Upon entering Common Grounds Gowrie, the initial interaction was rather lackluster, with no welcoming gesture from the staff. I had to initiate contact to request a table. An added inconvenience arose when our server couldn't provide the price of an omelette, which curiously, was also missing from the menu. The tables, though small, would have been acceptable had they been clean. Despite the evident busyness of the cafe, a few moments to wipe down crumbs from the previous patrons would have made a world of difference. On the brighter side, the staff, while stretched, managed to retain their friendliness and operated efficiently. The cafe offers varied seating options, from indoor areas to a somewhat weathered outdoor space, and even a dedicated dog-friendly section at the front. Our beverages were satisfactory, with the coffee being notably pleasant. The bacon and egg rolls we opted for were generous in their fillings, boasting double bacon and eggs. However, a scarce application of the tomato relish left the roll somewhat dry and lacking in flavor. It's worth noting that the price was reasonable for the serving size. Our dessert choice, the Toro Pancakes, unfortunately, didn't live up to expectations. The presentation was a bit lackluster compared to the tantalizing online photos, and the pancakes themselves left much to be desired. A slight burn and the absence of syrup made for a less than satisfying end to our meal. The ambiance was lifted slightly by the enjoyable background music. While every cafe can have its off days, my experience at Common Grounds Gowrie wasn't one I'd care to repeat. While I won't be returning and hesitate to recommend, it's possible this was just an off morning for them.

My family and I come here come here every Sunday for breakfast and always have a great time. The French toast is the best in Canberra in my opinion.

Absolutely ripped off! Disgusting management. I had to send eggs Benedict back as it was stone cold. Last year kids meals came with chips now they don’t! $10 for a few nuggets. $5.00 for extra mushrooms on the side & only a few small ones. Tomato sauce was $1. They did not provide us with a great experience. They however did over charge BIG time! My partner tried to raise these issues with the manager however he told his staff that he did not want to speak to him. Extremely rude and very disrespectful. We will never return.

Nice little Cafe, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating. Very busy when we visited but staff were coping well and were very friendly. Coffee came out quickly, Campos beans, great flavour and just the right temperature. Food was delicious and well presented. The bacon and egg roll was great, the bacon was a highlight. Colombian hash was excellent pork was tasty and there was just enough chilli heat to make it interesting.

Our favourite local cafe and has amazing (Campos) coffee which is delicious. The staff are really friendly and helpful although be warned that at times they get insanely busy and there can be a wait on the coffee - its worth whatever wait is necessary ;-) I tend to have plain old poached eggs on toast every time which are perfectly cooked. My family have tried all the many different menu items and love the flavours. The french toast & taro pancakes have been firm favourites.

I loved having breakfast at this cafe on a recent visit to Canberra. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The coffee was excellent and so were the friendly staff. I'll be back next time I visit. Thanks Common Grounds!

Had a Bacon and egg roll with a cappuccino. The coffee tasted burnt, but the Bacon and egg was pretty good. Nice and clean restaurant

Tasty food and beverage at reasonable prices, served by willing helpful wait staff with the options of indoor or outdoor seating, the latter had some noise considerations for some. Dog friendly.

Food is almost great and consistent, and fresher than most Cafés in Canberra. Price is very generous for such a good place, I love coming here

Sunday 10am, but 15 minutes for a takeaway coffee is ridiculous. 2 staff on the machine need to be more efficient, should easily handle the volume of coffee orders with a reasonable wait time for both seated and takeaway orders.

I recently had the pleasure of having a breakfast and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The combination of outstanding food, coupled with exceptional customer service, left an indelible mark on me. Not only did the food impress my taste buds, but the incident of an accidental overcharge and the subsequent refund showcased the integrity and professionalism of the staff. Huge respect to the lady who come out to the parking find us and give us a refund for the incidental overcharged.

It seems as though the ownership has changed hands from a few months ago. The food and service has markedly deteriorated. Both our dishes were served with partially cooked meat and the coffee was burnt. Service was slow and the waiters kept asking if we'd order for at least 5 times after we'd actually ordered...

Food and coffee were nice, but came out separately at different times. Ordered a milkshake. We were almost done with our food and I came in to ask where it was, got told "It's on its way." Finished our food. I walked in and said we'd finished our food and still hadn't gotten the milkshake, waiter just stared at me. Got handed the milkshake. It was a subpar milkshake.

We had a delightful dinner. the food was terrific - fresh ingredients with ample portions. Pizzas were great value as were the other dishes. Also the sides, especially the salad. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely dine there again. Highly recommended.

Great menu, quality food, great service even though very busy. Dogs catered for in outdoor areas.

Great food & coffee , generally nice servers. The only issue we had was continuously being asked if we where ready to order in a short period of time, making it obvious they where wanting quick table turn arounds.

Love common grounds! Good coffee and great vibe to this cafe. One of the better breakfast places to go in canberra. The french toast is great, as is the eggs benefict and smashed avo. Everything they do has a twist to the stock standard version of these classic dishes which you cN get elsewhere

Friendly staff but food wasn't great. Got the korean Fried chicken burger but chicken was soggy. We got a huge portion of chips but no seasoning and tasted of old oil. The Aoli and peri peri sauces were very bland. Banana smoothie was good but small for price. Pretty disappointed
