Don't miss the opportunity to travel back in time to the Victorian Era. This elegant apartment was owned by a wealthy merchant and was then lived in by his daughters until 1962! Imagine living in this place while people around you are living in the 1960s. Today, the apartment belongs to the Danish National museum. You can only visit It with a guided tour, which last about 1h. Tours in English are only offered on Saturdays at 1pm. Tours in Danish are offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 11am, 12am, and 1pm. Cost of the tour is 50 DKr.

It's like you enter a time machine and go back in time. It isn't very big and not for kids but we had a guided tour by a very passionate guide and that made it a cool experience!

Immaculate apartment with original furnishings from a wealthy Danish family dating back to 1890. Two sisters lived there until their deaths and donated their apartment to the National museum. As they were unmarried, nothing in the apartment was updated after their father passed away in 1890. They were one of the first houses in Denmark to get electricity and running water. They even had one of the first telephones; family had 1 digit phone number - 7 - showing their prominence in the country. Everything is preserved perfectly and allows for a glimpse into how life was lived over 100 years ago. Available as a guided tour only, as apartment is protected by the state. Guided tour is free with Copenhagen card from National Museum. Can redeem in lieu of free gift.

This is an upper estate home from the 1890s that has been preserved in its original condition. The tour is very interesting and some of the rooms are absolutely fantastic. What strikes the visitor is how modern much was even then. Running water, telephone and other modern amenities. Please note that you must book a viewing in advance.

Fantastic hidden gem within Copenhagen, where you step back in time to an untouched interior decor from the late 1800s. I made a mistake and didn't realise the tour was in Danish but the other extremely kind people on the tour said it would be okay if the guide gave the tour in English which was much appreciated. The tour guide did an amazing job of bringing the history of this home to life. Tours last an hour and are on 3 times a day, weekend days only and i would prebook your tickets. I'm not sure when English tours are available. I would highly recommend this tour, loved every minute of it. Thanks again.

Travel back in time. Back when great-grandmother's mother was a child. Great décor & story about a rich man's family in Copenhagen before 1900

The apartment is fantastic and you are almost transported back in time. Unfortunately we had a guide who didn't have much knowledge about the family or the time period, I also felt that we were rushed through the apartment in just over half an hour. I would have liked a little more time for us to explore a bit on our own. But it's still worth a visit.

If you are interested in the Victorian era, I would highly recommend visiting this if you can. You need to book tickets online prior to visiting since you can only visited it by a guided tour which has limited capacity. You meet inside the main museum before walking to the Victorian apartment rather than house. It is a beautiful time capsule of life in the 19th Century for those with wealth.

Flotte og meget spændende genstande - flot formidlet visuelt. Savner dog at udstillingerne bliver mere interaktive.

(Translated by Google) I think the place is horrible and traumatic. I felt stuffy and had trouble breathing due to the bad smell of old cheese. The tour guide was rude and unpleasant, and would not shut people out of the home.

(Translated by Google) Very good guide - nice and good to answer questions about the tour. But there were too many on the tour, there should be a maximum amount so everyone gets some out of it. Time is also handsome - the guide only had 7 minutes to pick up a new team - so it got a bit of stress lately.

(Translated by Google) Incredible historical and exciting experience. The apartment is from the late 1800s and the decor is still quite the same. Very fascinating. The tour takes a short hour and you hear about family and life at that time. The meeting point for the tour is in the foyer of the National Museum. Meget fascinerende. (Translated by Google) The tour must be booked from the National Museum. We came in with the Copenhagen Card, it has to be booked in advance pq sometimes only two visits per day. The English Tour has been very entertaining with anecdotes and historical facts. The brutal apartment saw how they lived at that time. (Translated by Google) Interesting insight into one of the empire's homes in 1880ish. See Denmark's first toilet and one of the first homes with telephone and running water. Many different styles in one home. Here you are shown around in the rooms that are adorned to be flashy, but also in the private conveniences that are furnished for use. Mange forskellige stilarter i ét hjem.

Horrible experience. The smell was miserable and the round shower smelled and was very uncomfortable. The home was ugly, and i couldn't breath.

Very bad experience. The person showing around smelled bad, and i had trouble breathing in the stinky home. The person didn't even let me out, not even when i begged for my life to get out. The experience nearly killed me, because of my astma.
