1st time visit. Calm & Peaceful. Tamil Slogams were sung during Pooja. Divine to hear. Hoping to finish the new building soon 🙏🙏 Some devotees were distributing veg-fruits from their garden (9/17/2022). Happy to see fresh Avarakkai (broad beans) after a long time. Thanks for who brought them

We have been here before and came to visit again with a group of devotees from Salinas Monterey. The temple staff and volunteers were very accommodating with hosting us to visit. They provided us with ample time for Darshan and Prasadam, followed with Tea and Coffee before our departure. Was very pleased to see the expansion of the Temple premises since our last visit 4 years ago. So proud of my Indian heritage, Gujarati Community and Tamil upbringing. Shiva Murugan Temple Arohara.

Pretty good temple in the heart of concord city. If you’re from north bay, this temple will be closer than other ones in the Bay Area. It’s not too crowded but parking needs to be improved. It’s quite impossible to find parking on a busy day.

This is a review of Priest Viswanathan Ardhanareeswaran, not of the temple as such. We are a devout Marathi Deshastha Rigvedic family. Our family has also been part of major temple constructions in various places. When it was time for our second son's munje (ie upanayan sanskar, sacred thread ceremony), we contacted Priest Viswanathan Ardhanareeswaran. First, he immediately said "here we do South Indian style." I said "that is no problem, we respect that, and we are fine with that." Then he said "OK, I will contact you soon about dates." We waited for a month, he did not contact. So I went back to the temple (which is 50 miles from where we live) and he said "I was busy, I will contact you soon." Another month passed, he did not. So I went to the temple again. This time, in a very cunning and clearly deceptive manner he said "Oh, I am free now, I will contact you this week." But the way he said it it was clear he was lying. Anyway, I waited a month, and same story: no contact from him. So we gave up on that Priest, and were appalled at his insincerety and deception. By grace of Ganeshji, we actually found a very very good place for the Munja (the United Hindu Temple in Baldwin Park), and the Pujari there even invited a Rig Vedic Purohit from a mandir 80 miles away to join the Sanskar, and it was done very well by both of them in perfect Rigvedic way. We were elated by that. So in a way, it was God's way of guiding us to the best place, but still I felt I should write this review so in future this particular priest does not mislead others. In his profession, such conduct is inexcusable. I want to say the Shiv Murugan temple itself is welcoming, and I always enjoyed going there for prayers and darshan. So again, clarifying this is not a review of the temple as a whole, but only the priest in particular.

Peaceful and Divine temple. We went on Saturday noon and it’s perfect time, was able to attend the complete pooja. Idols are kept in a small place next to the construction, in which the basement have kept Prasadams. Construction work is going on for the main temple. Can’t wait for it to complete, it is going to be a marquee temple in the area. Parking is limited on the streets. You can use the Safeway parking near by.

Very clean and accessible temple. Priests are very knowledgeable in many different pooja & rituals. On weekends they do offer free lunch to the visitors. Plenty street parking available.

Nice peaceful temple, people are very kind. New temple work in progress next to this building. I don't recommend on Friday evening visits because huge traffic in the hwy 680.

Great place for divine worship! Calm and serene. They are setting up a brand new temple which is significantly bigger and spacious in size. Looking forward to this place.

This is a temple near Concord downtown. This is very small temple with dieties of Shiva, Muruga, Ganesh, Venketachalapathy and Lakshmi Devi. The primary deity is Muruga. They are known for their Thaipoosam festival in January and the Vaikasi Vishakam festival which comes around June. The devotees walk around 40 km to the temple for the Thaipoosam festival. The priests chants the hymns very clearly and with the correct intonations and the modulations. The temple has really good group of volunteers who actively work in providing a great experience for the devotees. For the above mentioned festival food is provided free of cost for breakfast and lunch.

It's the best place for worship. The dieties looks amazing. So peaceful and relaxing just sit and watch. Excellent prasada served.

The Lord Shiva Murugan Temple in Concord is a holy worshipping place for Hindus. People especially South Indians residing all over the state of California in USA use to visit Concord and worship The Lord Muruga and His elder brother Lord Ganesha deities to whom regular poojas and special occasion poojas are performed by the saints after decorations with flowers and dresses. Devotees use to bring prasadams to the temple and worship the Lord Muruga and the Lord Ganesha regularly especially in the weekend days. Bharatha Natya Dance Programmes are periodically performed in the Temple by the girl children of the Hindu people. Prasadams as food is provided to the devotees after the main Aradhana Pooja is over. The temple is having the required parking lot and rest room facilities. The temple is being managed by a committee members dedicated to the development of it. The entire credit goes to one philanthropist Naattu Kottai Chettiar who originally funded for its establishment long ago with a little money which paved a way for its grand development. The expansion plan of the temple furthermore is also on the way in a big way.

Very nice temple and the priests. They are building a new big temple next to the current one looks massive with an actual temple look. Must visit temple in Bay Area.

Everything is good about this Temple. Priests and staff are friendly and well-behaved. Everything is done according to the tradition and Sanatan Hindu customs.

A divine place of worship. Wonderful priests who make all devotees feel welcome at the temple. Look forward to the completion of the new temple construction. Just as a caution, often times you might find some con men loitering around the temple. They approach the devotees and play the sympathy card to con you. They say things like, they lost the car key and wallet, and ask you for money to buy train ticket to their home in San Francisco so they can bring the spare key and pick up their car. Our family personally had this experience a couple of years ago. I shared the experience with the temple management via their contact email, but I don't think they did anything about it.

The best place to feel closer to home if you are a spiritual person and a Tamilian. All priests are very friendly and super nice , I have been going to this temple twice a week for 6 years now and it creates such a peace of mind and positivity for me personally. The energy of this temple so vibrant, the dharshan on everyday basis is amazing and all devotees are super respectful and friendly as well. Truly a great temple to visit if your in Bay Area and want to have temple/ spiritual experience closer to home away from home.
