Over expectations. European Sea bass from Black Sea really great!

The place is not very clean, tables very sticky,seats too, floors dirty. Do not ever get mashed potatoes , they are simply disgusting and 9 RON that's simply a joke. A horrible experience overall.You'd be better of going at any other restaurants in the area. DO NOT EAT HERE PLEASE! 😡(Review coming from an Romanian)

We've been here a few times. One time just for lunch, another for dinner. Lunch was fine (some grilled chicken and salad) and the dinner was pretty okay too. I had salmon and grilled vegetables and my wife had dorado. Both fish were fine and the vegetables very tasty. Now for something amusing. The toilets. When you enter the toilets, a sensor turns on the light. You can then enter the actual toilet stall which has double doors that DOES NOT close shut. There is a 3cm gap between the doors, making it easy to peep in or out. I'm not particularly modest, but it does seem a bit odd. The toilet has no seat. Just the pure ceramic bowl. At least there was papers to clean the "throne". And if that wasn't enough, I had been sitting there for like 1 minute and the lights shut off. Now, the sensor was at the entry to the toilet, so I had to stand up and wave above the door to activate the light, but hey if you want light, wait till after you wash your hands and want paper towels. The dispenser gives you a crazy light show each time. Do not use it if you are epileptic 😂 But all in all, I'd still recommend the place if you aren't too picky or snobbish. 3 stars, would have been 3½ if possible.

The location has not changed over the years, which is not a bad thing. Young, active waiters, but with little experience. The melodic line, "manele" and the party music, maybe not to everyone's liking - anyway, he sang for 10 minutes, then a 15-minute break, after which it was resumed, with the same trend. The order was taken quickly, brought after 20-25 min. The food: - storceag- good, piece of fish ok, but with a little too much vinegar; - mussels with white sauce - perfect - rapane - overcooked - tentacles in the pan - so and so. Conclusions: ok prices, ok service, good food. I recommend.

Nothing fancy. The food was good (I had better, but it wasn't anything to complain about). The staff was quick and amiable, the prices decent. Good variety of fish plates, most of them from frozen, unfortunately

The food was very bad. I was scarry to be poisoned. Mussles were cooked couple days ago. Seems, that they kept them in fridge for a while and add pepper to hide the smelly taste. The atmosphere is bad. Dirty. Very bad experience.

It was very good a few years ago, now maybe it's ok for a quick bite , not a proper dinner. The kids that serve you are well intended but way to inexperienced for this. You can only pay by cash, no POS. The food is made just to be delivered. Trust a stranger.. go to a proper fish restaurant, not this one.

Best fish I had in a restaurant The clientele is mostly families but everyone is here for good food so it shouldn't deter you if you're looking for a place for dinner with your friends. Everyone in my group was very happy with their orders, the fish was fresh, and cooked traditionally. They also had a solid selection of local wine. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the service, but it's bad everywhere lately because of lack of staff and less clients. anyway, it was not a deal breaker If you're planning a trip in the area you have to put La Pește on your list.

Good food. Make reservations before going

I will start the review by saying that we ate here 3 times (2 during the week and 1 during the weekend). During the week days the food was amazing, but unfortunately in the weekend, not so much. The fish was still fresh and tasty but the sauces were diluted with too much water. I do recommend to eat here, the fish is great but only during week days.

they had food expired for 6 years!!! also a year ago 9 kids were rushed to the hospital with toxic infection

Super Restaurant. Perfect service and great cooking. 5 stars are not enough for this restaurant. The service is megafast and friendlyband helpful. I was here for breakfast and brunch and in the evening and at the night. Everytime really great. Next time I will be there in Mamaia, I come back for sure! Greetings Thomas
