This park was BEAUTIFUL and well worth the multi-state drive it took to visit. From multiple, breathtaking waterfalls and rock formations to swinging suspension bridges and delicious takeout from their lakeside restaurant, this state park is now among our favorites in the Eastern United States. There were handicap accessible views of both main waterfalls, conveniently located (and clean) bathrooms, well posted and maintained hiking trails, and various picnic areas. There were several other available activities in the area as well, but we didn't have the time to experience those. (We chose to stay about an hour away in a historic cabin at Cumberland Mountain state park to save money). We can't wait to return and see the falls here again!

Fantastic state park with five beautiful waterfalls along very accessible trails or observation decks.... for all levels of fitness! We made the two and a half hour drive from Huntsville for the day and absolutely loved all the hiking, playground and very well kept state park areas. It was well worth the visit, and top of our parks list. We hope to return in the summer for more water activities and camping.

Absolutely beautiful park! Have traveled here twice, May 21 and May 22. There's a handful of trails of varying length and difficulty- all are worth it!! Lots of waterfalls and rock formations throughout the park. Lots of rocky stairs down to the base of the main waterfall- definitely a workout and should not be attempted in poor health but so worth it! One of my favorite parks of all time.

This was such a lovely state park. It offers quite a variety of hikes, as well as seeing drives. We enjoyed how car friendly the place was – all the roads were well-maintained.

Beautiful place with incredible views. Small trails that take you to a huge waterfall with crystal clear water and a lot of peace. You can cross an extremely safe movable bridge. (from there you also have an incredible view) free and secure parking, market store to taste, restaurant, goal field, camping area overlooking the lake, and goal field. incredible! This beautiful place is just 2 hours from Nashville, you will enjoy the road

I came here for hiking and to see the waterfalls, and I couldn't be more pleased. Walking down the path by Fall Creek Falls was a magical experience, made more fun by how challenging it was (very uneven rocks and steep). The suspension bridges were so fun, I saw some deer and other wildlife, and just enjoyed being out in nature. The park is very well maintained and has a good energy about it. I think it would be fun to explore it through the different seasons, so I will be back for sure.

First time there. Falls are amazing. There are overlooks to access and the hike down to the bottom was too much for me. I'm 59 and climbing is difficult. It IS a climb. The trails are natural. But stunning views. The walk to the suspension bridge was manageable. Worth the effort. Young people will have no problem.

Over the last 50 years Fall Creek Falls has morphed into a class A tourist mountain destination with hiking, swimming, horseback riding, biking, golfing, destination sites, camping boating, cabins - for small and large groups. It has several waterfalls and trails for kids and the avid hicker. It is nestled in the Cumberland Mountains off Hwy 111 in Van Buren County, Tennessee. It has rugged trails and all access trails. It is beautiful in all seasons of the year. Its lake is not for use by speed boats, but can be enjoyed by all small boats and boaters.

We absolutely loved this park. We hiked 4.5 miles - Breathtaking waterfalls, suspension bridges, gorges, trails. Ladies at the nature center so helpful and nice. Wish we had more time. The photos don’t do the spots justice. Just go

Great state park! The woman at the counter of the gift shop was knowledgeable and personable. The shop was fine and had a few things to see inside. The gems, of course, are the waterfalls. Some of the overlooks aren't that great. But the waterfalls were amazing. And if you don't mind some stairs the very strenuous section that gets you to the bottom of the big waterfall is worth it (it isn't THAT strenuous but you can't be terribly out of shape - it's essentially like going down and back up 10-15 flights of stairs that aren't well made).

Beautiful area for hiking and suitable for all fitness levels. Dog friendly, and you can customize your day easily around each waterfall you want to see. We did around 5 different short 1 mile hikes around the park and took us around 1/2 a day exploring. Winter is the best time to go as you can really see the falls open up!

