This museum is located opposite to st Pete and Paul cathedral. A beautiful building. Not big. The sculptures are great and watching them is a real pleasure and a great meals for soul and spirit. Sculptures, reflecting Greek and Roman mythology, sculptures of common people I was greatly impressed by the image of Mother Mary and Jesus Christ, carved on stone. Each sculpture is a great masterpiece. Visiting this museum I got great and real pleasure! Constanta, everyone, who contributed to creation and keeping the museum, greatest thanks!!!!!!,

(Translated by Google) The building of the Ion Jalea Sculpture Museum belonged to the Prefect of Constanta County, Constantin Pariano. Near the area occupied today by this building, on the cliff, there was the intent of 1868-1882 DBSR director's house, Edward Harris. In his first visit to Constanta immediately after the war, Carol I was hosted in this house. After the purchase of the company by the Romanian state house served as the home of Nicolae Macri Constanta port master. Later he sold the property of the prefect of Constanta Constantin Pariano political and agricultural landowner. Pariano demolished the building built by the English and commissioned Victor Stephanescu in 1913 a new construction. The project that obtained the building permit from the town hall was different from the current building. The war interrupted the works that were resumed between 1920 and 1922, the final version being considered the whole work of Victor Stephanescu. The edifice had several destinations in 1928, the English Consulate in 1931 - the Romanian Maritime Service, and during the Soviet occupation it was used as a rule by the Russian troops. Since 1968 it has become local for the Ion Jalea Museum.

(Translated by Google) In the constant museum there are all the works of Ion Jalea made in plaster, metal, stone or marble, works that show the gift of the artist who, even with only one hand, managed to remain a sculptor. (Original) In muzeul constantean exista toate lucrarile lui Ion Jalea facute in ghips, metal, piatra sau marmura, lucrari ce arata darul artistului care, chiar si numai cu o mana, a reusit sa ramana sculptor.

It's a neat little museum, and we enjoyed visiting it, but if you are not familiar with the artist and his work, the museum doesn't help much. None of the sculptures have information related to when they were created, materials or techniques used. You just find the works with their names and that's it. So you might want to get informed before going. Also, it is not a friendly museum for people with disabilities, as there are no ramps for wheelchairs.

Very poorly maintained, needs drastic changes and professionalization. Quite a lot of fine sculptures by Jalea, but not properly presented. Might as well opt instead for Muzeul de Arta.

😐 You can have a good time if you don't need to go to the bathroom, because there are only 2 public toilets, which are absolutely abysmal. I won't say anything about them, just make sure to find another way to take care of this before going to the beach. There are also no showers. The prices for the...
