There is a look out spot, this gets you the full view of the falls. You can take a small trail down leading you to the top of the falls. Both are beautiful views. The path that leads you to the bottom of the falls is closed, and it's a restricted area. The only way to see the waterfall from the bottom is by kayaking or waterboats(around 6 people in one boat). We saw a couple of them floating around.

The last of the 4 falls but definitely the best. At the end of the hiking trail is a viewing platform to see the Burgess falls. You can’t get to the bottom of Burgess Falls anymore unless you kayak the river i think (i didn’t do it). There are steps down you can take to get to the top of the Burgess falls if you want, but it is not a loop. I strongly recommend it. Follow @ajitho.photography on instagram for more tips and hikes :)

It was really cool to see all the different waterfalls!! The gravel path is better to go see the big waterfall. It does have an incline. There is a lot of history here as well!! Happy hiking

Very pretty. Long hike to the fall. You only can see it from the top - can't walk to the water. Saw people doing kayak. Free to enter & to park.

Had a great experience while exploring the area, we went after a pretty good rain and the area was flooded which enhanced the volume and beauty of the falls. The main trail is gradually sloped and easily traveled, the waterside trail is a little bit more difficult but is well worth it if you are capable. Would of gave it 5 Stars if the stairs were serviceable.

Burgess falls is beautiful, great hiking with scenic views of multiple falls & streams. There's an overlook spot if you don't want to hike down to get a closer look of the falls. The steep stairs to the bottom of the fall is closed due to flood & damaged rails.

We had a beautiful visit to Burgess Falls today. Nature never disappoints. The mini hike to the lookout is .75 miles with steep stairs in places which may be difficult for some. The falls that you initially encounter are just as beautiful as those you can see from the lookout. You can explore on the rocks although it’s not encouraged.

Beautiful area, not handicapped accessible even though there is plenty of handicapped parking. Also sad, is that the stairs to the bottom of the waterfall washed away a few years ago, and no work has been put into rebuilding them. Also, it's a carry-in & carry-out type of place. But you see plastic water bottles littered on the trails and pathways. People need to respect the area if it is going to last.

Absolutely breathtaking!! We kayaked up the river to it (about 45 min kayak) and it was WELL worth it to see it from below!

Waterfalls are gorgeous! Bring your hiking shoes! This is a great outdoor adventure, not sure if I would take the little ones on the trail it could be dangerous! There is a play ground for them though! Bathrooms are available and were clean!Just up the road is a deli and convenience store, with great food! They have corn dogs, hamburgers, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream, and much more! We had a blast and will go back again! There is a RV camp ground behind store and it is huge! !

We kayaked to the base of the falls with one of the local companies. It was BEAUTIFUL. We have hiked to the top and to the overlook. It's breathtaking. Just go!

A little disappointed because there's no hike to the base of this beautiful waterfall. There's multiple waterfalls along the way and hike is quite downhill with stairs from the overlook to the top of the falls.

Burgess Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Tennessee. The trail th the bottom of the falls has been closed because of flood damage. Be sure to explore the area and don't miss out on anything.

Very beautiful. Well worth the hike up to the top and down to the bottom. Took about an hour and a half to see everything without rushing.

Nice hike to the falls overlook and top edge of the falls, but you can't access below the falls.

All though I have lived in and around the area, this is our first time. It is a slightly strenuous hike, but if you have kids it is worth every step. They also have a road that gets you to the over look for those that need a easier path. One of the park employees also brought a corn snake out to educate my children about them, they where also allowed to pet it very cool. No swimming anywhere near the top of the falls, from what I understand there is a way to get to the bottom and swim down there. I highly recommend this day trip to unplug and enjoy some nature.

👍👍 Neat little gem of a place. Very easy walk to the falls and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Half paved and half gravel. Nice place to take a short break from driving to get a little fresh air.

👍👍 We live only an hour away from DePauw Nature Park. I’m surprised we haven’t hiked this gem of a park before. Easy to find, good parking, and the trails are visually pleasing. I thought the hike was easy/moderate. If you like Vultures, you’ll love this place! There are tons of them around. The...

👍👍 They've redone this park recently in the last few years, so it's nice. It even has a water splash area for summer fun. My girls love it. Plus there are different age appropriate areas throughout. Toddler ship with small slides, and a lookout telescope. Bigger kids area has a super high slide that h...

👍👍 Best hike in this area so far! It says it's 5 1/2 miles but it adds up to about 6. We counted 30 different fungi, 15 different wild flowers, and saw all kinds of wildlife! Do not wear hiking boots, wear something you can get wet and that won't slip on the slick rocks in the river. Wet hiking boots...