Let’s talk about the physicality of the hike down to the falls! When you park, you will see a sign that says “very strenuous hike” down to the base of the main fall. I found this hike “moderately” difficult. Now, I run 3 miles a day and weight lifting on top of that, so I am in pretty good shape. If you never exercise this hike would be very strenuous for you. The hardest part I think is going down, focusing to make sure your footing is correct is tedious. Going up is moderately difficult due to cardio fatigue. The base of the falls is a great place to have lunch and swim! I highly recommend hiking to the nature center to view Cane and Cascade falls! That hike is more of a casual walk on trails. Bathrooms are located at the top of the falls and in the nature center. Check out the newly built lodge for a nice dinner!

I absolutely love that Tennessee parks are free. What a wonderful way to be able to experience the great outdoors. We really enjoyed the snack shop and the visitor center was very informative! We hiked the woodland trail and the base of the falls. The base of Fall Creek Falls was strenuous but doable for an urban family and completely worth it. I recommend water shoes if you're wanting to explore the waterfalls. My kids loved playing in the waterfall behind the nature center. There was a golf course, a pool, snack shop, restaurant and many campgrounds as well. We will be back to try out camping, what a wonderful park!!!

I went for some peace and quiet. In Tennessee, Fall Creek Falls is well-known...maybe the most well-known park...in other words, it's also the most expensive one to stay in. That said, there is no entry or parking fee for a day trip (which is what I went on). I hiked the Paw Paw Trail which is 2 1/2 miles mostly on the top of the ridge.. there are offshoots you can go down and I did go down 1, because it was a look-out. On the way there, 2 very large trees blocked the path and most disappointing of all, when I arrived at the look-out point, it was so overgrown that you couldn't see ANYTHING! I could hear the falls, but all I could see were saplings. It had been completely overgrown. I was SO disappointed. I didn't drop my rate for this review because my purpose for going was to be quiet and hike, which I did and which I did enjoy. I also went down a trail that took me to the bottom of the big falls. It's steps all the way, and you can wade or even go swimming. A handicapped accessible path leads to a swinging bridge. It does swing, but it's very safe and would be fun for those who ordinarily need a lot of assistance.

Amazing park and facilities. The overlook to the "main" Fall Creek Falls is easy to get to and makes for a very awe inspiring sight. The trek to the base of the falls is fairly strenuous and can be very rocky so exercise caution. The visitor center is very nice and feels very modern. The general store is larger than expected and has lots of food, snacks and other camping and recreational items. If you are camping (especially with a larger RV) not all the RV sites are angled appropriately for easy entry. No cost for entry or parking, donations are accepted at the main falls via a drop box.

If there’s anywhere more beautiful on this earth, I haven’t seen it. Great place for all levels of physical exercise. You can drive up to see the overlook and go back, you can stay at the lake and boat/kayak, or you can spend several days hiking through the woods. Amazing any time of year, but peak foliage is a special sight.

Beautiful waterfall, worth visiting in summer, lot of things to do in the state park. Slightly steep hike down to reach bottom of falls, but worth it. Would recommend this place if you are visiting around Tennessee. Visitor center was small but had enough gift shops and help and good restrooms.

One of the diverse and beautiful state parks in the East. Campgrounds are always well maintained. The trails are kept clear. Wonderful opportunities for those who wish to hike but also for those with limited abilities yo be able to see the various falls.

We’ve lived in the cookeville area for 3 years now. We’ve been to basically all the parks, falls and outdoor sites to see…my one question is…HOW HAVE WE NOT BEEN HERE BEFORE NOW?!?😂. This place is amazing. It’s so big, there are SO many different amenities, places to go, trails to hike, waterfalls to see, a lake, a pool…the list is so long. Not to mention if you come a few days after a heavy rain, the falls are INTENSE. When you get down to the bottom pool, the wind and power blasting you from the falling water is crazy refreshing. The hike to the bottom of the falls is short in distance, but takes a while because of the difficulty. There is no real path, your climbing on and over rocks the whole way up and down. But the trip there is scattered with a stream, massive rock outcroppings, overhangs, just pure beauty. The cafe at the park is kinda pricey for cafeteria food, but it’s a nice place to rest and refuel. They also have ice cream. We were only here for a few hours, and barely scratched the surface. This is our new go to local park. We will be sure to camp here and uncover everything it has to offer!

