My
experience
with
the
admissions
department
was
very
frustrating
and
disappointing.
I
auditioned
for
the
Woodwind
Specialist
MM
program.
I
received
a
letter
from
the
graduate
school
at
Michigan
State
saying
I
was
admitted.
I
even
received
the
same
letter
in
snail
mail.
A
week
later
I
received
a
letter
from
the
music
department
saying
that
I
wasn't
admitted
for
the
Woodwind
Specialist
program,
but
they
would
admit
me
for
the
clarinet
performance
MM
if
I
desired.
When
I
called
asking
why
I
received
the
first
letter
from
the
graduate
school,
the
man
seemed
confused
and
said
I
[didn't]
receive
a
letter
because
it
wasn't
in
the
records.
Why
would
I
make
up
receiving
a
letter
that
I
was
admitted?
He
reiterated
their
policy
that
the
letter
from
the
music
department
comes
first.
I
said
that
obviously,
their
letter
had
NOT
come
first.
When
I
emailed
a
copy
of
the
letter
I
received
from
the
graduate
school
saying
I
was
admitted
to
both
the
associate
director
and
the
director,
I
received
NO
response.
My
problem
was
NOT
with
the
faculty's
decision.
My
problem
is
with
the
administrative
issues.
It
does
not
speak
highly
of
the
university
and
does
not
motivate
me
to
spend
30K
on
tuition.
Simple
empathy
or
an
apology
of
some
sort
would
have
gone
a
long
way.
Instead,
I
am
sadly
writing
this
