NOT FIVE STAR! Generous 3-star. But 1-star for the experience. Presentation is nice but no substance. Stay for the spacious rooms but DO NOT eat at their restaurant or expect 5-star accommodations or service. PROS - the decor, spacious rooms, interior of the hotel was nice and one of THE BEST hotel gyms and pools (but does not open until 9am and Sauna until 4pm). CONS - Uses their self-awarded 5-star to overcharge. 1. There are no reviews of the Arena Restaurant & Bar and it is AWFUL. 90% of the menu are frozen products. There was no one in the restaurant (which should have been a sign). After we finished our appetizers, our mains came out 15-20 min. and we could not believe our food was cold and burnt. We do not send back food but as a 5-star, with their prices and no one in the restaurant, it was absolutely unacceptable. The Chef comes out another 15-20 min. later but not to apologize or bring our new meals, instead, tries to humiliate us by having his head waiter display our half eaten food as he describes they are a 5-star restaurant, we're probably not use to the standard and educates us on how he cooks the food. As we didn't have a car we tried the restaurant again, this time a salad main was cheap ice berg lettuce which looked worse than garnish and one of the only items not previously frozen were ribs which 90% of the ribs was pure fat and inedible. It was disgusting. We could not believe they served it! I wish I took a photo. 2. For our arrival, we ordered through the hotel transit pick up from the train station. We were picked up by an old dirty car that was late (not 5-star appearance or service - foreshadowing the next 5 days). We took a taxi for our departure and found out the hotel's partnership transport service charged 3 times more than a regular taxi. This hotel is a wannabe with 5-star rates and 1-star execution. The experience at the restaurant was SO horrendous it ruined our 1st visit memories of Romania.

It's exact midnight and some of your customers located in one of the villas are listening at maximum volume romanian gypsy music (manele). Of course some of the staff knows about this unpleasant situation because the party is on for the last 12h. Not taking any actions to respect the silence hours is a serious disrespect to all customers surrounding your location and it shows how unprofessional you are.

The location of the hote; is good but the services are very bad, gym opens at 9, bar closes too early. Breakfast for 5 star very poor, for coffee and orange juice you have to pay extra . Room is nice decorated but water pressure in shower is too low. You don't have curtains to make the room dark... Is between 3 and 4 star but never 5 star. The price is way too high for what you get!

The inner courtyard is the best. View from the top is great. Very near to the beach.

I only visited the spa. It’s a beautiful establishment, the rest is terrible. Half of the services that they say they have they do not have. The few services that are available they only are half there. Saunas only half worked, juice bar was a magazine store at the least with bottle juice

4/5 staff. 3/5 building 4.5/5 rooms. Location relative to other restaurants/ attractions is 1/5. Pool, overall cleanliness and restaurant food 5/5. It was a 4/5 hotel overall. Very nice and a small private beach, but the price was definately artificially inflated, especially for off season and for romania, it was ridiculous. Wont come again but it was a nice experience.

Friendly staff. Good spa. Pool is amazing for families. Water temperature is rather on the warm side, but I quite like that. Had a good decontraction massage. Prices are friendly. Breakfast is average. Restaurant is rather bad. Would not advise it. Service is slow, menu rather poor, our waiter was really forgetful to a really annoying point, the kind who is walking looking at the tip of his shoes, to make sure he does not see any of his tables calling him. To their defence, we have visited off season, may be the good chefs and staff were on vacation. Room is good enough, not a 5 star though, bathroom is really nice, good shower. Very nice wide balcony. Really annoying tv set, making a tedious continuous high pitched noise, all throughout the night.

Low quality breakfast, restricted access to pool (once per day, for limited time). Overall bad experience, will never come back here!

I went there for a SPA package that included massage, exfoliation, and different other treatments as well as sauna, pool and hammam access. First of all, the so called « signature » massage barely touched some basic techniques (I know what I am talking about, as I am a certified massage therapist myself), the therapist was doing marketing and trying to sell me the products while doing the massage, talking a lot and not giving me any space to relax. They’ve told me the hammam was not functional so I can’t use it (even if it was in the package), the sauna was closed and I can’t be used until 16:00 (my appointment was at 10 o’clock but nobody bothered to tell me that when I did the appointment). For me, it was a very disappointing experience. I would not go back there.

The only 5 star thing about this hotel is the overall aspect.It's beautiful and clean but beside that, it's a 3 star experience.The staff is always bored and they make me feel like I'm the one working for them.The breakfast is ok, but not 5 stars, they put the accent mostly on quantity rather than quality.The food at their terrace is terrible, last time i ordered pasta with truffles, salata de icre and 2 cakes.The pasta had no truffles, salata de icre was ok but it came with vel pitar graham toast, bought from the supermarket.When i asked for normal bread, they said they didn't have any buns.The cakes came frozen, literally from the freezer and i told the waiter we cannot eat them, he said he should've taken them out from the freezer earlier.But still checked them on the bill!!!! The fries are freezed, not natural, pizza was ok and also the crab legs were ok but the prices for the quality and services are WAYYYY overrated! I always take an apartment, but even if the rooms are spacious, they only have one double bed.Last time i visited, i had the 7th floor apartment, there was no water pressure at all and in the small bath smelled horrible from the drains. The minibar is average and there is no espresso machine in the room, if you want coffee you either wait until 8 am, either call room service to bring it. The pool is clean and big, the spa is very beautiful but the last time i went, the only ones working were the hammam and dry sauna.The rest were unavailable, don't know the reason.The only thing making me go there is that it's quiet and clean, but the food, the staff and the services are so bad.

It supposed to be a 5 stars. Is pandemy, I understand. Though at least the breakfast should be more creative and diversified. Another downside is keeping you $400 blocked for 48 hours after you left. This is unreal. You can check the room while cleaning for the next guest. There is no logical reason to keep my money for so long just to be sure a guest didn't broke anything. Now I am thinking that because of this, I should give only 3 1/2 stars. Other thing I didn't like it are the TV, 5 years old models. But who comes to the beach to watch TV, right?

Me and my fiancé had an amazing hot stone massage 😍 All staff very cheerful, therapists having knowledge all kind of techniques and performing them very well. Whorty to go for a relaxing day 🤗

Nice Hotel with a very good restaurant and excellent wellness area. Rooms are not 5 stars. No vanity mirror, no facial tissues, bed not very comfortable.

Amazing hotel and best in Mamaia in my own opinion, you feel the 5 star staying there along with one more hotel. Location is amazing, flexibility with cancellations should be more flexible. Only minor set back is kitchen closes at 11pm like all of Mamaia hotels. Love this place though I can’t say anything bad about service and staff cause it was a very good stay every time
