for people I love. They are the very best of what a downtown Albion business can be.
