A great natural place where you can enjoy the mountains and this fantastic stone formation. You can take the cable car up, from the top it is only a 15 min walk. Bring good shoes with you and warm clothes. Usually a cold wind blows here and it is considerable colder than in Busteni. If you like hiking continue to one of the highest mountains in the carpats, mountain omu.

A lot of guides tells you that this place is in Sinaia. Wich is semi true. If you don't want to hike a LOT don't take the gondola from Sinaia but from Busteni! I took the gondola from Sinaia and ended up hiking for four hours as I tought the Sphinx was close to that Gondola. I asked the ticket lady if it was possible to see the Sphinx from there and she answeres yes. I came unprepared with bad shoes and little water so I was exhausted after four hours hiking. Of course this was my bad with little research but however take the gondola from Busteni NOT Sinaia. It was a hike for 4 hours and 600 meters climb. The gondola from Busteni parked about 300 meters from the Sphinx😅 I took the gondola down to Busteni and had to take a taxi from there and to Sinaia to retriever my car😅

Worth seeing. The hike is really nice and the views are awesome. A bit sad that the pension located on side is shut down and there is a lot of trash in the area. But the monument itself is worth the trip.

This was a fantastic place to visit. We were here in late April and there was about a foot and a half of snow on the ground, so be prepared for any kind of weather. The gondola ride up was about $35 USD each to go up and back, but the ride was completely worth it. I would definitely recommend.

Wonderful place. It has a lot of touristic potential, too bad that things around are not well organized. Take cash with you, there are no POS up there.

Great natural formation. Would be something you don't want to miss, a symbol for Romania. But for a symbol of such proportions, it's nothing there to inform you, especially for foreign tourists that don't share the Romanian cultural background.

This structure is made with materials from seaside. The weather changes quickly, you may experience all seasons in a few hours. Beware of stray dogs, they're dangerous.

Iconic place in Romania, one of the most beautiful places to visit. You can arrive by taking the cable car from Busteni (most expensive and easier) or use cable cars from Sinaia. You could reach using car until Piatra Arsa chalet and then walk for 3-4 km on the plateau.

This is a beautiful place to visit, the view is wonderful. The prices are a little expensive to get up in the mountains. Over all a wonderful experience.

The drive yo the start of the walk was on a skinny, twisty pretty road. We pared at the bottom of the cable car station then walked up. It is a beautiful walk, a little bit ice this time of year. It was warm at the start, but take some warm clothes for the top.

It's well worth a visit. The cable car up and down costs 190 Lei and it's a short walk to the mushroom and Sphinx formations from the cable station

We went up the cable car and walked over the ridge. The views were beautiful and from station to station it took us 3 hours of normal walking. Natural phenomena are really worth it.

It's a magnificient natural Park with beautiful hikes leading to this impressive sphinx. Landscapes are amazing. The sphinx is just next to the cable car station.

To be fair, the Sphinx is a hard place to get to. And it's not even very spectacular, it is okay. The cable car costs a bunch of money (140 ron two ways) and there are also some guys that plan and execute 4-5 hours trip with their vans for 150 ron/person (the good thing about this is that you get to see way more places) but when they reach the summit, you still have to hike about 5 km to reach the sphinx and the terrain is someplaces steep, someplaces rocky.

Bucegi Mountains have a very steep slope towards the popular tourist destinations in the Prahova Valley , such as Busteni and Sinaia. At a higher elevation is the Bucegi Plateau, where wind and rain have turned the rocks into spectacular figures such as the sphinx and Babele . The Bucegi is believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the God Zalmoxis resided in a cave. The Bucegi Mountains extend on the territory of Dâmbovița, Prahova and Brașov counties. Being of a great structural and morphological complexity, the massif appears as a natural fortress, with the enclosure suspended at 1600 - 2500 m, supported by strong cliffs. Beautiful experience
