Visited with Copenhagen card. Eye opening experience. Didn’t know the doctors and hospitals can take so many samples and study them. There are lots of defected baby samples and cancerous damaged tissues on display. Really makes you appreciate how good it is that the medical field has advanced so much nowadays and that having a healthy body is not guaranteed.

An extremely interesting and slightly eerie museum highlighting different ailments that can effect the human body. Also shows how medicine would have been taught in the years gone by and how much modern medicine has advanced since these early stages. Would highly recommend however not for the faint of heart. Also covered by the Copenhagen card.

This place is filled with many curiosities related to medicine, I enjoyed going through the place and reading about different topics. There was a brief introduction at the beginning by someone who explained what was the purpose of the building, how it has changed throughout the years and the different exhibitions we shall find. I should note that some people who are easily disturbed by the presence of human remains and corpses (such as fetuses) may not find the experience as pleasant as I described it. Be aware of that fact.

What an amazing collection. Highly recommend. Spend 2 hours here and 2 hours next door at the design museum. Worth the outing to both.

It's a medical museum with a teaching history behind it. Slightly small, but enough to wander around for about 2 hrs. It has a permanent exhibition of diseased body parts, and the other mutable exhibitions at the time of writing include Corona Virus + the Brain & Gut microbiome. The latter exhibit was more of a work of art in some ways, and a lot more interactive which was very informative and engaging. Although some parts of the interactive bits of the exhibit was out-of-order, it was still fun to play around.

One of the best museum in Copenhagen! First of all, the staff is very kind and helpful, and seem to really care about the place. There is plenty of interactive stuff and the exhibits encorperates a wide range of things to see, through art and science. There is a lot to read but it's written in a very engaging way, so it was not a hassle at all. The last exhibit about the human body collection was fascinating however I don't think they stress enough that is it not for the faint of heart. Highly recommended!

Really interesting exhibition on the relationship between the mind and the gut. It was also nice to see the stunning auditorium and the other exhibits. The body collected area is very interesting but not for everyone... Anyone triggered by child loss or related topics may wish to skip that area.

A very interesting museum and a cool look at some anatomy that may seem morbid to some but fascinating to others!

I like this kind of stuff so I loved this place. Definitely a niche type of stop so heads up to those just wandering here. They deal with the historical specimen collects as well as any place can in the modern day and try to humanize and empathize whenever possible. Also modern exhibit sections featuring digestion in one area and the covid-19 experience in another. Worth the trip if into medical history.

I felt myself like back in university. The most exciting was cinema room, where we saw movie about inner world and how it works. Psychiatry department, history. You should visit this place to be closer to the understanding of medicine🤓

One of the best museums I've ever been to, it was interactive, super fun, but a bit too much when we ended up in the organs and bones on display 😂 My friend who's a nurse though found it absolutely fascinating. It is definitely a must see!

This place was so cool to go to, It was a small museum but I enjoyed going there for most of it. I thought it was really cool how they had real things from the human body to display, I recommend coming here if your looking for a short trip to somewhere.

Staff very friendly and informative. Amongst other things, the museum has a vast collection of old medical stuff and human body preservations. Also it was the perfect size to not get tired seeing all the things.

Worth the visit. The staff is helpful and nice, and the exhibition very interesting and interactive. We saw disturbing but very uncommon things. You’re not hungry after the museum 😂

The Museum of Medicine (Medicinsk Museion) is research, sharing, experimentation… "Culture of Medicine - yesterday, today and tomorrow". Set up within the historic headquarters of the Royal Academy of Surgeons, a building dating back to 1787, it is a research unit of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Copenhagen and at the same time a museum dedicated to the history of health and pathologies in a cultural perspective. Inside are preserved tools and iconographic material of a historical nature, concerning biomedicine and the culture of health in Denmark and in the world. The collection was founded in Copenhagen in 1906 by a group of doctors. Within the Medicinsk Mueseion, Hippocrates, Polybius, Galen and Humoral Physiology cannot be missing. A historical, philosophical and scientific excursus between organs in formalin and ancient drugs. a very informative museum whose purpose is to tell the last centuries of medical history through the tools, techniques, discoveries and even authentic anatomical finds, so this museum is not suitable for small children or susceptible people !!

A very interesting museum that showcases medicine using a mixture of science, art, and ethics. The opening times are a bit shorter than the other museums in Copenhagen, but I think that it is definitely worthwhile to take a look. The entrance fee is covered by the Copenhagen card. All exhibits and signs are written in both Danish and English. Access to the different exhibits involves walking up and down stairs. As is explained in the short introduction that you are recommended to attend before starting the exhibits, the building is a part of the medical district and used to be used to educate doctors in Copenhagen. The permanent anatomy exhibition (not recommended for children) was interesting in that not only were preserved body parts shown, but also more modern techniques such as molecular biology and cell culture were also described. There were many interesting, semi-interactice videos and slides. However, in some cases, explanations were a little lacking so it was not certain what you are watching. The temporary exhibitions that were showcased when I went were the corona exhibition and the gut and mind. It was interesting to see the corona exhibition, especially as there were many references to previous epidemics. I was a little surprised that a more creative approach was used for the gut and mind exhibition, which features an artistic film and a fun (but not very scientific) task that gives you candy at the end. But there were descriptions on the types of experiments that were done to study the mind-gut axis.

Such a fascinating place! Very friendly as soon as I walked in and gave me an english map and told me about all the exhibits and facts about them. Very interactive museum for an adults, lots of fascinating specimens and current medical concepts. Totally worth it if you are into medicine.

I thought the staff were great but the museum wasn’t very informative or laid out in a good presentation. Most museums in this area have done an amazing job with audio walk throughs and detailed information so this one just felt lacking

Good on the Corona exhibits, the rest were a bit tame, we want more grotesques!

It is a very nice anatomy museum, especially for people who can see preserve human parts and small children and babies. I learn a lot from this museum. It is small but very nice. I recommend it for people who love medical /anatomy science.

Interesting museums with lots of human specimen from the Danish academy of medicine. You’ll also learn more about physiology and pathology as well as see various exhibits around the human Body (the mind and the gut was very fun and informative). Recommended for a half day out.

Simply the most beautiful museum (in my opinion) in Europe! (Opinion of someone in the medical field). ♥️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Amazing! Extraordinary!! I loved!!

It was nice. It had very good ideas. It could be much more interesting if exhibits have written stories, maybe some cool medical facts. I loved the 'Mind the gut' part. It could also be better if there is a gift shop, so many cool things could be sold there.

Nice museum and that's it. If you're not into that stuff I wouldn't recommend.

Fascinating little museum. Takes you through the history of medicine and coupled with that the understanding how the body and mind work. The theatre is a must.

Very bland, not sure if it's a kids museum or aimed for adults. Many exhibits are quite disturbing, but overall not very interesting or engaging for kids. We stayed there for a very short while. The staff was very helpful and nice, but the building is quite hard to navigate through.

This was probably one of my favourite things to see in Copenhagen! Really informative and detailed medical science. They had a temporary exhibition on Covid-19 which gave a bit more background how it all started and what steps have been taken here locally. Note: There is an expo of Cadavers so make sure that you have a stomach for it.

Interesting little museum. I especially liked "the collected budy" which focus on the sick/deform body (see pictures). Personnel was very friendly.
