(Translated by Google) A beautiful place, full of history. An extraordinary construction that houses countless heroes fallen on the battlefields for our country. The guide gives you information about the Mausoleum and The museum that depicts all the rulers of our country and some classics of Romanian literature, through the paintings on the walls. It's worth visiting if you are around. Tickets were 16 RON / person, and the place was completely empty on a Sunday morning. It's worth even more if you are passionate about history and WWI.

Impressive. This is the second time I go there, first time when I was a kid. Interesting museum. Should have planned to go to Mărăști as well beforehand, didn't had the time. Only 33 Km down the road, so plan ahead for this too.

Didn't had finances to enter so I watched from the outside. As was in my childhood this iconic monument stands out making a point for the value of the homeland.

Words or pictures do not make this place justice. You have to visit to truly feel the place‘s emotional power. These days, such places should show us even more that we should do everything in our power to keep the peace, in respect for our ancestors.

It really worth it to visit one of the monument of roumanian heroes.. 8 ron adults and 2 ron students With other words the museum staff told us.. The Mausoleum of Mărășești is a memorial site  in  România containing remains of 5,073 Romanian soldiers and officers killed in the WWI  and dedicated to the commemoration of the Battle if Mărășești and Ro Army members who were killed during World War I. The battle if Mărășești (August 6 to September 8, 1917) was a battle fought during WWI between the German Empire and Kingdom of Romania. The two sides sent into battle a total of about 1 million soldiers. The Romanian battle plan called for attack on Nămoloasa but developments elsewhere on the Eastern Front led to shelving that plan. The fighting lasted until September 8, when both sides ran out of fresh units. The German attempt to crush the Romanian army led by General Eremia Grigorescu  failed, but the Romanians did not regain any more of their territory either. The motto of the Romanian Army during the battle was "Pe aici nu se trece" (English: "They shall not pass")

Great place with big historical value. The place seems to be well mentained, very clean. We had the pleasure to be guided by a wonderful lady, who is an historian there. Very knowledgeable and well spoken, and to our surprise the tour was included in the ticket. There is also a museun with WWI weapons, uniforms and decorations.

You can really feel the deep sadness and heroism spirit that sorounds this place. A beautiful open area followed by a huge stone cemetery building, full of heroes that died in the first world war. Next to it you can visit a beautiful museum. Totally recommend visiting.

(Translated by Google) It is the largest and most imposing mausoleum in the country. In addition to the mausoleum itself, you can visit an interesting museum (to the left of the mausoleum), with original pieces from the First World War, statements of the time, etc. The space outside is large, with statues of military figures who participated in the battles of World War I. In the mausoleum, in the center is the tomb of General Eremia Grigorescu in a stone chapel, all around being buried over 5000 Romanian soldiers, all killed in the battles of the war.

(Translated by Google) A tourist attraction worth visiting. It's very beautiful and full of history. The road from Bucharest to this goal is very good. Bucharest, Ploiesti, Buzau, Focsani and from Focsani are a few km away. Inside it is spectacular, the price of the visit is more than ok that value. The mausoleum also has a museum that can be visited and is included in the price of the entrance ticket. The parking lot is small. The view from the mausoleum is not who knows what.

One of the most important historic monuments in Romania which marked the fight between the German & Romanian army. Over 5000 soldiers are buried here. The motto of Romanian Army still stands today " they shall not pass ".

Many soldiers found a final resting place here.

  • 4/5 Cristi 4 years ago on Google
The monument is impressive as it brings together all the Unnamed heroes and commemorates them in a majestic fashion. At the museum section, be brave and remove the last painting of the communist propaganda that shows liberating armies on August 23rd and happy people all around - communism was forcefully imposed to the Romanians by Soviet tanks, deportation, terror and framed elections. That is against what Romanian people died for in the first and second world war!