This is a beautiful park and so huge (over 20,000 acres) it feels like a national park. The campground is great & well maintained; the lake is bigger than I expected & has lots of rentals avail; and they have the nicest visitor center I've seen at any state park. They also have a separate general store, restaurant, lodge, & pool.

Beautiful state park, great amenities. We enjoyed the hike down the gorge into the main Falls Creek Falls but this is not for everyone. It is very high on the exertion scale and hikers should be in good health before attempting. I had a hamburger in the snack bar as well and it was tasty and at a good value. Highly recommend you spend some hours in this beautiful park.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Fall Creek Waterfall State Park, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! One of the most remarkable aspects of this park is that it's absolutely free to enter. Upon arrival, we embarked on the woodland trail, which led us to the base of the falls. Although it presented a moderate challenge, it was definitely manageable for my family, who are used to the city lifestyle. The effort was entirely worthwhile, as the sight of the falls was breathtakingly beautiful. I highly recommend wearing water shoes. My kids were particularly thrilled with the opportunity to play in the waterfall near the nature center, creating memories they'll cherish for a long time. One of the highlights of the park is its numerous waterfalls and trails, which are suitable for both kids and avid hikers. It provides a perfect opportunity to introduce children to the wonders of nature while challenging experienced hikers to explore new paths.

This park is one of the biggest ones we've visited. It has biking trails, walking trails, camping sites and so many other things to do. We parked where the Falls can be seen from atop. The view is amazing, though we went end of November so the Waterfall was mostly frozen and not too full. Even so, it was beautiful. We did the trail down to the base of the Falls. The trail is very strenuous and there is a sign that indicates it, and it was not wrong. There are some stairs at the beginning, but towards the end it gets pretty rugged. We went with our 2 boys who are 8 and 10 years old and they loved it. The view from the bottom was definitely worth it. The hike back up is pretty tiring. The good thing is that the trail is not that long as it's just 0.4 miles each way, so it's doable in a reasonable amount of time.

We stayed in the cabins and wow! They have everything you need! Breath taking views all over the park. Several moderate hikes to falls and streams. Private and public pool options. Lodge is new and so cute. Can rent kayaks or paddle boats on the lake. Loudest frogs I’ve ever heard in my life. Literally like screaming children at night. Will be back though, such a beautiful park with all the things one would want it an outdoor adventure with comforts of home for wimpy non camping fans in your party. Did the falls hike with 3yr old and 12yr olds both did fine. Older folks in party had to quick and it’s very rocky and steep so short legs couldn’t handle it.

Went there to see the FALL LEAVES fall but they had already fallen. We were blown away at how much damage a horrific tornado did to the park three months ago BUT more blown away at how quickly things are getting back to normal! We stayed in the Lodge and highly recommend it!!! Everyone that we encountered were so nice and helpful. Even the food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner was great! Breakfast was a continental breakfast but probably the worst we’ve ever been to. I would have paid for a good country breakfast but understood they are still understaffed. Ask for Room 317 - fabulous!! The state park is huge but very easily mapped. We definitely are going back♥️

It's such a pretty stroll through the mountains. Whether you go just for the overlooks or down the trails, you're guaranteed to see some amazing views. The hike down to the falls is less than a mile but very strenuous, with most of the trail being slanted rocks kinda like steps. We have been in a drought, so the water was not flowing like normal. They have shops, snack bar, pool, and other activities within the park as well.

Beautiful. Lots of campground spots, but be mindful as many of them are not flat. More info is available online when reserving. I did the full loop and hike down to the falls. Was really awesome and Beautiful. The fall colors are gorgeous.

Drove in to this park with both teenagers for the day and what an AMAZING view! The hike down to the falls is not for the out of shape or injured - I saw a whole lot of people trying to come back up that were a bit worse for wear, if you hike to the bottom it will definitely wear you out on your way back up! Pretty slippery as well. You can simply visit the gift shop and take photos at the overlook if hiking is not your thing. Amazing huge rocks above you and all around you all the way down and can't beat the swim in the falls on a hot day. Really amazing and beautiful place.

👍 Excellent wildlife! Very nice cabins that could use a couple of touchups. We rented the cabins here for a family reunion.
