Unique temple surrounded by river on both the sides. Deity is quite powerful and had great darshan. Temple has enough parking lot. There are elephant and cow sheds. Unlike other temples, we saw raw coconuts being offered to God here.

Best thing about this place is that it is build over a river so there is one stream of water behind it and another just below it which look like canal. I visited this place in Sept 2021 so there was no crowd and also no decoration. It is almost 30 to 35 km from main Mangalore city but the route is very good and if you like long drive then it will be very enjoyable. We enjoyed journey more than the destination.

Just love the vibes at this massive and ancient temple and we visit it every year. This time around, we couldn't sit inside and pray as they have implemented social distancing protocol. All was well managed. The temple was super clean as always and a new plot opposite the main entrance is opened up for car parking.

One fine day came to visit this place after a long time. It's located in beautiful place called Kateel. To talk about the temple they worship goddess Sri Durgaparameshwari. Its said that godess here is highly powerful and devotees all over karnataka come here to visit this place. Ample amount of sevas are held here. Temple provides lunch which probably starts around 11 30 am. On a normal day its not too crowded, But at time of annual function or big festival it's highly crowded. For those who come here by vehicle nothing to worry about ample parking space is there here. Lots of buses are also available to this place. Overall it's a nice place to visit. Feeling Blessed 🙏

Powerful Deity Kateel Durga near the banks of Nandhini river . Coconut , flowers and kumkuma are offered to worship. Marriages take place here. Anna dhana available for devotees. Goshala and Gaja shed is also maintained. You could get sarees and photos of Ammavaru in the counters. Slipper stand is not available. Parking lot is there. On the way to Annadhana koota we have toilets. At a time more than 500 people can dine together. Only 6 people serve the whole hall ...all in trolley. Satisfying feel.

Kateel is a beautiful temple built over a river. Very well maintained and quite clean in inner parts of the temple. Four wheeler and two wheeler parking are available here. Lots of small shops located outside the temple to buy pooja stuff. I recommend you guys to keep your shoes inside the car and then go as there no proper stand to keep your shoes. Morning will be the best time to come here as there less rush and in afternoon it gets hot here. Pooja sevas are available here.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the renowned Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple, and I must say it was an enchanting and spiritually uplifting experience. Nestled amidst the picturesque surroundings of Kateel, a small village in the South Indian state of Karnataka, this temple holds immense significance for devotees and tourists alike. From the moment I entered the temple complex, I was captivated by its serene ambiance. The lush greenery, the tranquil atmosphere, and the soothing sound of the river Nandini flowing nearby create a perfect setting for seekers of peace and spirituality. The temple's architecture is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, with intricate carvings and vibrant colors that add to its visual appeal. The main deity of the temple is Goddess Durga, known here as Durgaparameshwari. The idol is awe-inspiring, adorned with beautiful jewelry and garments. The priests and temple staff are courteous and helpful, guiding visitors through the rituals and offering insights into the temple's rich history and significance. One of the highlights of my visit was witnessing the daily rituals and the grand Aarti (a ceremonial worship) performed with utmost devotion and fervor. The soul-stirring chants, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of drums and the fragrance of incense, created a divine atmosphere that left me feeling uplifted and blessed. Apart from the spiritual aspect, the temple also offers various amenities for the convenience of the devotees. There are clean restroom facilities, well-maintained pathways, and designated areas for offerings and prayers. The temple administration ensures a smooth and organized flow of visitors, making the experience pleasant and hassle-free. Another noteworthy feature of the temple is its prasadam (sacred food) distribution. Devotees are treated to a delicious and hygienic meal, known as Anna Prasada, which is served as a gesture of divine grace. The temple's community kitchen prepares this prasadam with utmost care and devotion, providing a wholesome and satisfying experience to all who partake. In conclusion, my visit to the Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple was nothing short of extraordinary. It offered a perfect blend of spirituality, natural beauty, and a warm sense of community. Whether you are a devout follower of the goddess or simply seeking solace in a serene environment, this temple is a must-visit destination. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an enriching and unforgettable spiritual experience.

I'm visiting this place since my childhood. They've have tried renovate or change the premises many times and the latest change is the parking area. The complete area with buildings which had many small shops and green-room for the Yakshagaana artists and other etc. have been cleared up to create a wide parking space which can accommodate both 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers. Parking of these vehicles was a big issue earlier and this latest change surely helps the visitors. The Yakshagaana stage is also moved from the temple side to one side on the middle of the parking area. And there is enough audience-space for this, within the parking area.

The vibes you get at this temple is beyond my ability to describe. The incense fumes near God's idol, and just the whole natural light & setting..made me feel blessed. You also get a good view of nature from there. There's also an office where they sell sarees draped on the Goddess at a reasonable price.

An ancient temple of Goddess Durga Parameshwari located about 20ish KMS from Mangalore city. The temple is built on the flowing river named Nandini. An amazing view of water flowing while you get inside the temple. Cannot take pictures inside temple so can't provide more information. A great feeling and vibe within, when you are in the temple. Devotees are provided with prasada, which is lunch as well as dinner. This temple isn't closed in the afternoon so one visit based on travel plan and distance. One can offer many types of sevas and poojas at the temple. Car parking is available just in front of the temple so aged people can easily enter the temple without having to walk much. Not to miss if you are traveling to Mangalore.

Sacred and devoted place. It's located just beside the highway and has plenty of parking facilities just opposite to the temple gate. Darshan won't take much long so no need to buy sheeghra darshan ticket which costs rs.100. have a river inside the temple but one should visit during rainy season to get the awesome view. Unlucky us as we visited in summer there was no single drop of mulki river. Anna Prasad is also available from 11 am to 5pm as the provide rice, sambar, pickle, curry and sweet. There's also an elephant named mahalaxmi you can take blessing of her too.

A very auspicious temple with such a positive aura. Visited the temple in the evening around 10 PM and it was almost the temple closing time, however I was lucky enough to get inside the temple and took Darshana within time of closing. The temple staff were very cooperative. The river Nandini crossing beside the temple gives a scenic and wonderful aura to the place. Even though I visited in the late hours of the day, I was still blessed to have prasadam at the temple... Moreover after coming out of the temple, there was a Yakshagana programme going on at night, so luckily I was able to witness the beauty of Mangalore's cultural programme too. It was a very wonderful experience indeed. 😇

On the way from Mangalore airport to Udupi, the Durga Parmeshwari temple at Kateel is a large old Hindu temple complex dedicated to the devi. It is built straddling a rivulet, and you cross bridges built within the structure to get to the temple and the food serving hall. Do give Ma Durga devi a saree, and it costs you 40/- for the seva. Don't miss the food prasad (rice, sambar etc) here.
