Every time I step inside the Black Diamond, I immediately feel a sense of calmness and tranquility. It almost makes me feel like going back to studying 😅 This is more than a library though: it's a masterpiece of architectural design, it hosts a few exhibits in the lower floor, small shop, and a bar area with food and drinks. The reading rooms (both in the "old" and "new" library) offer quite a lot of seats. What is also worth checking out is the view from the 6th floor and the garden in the backyard. Besides its main purpose as a library, I would also point this out as a cool spot to visit in Copenhagen. When weather is nice, it also offers nice views by the canal.

I'm happy for the people who live in Copenhagen. They have such an extraordinary facility nearby. It's a brilliantly designed building, architecture wise. Inside gave me the calm and clear feeling to focus. The interior is well thought and beautiful in each corner, chairs, lights, tables. There's the old pharmacy cupboards with old books directory, impressively kept in good condition. The lowest floor has a café with the water view. Bread there was good as well. I'd recommend to drop by even just to see around. But be careful not to disturb people 😊

Probably one of the most meaningful and productive and great buildings in Copenhagen at all. The design is awesome, the sun shines in every corner, the space is enough for everyone, there is a fee toilet, a great view, a coffee shop at the first floor, an open space to sit down, read or do a mobile task, or even just rest a bit from the cold winter of Danmark. I loved it and visited twice in the 3 days stay.

A really nice library architecturally both from the outside and inside. Locally known as the Black Diamond, this is really a diamond for the Copenhagen Architecture scene in my view. A really beautiful building especially on Nice sunset days when the sparkling water reflects in the windows. Go inside a well. It's free and the atrium looking out over the water is awesome. The old library area is also nice to walk into. Just be quiet as it is a working library.

The most stunning library. A huge building with several floors. There students studying everywhere and it's so calm and quiet. You should definitely reach the top floor to get a better view and then grab coffee and a snack at the cafeteria located on the ground floor. You can also buy souvenirs and books at a store next to the café.

Gallery with temporary exhibitions (new building which I believe is called "black diamond") nicely connected to the older library. There are nice views on the canal, and be sure to check out the lecture room and the book deposit (you can get a peek from the glazed doors at the end of the main library corridor). There is also a very nice garden in the back of the building you should have a look at..

Primo study location! The study area have signs that say "users only". That means people who are there to study/work, aka no tourists. You don't have to register or anything like that. Lots of study tables and you can go old charm or modern sleek. Study areas are dead quiet even when full (so def not for meetings or group work). I think there are separate areas for talking and group work. WiFi was fast and easy to connect to.

The Royal Library is a great place to visit that is free and offers great views over the river. "The Black Diamond" as it is called is an architectural marvel. Despite many areas being closed off to the general public (aka tourists, understandably), the bookstore, Cafe and open areas of the building offer more than enough to explore.

The Danish Royal Museum aka the Black Diamond is beautiful, free, open on Mondays, staffed by lovely folks, and offers free Wi-Fi, a zillion free public bathrooms, and gorgeous views of the harbor.

Interesting modern building of the library, that is also called Black Diamond because of its color and shapes. Together with BLOX building, they make a very nice modern waterline which can be seen from the Knippelsbro bridge.

An absolutely amazing place to rest, read, sip coffee at the café, observe the beautiful architecture, or study really hard for exam, as I saw some students doing. There’s also an incredibly beautiful and unique blend of modernity and tradition! And they offer amazing bathrooms, free water, and places to store extra luggage. I’d absolutely love to study here, if I lived in Copenhagen.

The library is fully operating now. You will have nice spots to read and study. Nice atmosphere without any noise so you can do what you want to do. In some places eating and drinking not allowed so you need to be sure about where you want to set.

The Royal Danish Library is a must-see. Inside the building there is a library, reading rooms, presentation rooms as well as a bookstore with souvenirs and an excellent cafe. Take a break, visit the library and enjoy an cup of coffee and a view of the Circle Bridge.

Nice library and it called “black diamond” if I remember correctly. A cozy working/studying/reading place. Quiet and have tons of space and amazing view. If I can come to work in CPH, I definitely will go this place every weekend to do my side coding project!

A really beautiful library, combining the old Royal Library and the new Black Diamond building. Unfortunately a lot of areas were closed to visitors the day I was there, but despite this I still really enjoyed my visit. The café is definitely worth a visit too.

Great place to visit. Its an architecture jewel. It’s a place for visit to study or work, or even just to explore. The mix of the old library and the new places is great. The coffee is good, they just need to improve in the WC cleanliness. They have guided tours on Mondays, so schedule in accordance.

This library makes me wish I was a student studying in Copenhagen, as I would come here every single day. Incredible architecture combining new and old, and there are free lockers to use too. Visit the reading room, feels like Hogwarts, and it’s so silent you could here a pin drop in there!

A beautiful library not to be missed. It has a new building connected to the old library and the architecture is just lovely. The new building also has a great view to the river, and there is also a beautiful garden at the back.

First building I came across when arriving in Copenhagen as I went straight for a walk along the waterfront. Impressive modern architecture.

A lovely spot for a cup of coffee but it's rather stuffy for a place where you're supposed to sit and study. The air conditioning doesn't seem to work. The view from the upper floors is stunning and the architecture is original and daring, but as I said, more of a coffee place than a library.

Big and nice library downtown Copenhagen. Old building nicely connected with the new building, called "The Black Diamond". Very spacious and nice. Free to visit. Great views from the 6th floor. Paid parking / garage nearby.

Very modern and stylish architectural deisgn. Came to visit as a tourist and found some really nice study rooms. There’s a collection of some historic books in the library musuem on the second floor.

Really cool building, and great exhibitions. But the Cafe doesn't have low carb food. The nuts I got where 'the bottom of the bag', and wasn't that great to eat. The coffee tastes ok, but visually it seemed boring. It would have helped if it was made correctly.

The whole building feels inherently cozy, despite being so spacious. Highly recommend going up to the sixth floor to see the interior from up above, although if you’re afraid of heights it might not be the best idea🌝

Great library with stunning architecture and a great view of the water. You can have a snack at the Cafe and enjoy it on the water, shop in the small store in the front, go downstairs to an exhibit, or study and read in the beautiful reading rooms. A great place to stop by and enjoy the view of the water or relax.

A beautiful library which combines the old one with the new building which is by the canal. I work there regularly but I also go to the cafe since it offers a great view of the canal. The building itself is beautiful, one of the must see if you visit Copenhagen. The garden at the back of the building is also very nice, especially when the weather is good.

Many places in the new and old reading room, plus also on the hallway around the old reading room. Be aware that there might not be many power plugs in the old reading room, at least I couldn't find around where I was sitting

The "black diamond"...an example of modern architecture. A fully operating library, with both an old and a new part. A quiet place to sit. There is a bookshop, a library and a cafe with an area to sit.

I’ve loved this place since I first came 15 years ago. All that glass opening up fantastic views of the water. The bridges. The undulating balconies. We should have one in every city
