The Anghel Saligny Bridge is a railroad truss bridge in Romania, across the Danube River, connecting the regions of Muntenia and Dobruja. The bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Monuments. Total length: 2,632 m. Longest span: 190 m (620 ft) Opened: 26 September 1895 Total length: 2,632 m (8,635 ft). Bridge King Carol I (later renamed the Anghel Saligny Bridge to honor Anghel Saligny the bridge designer and executor) was built between 1890 and 1895 to provide the rail link between Bucharest and Constanţa.

A great piece of civil engineering, built at the beginning of the XX-th century by the famous Romanian engineer Anghel Saligny. unfortunately kind of difficult to see from uplose and it doesn’t look properly maintained. The bronze statues of the soldiers guarding the bridge are stunning.

Interesting point of view over the river. Bridge for car and train. You can walk alone the road but it s little bit dangerous because it full of rust and the plate where you walk on are quite damaged.

A railroad truss bridge over the Danube built in 1985. Still stands but I believe is out of use.

Great food (we had the nicest fish soup). Cozy atmosphere. The service was also nice. Just watch out if you order takeaway - they mixed up our order.
